I'm a big believer in having a routine, so this helps even more, and it's something fun and easy to do right when I wake up as well. Now I play a little bit on my switch before bed and it knocks me right out, and the app knows when you actually fall asleep even after you set it up for sleepytime.
Yes! This has saved me from SO much doomscrolling, there's nothing worse than giving yourself an anxiety attack right before bed lol. Forcing myself to put my phone down like that helps so much

I've been playing Pokémon Sleep since it came out and it made me realize that I have very consistent sleep which... kind of surprised me. My team is usually... 5 Butterfree OTL Hoping they add Scyther and Scizor to the game at some point.
I tried getting into pokemon sleep, but i work nights. With my usual bedtime being between 3 and 6 am, it took me about twice as long to progress even with premium. I also thought I was their target audience
Yeah that's actually why I skipped on it as well. It seems like those of us who might need some help with our sleep the most are just completely excluded from consideration. All it needs is "what time do you consider the start of your day?" and use that to set a "morning", even if that's actually physically early evening in the real world.
I though Pokemon Sleep would be a game that I would not like to play, cause they said you had to plug in your phone the whole night. But I tried it out, without the plug in part and my phones battery is strong enough to easily last the night while the game is "playing". So I've been playing the game every night since the release ^^" The sleep poses are all really really cute and it's fun xD Having friends in the game helps a lot and I should have considered getting them way sooner xD
Lucy says she doesn't want bug fixes for Pokémon Sleep, but having to have your phone on and unlocked should be considered a bug itself, not a feature.

I originally bought a Pokeball plus + for Pokemon Go, but when I learned it was compatible with Pokemon Sleep, I got curious and started using Pokemon Sleep. Basically, if you like Pokemon sleep, get a Pokeball. It's basically non-intrusive as long as you have a space next to your pillow to place it (it goes in between my two pillows)
i played pokemon sleep for about a week when it released, just out of curiosity. i was more excited about the recording function when i found out it had one because i have been known to talk in my sleep!! ever since i found out i've been so curious what i say in my sleep, and apparently my most common thing is to... laugh. sometimes it's LOUD laughing, like i just cackle in my sleep for some reason. i also sleeptalk and one time my friend reported that i straight up just sung "hes in your bed but im in ur twitch chat" (song by wilbur soot) in my sleep so i mean anythings possible 😭 pokemon sleep helped me discover that i swear in my sleep, too, apparently! no filter on the sleep brain. oh i'm also a notorious sleep-kicker and twister, when i wake up nothing in my bed is the same as when i fell asleep, so half of my pokemon sleep recordings were a combination of my distant fan, me making gibberish noises in my sleep, sometimes it included my cat yelling at me to wake up, and a LOT of moving around. my sleep study that i did a year ago informed me that apparently i 'wake up' roughly like... 50 something times an hour??? and the normal amount of this is like 15?????? it also told me that i uh.... i still move around in my sleep during deep sleep, which is when im supposed to be like, y'know, out like a light? but no i was still kicking and laughing even then. i genuinely have no idea what getting a full night's worth of sleep is supposed to feel like, which was why we did the sleep study to begin with. my only real peeve about pokemon sleep is that it didn't let me save any of the recordings afterwards :/ also at some point i was mainly just using it for the recordings which devolved into me not loading it up anymore bc of how long it took to get all the dailies out of the way LMAO. but genuinely though, pokemon sleep was a peaceful experience when i did have the patience for it. i might load it back up again if they let me save the sleep recordings that do occasionally come out as words
Hey, on a note Evie, I found that if you befriend the pokemon that you find after sleeping, you get bonus candies, on top of the ones you get just from seeing them, and then if you send them to the professor (i.e. get rid of them), you get even more bonus candies, so it's definitely worth it to befriend the same species. Not only that, but you don't even have to befriend the same specific pokemon. You could have the evolved form of one, and both see and befriend and then release them, and you'll get candies for the base form! So tonnes of candies. Also, I recommend using your sleep points on those hard candies whenever you can. I was in it about 2 months before I evolved my Growlithe into an Arcanine. Now he's level 36. :3
I also played it for three months using the Po Go plus +. I enjoyed the slower type of play, and it actually helped me observe my changes in my sleep as I changed from being employed to being unemployed and back to employment again :D
I wanted to like playing Pokémon Sleep, but when I was playing it, it was competing with being able to have a chance at remembering and recording my dreams. Being the first thing to force itself into my thoughts right as I wake up and go to bed was just too much. It's a little ironic because I'm addicted to Pokemon to the extent that there's usually Pokemon popping up in my dreams too. I value getting decent sleep too, but Pokemon Sleep isn't what I want to use to gauge how well I slept, my own dreams are.
Maybe I should try this. I’m still playing Magikarp Jump (by which I mean I log in every few days to execute my strategy to optimize for event diamonds because that’s the only thing left to do.) I’m starting to max out values that shouldn’t be maxed. Recently figured out the maximum amount of jump points is 12.9 trillion. You are not meant to get that far.
I ended up giving up on this game about two months in. I got to a point where I wasn't encountering any new pokemon or styles no matter how much I slept, and I didn't see a single eevee during the eevee event. That was the nail in the coffin and I haven't looked back lol
Pokemona sleep is actually a very well designed app to encourage healthy sleep behaviors because the penalties and focus on getting "bad sleep" are very minimal and overall its just very positive about the sleep you did get. If the rewards were too focused on quality of sleep it would be more likely to contribute to sleep anxiety than actually be helpful. I actually never struggled with sleep except during puberty but I liked the idea of it and I still enjoy it playing since the day it launched.
I hate how even an app with custom bedtimes still punishes you if you're on a different work schedule. Literally noon is sometimes the earliest I get up because I work evenings and get off between midnight and 2am depending on the day. It makes tracking apps so hard! Just let me offset the clock!
I love this game but I hate that I HAVE to cheat because my sleep schedule is opposite of the "normal" sleep schedule. I sleep during the day and am awake at night. If anything, Pokemon Sleep messes up my sleep schedule because I set alarms for lunch and dinner which interrupts my sleep lol.
i’ve been playing for around six months now and haven’t payed a cent, and i would say my experience is VERY different when it comes to befriending pokemon, since i’ve been playing for enough time i have nearly every pokémon i’ve seen so far, and it actually quickly becomes frustrating , since you are REQUIRED to use the 3 point biscuit so you catch so many pokémon you don’t need and it fills up your inventory :( like i know you can get rid of them but i feel bad
I play Pokemon Sleep since the day it came out. I really enjoy it! But yeah it's definitly not a game you can or should blast through. After 6 Months my highest level Pokemon is my lvl 31 Clefable. And sure, while I would love to have more Dreamshards or Candies to lvl them up faster, I'm generally fine with the pacing of the game! Also I didn't know you can tab the lil fan in the cooking screen to make it go faster!
It's a sleep tracker with game elements, definitely not designed to be speedran as you want to improve your sleep patterns in the long term. The fact that there is the hard cap at Level 50 right now yet they have stats at levels 60, 75, and 100 showing shows that they want you to be playing that way as well.
About that language bug you mentioned around 15:00, i think it was actually worse than just the language changing. It happened to me, and it looked more like i swapped accounts with someone, as the box was filled with pokemon i didn't have at higher levels.
another nice video!! i love listening to your pokemon opinions :> this makes me wanna try it out, but i have a fan and sleep aid videos playing at night so i dont know if it'd like that? but i DO sleep like... 11 hours a day.... it doesnt sound like it punishes oversleeping, so id have the most op pokemon ever....
I personally just put my phone in sleep mode, leave it in my room, and go to do some stuff or watch something for 30 minutes so the game thinks I went to sleep right away
I do have to say that though I’m pretty sure they’re pretty common encounters in the first area, finding a Whynaut and a Spheal one morning just absolutely made my day.
Lapis Lake looks so cool! I cant wait to get enough Sleep Styles to unlock it! Q A Q But yeah no glad youre enjoying the game. Been playing it every day since release and couldnt be happier with my sleep improvements ^^
I'm averaging 5 hours of sleep a night due to work and other obligations. Wanted to click off out of pure jealousy when I saw your 7.5 hours. That's a dream for me 😭
The best way to solve the Candy shortage is to max out your friends in the research community. You can get around 50 candies as selected by them, and you get bonuses like candies and meal tickets for maxing out friend levels.
Just based on your overview, i can tell you never got the Balanced Sleep night lol Also, another way to get candies is by making your main buddy the pokemon you want to farm them for. And you get candies from friends in game when you check their reports. I stopped playing because i felt like i was being punished too often for trying to fix my sleep schedule by going to bed earlier. And then I also was getting annoyed that I was checking my phone as soon as i woke up, not that i dont already do it, but like, idk i think i did it more often and i didn't like it.
They did fix that issue on the sleep times, the allowance is now 90 minutes early or 30 mins late instead of just 30 mins either way, which worked for me recently when I had an early night when I was ill - definitely an improvement.
I work nights, and stay up late some days to do errands/chores. And I switch to daytime routines on my weekends to do shopping and to see people. I literally can't stick to a set bedtime, not even considering rhe insomnia. If I go to bed too early I only sleep 3 hours 😭

“If you take it too seriously you’re going to get tired”
Yeah, that’s the point of the game
You had me at Select Button. I loved CookHunt and played Magikarp Jump briefly, so I'm definitely going to check this out. Thanks.
I though Pokemon Sleep would be a game that I would not like to play, cause they said you had to plug in your phone the whole night.
But I tried it out, without the plug in part and my phones battery is strong enough to easily last the night while the game is "playing".
So I've been playing the game every night since the release ^^"
The sleep poses are all really really cute and it's fun xD
Having friends in the game helps a lot and I should have considered getting them way sooner xD
Lucy says she doesn't want bug fixes for Pokémon Sleep, but having to have your phone on and unlocked should be considered a bug itself, not a feature.
Nah thats just how nintendo wants its stuff..
Remember the alarmclock on the DS.. DS needs to be on to wake you up.. they live it 😅
@@ForumcoldiArchonkeeping your game console in standby for an alarm clock so it can wake you is quite a bit different from keeping your phone unlocked
Especially with the increased availability of oled screens, I kind of wanted to try this game, but it just feels like a recipe for immediate screen burn in
@@_underscore_9271 When you place the phone face down the screen goes black. No burn in!
Most of my recordings in Sleep are either my snoring, or my dog making noise at early hours
I have three teams I use on Sleep. One for curries, one for desserts/drinks and one for salads. I refuse to "optimise" my team for berries.
I read this title as "I played pokemon sleep for 3 MINUTES" And of course I immediately clicked the video
3 months???? Damn hope you wake up soon
"and then i forgot to cancel it, that's how they get ya." 100% I fall for that every time too :P
That 4am progress loss keeps getting me😭😭😭
I ended up giving up on this game about two months in.
My recordings always had my dogs howls, deaf as a post and still the loudest creature in the house 😂
My favorite part of Sleep was being able to listen to the recordings in the mornings and find out if I had any night terrors 😄
I hate how even an app with custom bedtimes still punishes you if you're on a different work schedule. Literally noon is sometimes the earliest I get up because I work evenings and get off between midnight and 2am depending on the day. It makes tracking apps so hard! Just let me offset the clock!
I can’t believe you slept for 3 months straight just for one game.
I also got obsessed with this game in all the same ways except spending any money on it, it is perfectly quaint
Random fact: I found my first shiny on my 4th day. It was a Metapod. Now it’s a Butterfree. 😊
I've spent nearly 200 days straight playing this game and I'm still very very VERY tired and sleepy
Same, I'll be hitting session 200 next Friday
As someone whos alwayd struggled to maintain a routine, Pokemon Sleep has been amazing.
Pokémon sleep is one of the weirdest concept for a Pokémon game
i’ve been playing for around six months now and haven’t payed a cent, and i would say my experience is VERY different when it comes to befriending pokemon, since i’ve been playing for enough time i have nearly every pokémon i’ve seen so far, and it actually quickly becomes frustrating , since you are REQUIRED to use the 3 point biscuit so you catch so many pokémon you don’t need and it fills up your inventory :( like i know you can get rid of them but i feel bad
Me after getting my TCG addiction under control after Lucy's last video just in time for a new one: Aww shit, here we go again 🙃
I got told I had “mom energy” when I was caught feeding my Snorlax dinner at work one day 😂
Pokemon "Ur Drunk" when???
Pokemon Go
Pokemon Home
Pokemon Ur Drunk
And then pokemon healthy meals
It has definitely helped me sleep more regularly AND longer, and it's just adorable and fun.
I’m just happy that, everything considered, you are sleeping better now.
I was wondering this week when we’d get a new video. Then we get another banger! Thanks for all the great content Lucy! 🫶
0:35 HUGE missed opportunity to make this Mareep
pokémon sleep gave me clinical lycanthropy 😔
About that language bug you mentioned around 15:00, i think it was actually worse than just the language changing. It happened to me, and it looked more like i swapped accounts with someone, as the box was filled with pokemon i didn't have at higher levels.
another nice video!! i love listening to your pokemon opinions :> this makes me wanna try it out, but i have a fan and sleep aid videos playing at night so i dont know if it'd like that? but i DO sleep like... 11 hours a day.... it doesnt sound like it punishes oversleeping, so id have the most op pokemon ever....
Omg SAME
Oh good, I'm not the only one that leaves the game on while I eat breakfast to boost my score.
I've caught 2 shinies! Shiny Eevee during Eevee week (which I did not expect) and a shiny Bellsprout like 2 days later. :]
I personally just put my phone in sleep mode, leave it in my room, and go to do some stuff or watch something for 30 minutes so the game thinks I went to sleep right away
Hope you had a lot of wonderful sleeps. 🌌
Lol! The fact that you can now actually Shiny hunt for Pokémon even in your sleep now...
Pokemon Sleep to the polls
I do have to say that though I’m pretty sure they’re pretty common encounters in the first area, finding a Whynaut and a Spheal one morning just absolutely made my day.
Just came to comment to say Kalos is back!
That's a dream for me 😭
Played for 3 months late to the video for 3 months
YIPEE YOUR BACK
The best way to solve the Candy shortage is to max out your friends in the research community. You can get around 50 candies as selected by them, and you get bonuses like candies and meal tickets for maxing out friend levels.
Just based on your overview, i can tell you never got the Balanced Sleep night lol
Also, another way to get candies is by making your main buddy the pokemon you want to farm them for.
Pokémon Sleep is my jam!
Yayy sleep 😴😊
BFUJFJD RINA!!
5:24 I remember this game! I used to love this game before I lost my phone, and the game. I forgot it. But this video helped me find my old favorite! Thank you!

I tried to use Pokémon sleep but the first time I got a message telling me to go to sleep and it asked give access to the microphone to track how good you are sleeping, I got spooked and never touched it.
i always wanted to love this game, i downloaded it many times and everytime i forget that you have to keep your phone on the entire night. What a waste...
