    Thanks Andrea, great video as always. I've modified some settings on my camera and took it out tonight for a walk about shoot as I become familiar with how it works. The muscle memory thing is really great advice I think. I'm becoming more familiar with how to make it do what I want - and discovered new "issues" that I need to research now as well. That is all great learning. Thanks for the advice, it is well appreciated. 👍

    Andrea, very informative video, thank you! Do you adjust any settings in the Q menu, such as highlight or shadow tones, sharpness, noise reduction, etc or do you leave this for post-processing by adjusting the curve?

    • @AndreaLivieriPhoto
      @AndreaLivieriPhoto  2 года назад +1

      Hi John, glad you found the video useful. Thank you! As an in-camera profile, I use the PRO Neg.Std with Shadow & Highlight tones both at -2. I keep sharpness, noise, etc... at the default value since they don't affect the representation of the image's dynamic range on the camera display. Ciao

      @@AndreaLivieriPhoto I have XT4 camera bought 3 months ago still learning how to make settings. This video is like an oasis in a desert. I like your videos fully with content and most appropriate and practical to the users. Thanks again. I have kit lens and 10-24 mm new lens. Which other lens I have to buy for landscapes. Please advise. Thanks.

      Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it! Okay, the X-T4 + 10-24 is a great combo (actually is quite awesome, ahah). You might add a zoom telephoto lens to your kit. You have plenty of choices, but I think the best options are the 55-200, the 70-300, or the 50-140. It really depends on the weight you want to carry and the focal range. If you like lightweight lenses, I would stick with the 55-200 or 70-300. The 50-140 is an amazing lens but the focal range is narrower and it weighs more! For an in-depth comparison I have a couple of videos here on the channel about the 50-140 and the 70-300. Ciao :)

    Hi Andrea, I follow your great content with interest. XT4 is really a great body. For macro photography, do you think there is a need to change it if we compare it with a full frame body? This question also applies to Landscape. Thank you. Thank you very much.

    • @AndreaLivieriPhoto
      @AndreaLivieriPhoto  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks so much for the comment, and I'm glad you enjoyed my videos. The sensor size doesn't really make a difference if you don't plan to print your work larger than A2 (sometimes A1). In that case, the performance you can get out of a camera like the X-T4 is more than enough to create stunning images. I think innovation in landscape photography and cameras has been minimal over the last 10 years. Some full-frame cameras, though, can make a big difference in terms of AF performance if you're into the world of sports, action, or wildlife photography.

    • @seyirvarseyiricinde
      @seyirvarseyiricinde 8 месяцев назад

      As a result of your comments, I understand that it is not necessary to switch to a full frame body in terms of image quality :) I have been thinking about this change for a long time, thank you very much. Continue with X-T4 :)@@AndreaLivieriPhoto

    Andrea, I’m struggling with focus on my landscape work. I’m using the 16-80mm lens that came as a bundle with the camera. On wide angle, 16mm, my mountains look blurry when I zoom in during post processing. What is a realistic expectation for image focus? I’m happy to share an image to show you what I mean. Thank you!

    • @AndreaLivieriPhoto
      @AndreaLivieriPhoto  6 месяцев назад

      The blurriness in your pictures could be due to a few things. Stuff like how wide your lens is set, the settings on your camera, and how you're processing the photos all play a role. If you can share a photo with me, I'll take a quick look to see if I can give you some tips. Ciao

      I had a look at the images you sent me in. Both the jpeg and the raw show a substantial amount of softness on the corners. I've never tried the that lens with the X-T5, so I'm not actually sure how good it is on handling the 40mp resolution. What I can say is that performance doesn't seem to be as good as expected. From what I learned trying that lens model with some of my clients, I've noticed that the image quality is not very consistent. This inconsistency could be attributed to a quality issue from the camera manufacturer, but honestly, I don't know.
      Regarding the focal range, the 16-80mm lens is beautiful, but after using it for a while, I decided to stick with the 16-55mm. Although it has a shorter focal range, the sharpness is much more consistent throughout the entire zoom range. I think there is nothing you can do about those soft corners except trying another unit of the same model or switching to a different lens. I hope this helps.

    Thanks, it's interesting to compare my own settings to someone's else. Are you sure that the DR setting don't effects RAW files? I've seen few videos and articles claiming it actually does...

    • @AndreaLivieriPhoto
      @AndreaLivieriPhoto  2 года назад +1

      Hi, thanks so much for the comment, glad you enjoyed the video. About the DR, it doesn’t affect the raw file. I would avoid changing that setting for shooting raw since it can trick the correct histogram representation. For what I know, in the past I found just Capture One reading the DR attribute recorded with RAW and applying it to the RAW file, and that’s actually not a good thing. Anyway, if you don’t shoot jpeg, don’t mess up with the DR and keep it at the default value of 100 :) Ciao
