The 1975 live version is fire, showcases each singer very well and you get to see the fun they were having on stage, not to mention the long pants and platform heels ha!
Don't know what that is, but I'd did prefer the Live at the Forum, version to the studio. O.K. tune. A shot of 3 Dog adrenaline.
The songwriter of this song is Laura Nyro. She’s an incredible writer and artist. Her voice is like no one else’s. Listen to her version, please.
Live version is 🔥
The first time I heard 'One' I was hooked on TDN. Three lead singers, Chuck Negron, Cory Wells and Danny Hutton. Fantastic harmonies plus their own band made for a fantastic sound.
Great jam and all their songs are great, listen to Easy to be Hard
You REALLY need to watch the live version from 1975. To have a band with not one, not two but 3 great lead singers is amazing. They had so much soul. So many great hits.
When it was part of the soundtrack of your youth you can't help but love it.
The live version was way better!!! Very entertaining and showcases their voices and personalities
Always loved 3 dog night. Took my little brother to see them in concert in hartford CT in 1970❤❤❤❤. Next should be live version of just an old fashion love song ❤❤
I LOOOVE this tune!
I have seen them about 10 times. They are so very good!
Laura Nero originally wrote and sang Eli’s Coming. You need to check her version out. Way better!
Another Laura Nyro tune that another band covered and had a hit with. Three Dog Night def one of the best cover bands of all time.
1975 live version of "Eli's Coming " is FIRE 🔥 REACT TO IT!!!!
My three dog night journey started in 1970
When I was 10 years old.
“ Joy to the world!”
My other favorite song was “ yellow submarine“
Saw them in the 70’s. Great performers
Yes please 🙏 do live versions. 7 members with 3 lead singers . Each took lead depending on the song and whose voice was best suited. Corey Wells passed away, Chuck Negron officially left the group in 1985. Danny Hutton is the only original singer left in the group. Saw him last year. Lead singer here is Corey, ( wearing fringe vest purple). Then Chuck Negron comes in (black vest, dark blue shirt). Danny Hutton (beige pants, white shirt, redish vest).
Three Dog Night was a smokin' hot group.
Great banger from the pen of Laura Nyro. She does a great job too as with all her songs.
"Liar" should be next. Please.
Saw them at the Poconos Rock festival in Long Pond Pa. in July 1972. Great band.
Three Dog Night covers many songs and most of the time they do them better. Evidence is they become top 10 hits. Many songs to do. Definitely worth spending more time with them. Enjoy!
Appreciate your review from this 70 year old guy, I loved it in high school but this has pretty much run its course by now. I still give it a very occasional listen though as part of a TDN PLAYLIST when in the mood.
Great song I remember this one way back .
Remember the age old saying "Three Dog Night = LIve every time". Thanks for sharing your videos!
Great song! Love TDN! Met Chuck Negron about 8 years ago on a 70's music cruise. Unfortunately he's on oxygen now, but a great guy and funny as hell!
Definitely react to "Hey Big Brother"! You will love it. Great reaction!
Love this song…I especially love the very beginning 👍👍👍
'Easy to be Hard', please, please, please. 🙏🏽 😊🤙🏼🎶❤️✨️🕊
Check out "Out In the Country", "One", and "Celebrate".
This is one of the first records I had when I was about 8 years old!
❤
Check out Family of Man from Harmony. Great album. Also has Never Been to Spain and Paul Williams’ Just an Old Fashioned Love Song. Let Me Serenade You and Shambala from Cyan are 🔥 too.
But I do love your honest reactions!!!
Listen to Black and White
Although I do like the song, I think you might want to try the original version by Laura Nyro. Her singing brings a lot more jazz, blues and nuance to it, with an amazing roller-coaster effect!
This is why I love watching your reactions! This was big in '69, the year I graduated HS, but I agree with your assessment - not there best effort.
Gotta do Laura Nyro's original of this, hell, do her whole playlist
Do the live. It will blow you away.
react to the song celebrate from 3 dog night uses the horns from the band chicago
The original is by Laura Nyro.
My favorite 3DN song, I think you’re missing something, Jerry. There is a video for this (NOT the live version) that you might like - I think it would grow on you.
A Music Video?
Try "One" or "Mama told me not to come".
I did both already
☮️💙💙💙🔥🔥😎happy 2024!
Happy New Year Fam
No autotune!
Thanks!
I love your honesty. Even though I like the song.
im not saying its a bad song just not for me
I love TDN. ❤❤❤❤❤
The next song is this one, but the Live version
Cory wells lead vocal.chuck nergron and danny hutton
Floyd sneed drums
Joe schmemie bass. Mike allsup guitar.jimmy greespoon keyboard.cory and Floyd are gone
They still play
You really want to listen to the original by Laura Nyro. This song is much more powerful when sung by a woman.
Please do more. Their catalog..."Eli's coming better hide your heart"....look up the lyrics. I hate that you didng like it. "Out in the Country. Laura Nyro is the song writer. You need to do more investigation to keep me coming back.
look i personally feel if a song is good there's no investigation needed thats not a genuine statement. when you first heard the song or any song on the radio its either you liked or not or some cases it grows on you.. but thanks for your comment tho
lol and why would anyone hate that someone else didn't like something. I mean i will listen again just to see if im missing something.
✨🫶🏼✨I Sooo Luv This Song‼️I Can See Where You Might Give it a Miss, cuz it Feels Like it Needs Another Verse or Two For The Story Line.✨🫶🏼✨☮️✨
Like you said - came out in '69 . so did Led Zeppelins first 2 albums ! enough said
Hell yeah😂❤❤
I remember the song but I don't remember it being so loose and unfocused. I somehow think there might be a much tighter radio version which would have hit you better. This strikes me as the album version with the weird intro and outro
😂😂
I think the point they were trying to make is that Eli was coming, rather than going, say, or just staying at home, which Eli is certainly willing and able to do, if the stories about Eli are true. His ability to do nothing at all was legendary. So if he was doing anything other than sitting on his ass, well that was a big deal indeed. Sound the trumpets! But this may sound cold, but it ain't 3 dog night cold. Maybe one dog night.
I love that explanation of the song
@@watchbizmatik Thanks brother. Love the show!
For me this is a chorus or refrain looking for a song.
I feel the way you do about it. It's my least favorite of their popular songs. Easy to Be Hard is way better imo
Everybody says the live version is better. I don’t think so.
What? He lies coming?
A miss for me!
Please please do live versions. 1975 TV version is the absolute best
This band is fire, but not to see them singing is a travesty!!!!
Not one of my favorites either
My least liked Three Dog Night song.
I never did like this one from Three Dog Night.
