SOLUTION: If you are hooked up to a power surge where you can plug in multiple plugs, your switch might not be receiving enough energy to power the dock. it’s gotta be plugged into the wall.
Whenever I plug mine in, the dock lights up for a split second and never turns back on. It always happens whenever I insert the charger cable to it, not the HDMI.

Ok. I already solved it. Unfortunately my switch was already total 0% battery and its take time to detect it. I hold power 15 second and put it into dock. And wait for an hour. Finally its can play it again.

This is my kids’ switch & the dock suddenly stopped showing any light but still charged but a few days ago wasn’t doing a thing & the switch itself was so-called dead. I did what you said & the switch was 100% charged the whole time but wouldn’t come on. The light at that time would show a few seconds & stay off but now it’s working just fine. I really appreciate you for posting this video & those other people that verbally attacking you should be grateful that anyone thought of everyone enough to even make time to show us anything at all because you didn’t have to or would they prefer Nintendo telling them it’s out of warranty & they can’t help? Best of luck to those who are kind but it’s still not working.
I do have some new info on this topic but not quote enough to justify another video on the topic. Try changing your HDMI cable out for a different HDMI cable. Sometimes the HDMI cable included with the switch is faulty. Also make sure if you are taking the switch out of the dock that you wait a minimum of 2 minutes before pluging a charger into the switch , otherwise you will likely fry the Vbus and brick the switch. Also if you are using a portable charger for your switch make sure you are using a charging cable with a 56k ohm resistor otherwise the portible charger could brick the switch. And dont use any third party docks.

Bro. This worked for me. My problem was that the green light on the Doc would blink once and was not staying on. I tried updating the doc and the switch would not recognize when it was connected. I did exactly what was said in this video and I’m back in business!!! Thank you so much!!!!
Unplugging and plugging back the dock (either from the wall socket or from the plug inside) works too when that happen. It’s just weird it started randomly hapening now when I nevr had a problem like that before.
So i charged my switch using a android charger and now my switch doesnt work on the dock and the left side controller acts weird when playing mario kart causing the driver to go left all the time. Is there a way to fix my switch?

Thanks it worked actually,but after I disconnected everything I took a can of air for computers ..lol whatever it's called and blew out the parts on the dock itself so thank you
Just be carefully how you use those compressed air cans because if used improperly then can cause frost and condensation which is not good to get on your electronics for obvious reasons also if you are spraying it too close to the hardware it could cause the air pressure to break some of the solder points but that is unlikely.

The problem for me is that it works on the dock for about 30-40 minutes then it just randomly disconnects but has the green light still

My dock won't even charge the switch, let alone display on the TV. My switch gets no power from the dock whatsoever.

When I put in my doc it let's me play for a minute or 2 then it just completely turns off out of no where! And literally just a black screen.
