Thank you to everyone who asked about the tea towel I am embroidering. My daughter Martha drew the images and it is printed onto lovely half Panama fabric. It is for sale here www.thelasthomelyhouse.co.uk
I think I finally figured out that you are the adult version of “Mr. Rogers”. It’s such a pleasant experience to watch and listen and experience the simple joys in your life and then go create my own. Thank you for what you bring to my day!☺️
I just love you to bits…you are like a special auntie that loves to share your life. Thank you for a space on the green couch. Having a cup of tea with you any day would be special .love from across the pond in Ontario ,Canada
Dear Kate, I want to tell you how grateful I am for your videos. I think RUclips creators underestimate their impact on others. I’m going to tell you a little bit of my story. My husband of 41 years died in august of last year. He was my best friend. A year before he died we adopted our four year old grandson, because my daughter has a severe mental illness. When I was young my grandmother taught me how to embroider. She use to tell me the back side of my work was like life it was messy. The finished top side was what we saw when we finally finished our work. The business of working through my grief has been like this for me. You have been a part of helping me work through all the pain. I love your inclusion of everyone. I have watched your videos and been able to laugh and be amazed at someone else’s creations. You have inspired me to move forward and I thank you for that and my little Charlie thanks you too. Blessings and well wishes coming your way from the other side of the lime green sofa. PS I don’t like to wear jewelry either or makeup, but I love to make it for others.
I love the way you find such joy in the smallest things. I’m hoping to learn from you,the beauty in everyday items. You are a joy to watch….the world needs more people like you.
No matter the age of your videos I adore starting my day and having my morning tea ( or coffee ) with you. In my mind I feel like I'm in the U.K. not the Pacific Northwest in the U.S.A.. I'm in my 70s and appreciate you so much.
You've done once again, Kate, made me feel at peace. I might say that you are looking well and sincerely hope that it is the case. Thank you again, take care.
I loved the thread cabinet. I also enjoy how creative you are and how willing you are to invite everyone into your home evey week and see how your creative mind works. You are such a joy. How I would love to spend an afternoon in your company with a lovely cup of tea and just chat. I am so glad I came across your channel and look forward to seeing what each new week brings. Take care dear Kate and stay well . ❤️
An absolute delight as always Kate. Music for my soul. Simple pleasures are life’s greatest treasures. Thank you for your lovely company. Much love Gail xx
You know what, I could just watch this video over and over. It brings me calmness which I value highly during these turbulent times. I’ll just go and watch Kate for a bit. Thank you as always, I’m so glad I found your channel! 🌸
This was wonderful. You feel like such a friend. I would be so happy to have a cup o' tea with you in the garden.Thank you Kate for sharing so much of your life with us. Love.
Kate, you give us all permission to to be wantonly Bohemian! I love coming to visit The Last Homely House. I feel so at home. Thank you for your hospitality! See you soon... jw
Iv not just liked them, I’ve loved them. You could use actual buttons and quilted bits if it’s not going to be used as a tea towel…..I may be saying that because I’m not a quilter but more of a scrapbooker, card maker, smash book dabbler. Love listening to you and watching you create you wonders. Thanks for sharing your ideas👍🏽🙋🏽♀️💛
Kate is like an old frIend & teacher. I binge watch a few hours ev day, mostly at night when ev is tucked in bed & the house is quiet. I find myself reaching to sip tea with Kate as she is very good at inviting us into the conversation. I have so many interests in common but my guess is that many others feel the same. I have learned allot of tips for which I am grateful. Watching her interact with her cats, birds, nature is so refreshing. I find myself laughing in ev video & mostly I feel a sense of familiar & calm. Thank you Kate, you are a natural at this & I look forward to watching more. ❤😍🥰
I just found you on RUclips. I am a 68 1/2 year bold Nana and have no talents. 5 years ago my son in law bought me a Cricuit. I dabble in sublimation, wood crafts, card making and my kids bought me my first sewing machine. I do t know much of any of my crafts but I LOVE TO GIVE GIFTS. “You are a breath of fresh air”. You are so inspiring. Thank You , Thank You, Thank You. Just want to thank you about the thread Bunnies. It helps with the bobbin nest but also unthreading my machine. That’s enough to make me want to quit. Sorry went on so long From California, USA.
Leaders & Enders & thread bunnies!!! What a wonderful new idea that you have taught me❣️🥰 I am 75 years old; have been sewing since I was in Jr. High & look at what I have just learned 😃 You are such a good teacher, Kate 👏👏
What a lovely treasure hunt. You are just amazing how you craft things and find places for it. Happy you are forsure and thanking you for making all of happy and content watching this video. I wait and wait throughout the week to see and hear your calming voice, oh what joy it brings to my house every week.🫶🥰
Dear Kate, thank you for this wonderful video. My day was a little rough with two tired little people and despite (or because of) they were so tired they could not fell asleep... but now it is quiet in the house and I got a while for myself with my knitting and you. I feel relaxed and filled with new energy to fix the kitchen and the laundry. And when I feel overwhelmed I try to tell myself that you might not have had as much creating time when your kids were small but times change and one day I will have a lot of creating time and miss those busy days. Love from the West Coast of Sweden, Barbara
Well Kate...no one could ever accuse you of being a minimalist...Very relaxing and enjoyable thank you for taking the time to show us a little snippet of your day...Jan.x
Here’s punctuation for the “not a minimalist” … !!!🥰 I was needing a little of your peace and cheer - It’s such a gift that we can count on finding both when we turn to you! Love, Kathy 🤓🐶💕🌸
Such a wonderful afternoon with my friend from across the pond. I think I like you so much because you get it - you are doing things because they make you happy - give you joy. I hate it when someone asks me, “what are you going to DO with that?”. To me that’s not always important. The joy is in the creating, in the learning. Thank you for sharing your journey through this wonderful day.
I so agree with this, I’ll do craft fairs approaching Christmas, but if I don’t sell anything, it doesn’t matter as they are my creations and I love them anyway! I just gave a load of baby cardigans to my boss (a gp) to give to the midwives to give to new mums.
You remind me so much of my mum, who sadly passed due to Covid early in the pandemic. I inherited a cornucopia of beads, wool, fabric, embroidery projects and craft materials which I had no idea how to deal with. However, your cleaver ideas are inspiring me to make use of her treasures and develop new projects with them. Thank you Kate.
Nice video. With some good ideas. Thread catchers, I also use to maintain continuity. But leaders and Enders is a totally new way of saving time while making an entirely different project. What a wonderful idea! Thanks 🙏 ❤
I have been in a slump. This visit has helped to get me back on the sewing, creating track. Sometimes gardening helps and has. Thanks for the uplift. Hugs and blessings
Joen Perkins sounds like you and l have been going thro the same and Kate makes feel so much better don’t know if you will get this or not my name is Sheila Cossey
Oh I've been in a slump, too. Can't seem to sew much except straight lines (simple zip totes). I feel like the 'leaders/enders' is very inviting. And lord knows there's no shortage of fabric in my house!
I love that!! My mother made a table cloth years ago that has the 12 days of Christmas on it. She has passed away now and it means alot to me. My grandma embroidered also. I did some years ago but nothing like they and you do. I enjoy watching your videos.
Hiii. Good afternoon. It’s noon in Puerto Rico. I want to thank you for your wonderful videos. Not only I learn, it gives me peace when I watch them. Many Blessings ❤️
A woman after my own heart, tea first, craft next. Your fab 💜. And a cat too. Have a go, what's the worst that can happen - leads to so many fun adventures. Your video is like the gentle joy of a conversation with a loved one while their just doing sorting out a project, sigh, so relaxing, thank you.
Your tea towel project inspired me to find an embroidery project I started years ago and abandoned when I moved from Illinois to Wisconsin. Seems like I need to get back to it! Such a lovely look into your creative day! Much love to you, Kate.
Hey Caro - good to know I’m not the only one who squirrels stuff away! I was happy to find that I still like that old project! Out for a walk on this blustery day, then will settle in with floss and needle. Take care.
I remember when you went through the shelves and the amazing tower of drawers. Such treasures were found. Love drawers. Today is the turning of the calendar page and our wedding anniversary. I love the image for this month. Bunting fun and dangling things. What a special day it is. Thank you, Kate, for being a part of it. Enjoy your garden bench in the sunshine, doing all the things that make you happy. See you next week.
It is Sunday afternoon here in California and I am hemming a pair of shorts for my granddaughter. My family understands and likes my skills - sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidering, building big and little things etc, but sometimes they don’t quite get the little odd ball items I produce
One of the things I love about using those small snippets and offcuts is they make me remember the quilt I made and the occasion for the quilt. Those thoughts usually make me happy. Just love the bunting and the beads . You are corrrect.... making these things and putting them in the spaces you occupy can make you happy. Have a blessed day!
What a fun day you have had Kate. I love it. I am retired and my days are made up of small things I just enjoy doing intermingled with the chores we all have to do. Life is good.
Kate, it's so relaxing to listen to you and to see all those creations. It's like sitting in your room with you. "At home", that's how I feel and that's what I need. THANK YOU!!!
Having just purchased a wall hanging with this written in gold "always find time to do the things that make you happy ", I believe someone stole this idea from watching you. Love Dear Kate
My mother taught me how to embroider when I was about 10. I'm 68 now. I still have several pairs of pillowcases I made. Some of them are over 20 years old. I mostly to counted cross stitch now. My sister has a number of pieces I made for her. And her children and grandchildren have pieces also. Now it is expected that Aunt Bonnie will make something to mark important milestones in their lives.
What wonderful treasures you are creating for your family members. Imagine these nieces and grand nieces when they are 68 and holding these memories in their hands and going back in time. What a Blessing you are to them all.
Just found your channel this evening and I'm thrilled RUclips suggested it. It was absolutely delightful to spend time knitting and listening to you. I love your beaded decorations and I am also in the middle of a clear up at the minute!
Thank u so much for clearing up the bunnies and beginner and ends. My mom taught me to use “ rabbits” because they multiply so fast . My friends call them spiders because of all the thread legs they wind up with. I definitely will use the beginning and Enders idea. The beads in the tunnel will be fabulous. My entertainment is watching you be so independent and creative. You make the best of your time making yourself happy. I want to be like you when I grow up. P.S. I’m older than you.
I really should stop watching, but that's not possible... you make such nice things and talk about them with such enthusiasm and so much fun.... Finding old things again, it's so recognizable. We just moved and there are still a lot of things in boxes. To relax me between working in our old/new house, I ordered your tea towel today. I know there is embroidery thread in a box somewhere, but where??? So that's what I'm going to look for, between the renovations. Thank you for your efforts in making the videos. Kind regards from France
I just adore these random DITL of videos. A much needed lofty and cheerful space in time in a crazy stressful world. Thanks Kate, peace and love from Northern Ontario 💗🍁
Oops, the last sentence ran away with me. Anyway, there are things I make just because I like to have them in front of me. It is nice to see you, Kate, doing the same. What lovely idea stringing up these tiny pieces of material in your tunnel. I love it. It is such a joy to watch color move and shimmer, whether the object is made by nature or by you.
The back of the stitching looking as nice as the front...HA! Not happening at my house 🤣. Wouldn't it look lovely to incorporate solar fairy lights in with your bead drops?
This video was heavenly!! So relaxing, creative, and enjoyable. I loved the soft piano music in the background - a nice compliment to you talking but not overpowering as some are. Thank you for sharing a glimpse of your day. Love the greenhouse tunnel decorating!!
yes, glimpses into your lovely day, so enjoyable~My lovely new sewing machine is buried in the over crowded sewing room! In order to get it out, I must do a lot of clearing out. I enjoyed the simplicity of hanging the little squares of red fabrics on a rope of cotton, very festive! Perfect for a little room in back of the house we put up for a hot tub which needs fixing! Love to you, Kate!
What is a Polly tunnel? I love, love joining you in your wonderful old home that has so many fascinating things to see. Thank you for always sharing with us and just being you.
Thank you so very much for sharing the quiet beauty of your life. You’ve blessed me today, just as you have many times in the past. Orlando, Florida USA
Oh Kate, you are such a joy. I love your bit of bunting in the poly-tunnel. And the beaded wires are so pretty!! Thank you for this so relaxing day with you. Cheers P.S. love you cup and saucer and the teapot warmer. So lovely.
I always enjoy visiting the your Last Homely House. I love what you are doing in your polytunnel. I can see how it would make you happy, I hope there is a tea towel left in your shop, I will look. Then I have to find out from my daughter how to do pay pale because I believe that is how we pay. You are so blessed to be able to do things that make you happy. Blessings
I've only just recently found your channel and I absolutely love your videos. Honestly each time I watch and listen to you I feel myself feel calmer and my sense of joy battery recharges beautifully. Thank you for sharing yourself, your passion and gifts with me. You really are a treasure.
I love the bunting in the poly tunnel! The bead dangles too! (As long as they don't catch in your hair - hehe.) I have drawers full of blocks I've made using the leader and ender method. Even whole quilts!
This is why I’m one of your patrons. You and I are so much alike in so many ways I just love your house and your ideas and your beautiful surroundings thank you so much for making my days better. 🥰….And your chubby cat 🐈
Kate, this was so relaxing that I gave up organizing my craft room, got a cup of tea and enjoyed every second of watching. Who can go wrong with a little bling in the poly tunnel ?! I also loved the bunting and what a fabulous place to hang it. I use leaders and enders but never thought to use a project piece for them. Thanks for sharing.
Kate, I just LOVE how you enjoy so many hobbies and dabble in each one whenever the mood hits. Love how you are decorating the green house! I am also a lover of color!!!!!! And can I just say I LOVE the mug! So glad you found it!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful life with us!
This chat filled me with peaceful happiness, Kate. I love to embroider and so have many small pieces that I’ve started and set aside with the idea of joining them all together some day. When you hung the simple bunting strip out in the tunnel it brought a happy tear to my eye. Such a simple bit of whimsy along with the beads enlivens that space. Have a wonderful day!
what a lovely relaxing look into your life Kate, usually watch on a Monday morning with my early morning cuppa. You are looking so much better Kate and seem to be back to your old wonderful self. Your poly-tunnel is looking green and healthy with all your seedlings, can't wait to see everything growing in the garden. Take care.
You are just a beautiful person and l love your days that you have . l watch you all the time and you make my day . Thank you Kate . Take care now .🦋🐝💐
Sorry I wasn’t finished. Knit, crochet & cross stitch. And recently started polishing stones my daughter & I collected camping at Lake Superior. So I think we’re kindred spirits. Always wanting to try something new. All the best to you & yours. And thanks for being a great friend to all of us. I’m 71 & have 5 grandkids.
Oh kate, you're living the life I dream about! I'm obsessed with beads and dangly things right now... and bunting is on my list... we have so many interests in common! The most beautiful thing is your peaceful location where you live... I hear noise day in and day out, and all night as well... people, skateboards, sirens, loud cars... how I wish... oh, how I wish... ❤🇨🇦
Hello Kate! Happy Mother's Day, just got off a Zoom call with my daughters and watching the the tours of their gardens and babies toddling about. Now to see what you have, always such a treat. Oh! Look at that tea towel! And all the embroidery floss! All the best to you from north Idaho, more snow on the Cabinet Mountains across the lake. Just rain on our side, but we have tulips!
Watching you enjoy your treasures is so much fun. Thanks for taking the Lime Green Couch out into the garden. I enjoyed stitching with you. Now I’m off to my garden. I have blooms on my strawberry plants!
How lovely, Id make them into cafe curtains rather that wipe up! Thanks to friendship bracelets when my kids were teens I have ridiculous amounts of embroidery silks, now the crazy quilt vs curtains debate begins. How lovely to live with bits of past loved endeavours, revisit and reinvent, the memories, the sources, its like revisiting a well lived and enjoyed past. My darling husband has long been sharing pic's and stories of a Snowy Owl family that comes back to an area he teaches at and every time I want to Share with John. wouldn't your leaders and enders make lovely button covers for pillows?! Festooned!
Yes, why not indeed! Just love your eclectic, whimsical, colorful style. Just such a happy atmosphere. Enjoyed every relaxing second! Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Valerie
Thank you Kate for a lovely gentle start to my day. I always enjoy your quiet and easy way you show us what you like doing. You teacher us, along the way that life doesn't't have to be run at a mile a minute. Just take it slow and steady. Thank you for your inspiration too. Love you and your Chanel.
My times visiting Kate at the last Homely house are times I treasure. Thankyou for sharing your peace and tranquility with me. I stitch as I watch and feel so content in this difficult age we live in. You are a very precious lady xxx
I love the leader and ender technique. I would but the bead dangly thing in my kitchen window so that I could see it all the time,it’s so pretty. Thank you so much for a lovely video Kate, you always put me in a happy place! Bless you xx🌸🌹

I love this! Agnes is just getting into the whole idea of fairies! I'll tell her! xxx
I think perhaps in these troubled and troubling times, we all need a Friend Like Kate. I am so thankful for her calm, kind, colourful creativity.
Brilliant idea, making leaders and enders as actual little blocks. Thanks for that Kate.
Bonnie, I have lovely aprons embroidered from my husband's grandmother. They are a treasure.
What wonderful treasures you are creating for your family members. Imagine these nieces and grand nieces when they are 68 and holding these memories in their hands and going back in time. What a Blessing you are to them all.
My mother taught me how to embroider when I was about 9 or 10. I'm 75 now.
I try to make embroidered pillowcases for everyone when they get married. It’s a tradition in our family.
Your home is like a museum with all these bits of collectibles.
Thank you once again Kate for making my Sunday so much better. You always make my heart peaceful. Blessings & Merry Beltane.
Shame on you Kate, now I need some beads in my greenhouse!😁
@@jamesmauch7661 I am originally from Germany, but have been in California for 58 years.
The back of the stitching looking as nice as the front...HA! Not happening at my house 🤣. Wouldn't it look lovely to incorporate solar fairy lights in with your bead drops?
Embroidery is my thing but I enjoy all you do Kate, just hanging with you for a wee while is a simple pleasure for sure-
Thank you for being you❣️
And now I know what a poly tunnel is! A ‘wonderful fun greenhouse’ to me here in Nevada in the US.
What a wonderful way to start my Monday, time spent on the lime green sofa and in the garden enjoying the positive energy💚💜💚
Love your DMC cabinet! So fun!
Wanted to say the same thing.
At first, I thought, it is in the wrong spot for keeping tea bags, until I realized, it is embroidery floss storage.
Where did you manage to find that?
This video was heavenly!! So relaxing, creative, and enjoyable. I loved the soft piano music in the background - a nice compliment to you talking but not overpowering as some are. Thank you for sharing a glimpse of your day. Love the greenhouse tunnel decorating!!
Hello Pam how are you
yes, glimpses into your lovely day, so enjoyable~My lovely new sewing machine is buried in the over crowded sewing room! In order to get it out, I must do a lot of clearing out. I enjoyed the simplicity of hanging the little squares of red fabrics on a rope of cotton, very festive! Perfect for a little room in back of the house we put up for a hot tub which needs fixing! Love to you, Kate!
When I retire I want to celebrate creativity like Kate does!
What is a Polly tunnel? I love, love joining you in your wonderful old home that has so many fascinating things to see. Thank you for always sharing with us and just being you.
Greenhouse.
It's a green house made of steel and covered with polyethylene : polytunnel . In Italian we call it '' serra '', greenhouse.
I spend a lot of time Googling to translate some of the words I don't understand , and checking the spelling :)
Thank you so very much for sharing the quiet beauty of your life. You’ve blessed me today, just as you have many times in the past. Orlando, Florida USA
You have a gentle spirit and way to spread peace. I love your childlike approach to enjoying the moment. Imagine and live in peace.
What I wouldn’t give to come to the last homely house and just follow you around! Thank you, Kate, for sharing your life with us!
Oh Kate, you are such a joy. I love your bit of bunting in the poly-tunnel. And the beaded wires are so pretty!!
Thank you for this so relaxing day with you.
Cheers
P.S. love you cup and saucer and the teapot warmer.
Blessings
So nice and warm watching your videos. Brings back happy warm memories with my grandparents. Very relaxing.
I've only just recently found your channel and I absolutely love your videos. Honestly each time I watch and listen to you I feel myself feel calmer and my sense of joy battery recharges beautifully. Thank you for sharing yourself, your passion and gifts with me. You really are a treasure.
Leader and ender idea is genius.
Thank you!!! xxx
I really enjoy these “snippets of my day” videos! Always nice to see what you’ve got going on😊
You need to leave the ender under on the machine until you sew again. Then it becomes a leader.
Happy weekend
what a lovely relaxing look into your life Kate, usually watch on a Monday morning with my early morning cuppa. You are looking so much better Kate and seem to be back to your old wonderful self. Your poly-tunnel is looking green and healthy with all your seedlings, can't wait to see everything growing in the garden. Take care.
What a wonderful video! I so enjoy watching you then getting on with my creations. You are so inspirational. Thank you.
Thank you for once again sharing your lovely home and surroundings with us. You live in a treasure trove! I just love it!
What a wonderful wonderful idea for leaders and enders! I am definitely use this idea.
Thank you Kate. You are a wealth of useful knowledge.
