Watching these reviews makes me happy to know I wasn’t the only one breaking into every house I saw and forcing the people in there to talk to me in the older games
I enjoyed Violet, but not being able to go into buildings felt out of place for a Pokémon game. My friend joked that people in Paldea actually know how to lock their doors. (I also don’t know why TM’s are single use now.)
@@sweethistortea I think the tm single use thing was just so they could introduce the tm-crafting mechanic. Pretty silly since I don't think anyone wanted that but oh well
You give criticism the way it should be. There is no rage baiting, no over the top condemnations. Thank you for your videos. I haven't played a new Pokemon release in several years, but it makes me happy to hear someone enjoying them still.
The dead cities and lack of people to talk with actually killed the mood for me. I can’t even walk into Pokémon Centers and talk to the fun NPCs anymore
Tbf the NPCs in this setting are still a thing, they're just placed throughout the towns now...The ones with the cursor icon that is, which I find their dialogue bubble upon being approached kind of redundant.
Yeah, I missed this in Sword and Shield. It just felt like towns and cities had nothing to do in them. Though that game was probably worse because of how short and linear the routes were for the most part too. But for me a big part of every town or city was going in and out of the buildings to talk to everyone, even if what they had to say wasn't much at all.
Nemona being bored cuz she was already a champion is legit, the fact that she got excited to see someone who actually matches her skills is awesome too. The game has some bugs, but it has so much to do, explore and appreciate, that whatever. I love it. Cant describe everything here cuz it will become a long comment.
Also, Nemona basically was playing new game+. She wanted to have the joy of the challenge, so she straight up benched her whole team and went "time to start over to match my new friend". Which is great.
@@DyslecticAttack exactly, i'm happy that they made her character like this, they pretty much nailed the feeling a lot of us players had, looking for new challenges so we don't get tired of the previous games.
I think my biggest gripes are the clothes and the lack of character from the npcs and town. Usually i like just running around towns talking to the npcs this game just felt like oh i need more items better go to the “towns” (malls)
Yeah, I feel like the lack of enterable buildings really contributed to the emptiness of the towns. All of the towns have really fun designs that could’ve lead to some pretty memorable locations, but now they feel like glorified stores.
this and other small things no one talks about. hair color is something they completely miss me as someone that has reddish-brown hair haha. The only real red we have is basically a BRIGHT BLOOD RED. Also, I couldn't find a hairstyle I liked. A couple of DECENT ones. plus most characters wearing just the school outfit and us being stuck wearing the school outfit. Customization wise, it felt like a step back. Towns feel lifeless and basic. Also, why doesn't Katy have Fidough/Dachsbun as their ace and a restaurant that we can eat at for a eating cutscene? Then all the other flaws that everyone talks about.
@@jadebayoba7073 The one with two colored long hair? That's Arven. But when you play the story path with him, you're gonna love him even more. That's all I'll say!
The bigger issue I honestly have with shiny hunting without the charm sound is that it forces me to look up what the shinnies actually look like to check if their just a slight off colouring which sucks because I like the surprise of finding the shiny and checking out it's cool new look but now I already know what they look like and It takes some of the fun away. Overall this game is amazing though
Also some Pokémon are so tiny that you can barely see them in the grass, making it even harder. And there's so many shinies that look barely any different, which imo should not exist (especially not on tiny Pokémon with different color forms, like Flabébé or Tatsugiri). I could accept the no sparkles/sound if all Shinies clearly stood out from their regular version like Sneazel (btw my first random full-odds shiny out of 4 in the game so far) does for example. But even then it would be tricky those Pokémons with different forms that are just different colors. How are you supposed to know that white Tatsugiri is a Shiny, if you just came across the species for the first time, being unfamiliar with all its regular forms (colors) and how frequently they spawn? And why are two of its Shiny forms orange like one of its normal forms?
Yeah, I agree that it can ruin the fun at times. Though at the same time for me knowing what shiny Quaquaval looked like made me even more excited and motivated me to keep hatching eggs so I can get my hands on it. After 236 eggs and some EXP candies I have my shiny Quaquaval that I named Josuke after Josuke Higashikata from JJBA.
I found a shiny psyduck in the wild and only saw it after starting a battle with a flamigo. I was lucky that psyduck’s shiny is very different so I noticed but I was still panicking it would despawn the whole time! Now I’m hyper aware of it, especially because I don’t know how many of the shinies look more or less exactly the same as the regular one!
Shiny hunting as a colorblind guy is a nightmare now. I'm 100% sure I've missed several because I can barely see a lot of them and the ones that have "small" differences I literally can't see the difference. I was fine with that before when there was an obvious sign that it was different even if I couldn't tell, but now I just feel left out ya know?
If you aren’t sure if a Pokemon is shiny, you can auto battle it. If the pokemon is shiny, your pokemon won’t target it while auto battling. Here’s an example: ruclips.net/video/xDfPydmJZDo/видео.html
I felt the same way. I had frame rate issues and some glitches but I actually had fun. And its sad because the story and the characters are so likable and the best Pokemon delivered in terms of that. But it's no excuse for the issues it had. We really should be getting Pokemon every two years. Nevertheless, I live for Larry. Lol. Best character.
Yeah, i usually play on a pc with a 240hz display and i didnt care really. I had fun. Was hype about going into shops and buying new clothes, so i got really disapointed when i saw i just couldnt. Like mf dont tease me with that eevee backpack man
Indeed. The game is most fun I've had in a while. Last time I had this much fun was when I played skyrim for the first time. It can tell you the type of games I like. It's a feature not a bug, but a blast either way
I cant wait for the shiny hunting tales from this gen! Out of everything honestly the problem that really sticks out to me is the lack of sparkles with shinies.. I've seen streamers pass shinies live and it hurts my soul to see, at least you cant really accidentally run from one in battle cause you werent paying attention
The other day I was just running around from outbreak to outbreak. So I see a shiny pig out the corner of my eye. So I switch to my false swiping baxcalibur that's yet to fail me, I false swipe it. It uses a move that has recoil 2nd shiny ever that IV failed, my heart hurted for a solid 5min. Oh well time to move on..
My main problem with the game is the fact that the shinies don't have sound effects anymore. I feel like there was no reason to remove it since even Legends: Arceus had it's own sound effect
@@Nadikiyou are correct-PLA and SV were made at the same time, by two different teams. GF likely had an idea of what features they wanted to add in their newest games; in both games, however, their implementation is very different
I like to think its because the games were developed at similar times. Legends only released a few months prior to Scarlet and Violet, and likely had different teams working on them. Hopefully the game gets either an update or the next gens learn from it.
I agree with Nemona being a fun rival. And, unlike in previous versions where you had a single rival present at the giveaway, her picking the starter weak against yours makes perfect sense: She's already a champion, and she's excited to possibly face a challenge in the future. Not only does she give herself a deliberate disadvantage (which, with secondary typing, has a chance of being erased, or at least eased, at later levels), she's trying not to scare you off prematurely. The best description of her I've seen is: "Nemona is the protagonist of another Pokémon game, serving as an NPC in Scarlet and Violet".
I’d say my only problem with scarlet/violet is the raid system. It’s fine until the game pauses for 5 minutes, not letting you do anything and runs your clock down, or the raid Pokémon heals itself even though you have a competitive Pokémon that ohko’d it. Also when a teammate faints, I believe it depletes your time a bit too much. That system needs to be fixed.
The soundtrack of this game is superb. Shoutout to Team Star's Giacomo for doing God's work. Seriously though, Levincia is Paldea's Driftveil City! Penny's theme is the ultimate quiet kid music. And the flute in West Province goes WAY harder than it should. As someone who knows a lot about Spain and Portugal, I appreciate that this region exists and the research they did for this. Like Cortondo having an olive festival as a reference to its counterpart Jaén being famous for its olive oil (producing 20 percent of the world's olive oil), and Medali having a Roman amphitheatre in reference to one in its counterpart Mérida.
My overall opinion on SV is that they're fun games to play, albeit with some questionable features. The glitches and bugs don't get me enraged like some people do (I personally had a lot of fun laughing at how silly some of them were), but not being able to change the clothing or see/hear the sparkling sounds when you're close to a shiny do hold it back from being a really great Pokemon game. Also, Happy New year, Boss
I have a feeling it will be locked under DLC to change outfits which is really unfortunate, although there's always hope they'll release an update to allow more outfit options. In my option if they wanted the student story line then the game should proceed as is until you complete all the classes then they should allow you to change out of uniform. That way it gives ppl an actual reason to do the classes.
@@finnsnow2495 yeah new clothes in DLC sounds like it will happen. Like your idea of being able to change out of the uniform when you've completed school
@@finnsnow2495 That's what I'm hoping. In the DLC, we're gonna graduate and thus not be subject to the school's dress code, so we'll be able to wear whatever we want.
@@finnsnow2495 I Really do forsee this being a possible thing that comes in the DLC, if you pay close attention when you're in the clothing stores you can see there are Shirts and pants options etc. But they're unavailable. The graduation thing seems plausible too, lots of speculation on what the DLC Could bring some are even saying a new area in the North East part of the map where it's Dark and looks like you should be able to go.
I was recently listening to a couple of your older videos from 7 years ago and I really appreciate how you’re still passionate about Pokémon after all these years even if each game has its quirks. It’s like the only thing that aged about you was your voice. Keep up the good work, sister!
Honestly, Sandy Shocks is the sort of weird that I kinda like. It’s got gremlin lizard-monkey energy while actually being a gestalt of living magnets, and the expressiveness of some of the animations are what makes it *really* work to me.
After one of the first cutscenes of the game, all of the character models glitched out, and for a second they were all t-posing staring at the screen. It was amazing.
Your take on the bugs and glitches is very much how I feel as well. They are there and we shouldn’t just accept them as the usual, but they also shouldn’t keep you from enjoying the game! :)
I actually appreciate that I don't have to run up to people and they just say what they're going to say in overhead bubbles. The shop concept is also good, I would like them to keep it just being a menu for important stuff but I'd love to still enter houses.
Usually performance issues don't bother me too much. Like some frame drops is fine, but when it actually slows the game down, I get bothered. I had that happen with double battles in Sun/Moon Ultra Sun/Moon, button presses and menus were delayed and it just took too long so I avoided them as much as possible. Sometimes S/V is the same unfortunately
Battling NPCs has been kinda weird on how you approach them. When you're new, it's your main source on EXP. You gain more resources and it becomes addicting to just battle. Then as you catch on, you just either naturally gain more EXP through spending time doing other things or you form strategies around being lower leveled. I personally started avoiding trainers like the plague. So when I saw it was optional, I literally didn't fight a single trainer till I 100% the entire dex, and it was just so I could access Thunder Wave.
I've always seen battling trainers as a staple of the games, and I try to fight every one I see. How are you spending your time exploring areas if you don't fight them?
@@animelovegaming1796 Oddly enough, I was like always 30 levels higher than I needed to be. I was over leveled so much in this game without battling or grinding. Just kinda messed around with a friend in multiplayer and a few hours later we're like, "Oh, we need the next gym badge, our Pokemon won't listen to us anymore."
As much as i love the Violet version, damn. i truly wished they had like at least 6 months to a year to finish it. with less problems. but damn i loved Arven a lot, since i could personally relate to him quite a lot. and the Team Star also was quite relateable too, as a person who got bullied a lot in school, and then became a bit of a delinquent. but in the end, it's probably the "1 pokemon main line game per year thing" management, and tbh i would've loved if the new games were bit more invested and i would love to wait for maybe 1 game in 2-2.5 years, we would get probably better games. but tbh to even think about it. gen 1 had 6- year dev hell, but it also had like 2-6 people working on it. and it's a bug/glitch fest.
Two little points that got sided as jokes in the video that interested me were the "I'm a pokemon fan, I'm willing to throw my money at them and they know that" and "Don't go to twitter to yell at the devs" I think there's a problem with that, game freak seems to think that the quality of the game doesn't matter anymore because people will buy it anyway, we will just get more and more garbage main line games unless they actually stop making money. I agree with the "don't yell at the devs on twitter" only because that's not where the devs are, only some media management guy that is told what to tweet lol
scarlet and violet were my first ever full odds shinies, a psyduck right after leaving the first area from the light house and a cryognal (not sure the name) and I gotta say, made the game feel more fun to randomly encounter them
When you said there weren't many interiors to buildings, that made me realize that they probably stopped the tradition of including a secret Game Freak battle
Last time I remember there being a game freak building or room was in US/UM, haven't played Sw/Sh, but I don't think you could fight anyone in the room
@@inofficialplaytester3271 There's definitely a Game Freak cameo (not a full building of developers tho) in Sw/Sh. I remember an hotel room with an npc (which has the name of the game director) that gives you the lucky charm. But yeah, that's it, it kinda killed the tradition.
Honestly my only flaws with the game are the obvious performance issues and while they said you can start your adventure whenever you can either be under leveled or over leveled for a battle. It’s easily one of my favorite Pokémon games ever and it’s all because of the story especially Arven’s. I have never cried in a Pokémon game until this one like wow how depressing is Arven’s life and I can’t wait for DLC.
The core issue, as mentioned in a video that I watched, is that the Pokemon company makes more profit from merchandise, such as plushies, than they do with the main series. So TPC is more willing to sacrifice the main series games if it means not delaying the merchandise that features Pokemon that are revealed in said game
I have a similar situation when it comes to seeing new Pokémon in the games takes a bit for me to get use to them. I remember thinking how lazy a design flamigo was, but now that I’ve used one and got a better look of it, it might be my favorite gen 9 Pokémon. Cause it takes two of gamefreaks oldest design philosophies of making a Pokémon a very stylized version of a real animal or adding a couple of unique or magical qualities to an animal.
Also can we all collectivly agree in the cutscenes or in general for this matter KORAIDON'S FACIAL EXPRESSIONS ARE AMAZING I feel like it has some more life to it like sometimes you can tell its happy or a little sassy
The fact it has a tongue and feathers allows it to be more expressive too, so it already has more to offer than Miraidon. Tho I think both are great- Koraidon is more expressive, but Miraidon's [cold] mecha design makes its goofy personality contrasting and unique. I didn't expect to like both of their designs, but they grew on me real quick!!
The main issue with the games (that I had a ton of fun playing as an FYI) is bugs that actually cause your game to crash or that cause you to not be able to participate in raids
“Not that gym, they’ll mess you up” Me, who spent an entire day power leveling my Pokémon on the poor, poor fools around the mountain, because I decided to do Ice third: “Spite is a powerful motivator”
One of the most entertaining bugs I’ve found was making sandwiches; as my bread and ingredients would just- fall through the plate idk if other people experienced this but it’s an absolute riot
There's almost always something falling through the bread and table. I think it has to do with each ingredient having a certain mass, so then as you pile them on top of each other, it forces it down without having any give-back.
The game definitely feels a few steps short of being so much better. As for the gym fluidity, i had no trouble with most gyms, i only failed the electric gym but that was due to my own hubris
I feel like Iono was the only one who used Terastalizing properly. Levitate+Electric Tera Type was a really cool strategy that I didn’t expect from a gym battle. I feel like the other gym battles could have benefited from some creative Tera usage. For example: Brassius’ Sudowoodo should have had the Rattled ability. That way if you tried using it’s Bug Type weakness, it would backfire Or Give the gym leaders tera types different from their gym theme. Like: Larry’s Staraptor should have Tera Ghost to punish the players who came in depending on their fighting type pokemon. But, Pokemon is a kid’s game so I can see why they didn’t make it too hard. Still though, I would have liked to see some more complicated strategies with Terastalization.
@@WyvernRex2099 there were already pokemon game that played around that kind of strategies. I remember the last boss of Colosseum having a Slowking changing the ability of a Slakoth. It was so fucking hard with the pokemon limitations that you had. There are more bosses in those games that played around "clever"strategies, like spaming earthquake with flying pokémons or using protect, rain dance plus thunder spam, selfdestruct+protect (remember that double battles are mandatory) it's the type of difficulty that you would never expect from npcs
The reason for differences between Legends Arceus and Scarlet and Violet in terms of shiny noises and box changes and such is because they were both made by two different teams which weren't working with each other and I think different main companies as well
I kinda like the new breeding mechanic, but I can't stop imagining my starter Meowscarada and the Psychic Tera Tsareena I caught doing the deed near the food.
These are some good thoughts. Definitely feel like the cities are a bit stretched thin, but the update mechanics are fantastic, and overall another good entry to the series
Even with all the issues- and there's plenty of them, to be sure- Scarlet is the most fun I've had with a Pokemon game in almost a decade. It's the first time I've completed a regional dex since all the way back in Gold and Silver, usually I get bored with an installment's endgame long before I even get close. But now here I am, a whole month and a half after release, and I don't think a single day has gone by where I haven't picked up my switch to play. Spamming raids, hunting shinies, and even (for the first time!) playing around with competitive PVP teams. Heck, I started an electric mono-type run on a whim and I'm having a blast with that, too. The games would have undeniably been better if Game Freak had an extra 6-12 months to iron out some problems, but even so, as someone who's been playing these games since I was ten years old back when Red released, I think this is the best the series has been in a long time. ...give me some real fashion customization though, Game Freak, I beg you.
This is a pokemon game alright. Jokes aside this is easily one of my favorite games in the series. The amount of fun I have had with the terra raids and the main game is honestly scary. I had to take a break from it to finish up stuff for school but once I was on break in December I legit just played solidly for a whole two weeks even coming close to getting the dex completed something unheard of for me. Also the story and characters are great and this is coming from someone who already loved Sword and Shield despite it's odd story and Sun and Moon despite it's crazy story. I think this one is a good compromise being down to earth but also still crazy with good motivations for everyone involved and the characters themselves are just perfect! I love Nemona, Penny, Arvin, the professors, Clavell, all of Team Stars and so many others. It has performance issues that even I can see and it was a bit off putting to me, my strangest was my fidough had it's paw go under the ground during a battle and I was like umm what? It's crazy to see these type of glitches and while I don't like it I can still love this game for all the good it has and after a year long break (sorry I can't stand get 4 or anything associated with it so I skipped BDSP and LA) it was a well deserved trip back into this series.
Happy new year, I haven’t actually watched the whole video yet but I really am enjoying the game and I hope you did too! I know people have been complaining about the graphics (My only complaint is that it looks too beautiful for the amount of pixels the switch has) but it’s really nice to just enjoy the game with your Pokémon battling and picnicking and just having a relaxing time!
@@ambozz3726 Have you SEEN how intricate the models are? Especially on the clothes?! Have you had a glimpse of the lighting? It looks so good but the switch has its “High quality” 720p!
I mean she makes a good point that players can't talk with a majority of NPC's. And the fact that there's so many, at some point it just got tedious to me and rather than exploring towns and dialougue, I went to grind for the Pokedex instead. If Scarlet and Violet had interactions with all NPC's I'd probably have taken my time talking with all of them.
Shiny hunting in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is a big issue considering the fact that there are no shiny sparkles in the overworld. Whereas in Pokemon Legends Arceus, there are shiny sparkles in the overworld. This can be annoying at times because if you find a shiny that barely changes it's color, you might end up running past it without even realizing that it's shiny.
I've been saying this too about the shiny sparkle sound. I have bad eyesight. If I don't use the Masuda method in scarlet and violet I would never find them.
The story did make me cry, the characters actually are friends and they act like normal teenagers/friends would. The teachers are also amazing, my favorite is Hassel and Professor Gible ❤
I finally finished the game today and even though everyone got game breaking bugs for me I actually got none lol so this was technically, the BEST Pokemon game I've ever played!
The Box Arts have become my favorite box art legends. I just love both of them with a burning passion. Also love the designs of the places and Pokémon in this game! Especially how the time machine looks like a kaleidoscope on crack 😂. So the theme for the starters is that each one is based off a different Latin festival. For Meowscarada, it's Mardi Gras. For Quaquaval, it's the Rio Carnival (hence the dumper and the extravagant outfit). And finally for Skeledirge, it's Día de los Muertos. When it comes to rematches, you CAN rematch Top Champion Geeta, as she participates in the post-game Academy Ace Tournament. Since Hassel is the art teacher at the Academy, he's also participating in the tournament with a team of six, his Elite Four team and a Dragonite. You can also rematch Larry, but he won't be using his Flying-type team again as he will be at his Gym (using five Normal-types) as part of Geeta's Gym inspection.
Oh, hello Avery! Saw you on the last wow mao a few days or two ago. I think the designs this time around are very good, I actually have enjoyed this game quite a lot due to Convergent Pokemon designs and good gameplay considerations.
i gotta say that i wasnt the biggest fan of scarlet & violet but i gotta say this gen has the PRETTIEST rival characters nemona and arven are my babies and i shall protect them at all cost
here is some improvements to the scarlet/ violet in terms of character creation 1: hair and makeup even though the menu has a lot of options my version would add a makeup shop which not only allow the player to choose different makeup opions but there will also other "advanced" options that will be a shop exclusive as well as different ones giving different exclusives giving the player a reason to go to the shops. and a simliar for the hair just with exclusive hair asethics instead 2: for clothing since part of the point in this game your part of a school this is kind of why you are constantly in uniform and i see two options option1 you start out with the defalet looks but you buy different types of school clothing based on the subject like pe clothes, science lab clothes you get the idea and maybe each one has a different varation depending on the which seaonal one you wear. option2 is where when you are not on school sight you are able to wear any type of clothing in this senrio the clothing will just be like some of the other games apart for where you obligated to were your uniform a school what do you all think?
I was so surprised that Penny's bag was not immediately available in shops at launch~ As for the game, I am giving it a lot of leeway due to the ~Great Illness~ messing with everything for the past 2+ years. Especially since they focused on the core needs: Good Designs (something for most aesthetic tastes), good story, and freedom of playstyle. All the other things that would have been nice but lower priority were treated with lower priority. This is how I would want a game to be, I would rather have a worthwhile game than one that is empty but pretty (looking at you BotW)~ However, the excuse only lasts so long, so the trend of the next few games will determine whether they are worth continuing with~
10 minutes try 10 seconds for the eevee bag to be sold out. There is a huge cry for it. I think pokemon should team up with swarvoski to make tera pokemon statues. I want my sprigatito in tera form crystal statue.
4:07 I can see someone thought its level 30-ish Fire type could deal with Grusha, take down Frosmoth with ease just to be yeeted by Beartic. It knows, EARTHQUAKE.
I can't imagine them finding any good reason to take it out so I assume they just ran out of time and it was just something they couldn't get to. It sucks 😕
Same goes for the deaf or hard of hearing players or even possibly blind players? Like recently the Gens have gone downhill with inclusive shiny hunting (Also makes finding the barely different color shineys harder as well) I think it would be best to have a semi big shiny sparkle around the pokemon in a good amount of intervals + a very loud noise (not to loud but like stands out among the other noises + maybe also a audio ability to turn up the shiny sound or even just a accessibility feature to make the shineys stand out more like the loud noise or more shiney sparkles) (tho I've never played a pokemon game this is just what I feel would be best as someone who knows stuff about pokemon)
Amphros lighting up the light house in it's Pokedex entry has got to be another clue to a gen 2 remake. If you look in the psychic gym leader town there is a tower there with the battle arena. They have the 1 and 2 gen party sprites all over the outside in tile. Edit: You also mentioned the party sprites. Still think it's clues to a 2nd gen remake. I'm a Pokemon master and I don't care about the performance issues. The game is still fun... Though yesterday my outbreaks randomly reset at 7PM while I was shiny hunting Froslass and it made me mad... Until I found a random shiny Flittle. Upset I didn't get the Froslass, but a shiny is a shiny especially if you don't have it yet.
The campaign might’ve been my favorite across all of the games (including the non-mainline ones too) and a lot of the new ‘mons are solid too. Add that onto the nice other changes they did like the Pokédex, open world, etc. I was lucky enough to not experience much in terms of glitches, but definitely had frame rate drops quite a bit. It’s a shame that a lot of people’s views of this game are just that it’s buggy and “unplayable” because this game was incredible.
I don't mind the bugs and glitches(haven't had any terrible ones), but I love sharing the funnier ones with people(like that one glitch I got where I appeared in the middle of the Pokemon battle against a Gimmighoul... Legends Arceus all over again lol)
I think my experience with Violet is pretty much the same as yours. I find myself enjoying these games, however the performance is rather disheartening. Speaking of which, I found that letting the Switch cool down and/or shutting the game off allows it to take a break. Afterwards, I come back to it. Usually, when I do that it gets better. Also, Happy New Year!
This is the most accurate review I’ve heard. Its a great game but it need more development time, voice acting, and shiny sparkle sounds…I NEED MY SPARKLES!!! It just feels like a reward.
I finally subscribed after you said Sprigatito was your favorite starter. It's incredibly refreshing to hear somebody else loving my sweet green kitty.
I definitely miss the shiny sound from Arceus. Shiny hunting has always been one of my favorite things to do in Pokemon games but ironically (and quite unfortunately for me) I'm colorblind so I live in fear of running past a shiny in these games. I've been playing Scarlet since Christmas and I have yet to find a single shiny, but I have no clue if that's because I've run past the ones that have spawned because I couldn't tell they were shiny or because I'm simply unlucky. It's more likely the former, but due to lack of evidence I'll choose to belive the latter for my own sanity.

Watching these reviews makes me happy to know I wasn’t the only one breaking into every house I saw and forcing the people in there to talk to me in the older games
I like to imagine that I am burglarizing them and the NPCs are scared while taking
@@manhwafanatic What a wonderful imagination you have
I enjoyed Violet, but not being able to go into buildings felt out of place for a Pokémon game. My friend joked that people in Paldea actually know how to lock their doors. (I also don’t know why TM’s are single use now.)
@@manhwafanatic That's why you had to stop Team Rocket. Had to take out the competition.
She is so adhd
Also, Nemona basically was playing new game+. She wanted to have the joy of the challenge, so she straight up benched her whole team and went "time to start over to match my new friend". Which is great.
@@DyslecticAttack exactly, i'm happy that they made her character like this, they pretty much nailed the feeling a lot of us players had, looking for new challenges so we don't get tired of the previous games.
Nemona represents the players who purposefully use weaker teams to challenge themselves.
OUR BATTLE WILL BE LEGENDARY
I think my biggest gripes are the clothes and the lack of character from the npcs and town. Usually i like just running around towns talking to the npcs this game just felt like oh i need more items better go to the “towns” (malls)
Yeah, I feel like the lack of enterable buildings really contributed to the emptiness of the towns. All of the towns have really fun designs that could’ve lead to some pretty memorable locations, but now they feel like glorified stores.
And there’s a lot of humor or continuity that can be established with townspeople, but oh well.
Ok but that trainer, idk what his name, but damn he is H-O-T
this and other small things no one talks about. hair color is something they completely miss me as someone that has reddish-brown hair haha.
I personaly have only experienced lag a few times for like a second each time.
It's a feature not a bug, but a blast either way
PLA is perfect. It was so much fun to play
its sad that there are only so many nippets of story line to tho
My guess is the games were developed by two separate teams so there was a bit of inconsistency when it came to new features
I was lucky to find a shiny some how
@@Nadikiyou are correct-PLA and SV were made at the same time, by two different teams.
Shit bruh, I wish that was my main problem 🙃
I think X and Y customization clothes were the one the best since some was modern to it’s time😊
I agree with Nemona being a fun rival.

Agreed. I really wish they had more customization for the school uniforms like skirts or jackets
The biggest frame issue for me is the boxes they load so slow
Don’t forget to get the Flying Pikachu. And please tell us your final team in your play through. Happy new year!
Candyevie be that person that spends years looking for a slightly different colours of pixels and somehow make it fun to watch
I have only battled a few to get the amulet coin
I've always seen battling trainers as a staple of the games, and I try to fight every one I see. How are you spending your time exploring areas if you don't fight them?
I did that until I realized my Pokémon weren't prepared for the gyms, titans, and team star bases
@@noahberan6498 Mostly catching Pokemon and grabbing items with friends.
@@animelovegaming1796 Oddly enough, I was like always 30 levels higher than I needed to be. I was over leveled so much in this game without battling or grinding. Literally took the words right out of my mouth. When people ask me what I think of the new games, I'll send them to this video. 110% agree
I love how Pokemon is going into more weird designs. That's cool.
The game is definitely something… Glad I chose the grass starter, it’s my most favourite. 💚
My favorite game since bw2
Two little points that got sided as jokes in the video that interested me were the "I'm a pokemon fan, I'm willing to throw my money at them and they know that" and "Don't go to twitter to yell at the devs"
I think there's a problem with that, game freak seems to think that the quality of the game doesn't matter anymore because people will buy it anyway, we will just get more and more garbage main line games unless they actually stop making money.
I agree with the "don't yell at the devs on twitter" only because that's not where the devs are, only some media management guy that is told what to tweet lol
scarlet and violet were my first ever full odds shinies, a psyduck right after leaving the first area from the light house and a cryognal (not sure the name) and I gotta say, made the game feel more fun to randomly encounter them
I tried to play this game but my character keeps getting shoved in lockers how do you get past that part????
you wanted a more realistic Pokémon game, this is what u get
When you said there weren't many interiors to buildings, that made me realize that they probably stopped the tradition of including a secret Game Freak battle
6:23 ok but you cannot deny: she is spitting facts
Honestly my only flaws with the game are the obvious performance issues and while they said you can start your adventure whenever you can either be under leveled or over leveled for a battle. It’s easily one of my favorite Pokémon games ever and it’s all because of the story especially Arven’s. I have never cried in a Pokémon game until this one like wow how depressing is Arven’s life and I can’t wait for DLC.
The core issue, as mentioned in a video that I watched, is that the Pokemon company makes more profit from merchandise, such as plushies, than they do with the main series. So TPC is more willing to sacrifice the main series games if it means not delaying the merchandise that features Pokemon that are revealed in said game
this right here. I wish Arlo and others understood its not GF, its the pokemon company that makes these decisions
@@darthgamer9861Gamefreak owns The Pokemon Company.
Still love how Fuecoco is the textbook example of “no thoughts, head empty”
That's how Klawf is to me. Only elevator music playing in that head.

KORAIDON'S FACIAL EXPRESSIONS ARE AMAZING
I feel like it has some more life to it like sometimes you can tell its happy or a little sassy
The fact it has a tongue and feathers allows it to be more expressive too, so it already has more to offer than Miraidon. Tho I think both are great- Koraidon is more expressive, but Miraidon's [cold] mecha design makes its goofy personality contrasting and unique.

For example:
Brassius’ Sudowoodo should have had the Rattled ability. That way if you tried using it’s Bug Type weakness, it would backfire
Or
Give the gym leaders tera types different from their gym theme. Like:
Larry’s Staraptor should have Tera Ghost to punish the players who came in depending on their fighting type pokemon.
The reason for differences between Legends Arceus and Scarlet and Violet in terms of shiny noises and box changes and such is because they were both made by two different teams which weren't working with each other and I think different main companies as well
they were both developed by gamefreak under the pokemon company, but you're right about separate teams.

A great start to the New Year when CandyEvie uploads 🥰
Shiny hunting in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is a big issue considering the fact that there are no shiny sparkles in the overworld. Whereas in Pokemon Legends Arceus, there are shiny sparkles in the overworld. This can be annoying at times because if you find a shiny that barely changes it's color, you might end up running past it without even realizing that it's shiny.
Pokémon Colosseum and XD Gale of Darkness’s NPC’s have their own names.
Thank you for saying that meowscarada is the best starter design
Ending the year with a CandyEvie video? Yes, Please!😁☺️
Also, Arven is best boy! 🥰
If your in Australia, it was starting the year the time this came out
I've been saying this too about the shiny sparkle sound.

I've really enjoyed shiny hunting in this game. Shiny Charcadet has still eluded me.
Gotta admit the few seconds of waiting when loading boxes suck like as someone who has completed the dex it take years to find a Pokemon
i gotta say that i wasnt the biggest fan of scarlet & violet

From 11:20 I guess this is the perfecr region for Barry (DPP Rival)
No bumping anymore🤣
here is some improvements to the scarlet/ violet in terms of character creation
1: hair and makeup even though the menu has a lot of options my version would
add a makeup shop which not only allow the player to choose different makeup opions but there will also other "advanced" options that will be a shop exclusive as well as different ones giving different exclusives giving the player a reason to go to the shops.
and a simliar for the hair just with exclusive hair asethics instead
2: for clothing since part of the point in this game your part of a school this is kind of why you are constantly in uniform and i see two options
option1 you start out with the defalet looks but you buy different types of school clothing based on the subject like pe clothes, science lab clothes you get the idea and maybe each one has a different varation depending on the which seaonal one you wear.
option2 is where when you are not on school sight you are able to wear any type of clothing in this senrio the clothing will just be like some of the other games apart for where you obligated to were your uniform a school
what do you all think?
I was so surprised that Penny's bag was not immediately available in shops at launch~
As for the game, I am giving it a lot of leeway due to the ~Great Illness~ messing with everything for the past 2+ years. Especially since they focused on the core needs: Good Designs (something for most aesthetic tastes), good story, and freedom of playstyle.
All the other things that would have been nice but lower priority were treated with lower priority. This is how I would want a game to be, I would rather have a worthwhile game than one that is empty but pretty (looking at you BotW)~
However, the excuse only lasts so long, so the trend of the next few games will determine whether they are worth continuing with~
For an unfinished game theres so much fucking content goddamn
I wish I felt the way she did about Scarlet and violet, but unfortunately it will be the first pokemon game I will never finish.
10 minutes try 10 seconds for the eevee bag to be sold out. There is a huge cry for it. I think pokemon should team up with swarvoski to make tera pokemon statues. I want my sprigatito in tera form crystal statue.
Psh I just want them to add the bag to the game tbh so I can purchase it
Shiny hunting is indeed something in this game.
9:26 Very important for me, i'm colourblind, so shiny hunting is especially hard in this game.
yeah i feel you on that one 🥲
4:07 I can see someone thought its level 30-ish Fire type could deal with Grusha, take down Frosmoth with ease just to be yeeted by Beartic.
It knows, EARTHQUAKE.
Honestly, no shiny sound effect is good in my eyes, because when you find them, they feel so satisfying
One thing I hate about scarlet and violet is that there’s no sparkle noises or a effect to tell you, like what happened to colorblind people?
I can't imagine them finding any good reason to take it out so I assume they just ran out of time and it was just something they couldn't get to. It sucks 😕

For real like colorblind people exist tho-
I’m not one of them but still
Same goes for the deaf or hard of hearing players or even possibly blind players? Like recently the Gens have gone downhill with inclusive shiny hunting (Also makes finding the barely different color shineys harder as well) I think it would be best to have a semi big shiny sparkle around the pokemon in a good amount of intervals + a very loud noise (not to loud but like stands out among the other noises + maybe also a audio ability to turn up the shiny sound or even just a accessibility feature to make the shineys stand out more like the loud noise or more shiney sparkles) (tho I've never played a pokemon game this is just what I feel would be best as someone who knows stuff about pokemon)
@@Emily-lh6em As long as people still buy it, they cut costs as much as possible resulting in these unfinished games.
Even though they have a point
the only good thing about the shiny sound effect being basically gone, is that i no longer have auditory hallucinations of it while shiny hunting
It's genuinely a good game.
Before Scarlet, I’ve only ever found one Shiny Pokemon, a Wooper in Diamond. In Scarlet, I’ve found *three,* a Torkoal, Oricorio, and Bisharp.
