The Bruce and stevie duet was beyond magical!!!!!!!
Fun fact: Bruce Springsteen actually had a sore throat during this but still sang gave it his all!
Heard a story that when they all showed up people were kind of arguing. Actors vs singers. Bruce springsteen shows up. In a rental car not a limo. And says" i came here to feed some people".
On the flipsyde, Springsteen is known for sounding like he has a soar throat, lol.
@@VelkanAngels Yeah, I was just thinking that might actually enhance his intense "gravel and leather" vocal style. :D
Bruce always sounds like he has a sore throat.,
@@ignaciocortez7028 There's a behind the scenes video. I didn't see any arguing there.
I don't why I always liked Cyndi Lauper's part in this song the most.
i personally always hated that part i always skip it :')
hahaha lmao
I always loved that part the most also! @@tallcoolone09
@@songbirdsupreme5704 everyone is here in this comment section to give their opinions. even if no one cared, that won't stop me from stating mine...
if you truly didn't care, you wouldn't have replied. period.
@@onemillionpercent Lol coming from you,
Everyone is here to give their opinions, even though you dont care, you cannot stop me as well, cause thats my opinion. Lol
4:27 Steve Perry should of sung at least 1-2 seconds more...he killed it
Steve should have sung a bigger part.
No wonder he's "The Voice".
Ray Charles brought it to every song he ever did...miss you much Mr. Charles 😥
@4:27 is my faaaaavorite part. Steve Perry killed it!
My fave too!! I love his Voice... 💕
Yeeeeah! Steve's the best singer of all time!
Bruce Springsteen And Steve Perry!.
I love watching the documentary about the recording of this song. Bruce Springsteen is sitting in the background when Steve Perry steps up to the microphone to do his bit, and the look on Bruce's face is gold....it's like WOW...listen to that guys voice!
He is in my opinion, the greatest male vocalist in rock n roll.
Michael 😍🤧💓
“The beast himself”. LOL
He is just too damn cool.🥰
Definitely GOAT..
Diana Ross and Steve Perry; phenomenal!!
Room full of super-stars and Steve Perry shuts it down. Legend.
You mean Stevie Wonder.
So proud to know I grew up in an era where singers could actually sing! This is like walking down memory lane.
These days it's autotune and lipsync(hello justin beaber), singers are nowhere to be found.
We did not just lose Michael Jackson but we lost a part of music that makes music special, these days most music is just bland.
I miss the 80s so much. 😢
Im jealous of you 😔
#Facts
BY FAR the greatest compilation of vocal monsters ever ever EVER!!
Absolutely
Nope. 2nd biggest. Band Aid was biggest
@@johnwarwick-greer5931 😅😂🤣😂😅🤣😂🤦♂️🤣🤣🤦♂️🤦♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dianna Ross, Steve Perry, MJ, and Cyndi Lauper parts just eat at the soul.
Diana is the Original Diva!!
Ray Charles too
For me it's Bruce and Stevie. Best part of the song
There will never be another voice like Steve Perry
Still gives me goosebumps and when Stevie Wonder and Bruce Springsteen get on it, I get tears. To go back to the days when supporting love, and caring TOGETHER could happen.
That part gives me pure goosebumps
Dee Marie Dubois I get emotional everytime I listen to this we grew up in a great era.
@LTJayJackson Amen.
Bruce Springsteen and Stevie Wonder are the 2 who came back to "extend the song"...with again ANOTHER SWEATER!!!... has
This is UNFORGETTABLE THANK U.. BLESSINGS
✌❤😎🙏🌍👍👍💯
This song shows us as humanity what we can be and what we should be
“I don’t know if we have enough singers nowadays to make a song like this.” FACTS.
Exactly!
You can invite the Rappers but I think there will be dead bodies all over the place.
I never would have thought to put Stevie Wonders voice with Bruce Springsteen but they sound amazing together in this song.
These artist are my generation and I'm so proud to say that. What these pioneers did for music has and will set the foundation for generations to come.
The song showed you COULD actually check your ego at the door.
Ya know, except for Prince...
@@TheKyrix82 yeah lol!!
Prince: Hold My Beer..
@@TheKyrix82 Prince, of course, couldn't have checked his ego at the door without ceasing to exist; the guy was made entirely of ego...
This is my generation... I remember when this came out... blew everyone away.. still does! Thank you!!
I absolutely love how Stevie, just exudes passion when he sings. It warms my heart!
It’s like an all-star game.
Love it
Even after some 30 odd years, I still get chills when I listen to this song.......This song gave us hope, love, togetherness, and above all, opened our hearts to giving to people in need ❤️ 💛 💙 💜
Steve Perry's part: chills. Cindy Lauper's part: chills Stevie Wonder's second part: Chills I remember how big of a hit this was and I saw the video so many times but it's still as good today as it was back then.
Totally agree !! The best parts
The BRUCE and Stevie duet is by far the best part of the song.
Always get goosebumps at 4:40 Michaels voice is unmatched
Same!
Stevie Wonder brought it. Cyndi Lauper brought it. Ray Charles brought it. Bruce Springsteen brought it. I mean, hell...who didn't bring it. This song is my shit.
the 80s were awesome!! the best decade ever! this was the song we sang for graduations in pre-school and grade school back in the mid 80s
The white guy in the back row in the middle with the fluffy hair standing straight up on his head - singer and guitarist for Fleetwood Mac, Linsdey Buckingham. He had just released a solo album around that time too.
There's no "Quincy" these days. He had a vision to orchestrate the artists in perfect order, and was respected so much for the artists to leave their egos at the door and give themselves to Quincy's direction. No one tried to be bigger than the song nor cause.
Well strictly speaking there still is a Quincy, the original one! But true, he would not likely do this now and nor would anyone else...only one I can imagine giving it a shot would be David Foster, maybe...
Prince tried but was given the 👢
“We don’t have enough singers to make a song like this today.” FAX.
Bruce Springsteen nailed it with the vocals!
All-Stars for sure.
Never anything like it before or after
now these are were real singers!!!!!! you dont see much of that now days. These singers dont need audio tuners.
Stevie wonders voice sound so good.
The part with him and Bruce is my favorite part. Stevie definitely knocked it out of the park.
The part with him and Bruce is my favorite part. Stevie definitely knocked it out of the park.
it truly is the 80's All Stars.
"Mullet Man" is actually blue eyed soul singer Kenny Loggins... look him up, he's got some real great classics.
He is THE soundtrack of the 80s
I don't think I've listened to this song since the 80s! I was 16 when it hit MTV and the radio. For the next 6 months or so it was in frequent rotation. You couldn't get away from it if you tried. So I kind of got burned out on it. It kinda stings to say that now. As I'm watching this I'm so happy that I got to experience this in my lifetime! I didn't recognize the magnitude of greatness that this video would become! Some of these performers were at the beginning of their careers, some were already icons. The sadness sets in when you think that some of them are no longer with us! Thank you for this reaction and for taking me back to an awesome era! New sub here!
I was 15 years old. I feel old
Cyndi Lauper is iconic in this
Steve Perry. The Golden Voice
Watching this in 2020 and it is fantastic to see all these legends of music.. some still here with us and some not .. but they will always live on through their music...
Bruce Springsten
💙 Forever my favourite
That room was filled with super stars.
Indeed you would never have enough actual singers! You couldn't find a tenth of the talent these days! These people where talent, they didn't have talent, they where talent! I miss those days, but I am glad I grew up then, knowing real talent! Same with band aid! I watched that concert live, that's a memory I will take to my grave!
What an incredible song , the who's who of the music world at the time . Just phenomenal talent all in the same room at one time ..
Bruce killed it .
I remember when this came out...can't believe how far we have come as far as Aids are concerned!!
Dionne Warwick and Willie Nelson sharing a mic makes me really fucking happy...
"Not enough singers..." Yup I think the same when I listen to "U Will Know" by Black Men United.
Some of the best song writers ever in that room and singers man i miss our generation
Real recognize real! God bless you brotha. You knew alot of the peeps. Shout out to my 80s and 90s babys!
That was Dan Akroyd. He was a singer, remember Blues Brothers? Is it sad that I know who every individual singer and most of the choir are?
Individual singers:
Lionel Ritchie
Stevie Wonder
Paul Simon
Kenny Rodgers
James Ingram
Tina Turner
Billy Joel
MJ
Dianna Ross
Dionne Warwick
Willie Nelson
Al Jarreau
Bruce Springsteen
Kenny Loggins
Steve Perry
Darryl Hall
Huey Lewis
Cyndi Lauper
Kim Carnes (Betty Davis Eyes)
Bob Dylan
Ray Charles
These are the individual singers.
I know every single one, the 80s are my fave decade, but I couldtn tell you anyone out there now lol
Why sad?? It's awesome that you know these great musical artists..
Yeah so do I, but i'm certainly not sad about it, & neither should you be. We're blessed to have lived during an era that REAL music was written & performed by REAL musicians (although there tv & screen actors). sprinkled in this video).
This was unheard of at the time, a super group. Band Aid was Bob Geldoffs first project, then he came to the USA. Famine relief via those 2 songs changed the economy in Ethiopia in the most affected areas. 25 years later Bob went back, there’s a documentary about it. Makes us all feel good, to this day.🎼🎶🎶🎤❤️😎Only Quincy can direct this choir....and royalty are in the house......facts.Harry Belafonte, James Ingram, Jeffrey Osbourne, Al Jareau, among other things- this was the night of the American Music Awards- at 4 am, they went to the studio....and did this.....unbelievable masterpiece.
The fact that as a young man, you know who many of these artists are warms my heart.
The British and the Irish brought out a song saying feed the world. It wasn’t long after that the Americans came out with a song saying...we are the world
Edit- watch Adam hills live at the Apollo extended part. If you want to see the original joke lol
And then a few months after the American version, Christians made their own version too. The former being a more Secular affair.
Surf Widow if you want to see the original joke check out Adam hills live at the Apollo extended part 1. Just search for it on RUclips lol
Yeah Brand Aid. They did a massive gigg in Wembley in 84
also metal we are stars but we are the world was a good cause
That song was called "Do they know it's Christmas?" and they released a couple of months prior to "we are the world" coming out.
You're right, no voices...they don't make them like this anymore it seems....All superstars!! All legends!!! Priceless!🎵💕
It's very hard to pick one favourite part because every part of this song is so special...
Back in the day when we had hope, we really thought we could make a difference.
THE BEST OF THE BEST 80S!!!
One music hall of famer after another.
And this is only one of a million reasons I'm happy to have lived my teen years through the 80s
YOUR SO LUCKY OMG
Great reaction vid, I like it when people know the epic singers by name. You nailed it 💯 The whole documentary is worth watching.
The anthem of all Mankind !!!
The all stars of all stars. Finally worthy of the word EPIC
aww I love this♥️ truly beautiful! But sad that Freddie’s not in it🙃♥️
Queen declined the invitation, that's sad :(
Yeah, same as it's sad that Michael Jackson wasn't a part of Live Aid.
@@diegom.2026 Actually Freddy Mercury wasn't American that's why he wasn't invited. USA for Africa is the name
Then Explain me how Queen was invited?
@@diegom.2026 I think you might be thinking of Prince? Because he was invited but declined
Amazing....so many talented artists in this video, still get goosebumps and teary eyed....We are the world
Its so refreshing to hear your take on this when you actually know most of the performers! Thank you! Similar reviews and reactions the folks had no idea who most of the performers were!
The man standing by Harry Belafonte is comic actor Dan Ackroyd. Dan was one of the early SNL cast members. And an awesome musician as well. He was half of SNL music/comedy duo the Blues Brothers with John Belushi. And in the middle of it all is 60's voice of his generation and counter-culture icon, Bob Dylan. FYI - his son Jakob Dylan fronted 90's singing sensation group The Wallflowers. Michael Jackson wrote this song and it was produced by Quincy Jones. Like others in the day, I counted down the days to watch it's debut on MTV or VH1. I don't remember which one. The pairing of Stevie Wonder & Bruce Springsteen was genius. Their voices contrasted beautifully.
The memories of this song makes me cry. It's so good. Just when you think it's finishing and can't get any better, in come the parts of bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, stevie wonder and ray Charles. Amazing!!!
Ah yes...the time when artists actually could sing...LIVE!
MICHAEL LOVE 😭👍🙏💖😍
35 years ago and I still gives me chills.
The 80s is truly the last decade of music .... that was still great and people who had talent and worked to have a career... these are our greatest talents in this video people from ray Charles to Michael Jackson Stevie Wonder Kenny Rogers Tina turner Etc and on and on ...
Not to burst your bubble and i agree, BUT there are some good artists out there like AURORA and billie eillsih :) they dont use autotune btw
This is so beautiful 😍😍
most hilarious thing is from the Pop Up Video episode of this. "Dan Aykroyd was there to 'represent the American Film industry.'....Dan is Canadian." LMAO.
amazing reaction!!!! btw i loved your commentary afterwards. very insightful!
rip james ingram
yes, he had a great voice! he wrote PYT for Michael too
This song has always been amazing, but for me, the message behind the song, and the way everyone came together, still gives me chills & makes my heart melt.......great reaction !!!💕
Love the message, thank you!
There was a sign outside the studio that read Leave Your Ego At The Door
First time seeing u and think ur cool. Glad u listened to we are the world. Thanks for comments on a great song. Stay safe and God bless.
This was AMAZING!!!! I challenge you to go to Wikipedia to read/learn ALL of the details about this miraculous project. There you will see the list of ALL 46 singers!! 46!!! AND there were also famous musicians from various different bands who participated with their guitar talents, drums, keyboards etc. This WAS SO SPECIAL!!!! Sadly 8 of these wonderful artists have since passed. This WAS LEGENDARY & EPIC!!!! This will NEVER be done again!!!
We need this song today. It is very relavent today and in these times. This is so special in many ways.
Loved your reaction!
The passion in all of there voices u can see the love and commitment to this song and project chilling and overwhelming to listen to, truly amazing and unbelievable everyone o e was perfect on there voices were there's which made it perfect even Cyndi lauper was unbelievable her add lib coming in at the end yeah yeah yeah yeah truly great and Bruce and Stevie at the end and U can hear James Ingrams add lib high note after Bruce and Stevie ooh hoo ooh hoo tremendous
"I don't know if we have enough singers nowadays to make a song like this." ... indeed!
Talk about real talent! No auto tune. Real talent. Where is that today? No here.!
The documentary is good! Took place right after the AMAs 1985. thriller was released in 1982
the guy with the brown hair,/mullet is Kenny Loggins he had some hits for soundtracks back then - footloose and danger zone were his songs; lol I love the documentary on how they came together to do this, it was right after the AMAs I think; 5 of the Jacksons are in this, randy, Latoya, Jackie, Tito and Michael
The greatest collaboration of all time.
Im 45 and I didnt know everybody the first time I heard this of course in 1984,but since then I noticed so many: Dan Akroyd was there you are right, next to him Harry Belafonte,Al Jarreu,Paul Simon with Kenny ROgers,etc......I know more people in this by name than the band for haiti cos my generation im sure stuck with this amazing idea and sound and im not even interested what they are trying to do collectively i mean so called "singers".:-)))
It was for the famine in Ethiopia. it was the biggest selling single of all time.
I watched We are the World behind the scene , after American Music Award all Artists go straight to the recording studio wearing the same outfit they had for the awards night. They need to learn the Lyrics , melody and execute their lines perfectly bcoz they've never heard the song , they did the recording and editing from 9PM to 2AM without proper sleep and *_without_* Autotune 😂

True! He picked the perfect part to showcase each singer's unique talent.
