Imagine that; we live in an age now where we can take the games from our past and improve the mistakes of the initial developers to our liking. Kudos to N for all the hard work that went into making these patches. Mega Man is one of my favorite series of all time, and I played these games a million times - but this will be the perfect way to revisit them.
Fun fact: Flame Hyenard (and most of the Voice Acting issues) are not as egregious in the Japanese dub. His "Burn to the ground" has a more reasonable volume and the phrase is shorter so it's *slightly* less annoying
Actually the JP version of X7 didn't have problem of enemies being tankier. It's EN version of X7 for what reason had tampered damage table of all playable characters so they dealt less damage than intended.
I wonder if it's a case of US side of Capcom testing it and going "this game is too short, the gamers will have our head for being able to clear it in a day- stretch it out, no matter the cost!" And the quickest way to do that was to just pump up some numbers in the code.
Seriously!? No wonder that critique felt alien when I'd 100% would've noticed something like that. I played the Japenese version cause I'm a hopeless weeb and I'm glad that sometimes has its rewards. I guess enemies were a little on the brittle side all things considered, but the alternative sounds awful.

X7 has a rock solid foundation in terms of its ideas - and out of all the Mega Man series, the X series is possibly the most suited to making the jump to 3D. It's just... That execution. It's hard to botch something that bad. I want to know what even another month or two of development could have done for the original game.
@@AsureyX I mean that the X series and its mechanics should translate really well to 3D. Zero's style in particular should be frantic and fast-paced. Default X7 isn't even bad in a janky, funny and kind-of-endearing way - it's tedious and worst of all, boring. But with even a moment's thought - the X moveset should translate to 3D really well. And 8/10 or a 10/10 action game should have been a given. But the X series was clearly just getting new entries to milk it for whatever it was worth, and that killed the franchise.

It's nice to see an fanmade game worked on an game that originally was so bad and turned it into an alright game. It's no Sonic P-06. But it's decent and more playable than the original was. Now there's Mega Man X8 Demake. That one was cool since it's X8, but in the SNES style. While I thought the original X8 was good enough, Demake made it so much better. If they can demake X7 as like they did with X8, that would be cool.
At first I thought people were gonna write off X7 after playing it, but thankfully romhacking software became so much better to allow PS2 romhacks. So glad to finally see X7 get the much needed renovation it's been needing for 20 years!
Where should I start if i want to learn the basics of rom hacking? I know a little bit of C and java but what I would like to know is what tools I need to mod something I heard many devs started by rom hacking games so I want to learn too.
@@ChronoMoogle Decent is such a strong word. MAYBE cutscenes and dialogue are less cringe, I didn't notice anything too awful, but even if your characters do basically double the damage you're used to it still is the worst Megaman game in existence. Without patches, Japanese version is the best way to play the game. With patches, the one introduced here. Overall, play X7 once in your life if you're morbidly curious and never go back to it again.
One shame about this being made off the PS2 version instead of the PC LC version is that selecting Japanese voices only changes the cutscenes and you're stuck with the dub for gameplay, and the vocal songs from the Japanese version aren't available. This version is nearly definitive, but the presentation is ever so slightly better on a modded Legacy Collection. Gameplay is absolutely improved though
Basically this game for megaman was what 06 been towards sonic's? Don't know weather the universe keeps playing cruel jokes, but niether want Doug Walker being right about something!
06 isnt as hard to fix as X7. I havent watched the video yet and I never heard of this project but EVERYTHING about X7 is awful and 06 had good elements.
X6 Tweaks fixed X6 a lot more, it turned a mess into a fun experience. X6 Tweaks is brutal, but it's still fun. X6 still has fun gameplay at its core, and the IDEAS Are fine, but the execution is trash. Tweaks alters the execution of enough parts of the game so that it's not so bad to play anymore, but we still have metal shark player and blaze heatnix and secret lab 2 to deal with, but i'll take three dogshit stages over 12. also, it fixes the bugs and allows you to unlock Black Zero normally! and god, playing as Zero feels so good in X6, somehow better than in X4.
I've played both X6 tweaks and LC rookie hunter. Tweaks is better by a landslide; it actually improves level design, boss patterns, and so on, while rookie hunter just makes you die less easily.
There's definitely a lot that can be done to fix things up from a narrative perspective. If the code allowed for it, I'd love to see a rewrite happen. Instead of X just giving up, he could be a CO and work with Axl until he's ready to come back to action. Maybe instead of Red setting loose the Mavericks to challenge the Hunters for Axl, they could have Red seemingly go Maverick, but for his own gain rather than Sigma, but Red would be basically a Jekyl and Hyde thing with Sigma, like an upgraded Sigma Virus. Maybe Zero could be less trusting of Axl and X would see some potential in him, but he'd have to get over his hot dogging attitude. And of course, the game would need to be recast and redubbed to make it work, so that's why I'm wondering if the code would even allow it. I'll also say that X7 deserves a demake like what X8 is getting. Maybe the team based thing is replaced with a selection like in X5? Axl would play like Bass like in X8? Anyone could collect capsule data and send it to Douglas to prep X's new armor? X could have a prologue moment where he sees that he went too far and leaves active duty? It's there, man. The potential is there!
The actual story with Red and Axl (that you only get when you have the original translation and the X7 OST short prequel story) is good. Basically, Axl has a mysterious draw toward X (he can sense him, like Zero can) and an instinctive hatred toward Mavericks, even if he doesn't remember why he has those two things. The X Compendium says that Axl has a Learning System just like Zero, to keep piling on to the oddities. Red is in-universe rumored to have maybe been part of the Repliforce mercenary corps, and Axl knows about that rumor but not if it's true, as Red won't talk about it. (This explains Red's disdain toward the Hunters.) Red isn't just setting loose the Mavericks as a challenge: he's trying to sabotage Sigma-- Red and Axl have an established brother-like bond and trusted each other with their life, which is lost in the English shoddy translation work. Red very much ALLOWED Axl to leave Red Alert when Red stepped over a line, because he was already aware that Red Alert had been infected by the Sigma Virus. By pushing violently and threatening the world like that, Red pushed Axl to stay with the Maverick Hunters AND to go and force Axl and the Hunters to take out Red Alert before Sigma could properly take control of them. The chip in that suitcase that they recover in the intro cutscene from Cedar and Aluce is a chip containing the "Sigma-02 Virus, Class-S contraband" according to the short prequel story in the OST, and that's how Axl got Sigma's attention onto Red Alert-- by busting one of Sigma's virus-disseminating operations. There's a perfectly fine story there that's centered around Axl and Red to tell, it's just that it's lost in the supplementary materials and the crap english translation work typical of the games before Inti-Creates actually made Capcom try caring.
dawg if Battle Stadium D.O.N. can get a dub patch, so can X7. All we need is enough money to get the VAs who were in other Capcom games from this era...and by that I mean the gaggle of 6ix Gods who did the voices in RE2 thru RE0 and the Mega Man Legends games among other shit

Edit: So, his name is actually Reploid Revo. Oh, wow. Apparently, there are problems. I found videos of people talking about him. I didn't find the channel in the search.
@@neoqwerty >mysterious draw toward X Fuel for Cossack/Gate creator theories >instinctive hatred toward Mavericks Clear signs of him being an escaped experiment >has a Learning System just like Zero Why does he need that when he has A-trans? To compensate for his limited copy abilities?
From a game perspective, nothing will justify X7 sidelining the title character. That said, this is the one thing I'm applauding it for, thematically. X has been anti-violence since the very first game. I like that he finally took a stand and said enough, and I like that it took rescuing that many reploids to bring him back. I don't remember much else from X7's story. There wasn't anything worth any strong feelings, and it must be said I didn't hate Axl at all. This is one of the rare times where a full demake would make the game actually a worthy entry.
@@MaoRattoI’ve been a fan for the many installments of the series since 1993. I can confirm Mega Man isn’t incorrect. In Japan or other countries the official title is Rock Man, but because we are using Western social media and the review is for the Western or English speaking audiences, Mega Man isn’t incorrect to use. More audiences in America recognize that version of the name than Rock Man, which will garner more notice on this particular platform - which the uploader is speaking in English. As for the “fans” thing, it isn’t wrong ether. I can’t speak for others, but I myself have been wishing for a fan made remake countering major shortcomings of X7 for years. I’m glad someone had the skills, resources and time to do it. But ugh, see this is why I disconnect from the Western fandom. Most of you all are so nippy about everything looking to instigate conflicts on every little thing. 😂
Sad part is that the game fundamentally just sucks. It's not like X5 or X6 with a strong foundation that had fixes that while minor were transformative. I will stand by the X7's OST though. It feels like an X series take on the Mega Man 8 DnB centric sound and I love MM8's music.
My biggest problem with X7 is X’s attitude. He’s so whiny and anti violence that his main voice prefab for the charge shot is literally him screaming “STOP!!” Terrible voice casting for him as well.
“God, these are the stupidest Mavericks in series history” I spat out my coffee when you said that! I love when you occasionally drop these hilarious moments! 😂
Are you familiar with a certain Quarter Guy perchance? A lot of his Top 15 Worst Mavericks video is just ripping into X7's lineup! (And that's not even getting into his Dragnet-style trashing of X7 as a Patreon milestone video!)
I never understood how X7 ended up so bad in the first place. The Mega Man series has always been known for fast paced action and precise movement. X7 has none of that anywhere. I was SO excited when it came out, then so let down when I finally got to play it. Looking forward to giving this improvement hack a try.
My experience with X7 ended with me clipping through the floor in Anteater's stage after getting lost for multiple minutes because that stages is just a nightmare in general. After not saving for a while. Also this game lacks a death plane in places you aren't "supposed" to be able to fall. I should also mention this is the only PS2 game I own. For all the weird crap about me, somehow this feels the fakest, saying it out loud.
One thing I've always hated in that game is the pace of the characters' run vs. distance they moved. It looks like they're running on ice. I was kinda disappointed that it wasn't changed in the patch.
Dude this is such an awesome video. It reminded me of why I subscribed to you in the first place. 2 years ago I bought my first apartment and was suffering with pretty bad depression and isolation from the pandemic, so I felt nostalgic and bought the legacy x collection and the mega man zero collection. It made me remember such a staple of my childhood and I went on an adventurous binge watching mega man content. Eventually I stumbled onto your channel and became obsessed! You had so many of the same experiences I had with gaming! Some of my personal favorites was watching you go over the sonic riders games, and resident evil. I haven’t seen your channel in a minute but it’s great to see you’re growing and still making content!
Honestly, you'd most likely have to record the lines from scratch with an entirely new voice cast and direction. There are some ROM hacks with good fandubs _(Bulk Slash_ being a particularly notable standout), but they are *very* few and far between.
i dont want it fixed. to me its part of those early 00s "so bad its good" voice acting like X4 and MM8 or RE1. its terrible and cringe and i couldnt love it more. BURNTOTHRGROUNDBURNBURNBURN!

@@saphcal For the games you mentioned (MM8, X4 and RE1), I gave those a pass cause it was the 90's and dubbing at the time was pretty rough regardless of it was a video game or an anime (like the Ocean dub of DBZ). I would like to believe that Hyenard in Japanese would be less annoying. Turns out that the Japanese voice actor is shouting out the same words (more or less) so the frequency at which these words are spoken fall solely on Capcom. Your opinion is valid.
Surprised you decided to cover this! It is like, better, but, it's still X7 no matter what you do, it is the optimal way to play it if you HAVE to I guess. Megaman fans man, passionate people, to be fair, not a lot of new Megaman stuff coming out so makes sense they mod and do new cool fan stuff. Not a mod but i'm more excited about the Megaman X8 demake, i played the beta, its like, 90% complete or something, but im not sure if its gonna cover the tag system and stuff like that, maybe it will i'll be impressed, but even if it is just X, what i played was so goddamn fun, there's something so charming about the SNES sprite style, so seeing X8 done in that way was very cool. Honestly, i'd be down if Capcom did the same they did with Megaman 9 and 10, but with X. Tho' it'd be a bit funny if they did it with X9 and X10 cause it mirrors the same exact numbers.
In retrospect, I’m really not disappointed that you can’t play as MegaMan initially a pun starting the game. Once you master the game with Axl and Zero mega man has already been unlocked. The hardest part is realizing that you have to maximize zeros special attack so that you can tank through the game. The other hard part is realizing that you need to get the RPG launcher so that axel can easily defeat bosses. I would say that you need to play through this game at least twice before you’ll have enough upgrade points to make the best of any of these three characters. I took it as a challenge to make each character 100%. Once each character has 100% of their power, progressing, this game is a breeze.
Actually you can play it in 4K DX12 and in WSAD keys on PC, i`m also working on a patch for this game but for the korean port, i`ll make a tutorial any day to teach people how to run without errors and later i plan to release the SND folder patch, i`m remixing and equalizing each song and sfx of this game individually
I already sort of like this game as a guilty pleasure, so it's nice to know that there's finally a version that removes the slower parts of this game so I can replay it more often.
I understand why everybody hates MegaMan X7. The first time I played MegaMan X7 it was after playing through the other MegaMan games sequentially starting from the very first game onwards to mega man X8. I understand the problems people have with this game. The boss fights are too difficult and last too long. Most of your playtime, you’ll be struggling against the camera view angles. Mega Man X isn’t initially playable. And the level design is a bit lazy. But despite the fact that I was initially anxious about playing this game and didn’t want to play it, I ended up beating it and then I had to play through another 10 times in a row in order to unlock everything. The only other mega man game I played more times than x7 was x8 because they set the prices of all the items ridiculously high. I played through X8 at least 12 times in a row - I mastered the game even on hard mode. Getting through Sigma’s Palace initially gave me high anxiety, but eventually, I was able to hop those spikes like I was a blade runner. I honestly don’t consider Megaman X7 to be the worst of the series. If I had to pick the worst of the series, it would probably be MegaMan X6. That game feels unfinished, isn’t tested properly to ensure that it actually works properly and it should have been better considering X4 and X5 came before it.
A guide I found suggested to apply N's Edition patch and also use a gamepad with turbo toggles (for manually enabling and disabling rapid fire on the fly when switching to Axl or X) and increase the CPU speed to 1.1x (in emulator). It was really fun, and for the first time I finished this game.
Honestly, as a kid I did notice some of the big flaws X7 had (Burn to the ground!) But honestly it's one of my fav games ever and a huge part of my childhood! I play so many songs from its soundtrack all the time, straight bangers!
I just hope someone takes this as an incentive to do a P06 to X7 or at least upgrading N's version to be even better, i honestly dont know how besides maybe changing the frequency of boss lines (if possible) and dividing the last level in 2
I hope Capcom had a dev bible put together for Legends 3. If they did, the fans can put together their own Legends 3, since the official project will never get made, and Inafune's own Red Dash looks like it's dead.
If a few things were done X7 would've been a lot better: camera, X playable immediately, better or no voice acting, fast loading, & keeping X's character. These changes should've been in the base game as no additional work by Capcom

I really hope someone makes an X7 & X8 16-bit de-make, so that I can complete them and come to a closure of the series. The two 3D games on the PS2 were atrocious! Stopped playing them after 30 mins!
I really appreciate these retrospectives on your previous video, as a harsh critic, to this one reflecting on how the community has tried to make X7 a more enjoyable experience that encourages people to try 'em.
im just glad X5-X7 got some love lately while X1-X3 and X8 getting some improvements (X8's SNES style "demake" comes to mind especially sadly its only playable as X currently) anyways not sure if X4 got any mods though
DMC2 & MMX7 being fixed in one year, huh? Not long after Project 06 is essentially done? We'll never see official remakes of bad games so I like this trend.
I hope this project continues to be worked on, but I hope someone pulls a Project 06 on this game and just rebuild it from the ground up to allow for even bigger QOL changes or fixes. I really think X7 has potential to be something good (outside the story and voice acting) if more big things were added.
I wouldn't want to play this patch in an all-or-nothing way. Like some things I can agree with like making the Heart and Weapon Tanks just apply to everyone since making them separate was already stupid in X5 and X6, but for my position I don't really need or want the game to be easier because it's already not terribly difficult in the first place.
Next video sounds hype! I will honestly say I love X8... not as much as most of the other games, but its still a solid transition to 3D for mega man X... too bad X7 existed lol.
Honestly with how shitty the original X7 was, even if N's Edition didn't outright fix or remove so many of the flaws the inaugural product suffered from, it's still a mark improvement and pretty impressive work.
I already enjoyed every game as they were. I was just passionate to take my time with them. But man oh man, the PS2 games really needed a patch that it couldnt have
A 16-bit X-8 demake, you say? Ohhh, consider me intrigued. Incidentally, I feel like a demake for X7 could be interesting as well. Like, yeah, there is no way for the Mavericks not to suck, but, y'know, you take the good with the bad.
I feel like even with these fixes selling X7 would be hard. If it can be beaten in 2 and a half hours, whereas games like Ratchet and Clank, the first one, could be done in 12 or Devil May Cry 1 in 6 (all stats fetched from that one page where people post their finishing stats), it may be that they gave the game those massive health bars exactly because they wanted to draw it out a little longer.
For me the menus were the worst part of X7, navigation was so slow and clunky. Also It was impossible to check how many Energy+1 has every character, you could only check the heart tanks.
I don't think this game can be fixed without reworking the whole game (redesigning bosses, rewriting the entire plot, script, AND voice cast, reworking levels, and most importantly, changing controls), but without going that far, this seems like probably the best improvement patch that can be made. Kudos to the guy for trying.
Glad to see that even when the developers gave up and threw games into the trash, there will always be people who look at those games and say, "I can do better."
Call me crazy but as someone who has been playing Megaman since the age of 3 on the og black and white heavy brick we called a GameBoy, I rank the X games as 1.X1 2.X4 3.X2 4.X3 5.X7 6.X5 7.X8 8.X6 (and I own the original copies for every megaman game(megaman and bass, battle network, command mission, ect)thanks to awesome parents). With that being said, I wish this game came out like this revised version. I will not ever play it this way because I go full no-life mode pc gaming and I got a family now. I can go a week without the XBox no problem and get a few hours in on the weekend. I understand people's gripes with X7 but it just hit 12 year old me differently. My besty asked if I still have my PS2 a few months ago so I let him have it. I also gave him every game I owned for it. He got hyped when he saw the anniversary collection and flipped out when he saw X7. We just thought it was sooo awesome when it was new and spent hours trying to clear. No saves on every attempt. Play taking turns on lives till clear or till we decided to do something else.
This game was always awesome to me. Never hated it like everyone else. Honestly never understood the hate. I dont need Ns edition to enjoy the game but i would like to try it.
I never even knew this existed and I loved MegaMan growing up. I kinda eventually gave up after the series became meh and mighty no9 flopped as the successor. The 3d looks nice and better than the Ps1/2 games
Shame the animations weren't fixed. The animations make the characters look slower than they actually are. I know coding and animation replacements are two different skill sets. But animation fixes would improve a lot on how characters feel. Even if it is aesthetics. I had the same problem with p06
I love these "fixes" as a concept but I do wish they'd either skip some of the more arbitrary decisions or leave them up to the end user. Changing weaknesses in an update/remake is a real pet peeve of mine, even when it's from an official production like Mega Man Powered Up. I feel like the game is trying to trick me and it ends up souring the experience.

Where should I start if i want to learn the basics of rom hacking? I know a little bit of C and java but what I would like to know is what tools I need to mod something I heard many devs started by rom hacking games so I want to learn too.
@@reynauldwhistles2338 I would guess RUclips since you can learn just about anything on here.
No one tell J that enemies have double life in all international versions.
Wait, so the Japanese original is actually decent?
@@ChronoMoogle Decent is such a strong word. MAYBE cutscenes and dialogue are less cringe, I didn't notice anything too awful, but even if your characters do basically double the damage you're used to it still is the worst Megaman game in existence.
Without patches, Japanese version is the best way to play the game. With patches, the one introduced here. Overall, play X7 once in your life if you're morbidly curious and never go back to it again.
I might be wrong, but I think he already mentioned that in the 2022 review of the game.
There's an undub patch that is compatible with the N's Edition.
@@swosho I had no ideas I'll have to check that out
Basically this game for megaman was what 06 been towards sonic's? Don't know weather the universe keeps playing cruel jokes, but niether want Doug Walker being right about something!

@@noahalcantar2431. Whatever you say buddy.
@@erikbihari3625 It did. Im literally saying that X7 has no good aspects. Its the worst Capcom-made Mega Man game.
Well time to spam Quarter Guy’s comment section for him to play this.
3:08 to be fair rookie hunter mode might as well be an official fix for x7 and x6
Bro forgot about it, lol.
I even thought that it made X8 a lot more bearable
@@alicevioleta3184 I'd say it's due to X6's rushed development more than poor execution.
I've played both X6 tweaks and LC rookie hunter. Tweaks is better by a landslide; it actually improves level design, boss patterns, and so on, while rookie hunter just makes you die less easily.
They fixed p06 , sonic free riders so I'm not surprised at all anymore lol
Every boss might as well have been weak to Splash Laser in the original, since the charged variant took out 1/4 of their healthbars in most cases.
Yeah, the “speedrun” is just “use Zero to Raijinshou every boss as fast as possible” lol.
It was always the electric tornado that was OP and killed most of the bosses
After more than a decade of youtubers criticizing shitty games, I love these videos on fan improvement projects. I hope to see more.
(This explains Red's disdain toward the Hunters.)
Red isn't just setting loose the Mavericks as a challenge: he's trying to sabotage Sigma-- Red and Axl have an established brother-like bond and trusted each other with their life, which is lost in the English shoddy translation work.
There's a RUclipsr who talked about what's wrong with the Mega Man X games and suggestions how to do it. I think that his name is ReploidVevo. I'm not sure what his name is. Edit: So, his name is actually Reploid Revo. Oh, wow. Apparently, there are problems. I found videos of people talking about him. I didn't find the channel in the search.
@@neoqwerty
>mysterious draw toward X

Why does he need that when he has A-trans? To compensate for his limited copy abilities?
From a game perspective, nothing will justify X7 sidelining the title character.
That said, this is the one thing I'm applauding it for, thematically. X has been anti-violence since the very first game. I like that he finally took a stand and said enough, and I like that it took rescuing that many reploids to bring him back.
I don't remember much else from X7's story. There wasn't anything worth any strong feelings, and it must be said I didn't hate Axl at all. This is one of the rare times where a full demake would make the game actually a worthy entry.
So is this basically Mega Man X fans Project 06?
And the third in a trilogy of X5 and X6 Tweaks
Rockman not Megaman. Also add fan's not fans. You are writing about something they posess not simply multiple fans.
@@MaoRatto Did you really just correct someone calling Mega Man...Mega Man?
@@MaoRatto This is why no one loves you
Nice to know that the MegaMan fanbase also has the drive to improve upon the major problems in the most negatively received games like X7.
He does this in Japanese too, despite still being voiced by his X4 VA.
“God, these are the stupidest Mavericks in series history”
I spat out my coffee when you said that!
For all the weird crap about me, somehow this feels the fakest, saying it out loud.
the guy literally dive himself into a pool of human waste X7 shat on, and fix it.
The legend.
Sonic 06 - D-tier -> S-tier
Sonic Free Riders - F-tier -> C-tier
MegaMan X7 - E-tier -> C-tier

What??? I was about to publish my megaman video!!!
Yes, please make that vid on MMX romhacks someday, I think it would be neat to see thoughts from a unified source on all of the more popular ones.
It's going to take dark sorcery to fix flame hyenard's voice track.

Imagine we got that for X4 and X7 but it's guys from Toronto and/or Calgary, the places where four years' worth of Capcom games and two years worth of just Mega Man games were recorded respectively.
however, I doubt they'll do it for free this time.
2:36 It is playable on the actual PS2 hardware, not just PCSX2
I wonder if MMBN 4 would get *fixed*?
If it would I really want to see the generic scenarios be replaced by unique navi scenarios from the other game.
J's Reviews, Your videos always brighten my day, so I subscribed!
Way to throw off your audience, J... expecting _Mega Man 7_ instead of _Mega Man X7._

This is the only Megaman X game that I refused to play, I played and enjoyed all the others from X to X6 didn't play X7 and played X8
I think N's Edition is a way to make X7 fun!
Just like X6 has Tweaks to make it more polished.
This reminds me of someone making a better Abridged series than the original. There is only so much you can do to improve it.
now we just need audio from the fanmade X7 dialogue redub and this will be perfect

Honestly, as a kid I did notice some of the big flaws X7 had (Burn to the ground!) But honestly it's one of my fav games ever and a huge part of my childhood! I play so many songs from its soundtrack all the time, straight bangers!
I was thinking about remakes of X6 and X7, and I always thought the X6 one would be called “MMX6: Dream Edition” to contrast the Nightmare Virus
Hope one day we find a way to implant it into Megaman X LC2 then all the improvement project will be the best.
Can't believe they kept "burn to the ground"
Undub: Not on my watch
If a few things were done X7 would've been a lot better: camera, X playable immediately, better or no voice acting, fast loading, & keeping X's character. These changes should've been in the base game as no additional work by Capcom
I loved this game as a kid in the blockbuster era

A 16-bit X-8 demake, you say? Ohhh, consider me intrigued.
Incidentally, I feel like a demake for X7 could be interesting as well. Like, yeah, there is no way for the Mavericks not to suck, but, y'know, you take the good with the bad.
Code Red: Ummm
Demake: About that ..........
"They got cancelled" :(
Oh wow just like project-06 they did the same thing with X7? Neat, now I can experience the game with the patch.
Remember Mordin in Mass Effect 2? He said modifying the genophage was harder than making it from scratch.
Hats off to this guy.
"These are the stupidest Mavericks in X history"
Except for Warfly. He's pretty badass. (And maybe Crowrang)
The rest are pretty shit though.

A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
im so glad that the fans are stepping in and fixing X3,X5,X6 and X7!
Shame the animations weren't fixed. The animations make the characters look slower than they actually are.
I know coding and animation replacements are two different skill sets. But animation fixes would improve a lot on how characters feel. Even if it is aesthetics. I had the same problem with p06
I always thought it would be cool if the 3d segments of X7 were first person shooter style.
