Glad it came back to life! Mine has been in a box with my other consoles for 6-7 months, I've been charging it for an hour or so. Did you have to reset the console? (holding 12 seconds the power button then tap it) Thanks in advance
@@cosme_f I didn’t have to reset it. Just had to be patient. Iv only had to do the reset a couple times when it froze up. Seems to be a common issue with these things
I haven't played my switch in months so I put it on charge for a week because I remember this happing to me with a ds but it still doesn't turn on, when it's on charge it flashes the power icon and it's fully charged and when I try to turn it on it shows the the Nintendo logo then it's gone, can anyone help?
This is also happening to me right now. It had already happened 2 years ago, but back then it fixed itself (no idea how), I left it alone for a couple of weeks and when I came back, charged it and tried to turn it on, it worked. This time, I've left it charging for the last 3 days and still nothing. Just shows the Nintendo logo for 2 or 3 seconds and shuts down.

Great video. Super helpful. Apparently my counting is a bit faster than a second as well, and I let go of the power button early. Good tip on counting to 15. Also, the kids and I were both stressed, and the narrator's soothing British voice helped us stay calm and carry on. 😉
@@marbelibot yes. All I have to do is hard reset it while plugged in. And then plug the charger in but turn it around and it instantly shows the Nintendo switch sign and turns on and charges very slowly.!
@Lewis Boss ya! So what I do is I hold the power button for 12 secs and then press it to turn it on. Then it shows The Nintendo logo and then after it goes away press the volume button and the power button at the same time for 12 secs again. (Make sure it has been plugged in the whole time) then flip the charger over. Then it should show the actual NINTENDO SWITCH logo. If this doesn’t work then try it again. Sometimes I have to do it in a different order if it doesn’t work. I hope this helps.

Hey were you able to fix it?
@@benedikth.9803 no it ended up being faulty and the charger fried the power supply I sent it back to get a refund
I was panicking that my nephew’s console was done for but the simple hard reset worked. Thank You very much
Thank you I was about to cry myself to sleep all I needed to do was a reset haha
Thanks for the help. I haven’t touched my Nintendo in 3 months! I turned to YT after my switch sat unresponsive on the charger for two hours. I didn’t know they had to slowly recharge after long periods of being neglected. 👍
I was panicking and all I had to do was reset it and it worked perfectly! Thank you so much.
I haven't played my switch in months so I put it on charge for a week because I remember this happing to me with a ds but it still doesn't turn on, when it's on charge it flashes the power icon and it's fully charged and when I try to turn it on it shows the the Nintendo logo then it's gone, can anyone help?
hard reset it
it will probably work
Kainen Watson i just bought a new charger finally i can play fortnite
This is also happening to me right now. It had already happened 2 years ago, but back then it fixed itself (no idea how), I left it alone for a couple of weeks and when I came back, charged it and tried to turn it on, it worked. This time, I've left it charging for the last 3 days and still nothing. Just shows the Nintendo logo for 2 or 3 seconds and shuts down.
@@MechPrime mine seems to have the same problem, I've put it on charge and no charging symbol comes on🤔 it lights up for 2 sec then off, nothing wrong with charger as phone works on it, hard reset does nothing? Not good. Did you get anywhere with yours??
@@antony29 Nope, still no luck with it yet. I've been away for a couple of days and put it on the charger again today, I'm going to try to leave it there for a day or two to see if it does anything. I'd hate to have to send it for repairs like this, I have some save data on Animal Crossing that isn't backed up, I really hope I can bring my Switch back from the dead at least once to get this sorted out.
I had this issue a long time ago buh I figured it out just by holding the power button
The resetting the charger tactic actually worked. Thanks!
5:12 SpawnWave will remember that.
thanks! i had a panic attack when my nintendo wouldn't charge, especially because it was a week after i got it.
I am a technican and fixed at least 30+ switch consoles at this point but your trick with replugging in the wall adapter just saved me from opening my personal console up
I threw out my old switch over these problems and now I just see this
Omg I forgot when it’s charging the power thing has a lightning bolt next to it- I panicked for no reason
Great video. Super helpful. Apparently my counting is a bit faster than a second as well, and I let go of the power button early. Good tip on counting to 15. Also, the kids and I were both stressed, and the narrator's soothing British voice helped us stay calm and carry on. 😉
Cheers mate, easy and simple. Saved me a lot of frustration !
The 2nd option worked just fine, my son is so happy. Thank you so much for the video.
I tried the 12 second reset and it showed the Nintendo sign and then it disappeared after like....4-5 seconds?
Mine is doing the same! Have you found a fix for it?
@@marbelibot yes. All I have to do is hard reset it while plugged in. And then plug the charger in but turn it around and it instantly shows the Nintendo switch sign and turns on and charges very slowly.!
IC clan Awesome, I’ll try that! Thank you for replying
Of course! Your welcome!
Thank you so much I got super worried that my switch was broken but thanks to you it works again hard reset works, thanks! Have a great day 😁
