Great video....so interesting. Love the fact that Cath's house sits on the same stone that our Statue of Liberty stands. In 1965 I made the climb to the top of her crown...(her arm was blocked off for repairs). Can not wait to see your Mum's quilts all finished.
All the quilts are lovely. Your mum would be so happy Of course, Cath being the long arm quilter and quilter, will quilt her quilts last. It’s like the carpenter who always has honey do things the need done but hi s wife has to wait!🤣🤣🤣. Thank you for sharing.❤️🧵🪡❤️
This was so much fun. I used to be such a snob about the idea of taking my quilts to a longarmer. Thinking that I needed to quilt every single one myself. Now I believe it's a wonderful collaboration between artists. Hand quilting has become a passion of mine and because of you I have taken up epp! Working on my first now as I care for my Mom in hospice at home. Qullting is such great therapy. Watchung your videos has been therapy as well so thank you and Anna for helping you out so much, family are so precious.
Btw...one should never reply to comments without their glasses on! I thought I gave this a thumbs up initially and apparently I gave it the opposite, so sorry!
Oh my! A real treat to see - just watched your “red suitcase reveal” video last evening, and now the chance to see your Mom’s quilts at the long-armer’s to be quilted. And so much more! Kate and Anna and Cath - thank you so much for this wonderful window into the process of final quilting for a quilt. I loved every minute, especially loved the sample at the end that showed the several weights of Aurafil thread and how they will work with the quilt. Learned SO much! Thank you all!
I found you about a month ago through a recommendation from You Tube and have binge watching since. When my work is complete I knit and watch. Love it from Mississippi, USA.
That was fun. I especially liked the quilt with the batik from Cath. Somehow it reminds me of stained glass widows in a beautiful church. What a nice and interesting trip.
Goodness! I know I am 2 yrs. Late to the party, but, I just 'found' Kate and her channels in the past couple of months. All the quilt tops are S.T.U.N.N.I.N.G.!!! Cath's quilt tops are ginormous!!! So beautiful each and every one! ❤❤❤
Thank you Kate, for giving me the motivation to dig out my own mom's quilt tops and have a local shop do the quilting. I really related to the episode where you unpacked the red suitcase. Thank you for sharing that emotional journey.
Hi, Kate. You mentioned the pink and red quilt so fondly that I went back to watch those videos again. As you were hand sewing the binding on, Norma popped up on the table blocking the camera. Your expression and the situation made me giggle so much I had tears in my eyes. I'm 70 and giggling... The quilt was beautiful, but you and Norma were the icing! Thanks for keeping that unexpected gem in your finished content. Dee in Pennsylvania.
I found a quilter to finish 4 quilt tops my great-grandmother pieced. My g-grandma died in 1978. The tops have been in my mom's basement 40+ years. The quilter said some of the fabric is from the 1930s. So I think taking 3.5 years to get your mom's tops to the long-arm quilter is pretty good. It was amazing to see my great-grandma's quilts completed! Can't wait to see how your mom's look 💚
I loved the quilt show, especially the batik, thank you all. I've often wondered what it would be like to take my quilt top in to a longarmer, now at least I can be a little prepared for the topics.
Kate, thanks for another great video. Your mum's quilts are all so lovely and they are in great hands with Cath. Look forward to seeing them all quilted.
🥰💕Kate & Anna I loved visiting with you today. Can’t wait to see your Moms quilts & the progress leading up to the finished quilts. We will have to have a quilt party on the Lime Green Sofa as each one is completed. Thanks for a great day together! 🥰💕💃🏻🌻🌸🌺💐🌷🌹🪴🌸
I love the wonderful relationship you have with Anna! Having a good relationship with your child's spouse is more important than some people think! I have the same kind of relationship with my daughters husband. I have said this since the begining Kate, putting your video on while I am working away in my quilt studio is just the highlight of my week! Thank you for the years of treating us as family Kate! As always, lots of hugs from Nova Scotia 🥰❤
Kate , what a treat, Thankyou for sharing this with us. I always marvel at the making of HANDMADE things and the hours spent making them. You are truly one of a kind, the kind of friend I would love to have. I am sure that far off in the blue yonder your mother is smiling and probably saying” O my Kate, so nice to see how much you treasure those quilts.”. Thankyou for this great video. GodBless you.......mc
I'm slowly making my way through all of Kate's videos. How special this one is!!! Getting her Mom's quilt tops quilted!!! I love it!!! And I laughed out loud when Cath said "no one eats until I'm done" reference to her using her dining table as her design board.
What a fun journey on the lime green bus! I loved seeing the beautiful country and all those gorgeous quilts! Now, will someone pass me that snack box please!🥰
To say they aren't the best quilts is 🤯. They're perfect and perfect before your changes, Kate, yet still darling quilts. I absolutely love your mother's quilts.
Kate, this video is the best one yet. You and Anna having such a great time and wonderful relationship. I have a great relationship with my daughter-in-laws and son-in-laws. That is so important in life. Your mum’s quilts are beautiful. Cath’s are beautiful also. Loved the little history lesson about the house and Statue of Liberty as I live in the states. Can’t wait to see the video of the finished quilting. Thanks for sharing all your sewing expertise with us on the Long green sofa.
Hi Kate. I enjoyed your video. I follow Cath now too. Her quilt tops were lovely. Looking forward to seeing some of her work being carried out on you Mums quilts. That will be fun. Thanks for your lovely video Anna and Kate. Take care and see you soon xxx

Thank you Kate and Anna for sharing these quilts that Kate's Mom made. They are beautiful and it was fun to "meet" Cathy; obviously a talented quilter. Looking forward to seeing the Instagram feed showing the progress Cath makes as she long-arm quilts all of your Mum's quilts. This was so much fun seeing the quilts and Cath's ideas for the stitching. She has a great sense of humour. Anyone who has a picture of Beaker on the wall has to be willing to laugh at situation beyond control. Would have loved this to go on and on -- as you managed to do. Fantastic Kate! It was so enjoyable as well as informative! I loved seeing your mom’s quilts as well as Cat’s quilts. Can’t wait until you return to pick them up. Imagine Cat’s house built with the same sandstone as the Statue of Liberty?! Fascinating! You and Anna make such a great team!
Great Girls road trip! Thanks for letting us tag along to Scotland with you ❤ 😊 Bonus trunk show from the longarm quilter, love her style! And the house story.
Hi Kate and Anna Love your comment...let's go and catch a haggis😂I can imagine it as an animal myself! Those quilts will look beautiful but dare i say it...must cost a pretty penny. Have a happy sunday😘😘
Great video....so interesting. Love the fact that Cath's house sits on the same stone that our Statue of Liberty stands. In 1965 I made the climb to the top of her crown...(her arm was blocked off for repairs). Can not wait to see your Mum's quilts all finished.

Hi Kate and Anna
Love your comment...let's go and catch a haggis😂I can imagine it as an animal myself! Those quilts will look beautiful but dare i say it...must cost a pretty penny. Have a happy sunday😘😘
