My cars got bigger and bigger with kids. About a month before the first kid was born, bought a buggy online. When it arrived, it did not fit in the trunk - new car was bought - that was an expensive first shopping trip. When the second kid arrived, the new car was running out of space, so had to upgrade again to an SUV. It is still a tight squeeze at Christmas with luggage and presents to take on a long journey, but I think we're good (and not planning on more kids either).

Step 1. Remove the parcel shelf.
Step 2. Use the rear seats footwell.
No problems then. 2 year old +baby is my experience and everything fit nicely. Though for baby 2 you don't bring half the stuff

Yup, tow hitch box is the best for consumption. Irritating part is you may need to park too far from a charger and so the cable length is too short.
