These early bands created rock and roll. Every note, every riff, every harmony, every lyrical theme you hear was copied again and again through the 70s, 80', 90's....... Imagine what it was like to grow up in the era as many of us did. The Eagles are my favorite group. January 2023 I had tickets to see them only about three hours from me. I was so excited to finally get to see them live. I couldn’t go. I got pneumonia and Covid at the same time and landed in the hospital. I’m now 60, today in fact, and my eldest grandson loves this older music. It makes me really happy. I used to play these groups when his mom, my daughter was growing up and she played it for him when he was growing up. He’s almost 19 and I hope one day, he introduces it to his kids. Long live rock and roll!
This is and will forever be one of my favorite songs ever… I saw them live in 94 on their Hell Freezes Over tour and it was well past their prime, they had been broken up for years and they were older but still sounded soooo good! Thank you for your wonderful fresh reaction!
This song was about drug addiction and crack cocaine was rife in California at the time of song's release and also depicts California as like a large hotel where people can go and be "living it up" meaning they can drink, take drugs, and smoke all night long
This is arguably their most well known song EVER! I’ve been an Eagles fan since the late 70s and for Christmas this year my wonderful wife got me a signed copy of the album with a silver record of Glenn Frey on the front. They’re a band I’ve never been able to see. On guitar you have Don Felder and the guy in the bandanna is Joe Walsh who in 1980 ran for president. This band has over 50 years of massive hits! If you wanna delve deeper into the genius of the Eagles check out some live stuff from their Hell Freezes Over tour or their show in Melbourne Australia. The double guitar you’re asking about, one guitar is a normal 6 string guitar and the other is a 12 string which adds multiple strings of the same note. You can’t go wrong with anything they do young buck.
Love the Eagles! I didn’t see this concert in DC… but I did catch them in DC about 10 years ago, before Glenn Frey passed away. They sounded amazing, put on one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
This one song is, quite possibly, the signature song of the Eagles. Some others may pick other songs from different eras of the band, but I think this one song spans their entire history and defines them and their talents best. One comment from me; I cannot believe that you have never seen a double-neck guitar before. You need to expand your horizons!
Yes, the double neck guitar allows a player to switch sounds, like moving from a six string, to a twelve string without changing instruments. Joe Walsh in the red bandana was an awesome guitarist even before he joined the Eagles. This was a GREAT reaction vid. There was some incredible groups in the 70s and 80s! Thanks to today's reaction videos, they live on!
Never get tired of seeing reactions to this song. Perfect choice for a first time listening to this group. My faorite song by them. The fact that the drummer is singing lead catches everyone off guard.😂😂😂

I am glad you are able to appreciate different genres. I grew up listening to the Eagles with my dad. Thank u so much for enjoying this. ❤
I was 17 when I first heard this! Yeah..... 1977!
Love the Eagles! I didn’t see this concert in DC… but I did catch them in DC about 10 years ago, before Glenn Frey passed away. They sounded amazing, put on one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
Legends!! 🔥♥️Just think there was no Autotune & they were LIVE singing & playing to perfection!!
This is my all time fav song...THE BEST GUITAR OUTRO EVER
So much talent on one stage! 🌺✌️
Another American Classic song by an American rock group legend❤❤❤💗💗
Thanks for the memories❤❤❤
I loved their guitar duet! They have a ton of hits that you should check out, try "New kid in town".
Welcome to my youth! Many great songs from the 70’s, the Eagles are one of the best!!
Love your reaction!! I saw this tour when I was 12 and it was freaking awesome¡
Saw them twice. These guys were *tight* . Vocally nobody could touch them!
Dude, you're not watching, the guitar work is amazing and what makes this song
That’s my favorite! I can say it! Lived in LA for a year. I understand you can never leave !!! I got lucky though. We hope you enjoyed your visit to a comfort zone I hope you visit many more times.
I am glad you are able to appreciate different genres. I grew up listening to the Eagles with my dad. This song has always had such great memories as a kid, but then seeing Don Felder in Niagara Falls with my dad and watching him play the double neck front akd center will be a memeory etched in my heart and being for ever❤
ha ha these guys taught me to sing...great song great performance
