Usually in Pokemon games you don't need to level up your pokemon to level 100 until the post game. Some games have easy ways to level up fast or get XP candies like in Sword and Shield, but how do we level up fast in Scarlet and Violet with no badges at all? Today we will be speedrunning to level 100 in Pokemon scarlet!

Try beating your rival at the very end of the game her level 85 team will solo your team of level 100s
Just curious, is local play allowed for these types of things? I bought scarlet twice, one for a second user and the bundle for my main user, and that’s it.
The high level raids (5+) are best handled at Lv. 100. So the game does offer a reason to do so. Especially 6+ where the opposing levels are 90 and 100.
Float stone has no effect on low kick. Low kick's power is only determined by the opponent's weight.
But doesnt float stone make the pokemon weigh less
@@allen2reckless676it does, however he was correcting a part where PapaSea said that his Flamigo holding the Float Stone made his Flamigo’s low kicks do more damage
@@allen2reckless676 Yes, the float stone makes Flamigo weigh less. But Flamigo's weight has no effect on the base power of low kick. Only the opposing Pokemon's weight matters.
@@allen2reckless676 it does, It affects when the opponent is low kicking you, but if you're using it there's no effect
@@romanphilson9275 oh i never got through to that part of the video
I powerleveled by farming the herds of Paldean Tauros everywhere. They give a lot of XP and if you outspeed them you can KO them pretty easily. Ive never run into a Chansey and only found a few low-level Happiny, so it was the best i had.
Normal type encounter power 2 near the lighthouse up north, if u need to level up another mon

@@crunchybanana252 Sandwich #34, it's such a good place to EV train for Raids too because you almost always want HP EVs
As I recall, there is a way you can skip the beginning tutorial, which locks you out of all the main story. Since this challenge doesn't allow for that anyway, it would be perfect!
Hard to determine if ~30mins of tutorial or not having the legendary to run around on is better tho
That's a glitch iirc
PaPaSea: Giving us answers for questions we didn't ask for but needed either way
1:38, for just a few frames, is the beautiful T-pose glitch from the intro cutscene in the game. My absolute favorite glitch in the game!
Azumarill might be the best for this because it's in the fast level up group
I really appreciate your dedication! Congrats on finally finishing this I guess xP
Pretty sure Float Stone doesn't have any effect on Low Kick, simply because Low Kick's Base Power isn't calculated based on weight difference between user and target, and only on the weight tier of the target. Meaning it would have been better to get a Black Belt (though I'm not sure if you can get one without any gym badges).
Tarountula is prob the best pokemon for this, you get it early, it can learn low kick and its the erratic xp group which needs like half the xp that flamigo does
Late to the party, but the optimal Pokemon for this type of challenge are ones in the "erratic" exp group as they only need 600k experience to hit level 100, which 459k less than Flamigo. Swablu/Altaria would have been great options for this as you can get Swablu pretty early in West Province Area One (which is just up the road from the Cortondo)
Pretty sure it would be faster to find a zangoose asap and use that instead. Also very good at taking out chanseys, but more importantly it needs by FAR the least amount of experience in the entire game
Backwards Long Jump is a glitch, or at the very least unintended, since they they let you get to areas before you are supposed to.
You could have used it to get to areas that you wrote off since they require climbing, since BLJ lets you get up them.
That Gen 1 grind… kids today just don’t get it
With all of Gens 1 and 2 being on 3DS... oh god, yes I do.
You mean duping the rare candy on the coast of Cinnabar? XD
They don't understand the grind we had to do just to get to the elite four. Now they have exp candies. Don't get me wrong, they're absolutely lovely, but it's like sitting down an older person and showing them something that they had to work for, but a younger generation is doing it with ease and even making fun of how easy it is. It's like that, if that makes sense. What I'm saying is that the younger generations don't know how hard we had to work just to get to where we are now 😔 but that's ok, they'll strive to make pokemon an even greater game then it started out as. Here's to the future!
Missingno glitch rare candies all day baby
Man I’m nearly 30 and gen 1 were some of my first games I ever beat on my own. I hope I never become the “kids these days don’t know how easy they have it” person. These games are hard in a different way if you don’t know what you’re doing. If I played this game as a 5 year old, I could see how easy it would be to get lost and destroyed even with the superior map system. Playing gen 1 as an adult, it’s also not really that bad lol, just some obtuse shit like going through that house for some reason to progress the story.
the funny thing is, with mach punch on a level 85 breloom, I was still leveling up on those level 44-48 Chanseys pretty fast. No Lucky Egg either
A medium slow growth rate is actually great for early game and the older games as until level 46 it's faster to level up then medium fast.
making it the second fastest until that point.
Medium fast is better after that point. So the 100% completion run would probably prefer Hawulcha, as it's harder to gain levels late game.
But the best is the fast egg group, so Azumarill, Maushold , Veluza or WIgglytuff are good options for this.
Happiny dust sells for 150 ea and it stacks up pretty fast when grinding made like 100k while leveling up my team
0:47 my face when iron hands learns belly drum at level 98
YALL, PRESS B WHEN CLIMBING A LADDER AND YOU'LL GO AT 2X SPEED
other than that, great video!
I never knew that
There is a sandwich that gives both Exp Point Power Normal and Encounter Power Normal.
It's 4x Tofu, 2x Watercress (you need to drop two pieces), 2x Pepper, 2x Salt
I'd post an imgur link as proof, but that would get my comment hidden.
if you press right on the Dpad you can see the sandwich effect and how long is left until it runs out
"Sandwich parts" sounds like something you assemble with a wrench
Don't assemble your sandwiches with a wrench.
But what if I wanted to make a metal sandwich for my Aron? Or one of the other Pokémon that eat metal?
If you want a crazy challenge.
Sunkern only.
Rules:
- Only capture Sunkern.
- Capture atleast 1 Sunkern before entering Mesagoza.
- After your first Sunkern capture, box your starter.
- No online.
- Only the Sunstone rewarded during the Artazon Gym challange can be used to evolve a Sunkern.
- Any wild shinies may be caught for later transfer, but must be boxed during the challenge.
I just did a challenge not quite as hard as that which you’ll see a video on soon
@@PaPaSea DO THE REQUEST, PAPASEA
@@WohaoG so basically i can only use an army of sunkerns with one sunflora leading the way?
@@PaPaSea yes.
And you must play the USSR anthem every time you knock out a pokemon
You maybe could’ve sped up the chansey grinding significantly by catching another low-level mon that does well against them. Because you get significantly more xp if you’re underleveled, and significantly less if overleveled. Xp share would still cut it down quite a bit, but there’d almost definitely be a point where it would help.
I've been wondering this, but was unsure if it would be cut down too much by exp share to be worth it
@@tradingfriends seemed to always work by just having the lowest level party member on my team out front. Made me overlevel pretty quick
@@tradingfriends I’ve been informed that it’s not based on the Pokémon that takes out the enemy anymore, it’s different for every Pokémon in the party depending what their level is. So feel free to give it a shot, but don’t be surprised if it doesn’t work, sorry about that
It's not based on the pokemon that defeats the chansey, its calculated individually for each pokemon based on level
@@sciencesold_ unless auto battling then it's just half what the Pokemon taking it out gets which is determined by level difference, but at what level you can auto battle a Chansey at is needed
You can trade happiny dust away for LP then use them as money since LP works as money beside at auction. Do not sell happiny dust for money since you get alot more as LP.
I spent nearly a whole day leveling up teams to each gym level so i could take on the leaders in quick succession. It was certainly an easier grind than past gens to be fair.
if you get one pokemon to level 30ish you can just grind chanseys and get all level 70s in about 2 hours
Hope that you treasure that Flamigo forever.
I have done this run already last week and I got done with it in six hours and 40 minutes involving rare candies and training on Chansey
Level 100 does matter. Raid Pokémon are certain levels and your Pokémons level is what it is in raids. You need level 100 for most 6 star or 7 star raids
Now this is epic.
There's a "Burn The Pie %" in Cooking Mama speedruns. If there wasn't a "Get to Lvl100 %" before, there is now. You should post this. Maybe you'll bee the world champ for a few weeks/days.
You can get Flamigo in the starting area before you get your ride pokemon, no glitches or anything. You just run off to the right as you come out of the path but before the first poke center. There are a few near the water there at around level 5 to 7.
Higher level is better in the long-run given it's got a better starting point. Flamigo is still very strong for the point in the game you can get it.
Absolblogspokemon would be proud
no glitches or exploits
uses bljs
0:55 , 8:45
that’s not a glitch or exploit it’s a feature of koraidon that it jumps higher backwards
@@PaPaSea nah, it's definitely an exploit of the games buggy mechanics. It's not game breaking, or even really a big deal, but it's definitely not a "feature" imo
i think the idea in this game is to use tera raid loot to level up, which is why there isnt really a good grinding spot. the chanseys are probably there to help you get through the gyms, if they are intended for grinding at all.
It does slow down a bit towards the end of the Gym challenge since you don't get the higher level raids until post-game.
When he said "there isn't really a point to raising your pokemon to level 100 anymore" I realized he probably hadn't even started playing pokemon scarlet/violet yet.
I have, and the point still stands as in the past you needed level 100s when the levels didn’t scale for pvp battles
@@PaPaSea There was an auto-level option starting in Diamond and Pearl for PvP where your Pokemon could automatically be scaled to Level 50 or 100. There was also an option for no Level restrictions so you'd be stuck at the Level your Pokemon is already at or for overly gimmicky strategies like Focus Sash, Endeavor, Quick Attack on a Level 1 Pokemon. You'd only want higher Levels for Pokemon that learned their best moves at higher levels.
i think i’m going to commit to a challenge like this, after getting to level 100, you can breeze through the game
PaPaSea - "I have no idea why anyone would even want to do this run"
*AbsolBlogsPokemon has entered the chat*
How long would it take for you to beat the game from there
I might be wrong but the gyms don't affect this challenge at all right?
Cause this game has no level scaling.
it does a little since with no badges some caught wild Pokémon worn obey
The level 100 gauntlet how Nintendo intended is a thing and you all can't deny it
In the 90’s you can still get a TON of XP if you use a lucky egg and sandwhich to make them spawn more.
yes, but with the challenge I did in the video I couldn’t get the lucky egg or upgraded recipes so that was never an option
Great taste in music using the Persona 5 Strikers soundtrack, which is better than the original P5 soundtrack in my opinion. Very underrated game
From 3:50 - challenge accepted... I'm going to route candies and try to go way beyond your 5 hour estimate. Just wait :)
I do this all the time while Chansey grinding to quickly restore PP. Just simply make ur Pokémon forget a move and then relearn the move right after. All level up and tm moves that ur Pokémon learned can easily be relearned at the summary screen and their PP gets restored. Don't do this if u PP maxed ur moves tho unless u don't mind spending 30,000 pokédollars on 3 PP Ups.
How long did this take?
It's also important to note that getting a pokemon to level 100 is even more irrelevant because in SV you can bottle cap at level 50 as opposed to 100 in previous generations.
The only reason to get to really high levels is cuz most Paradox Pokémon get their best moves at really high levels like 84 or 91. This will be very necessary when paradox Pokémon will be allowed in ranked battles maybe in Series 2 or later.
@@johnf6263 High level tera raids need level 90 or above pokemon to be consistently winning, in my experience. So like you said, it's good because Iron Hands, the best raid mon, gets its best move in Belly Drum in the level 80s.
I noticed that when auto battling that the amount of EXP that you can receive is less than if you battled every single pokémon individually. I was in the beginning of the game as well when I started in Violet and I found a 200 to 500 exp difference versus using auto battling versus actually battling every single pokémon individually. so a pokémon that would have given you 700 EXP only gives you 400 to 500 exp so I feel like auto battling is pretty awful due to how lackluster it's made to be anyways.
Yes, less exp per fight but you can easily do 2-3x more fights in the same time because you skip the battle. But yeah definitely different points need to change up the battle style
You literally have to be above level 75 to not be a nuisance in end game raids, so I’m not sure where you’re getting the useful cap of 60 from
it was an arbitrary number I have to demonstrate that being level 100 doesn’t really matter
Hard disagree. RAIDS NEED THE LEVELS. Otherwise, yeah.
Level 100s are mandatory for 5 6 and 7 star raids
Mainly 6 and 7.
S/V made it more important to get pokemon to level 100 to fight in terra raids
is there a dex speedrun?
Scarlet is better than violet
Getting a Pokemon to level 100 matters for Tera raids.
Lvl 100… the pinnacle of power…
Welp time to sweep every gym base and titans
I am doing a POC of Scarlet myself. In the postgame needing the raid only mons (Slowking, Scizor, and Palafin (evolution of the Dolphin pokemon)).
Piece of crap?
@@WohaoG piece of crap who?
I promise I'll watch all your ScarVio videos soon I'm still slowly going through the game and trying to avoid spoilers lol
level 100..the pinnacle of power for a pokemon...
The difference between medium fast and medium slow is 59,600 exp
The growth curves are also different. Medium slow is better early-game but medium fast is better for later game.
You literally can get the pink bird before the first poke enter with oricorio as well
breathes YOU COULD JUST CATCH THE LEVEL 75 TERA GARCHOMP AND USE THE CANDIES IT WONT OBEY U BUT THAT DOESNT MATTER
You can get Flamigo in the tutorial. No jumping needed to get it!
Wouldn't it be faster to catch 5 Pickup mons as well while grinding Chansey? You get ingredients for Normal Sandwiches anyway so you could use it to get 5 Pickup Meowths, then grind as much as possible and hope for as many Rare Candies as possible
that would probably be faster, depending on how long it takes to check each item you get from pickup as the only ones that matter are the candies
@@PaPaSea isn’t blj a glitch?
i have no clue what all the names of the characters and Pokemon are. why do they have to have different names in other languages
Would have been nice to see the comparisant before chanceys were nerfed, bacause that shit was crazy.
I didn't even know they nerfed it
I saw at 8:44 that you use the backwards long jump. since that isn’t part of the intended design of the game, wouldn’t that be using a “glitch”?
beat every gym with that Pokémon
Float Stone does not do that lol XD
I’m bored so trying this same challenge. I teleported out of area 1 without even going to school. Seeing if I can get to every major point/biome with 0 badges lol
It’s flamigo, a flamingo amigo!
For 10 mins, I grinded against Gyrados at Casseroya Lake and got 204 Magikarp scales.
you need the level100 for 6 star raids there is no way you're beating them alone under that
which is why i didnt even attempt to do high star raids
@@PaPaSea didn't you say there is no point getting to lv100
1:38 they all tposing if you slow it down
You can steal lucky eggs off of wild Pokemon. My lead overworld Mon is a noivern with frisk and thief, so I have a bunch of them
The only reason im doing this run is so i can sweep the titans and gyms easliy and finish the game faster as i finished scarlet and i wanna finish violate to get miradon to bring over to scarlet
You should have leved up your starter instead, as they are in the fast exp group
You can sell happiny dust, that is what I do with it.
Backwards longjumps are glitches
What about violet version tho
Now do it for your entire team.
I would go to higher level places and would just lets go super effective pokemon and then Battle them after I got to their level
Bring me pictures of Spider-Man!
Level 100 in gen 8 and 9 for raid battles XD
"No glitches" then uses backward wall climb glitch
Did you not pick the L Candies in the wild?
I picked as many as I could get, same with the M and S ones I just focused on the regular rare candies
Challenge: how far can you go without the box legendaries?
If you mean catch? literally the whole game since you can't use it in battle or catch the other one until post game. If you mean without riding? Technically unlocking the challenges happens the same time as unlock them to ride, so you can't do anything other than catch pokemon, level up, and collect items. I'm also pretty sure every gym is accessible without your ride pokemon so if thats the challenge it would just make traversing harder.
i hosted 6 star raids for my friend and carried him through them all
It not that hard i got a lv 75 before 1st gym in scarlet bc I don't know were the 1 st gym is
Honestly, I can level up a Pokemon to level 100 in about 2 or 3 minutes with xl XP candies and rare candies from 6 star raids, absolutely not worth it
Why don't people speedrun on violet?
I think RTA should be required, because the lag spikes and frame drops affects your in game time. Curious if you do this again what your RTA would be.
😭😭😭 The persona music all the video
At least put on beautiful ruin from danganronpa
Cool idea
