Hypermiling the ID.4 - S2 - Road to 600 km / 373 mi

- In 2021 we did our first hypermiling video with the ID.4 and reached a decent distance on a single charge. This year I hopefully pass this distance with the stuff I learned from my first try to do it even better. Lets see how that goes in season 2!. Enjoy

Oh.. wanted this to put online next week. Whooppsss. Anyway.. It was a nice ride. Should have started later to have a lower longterm consumption. All the things for hopefully a better run for season 3.
Attrition warfare against the machine ! Lot of sweat to make this video, very nice, thank you !!!
Next step, end up pushing 2 tons 🤣
Thanks for suffering in the name of science. 😅
Teslabjørn got 575 km from the Enyaq Coupe RS in the "sunday driving" test, too.
I think you did really well. I was thinking... Holy Crap... You´re going to get stuck on the motorway. Guess the roads are pretty flat and not mountainous like it is here in spain. I guess the new tyres helped quite a bit. I was quite surprised with the last journey that I did ... i kept the speed to around tops 105 kph and had a lot more battery than I would have done.
Your comment about just driving faster and charge being faster.
I was just looking at your video of the drive to Austria and despite driving much faster, the average speed was very little higher than this test, if I recall correctly.
Obviously driving faster is less boring, but 575km from 1 charge meant you could have made Austria with max 2 charge stops, IF you could stick driving at the lower speed and hold your bladder.😂
Fantastic range achieved, admittedly in high temperatures with few large hills, but amazing nonetheless.
Excelente
Cool Vid. I am also trying 600 km

Hi Furkan, thanks for another very nice video! Q: how old is the battery and how many kilometers did the car have?
Do you have enough data to make a graphic of the degradation versus age and versus km. driven?
I think it was around 45k km
Awesome video. What year and drive (RWD or AWD) do you have? And what software version is the car running?
2020, RWD, SW 2.4. Current 3.2 feels more efficient so time will tell 😁
When hypermiling you should use D-mode
Drivemode doesnt matter with travel assist on ;)
@@EV.Furkan that’s true. But I think you can do better with travel assist of and in d mode. But still great results.
will you do hypermiling with version 3.2 to compare?
Yep, waiting on a good few days of an heatwave here
I appreciate your effort. The hot cabin temperature seems like the worst part. Did you set the car to blow fresh air (“vent”) without needing the AC cooling or heating equipment. Can you open the window slightly? Or how mush worse would it be with some AV cooling?
What’s the most efficient sustained speed? 5km/h? 15km/hr? 25? Chart the speed vs power rate?
I feel the most efficient speed before air resistance takes over is around 60-70 kph. And thats not a speed i can drive continuously, because will have stop and go traffic (traffic ligjts, roundabouts and even junctions). Second best is 85-90 behind a truck 😄
@@EV.Furkan ACC FTW! Draftin!
Thanks!
Hey bro, I bought an id 4 china car and I live in america do you know how can I update from 3.1.4 to 3.2 ???
Chinese and European version doesnt match. Different SW. i believe its also a dealer update over there
You should’ve gone deeper man. Car had a lot of power limit left. Easily 2 kwh was left out in that battery, which makes around 15 km range.
Stopping with a full powerlimit is a good goal to have while passing the 0% for few km's already. Its not we drive till we cant anymore video. And 2 kwh left without any indication is difficult argument to hold. could be 1.. could be 3.
