After about a year since this game got cancelled, i decided to make it open source as well as commenting on the content present in the final build
An original Mega Man X game is in the works, but it's hard to tell how far it will get in development.
Some key info the game i can give at the moment is:
    - The game will be based on the SNES MMX games
    - X and Axl will be the main focus
    - Game takes place between X7 and X8
    - The game will have emphasis on speed, set pieces and replayability
Mega Man X Code Red is not affiliated with CAPCOM in any way.
Mega Man X and all Mega Man/Rockman material are owned by CAPCOM.

A real shame. We don't see many fangames in 32 bits AND with Axl. I was really excited to see it come to fruition.

  • @JoLiKMC

I'm glad you canceled this. (Hear me out.) Everyone was lauding the

Very nice dude, thks so much for releasing this. Coincidentally, i had said a few days ago in public, referring to the fangame creators who gave up on their projects, if they all released the sources so that other developers could eventually continue the development, we would already have at least five projects completed.

better to allow the project going open source and prevent things getting lost, to anyone whom wish to continue and possibly make a complete 32 bit X7 I wish you and/or your team luck.

  • @lowchaomain4535

very sad to see Code Red leave, but also very excited for your upcoming X project. good luck on your future endeavors!

  • @tronixchl2004

Hope someone with talent takes the Open source and does something cool with.... if not, i'll save it in my hard drive and work on it in 4 years

  • @feesh6597

IDK why but Axl just squashing and stretching while trying to crouch is the funniest thing I've ever seen.

  • @Chrisezo

As someone who grew up playing X7, I always thought that the idea of it ever receiving a 2D remake was a bit silly, because as you also wrote in your video at one point, the 3D segments and AXL were the only new additions that X7 brought to the series, and losing the 3D segments would basically make it lose its identity, what I always hoped for would have happened instead, is that a group created something like the Megaman X5 or X6 addendum rom hack, to make tweaks such as making Zero's saber attacks faster and that sort of stuff, and if they also let you use the japanese dub instead of that awful english dub similar to what the X Legacy collection 2 did, then that would have also been a bonus, as after playing the addendum versions of X5 and X6 I feel that they have become fixed and are actually very enjoyable, instead of the buggy unfinished playable messes that they used to feel like, and I can also say the same for the X3 Zero project romhack too, as that game went from being my least favorite SNES game, to becoming my favorite SNES X game since I can play with Zero from start to finish, and with the new game plus mode that had been added to that, I can enjoy having Golden Armor X with the beam saber, in the same save file as black armored Zero.

As developer myself, I understand the frustation of being in development hell.. but i still want to say thank you for sharing to all us. for us who was borned during 2000s we all keep imagining how cool if megaman can do this and that.. seeing able to switch between zero and x itself was so cool. hope all the best for the future

Alas, this great game doesn't end with a bang, but with Axl's Squished Idle Sprite...

  • @MegaMacTV

As much as I still believe that your approach to completely revamp X7 was the correct direction, it's good to see you haven't left making games entirely. Hopefully someone with the know-how can continue Code Red while you make the fantastic-looking new game the best it can be!

  • @Gokuless

Now that was some great work, kinda sad Core Red was cancelled and so the other Score Attack project, but i'm happy you're feeling more comfortable with this new project you're on.
