My X-T4 will be delivered this morning, your timing couldn't have been better. Thanks!
As with your other videos I’ve seen, this is very helpful. Really appreciate the time, effort, thought you’ve put into these (and in helping others out) ! Also appreciate the good organization with your links and info. (Thank you!)
Just got my xt4 and this helped me soooo much with setting it all up. Thank you my man!
What an awesome video! Thank you! I've been using kind of my own customization of the menus of this camera but definitely gonna try out many of the ways you set things up.
Thank you again 🙏
Out of all the videos I’ve watched yours is the most instructive and useful.
I just picked up an X-T4 and will be giving this video a thorough watch when I get some time to play with it. Recently discovered your channel. Love the content! Your walks bring memories of a 2019 trip to London and Edinburgh flooding back!
Thanks for the great setup guide! Got my XT4 not too long ago and this has helped immensely! Now I just need to go out and take some photos!
Great work - just got mine and this has helped a lot.Showed me some stuff I had no clue about. Thanks!
Just upgraded from X-T2 to X-T4. I wish I had gone through something like this with the X-T2. Very useful and will help me greatly in the field. So much to learn.
it's my first fuji coming from Sony and this helps me a lot. thank you. you got a new subs.
Top man! Thanks for all your hard work its deeply appreciated.
Fine work and many thanks for sharing your setup as well as the reasoning behind the options you've selected. The amount of customisation is incredible compared to my old EOS 5D. Looks like tomorrow will be a day of street photography for me as I play around with this camera. Thanks again :-)
I just re-watched this video. It's so good! Thank you so much!
Enjoy your video very much. This is one of the best videos I have ever watched over the years Oh and setting up a camera and That saying a hell of a lot.
Very very helpful video!
After playing with the setting on my new camera remembered that watched this video and start watching it again but this time with X-T4 in the hands.
Thanks, and keep it going.
Roman, Thanks so much for the video. I just got an XT4. My first new camera, other than an iPhone in years. I think I’ll give your set up a roll and see how it goes. Such a detailed video. Lots of information. Best!
This is a lifesaver for a new X-T4 user, thanks mate!
Great video brother! Just got the X-T4 and this was very helpful! Thanks!
37 mins of very helpful magic. Thanks a lot man. Though i do have your voice in my head whenever i need to change something. Unsettling :-)
Thank you for being a much more enjoyable x-s10 manual 👍🏼
First. Let me get my popcorn ready. Hoping to order my XT4 soon so I cam start making videos again
Great video, man! I love how you explained the reasoning for your focus-button assignments.
Nice tutorial Roman, I actually got some good pointers that I can use on my X-T2’s settings.
Very detailed and useful information here, thanks for sharing!
Mr Fox. Thankyou very much for this comprehensive explanation of fuji settings!! I was unaware how to use some of them and I was rubbish at using my X-T20 because of that... I didn't read the manual, admittedly, but I still say Fuji asks you to learn through trial and error on a lot of settings especially if youre a noob like me. I like your auto ISO settings and had previously given up on Auto because i didn't trust it. I also hadn't tried turning off IBIS on a lens in decent conditions. I only wish i had the new Q menu... I was also going nuts with backbutton focus vs shutter release and youve set me straight. Thanks again. Alex
Just got my XT4. This video is very useful. Thanks!
I am setup challenged and you were very helpful and clear in helping me with my new camera. Thanks much.
Fantastic video, thanks for this!
Thank you for this video, very helpful!
This is a really useful video, thanks man. Will definitely use it and then adapt from there. Keep up the good work.
@@snapsbyfox PS. I also bought a couple of those buttons on your recommendation, I hope you get commission.
Watched this about 3 times now... Great work mate 👊 so helpful for a noob to cameras like me 😂
Movie Optimized is really important because if you flip from PHOTO to Video the video will grab all the settings from the physical dials. If you set it to optimized it will keep previous movie settings like 48fps etc. But you still get the two command dials to adjust shutter speed, aperture, ISO if you want (Which the XT3 didn't allow) So it's basically like a memory mode for video settings.
Execellent thanks. I have just followed your settings and now have to go and try it out. I still don't understand it all, but I guess a bit of practise willl help. I especially enjoy making videos
obrigada por se dispor a mostrar essas configurações! Parabéns... from Brasil
This Video Was A Great Help.
God bless ya for this video man :) helped a lot :D
thanks for sharing this handy tips, great work.
awesome video bro, thank you soo much!
Great video thanks for sharing the info 👍🙏
super helpful man thank you!!!!
Best tutorial ! Thanks
Mine just came in Wednesday. Coming from an M50, just taking some time feeling it out and learning about the new ecosystem. Appreciate this video.
Haha. I bought my Canon M50 and when I was looking into cameras some more I have also bought an X-T4, which I really couldn't afford. But the video and images I was seeing from it were stunning. Now I just need to put it to work and try to produce some "cinematic" footage. Have a noce day pall, God bless.
Thanks so much for the video!
This sounds like a good way to go with settings, I just got my hands on a XT4 who is my first real digital camera since 2009 and shooting film for all these years. I still dont understand why photographers need all these setting but fair enough haha Anyways interesting video. I got a lot to catch up on and this has definitely saved me some time!
super super useful! thank you so much!
Great video. Really helpful...
Thanks, this will be a great help
Great job thank you!
Still come back and watch this! Thanks!
I have XT-3, but still enjoyed this vdo. These are useful settings for my XT-3 too. 👍🏻
I went and got an XT 4, just had to have a try with one. So, here we go, I’ll copy your settings tonight and tomorrow start playing with it.
Made it much easier to setup my x-t4.Thanks.
Great Video
Super helpful! THX!!!!
Great guide
thanks a lot mate!
Cheers man!
Don't forget that some are new owners like me, so the X T4 is my first Fuji camera, thank you
Well done sir!
Roman, thanks for this vid - I've watched it several times and appreciate that you explain why you choose certain settings. Any chance of the PDF coming soon?? That would be so very cool.
I would really like if you would make an updated version of the above video, This time, based on your latest knowledge of modern focusing found on the X-H2s - I wanted to also say thanks so much for your excellent videos. Really enjoy watching them.
This was an incredible guide and walkthrough the camera settings, thank you so much, Roman!
Just a tip from me for your video: In your description, add: Intro: 00:00 - it will then create chapters for the video, so that people can flick through on their mobile/desktop. Without the initial 00:00, RUclips doesn't create chapters (at least not from my experience haha!)
@@snapsbyfox haha no worries mate, keep up the great work
Great work.
Answered questions, that the manual makes no mention of.
Getting the XT4 this thursday, this is very helpful! Thanks! I rented this weekend the XT3 and I was fascinated by it. EyeAF is very good and the 56mm is a total different lense on it, barely no hunting. How do you find sharpness with IBIS on non-OIS lenses at normal shuter speeds?
Well done.
This has been so useful, thank you so much. My X-T4 arrived today and I’m new to Fiji cameras so this has been a godsend. Keep up the great work.
You should also check Michael the maven tutorial on the XT-4. Almost 2 hrs free.
This is THE most useful photography video I've ever discovered! Thank you so much!!
Man I just got my new X-T4 and your video was so helpful! Thank you so much! I am really excited about upcoming videos in your channel! :)
Awesome video Roman! My X-T4 is in the post and this is so helpful. Interesting with your auto SS being 1/100 - what range would you try for a bit of movement blur in busy street photos without camera shake?
Fantastic Video Roman! I've learnt a lot, and ventured out of the settings the camera was set to, as I continue to learn how to set it up for my style of photography. - Did you ever eventually change your ISO "Auto" settings based on now having IBIS in the X-T4 vs the settings you had in your X-T3? Do you have a video on those yet? - Thanks again!
hmmm not really... I just checked and mine is at min 1/200... even with ibis, id rather not run the risk if the light is good enough... low light is a different story
In order for those Auto ISO presets to work properly, you need to make sure ISO Dial Setting is set on Auto (you can get there by going to Menu>wrench symbol>Button/Dial Setting (A)>Auto). This was tripping me up today.
Thanks!
Cheers!!
Just missed the fedex delivery of my x-t4! I’ll be back to watch this tonight after I drive to the shipping center.
Lol! Almost did the same thing... was about to hit the porcelain throne when my doorbell rang.
DomRod that happened to me last year when I went to cuba. Missed the delivery of my A7III rental. Was literally at home, but the guy barely knocked.
Thanks for tips on your settings, how do you get the microphone to display on the screen. Thanks.
Nice job on the video. Two questions. First, what temperature did you use for your video WB? I saw you set it to Kelvin, but you did not show the setting. Second, have you considered a video on your shooting and video techniques? I notice you use the monitor for most of your photo shots. I learned to shoot with the viewfinder, but your methods looks a lot more efficient. I would like to get some pointers on how to do it well. Thanks.
Hi. The Q menu for both photography and video can set up to 16 settings with a minimum of 4 settings. Anyway, on the X-T2 and X-H1 you can change the metering from the joystick controller. Can't seem to do it on the X-T4 though.
It's ridiculous how well you can set these up
For us new to video what do you do with white balance, and what shutter speed do you use for the different frame rates?
OMG !! Is there a button or a dial to add a 1000 likes to your video ? Thanks a million times man ! This is relevant thinking and instructive as i just switched to the xt-4, Thanks again and keep up the great work !
Thanks for this, Roman. Can you give advice on the high ISO Noise Reduction setting?
@@snapsbyfox Oh sorry, I meant the in-camera setting "ISO NR". I have it turned all the way down fwiw.
Have you encountered a focus problem with XT4? It's like a focus shift back and forth between ears and mouth, and can be more serious with tele lens
I'm happy with my xt2. I just really want that 16-55
Great work, I’ ve just discovered your channel and I’m looking all your video. Just a simple question: I’m new in the photo world and I just start making photo with a second hand and very cheep canon but now I want to pass to a Fuji. In your opinion, to start to experiment with a mirrorless in a constant travel/ hiking mode ( I use to live in a van most of the year ) is the Xt 30 with a 35mm f2 a good combo? Ps I don’t have a lot of money and I’ ll buy everything secondhand. Thanks for your time and thanks for the work you put in this channel.
@@snapsbyfox thank you man.
Would love to see your custom settings for jpeg
Knowing how to move the focus point straight back to the middle has saved me a lot of fiddling about
Hi, friend! I have a question, would you help me please? to be able to focus automatically do I have to have a lens that has the automatic focus? or simply with any lens that does not have that option and with the corresponding configuration could it be? thanks!
Hey Roman ... is the focus point size adjustable in Video mode. I know I can’t change this on the xt3
Ciao Roman !! :)
Do you usually use a glass screen protector? Could you suggest to me one for the XT4 if you know it!
thank you!!
@@snapsbyfox thank you Roman!!
Hey Roman, nice review... I just got my xt4 but it seems that the front dial will not work with exposure adjustments. I think I'm missing something here?.. what else I should consider for front dial to work well with SS and exposure compensation, pls? I set ISO - on C mode, SS - on T mode, Lens - F manual [should be on A?].
@@snapsbyfox Thank you Roman, yes the exposure is on C, assuming the lens should be on A [not manual focus]?
why is it that with the iso auto settings i put it on say auto 1 and the iso isnt going up or down nomatter the light
single pressing into the focus point selector joystick (by making it smaller or bigger) i was able to switch between focus types, did you try it ?
You need to select the "ALL" autofocus mode. Its very convenient!
I got this camera yesterday and super excited to go all out using it. I got it with the XF 16-80mm f/4 R OIS WR Lens. I wonder if I should've gotten the XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS Lens instead? What do you folks think?
@@snapsbyfox Thanks for the tip and extremely helpful advice!
Hey Roman, thanks for sharing.i have some problem...so i start shoot video and its all grainy...all footage from my xt3 i try different settings for video, reset camera few times but still the same .what do you think maybe sensor have some issue..coz my old panasonic fz 330 shot video very well ,but fuji 🤦♂️.its like noise on video everywhere looks like very low quality video, but colors are great
Roman Fox thank a lot🔥👍
just received my xt4 and 16-80 lens how do you turn the image stabiliza
tion on and off on the lens
Hi, Roman, I have a question. Under what circumstance/setting the small square in the EVF will move up and down AND left and right? I set my XT4 in Single Shot mode, Face and Eye detection is disabled. I tried to focus by auto focus. However, the small square in the frame kept moving until I half pressed the shutter. This happened even I tried to focus in Manual Mode. Do you have any idea? This annoyed me very much. Please help.
Did you drill a new hole into the Peak Design plate to make it sit in the middle of the camera? Mine sticks out towards the backside and I thought about adding a new hole... Thanks!
Roman Fox strange, bought mine a month ago... who knows. Gonna drill a new hole tomorrow 😉
With the XT4 IBIS feature would you leave the OIS on or off?
With the new XT4, would you recommend purchasing it with the 16-80 or the 18-55?!
Roman Fox thank you!
Would be brilliant if you would share your settings backup file so we can quickly copy your settings?
I wish you have a book that I could buy. So I could learn and understand more.
