I mean ignoring the evolutions Nacli would fit right in in the land of mushrooms. the other forms however would fit better in a land of mining and crafting.
If I had a nickel for each Nintendo game where a speedrunning tech involved jumping backwards I’d have 2 nickels which isn’t a lot. It’s just weird it happened twice
Nah, you’d have three. There’s a glitch in super Mario galaxy that’s almost exactly the same as this game. If you jump backwards on a slope you would normally slide down you would be able to climb it. It’s so weird that after around 15 years this bug is still popping up in video game slol
4:41 There's actually an explanation for this! Basically, the input "zone" for a joycon's thumbstick is not a circle, but a square, that is only limited by the thumbstick's phisicality. Meaning, if you were to input two diagonal inputs in the same direction at the same time for the same player, you could go to about 1.5 the thumbstick's natural limit. I imagine most switch games get around this by simply not allowing two controllers' inputs for the same player at the same time, or at least specifically coding a limiter for the thumbstick
this issue was introduced decades ago in the first games that allowed diagonal movements, and it's been fixed for almost as long by simply normalizing the user input to always be a decimal value between 0 and 1. they must have really gone out of their way to reintroduce such an issue in a "modern" game
This same trick allows you to navigate menus faster in Fortnite with a controller except you use the left stick and the d-pad. I find it very useful in creative mode because some of the menus are really big and take a while to navigate from the top to the bottom of.
@@Ryanrulesok even if you can connect hundreds of joycons the limit of speed would be two, because the directional input's limit is a square, but the normal input is limited by a circle inside that square, so using 2 joycons the input become the full diagonal square, meaning that using more than 2 won't actually increase the speed.
The game is not broken glich wise. More accurately, it's unoptimized. The only actual glitch I've found is that sometimes Pokémon will spawn inside the walls when in caves
@@magicalnoodles I had the camera get stuck in the mom's house at the beginning and not follow the character. There's also a memory leak that causes slowdown and extended loading times, as well as shadows to not load in properly after you've had the game going for a while. The thing is you don’t even have to use the teleport glitch to get calm mind if you have a water Pokémon you can throw the Pokémon out to swim over to the island and pick it up for you 😂
My partner found out the teleportation battle bug early on when she ended up on the air slash island while trying to get a wooper. I then did the same. Bug gym was a cake walk because of it.
hahaha that first teleportation I found myself too. I was like what if I actually go over? and I thought when I went over there would be something blocking me but no lol. I haven't started the game still nor have I stepped into the academy and I have Charcadet and many more lol.

I also found that area by just my pure excitement of exploring. I didn't see it as a glitch, but more or less "hmm... these pokemon are too strong for me, I should probably come back at a later date". Still managed to catch a lvl 37 Salazzle before I dipped though 😅
The clip at :20 was the FIRST thing I did on the game. Got Goomy, Riolu, and Toxel one after the other. The moment I saw the teleportation animation I knew it was game breaking.
Encountering pokemon in narrow cave corridor can cause the player to drop through the map which happened to me. But i didnt do much with it, maybe other speedrunners can do smth with it.
I did something similar day 1, just with one of the new dog pokemon, I think Maschief or something. Saw it across the cliff, wanted to catch it cause it was a new pokemon and accidentally teleported over.
I actually did the first skip by mistake and it really slingshot me forwards into the game. Most easily abused if you take Fuecoco, as there are several spawns that are weak to fire, one such spawn being Scyther. I got a level 20 Scyther that knew false swipe and it allowed me to catch a full team's worth of level 20's within the first hour of play. There's also a Dreepy spawn right on the small pond across the gap. Also I believe the pokemon have a chance to disobey if they're above level 20, as I've never had any issues with anything between levels 15-20 before the first gym.
The first thing you showed, you can jump with Koraidon over there as soon as you get him. I did it just to see if I could and it will lead to the hawlucha that they talk about with mario backflips
I actually found the Backwards Long Jump trick by myself day 1 and even called it that. I used it so many times after discovering it and it is really fun to use before you can climb and jump high
oh fun not even 10 seconds into the video and there's already a d**k joke aaaaa still this is just so hilarious I'm not touching the games ever again (i didn't have a ton of fun with it and I've got other games I'm more interested in playing) but this is just amazing to watch, thanks a ton for making this
0:35 did this myself on accident too on the first day after an hour or 2 :D Just threw a ball up the hill and teleported higher to catch a lvl 24 while being around 10 :D
Funny story about the backwards long jump... I found out about this glitch through my MUM of all places. My whole family is doing a playthrough of s/v atm and we all started on the game's launch. The first complaint from all of us was how restricted we felt on valleys, since there was no way to climb at that point. So after we went back to our games, my brother and I hear a scream from mum and her telling us to come look at something. And sure enough, she was backward jumping up the side of a mountain. She had managed to discover this glitch less than an hour into the game's release and I've been abusing it ever since.
was planning to do all the gyms only first, learnt backwards jumping strat by accident when I was thinking if I could cheese my way in the cave that leads to Alfornada I ended up using it around the Great Crater as well to bypass the gated entrance; though I couldn't do much since the building had a pop up message preventing access to it at the current progress I was in
I did reverse jumping by.. accident? And it ruined my experience somewhat. I genuinely thought it didn't matter which cities you went to first, but ended up doing that makeup girl gym leader second, and now most of my time is spent trying not to KO captures with my super levelled homeboy crew of L50+ Pokemon, even if my badge collection supposedly only allows control of up to 30 and 35... However I find this way more organic. I managed to catch a 40 Snorlax in Arceus by using a 18 Drifloon (Drifblim?), and that let me catch the first Level 22 demon Rapidash we ever saw which kicked our asses the first time we saw it. It just made the world feel more like a world, than an experience meant to be consumed linearly.
I feel like with these techniques, all trainers being optional, and an open world setting that lets you route in tons of ways this might be the best speedrunning game in the Pokémon franchise. The games also seem to be more punishing than other recent ones. I’m having a blast and this makes me excited for some replayability
Pretty much did the first method just by pure curiosity for the pokémon on the other side, and although I did got destroyed a few times, each time I came back, I always caught at least one Pokémon which technically made me stronger. By the time I got to my first gym, my Pokémon were already level 19-24. Fortunately they didn’t disobeyed me because of this one feature. Let’s say you don’t have any badges, but all the Pokémon you caught started below level 8 and now they’re level 20. Even though they’re beyond the limit, the Pokémon you caught started below the obedience limit. On the other-hand, catching a Pokémon beyond your current limit like level 30, will have to be accompanied by a lot of gym badges. That happened with the Hawlucnha that I caught because it was level 26 :/
I got glitched into a mountain by interacting with a Pokémon while riding a Pokémon after that I could basically everywhere on the map from underneath it. If you want to reenact it you have to find an arched opening in the mountain area and jump while hitting a Pokémon flying overhead. Once you do you’ll be in the normal fight but when u leave or beat the Pokémon you’ll be inside of the mountain
I found the backwards jump on my own, and realized after that it had been discovered the day before. It also is a lot harder to do after you get glide, because you can't just spam jump anymore.
What did anyone expect from a game that looks like it took a month to make? That 4-frame jump was bound to make some crazy things happen. I'm expecting flying by infinite jumps within two months.
Houndstone's unique move Last Respects can have up to 300BP depending on how many fainted Pokemon you have in your party, which can be used to sweep full teams. What's hilarious is, the game's constant need to full heal your team before basically any story battle is actually a detriment to speedruns in this case because it relies on having fainted members
meanwhile japanese twitter is just spamming 4 perrserkers for raids because its hidden ability that boosts all allies steel moves by 50% stack on top of each other to instantly obliterate raid bosses
I encountered something that is not in the video: I jumped down a cliff while mounted (the cliffs at the city that holds the auctions) while mounted. I hit a spot that was too steep to stand on so I transitioned into sliding animation. The weird part was: The sliding animation didnt end. Not sure if the path in front of me was somehow glitched and it was specific to that exact spot, but after beeing stuck in sliding animation for like 5 seconds I got teleported through the terrain and reset into the desert. Soo.. quite far away :D.
What does sequence matter? What's blocked by story? Everything I can think of can be accessed regardless of what part of the story you're in. What's the practical impact? Some of the wall slides might be good to get to gyms faster however I don't see how any 'sequence breaks' make the game easier to run.
There’s a big glitch that can take straight to the elite four. In the main city of go to the left of the city and go up the the stairs, you will a see a giant water fall. If you jump there, it teleports you the Elite Four.
I found a skip to that area on my first day. It's done at a different location and doesn't involve backwards jumping, but you need to make two very precise jumps in succession. I tried to find a way to collect most Gimmighoul coins before starting the actual game. Now I feel like a proper glitch hunter :D
My friend and I found the reverse jumping tech on the first day of release because we spent like an hour trying to climb the big mountain in south province area 5. honestly a really fun tech to discover naturally.
I also found the first strat because I fought a surskit, and it teleported me onto a small island before being able to ride Koraidon. So I freaked out for a couple seconds forgetting taxis existed, and fought another surskit which teleported me back to mainland
One of the features of go mode is your Pokémon an pick up tms and items for you. You can get all those hard to reach seemingly impossible location items by just sending your Pokémon at it 🤷🏻♂️ Don’t even need to use that teleport method
"In this video, I will be explaining how to sequence break in Pokemon Scarlet and Violent using backwards long jumping. But first, we need to talk about parallel universes."
0:11 I wish I had known about this particular "glitch" before playing the game in earnest. Imagine training my pokemons to endgame levels before even battling Nemona for the second time 🤣
Just wait till the speedrunning community finds out about the wall glitches with picniccing. You can straight up go under the map and got to the areas were a gym is and go up through a water elevator glitch. This way u can travel from gym to gym within a minute.
Fun history fact! Running was invented in 1612 by Thomas Running when he tried to walk twice at the same time. Now we finally know what happens when you run twice at the same time.
Literally figured this out day one. Just spamming jump up the side of hills. Have about 250 Pokemon and have yet to even get a single badge, no boss mons or star bases done yet.
Backward jumping is dumb good. You can hope early over to the pokemon league and then climb mountain on right-side to catch lv 58 garchomps and magnezones.
2:14 at that place I found both the backward jumping while trying to force my way up and the teleport glitch by throwing my Pokeball at a monkey Pokémon roaming around close to the cliff.
I remember in my first time playing I did the battle teleport onto the air slash tm island on accident and then just thought, “yep, just another broken part of this game.”

So I freaked out for a couple seconds forgetting taxis existed, and fought another surskit which teleported me back to mainland
that very first trick was exactly what i did 10-15 minutes into my first play through 😂glad i wasn’t the only one to find that
Hey buddy wha'ts the outro song please?
was made by my brother! on.soundcloud.com/sjsDr
One of the features of go mode is your Pokémon an pick up tms and items for you.
You can get all those hard to reach seemingly impossible location items by just sending your Pokémon at it 🤷🏻♂️
Don’t even need to use that teleport method
😭😭😭 that's wild and great news for speedrunners.
"In this video, I will be explaining how to sequence break in Pokemon Scarlet and Violent using backwards long jumping. But first, we need to talk about parallel universes."
As soon as I saw the clip on Twitter, it made going to the Fairy Crew and Ice gym first much easier
I figured out the battle teleport day 1, neat to see that others are using the same trick in more places.
about that teleport skip at the beginning: you can just barely jump over that gap with miraidon/koraidon aswell.
Won't setting the switch to 720p or maybe 480p in settings help performance?
Well I guess I now know why I playing a digital version handheld didn't felt like the loading was that long
4:13 the issue there would be that a patch that increases performance would probably be send out with or after bug fixes
"Speedrunners will likely not use their starters for the majority of the run"
Inb4 Torch Song
0:11 I wish I had known about this particular "glitch" before playing the game in earnest. Imagine training my pokemons to endgame levels before even battling Nemona for the second time 🤣
Just wait till the speedrunning community finds out about the wall glitches with picniccing. You can straight up go under the map and got to the areas were a gym is and go up through a water elevator glitch. This way u can travel from gym to gym within a minute.
Worth noting that with a good jump you can actually just jump over to area 4 immediately. Dont need the battle glitch.
First one shown I also figured out within my first playthrough! That's so cool :D
The return of the BLJ
2:14 at that place I found both the backward jumping while trying to force my way up and the teleport glitch by throwing my Pokeball at a monkey Pokémon roaming around close to the cliff.
Good video chief! Keep them up.
As we all know, this is what they truly meant when people say ‘invented running by walking twice at the same time’
I remember in my first time playing I did the battle teleport onto the air slash tm island on accident and then just thought, “yep, just another broken part of this game.”
