Here I am, a 63 year old semi-retired old guy. Sitting here doing an expense report watching and listing to my 70's high school music when I noticed Wilburn's reaction video to one of my top 20 favorite bands of all times "Three Dog Night". If memory serves, it's from their album "Suitable for Framing" that I bought at Woolco back around 1970 on 8-track tape. I remember riding my Schwinn Stingray to get it. I absolutely love when the younger generation discovers and appreciates the music that I grew up with. "Took you to Church" I LOVE that analogy! I subscribed right then and there. Yeah, not many bands have 3 lead singers with that kind of vocal range. If you can find any let me know.
Picture this fantasy, Corey Wells (the blonde guy that started your church service) with Philip Bailey of Earth Wind & Fire singing the Bruno Mars hit Grenade with Bruno Mars. Talk about full church revival!!!
Great job Wilburn, you made my day!!!

The first singer was Cory Wells in the middle, then the 2nd singer was Danny Hutton on the left, the third is Chuck Negron on the right. Cory & Danny were always competitive; (that's why Danny held his note so long), they were the 2 that started the band, but the competitiveness took a toll on their friendship. Ironically, they were the last 2 of the 3 left for quite a few decades, as Chuck had heavy drug abuse problems; he finally conquered his demons; he said himself he shouldn't be alive. Chuck is a drug counselor for the youth now. RIP, Cory; we lost him in 2015. React to "Out in the Country", "One" and "Liar". And if you've ever heard of Australian singer Jeff Farnham (if you haven't, you need to), he does a mean "One"; the only other singer that I think can carry that song! Peace.

The studio recording did not have that super long intro. That was something they did in live concert. Amazing singing. Got very nostaglic sering that hair and clothes. Boy, we thought we so cool back in the day.

More than any other Band besides The Guess Who that deserve the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. Breaks my heart that they're still not in.

I love when people react to good live performances, I always want to see then sing and play. These older singers did not have auto tune to hod the note on key for them, and some like these guys were extraordinary. Cheers

This performance was filmed live in 1975 on the show “Soundstage”. The 40+ minute show has their most recognized songs as well as you get to see just how funny they were, it’s really a great show. This is a band that had 3 lead singers, which is mostly unheard of in the 70’s. Cory Wells who sings lead on this song has sadly passed away, but Chuck Negron (brown hair & smokin’ mustache) & Danny Hutton (curly dark hair & the clown of the band) are still alive. I highly recommend checking this show out! ✌️☮️

Well Finally you got to this group after 6 months of requesting.....knowing....KNOWING...that you like good music...great vocals.....and great lyrics......finally you get to one of my all-time favorite Rock n' Roll Bands which change my life in 1968 with this song, Eli's Coming and literally introduced me to Rock n' Roll from my R & B Jazz Blues upbringing.......and I have seen them in concert 4 times....Excellent...but the audios I would listen to first.....also check out "Woman(audio version)." by Three Dog Night....very soulful. It is FIRE!!!!

Back when I was in the 8th grade in the late sixties, this was my favorite song. Though the band has changed completely over the years, they are still touring today.

They have many openings for this song. Saw them in the cotton bowl in 71. The three front men were in the stands and auditioned for the lead. Very fun and creative.

That song (I'm an 'old-man now') hit the charts without that intro, because radio songs had to be short (3 min) BUT MAN... this rendition is fire! Thank you Mr. Wilburn!

very ironic that I listened and loved every song of this very talented band, then 6 years later, my son named my grandson "Eli". without knowing that I loved this band....

First concert I saw. I was in 5th grade in 1971. I had a very progressive teacher who took the class to see as a "school trip". She would have assignments like newspaper drives for recycling. For the top 5 who accumulated the most she would have a special event foe them. For example, one was to see Scrooge at Radio City Music Halll during Christmas time. This was in NYC of course. Then because it was at night those students slept at her small apartment in Manhattan. My school was in Queens. With the signed parents permission. Can you imagine that happening now. Because I was an excellent speller, and she was so busy doing things outside the scope of a usual teacher, I marked the spelling test every week. I won the spelling bee contest. She was unorthodox but because of that the most influential teacher in my life. She suggested me as a candidate fo a special progress program in Junior High school. I was accepted. So I didn't have to attend my freshman year in high school. I was allowed to skip it.

This song was written by Laura Nyro. Three Dog Night does a great job, but the feel of it is very different when Laura Nyro sings it. It's very much more ethereal.
