To all the new Ff XT4 owners out there THIS VIDEO is where you start! What a gifted teacher you are Michael, I feel like I just won the learning lotto jackpot, excellent instruction and content! Thank you so much for putting this video out to everyone Michael, you’ve got a new fan!
What an amazing tutorial. I cant believe i get this for free - i was worried buying an xt4 for my first camera would mean i had something out of date and missing features but the camera is incredible and theres amazing content like this, out there for me to learn from. Thank you
This video popped up in my feed for a few weeks and I’m like ‘2hrs, nope’. Well, I’m an idiot. This video is just insane in how comprehensive it is. I don’t know how many takes it took, but you nailed every section. Thank you for putting out such quality, informative content for free - very very cool, and I will certainly be looking up your crash course as a next step.
The XT-4 is my first profesional camera and also my first Fujifilm. I've read the manual and tried different configurations but since I got the camera like two weeks ago there's still a lot to try and set to get to find out what works best for my personal way of using it. I think it is so generous of you to share this video and the amount of work there's into it. Forever thankful! 🙏
In college, I had this one teacher with decades of experience and knowledge. For the first half of the year, I flew through all of the material from his teaching style, which pretty much cut the time wasting, threw out the textbook and got to the point . Then, suddenly we got a green first year teacher fresh out of university. I went from flying colors to instantly bombing the course because the only way she knew how to teach was to do everything by the book with no context. I've been watching RUclips tutorials for over a decade and you're one of the best teachers I've seen. This video is very well put together and clear, and it's very apparent you have a lot of experience dealing with people raising common questions and issues. Thank you for spending your time creating this helpful resource. It saved me a lot of reading and having to figure out the manual.
Wow, thank you for noticing! I taught freshman biology at the university of Alabama for 7 years. I experimented a lot and found out what worked, then applied it to photography when I made the Jump. Now I treat these videos as an audition for my new students- if I’m good they will trust me to teach them more. Thanks again for the nice comment & best wishes!
I don't think I've ever commented on a RUclips video before. But I'm about half way through this video and needed to comment, just saying that you are an absolute beast for putting this all together. I have learned so much. In 2-3 hours, I've learned more than I probably would have in months of tinkering with the camera myself. Thank you so much.
Michael, i was trying to think of how many times I've watched this. Today is probably the 3rd or 4th time. I'm not a professional but photography is my love and i wish i could find a way to change careers. Anyway, after quite a while of limited use with my xt4 i find this video of yours a great way to refresh my memory and make sure I'm setting function buttons in the best way for me as well as just reminding me of where items are in the menus. I can't thank you enough for this. It's absolutely the best guide for the xt4 on RUclips. Making this freely available was an amazing choice and you have my utmost respect. Thank you again for this and i wish you all the best sir.
I’ve just upgraded to the XT4 from the XT2. Both great cameras. This is by far one of the best instructional Videos I have come across. Thank you very much.
Received the X-T4 on Friday. I watched this entire video last night and followed along. After watching this I felt a bit of relief and thankful that people like you are online. I also felt more confident today when I took it for a spin around Georgetown, and other areas around DC. Then I purchased your crash course. I like the way you cover your material without assuming that I know anything about my camera. Well don!
Best guide ever! Just bought my XT-4 and have been watching tons of video's before and after buying the camera about tripod's, lenses, setup's etcetera. I could have just watch your video😂 Would have saved me hours and hours.
Michael, Thank You so much for putting all this information together. You have done tremendous work, and you have helped many people out here to get better with their Fujifilm XT-4.
This is the first camera I've bought on my own and your tutorial is so incredibly helpful. I took a photography class at college last fall and learned a lot with the canon I was renting but had my heart set on a fuji. I'm capable of getting good pictures and I understand the basics but I'm by no means a professional and have a long way to go so as you can imagine I was pretty overwhelmed but excited after unboxing my t4. This video is so helpful and I feel like I can have fun and use my camera to its full potential! Thank you so much. Amazing video and truly grateful for the help.
This is the best Tutorial I have seen. I have just upgraded from X-T2 to X-T4 mostly because I like videography and you have really put in a lot of time and effort to explain the X-T4 clearly. I live in South Africa and here we use PAL so I had to adjust my settings which I will now go and test out and trust that it will be compatible with PowerDirector video software that I use. Thanks very much Michael.
Brilliant. I have just purchased the XT4 body with a 16-80 OISWR. I blindly stumbled upon your excellent production in the hope of finding (at most) a short familiarisation video but instead found this 2 plus hour production that is easy to watch and understand. As a you tube producer, I appreciate the time you would have put into creating this video and want to say a massive thank you. Subscribed, liked, all of that. again, thankyou!
I have been a Canon shooter for quite a long time. After a lot of research and careful thought I bought my X-T4 yesterday and have been exploring the functions. Michael, your video has been invaluable. And the menu breaking down each section is particularly useful. So every time I think 'how do I do that', which is very often, there are the answers, all laid out in a logical sequence. Great. I'm just starting to appreciate the power that all the customisation allows. Moving to a new system is a bit of a leap of faith and now I'm confident I have made the right decision. Thanks greatly.
I just bought the crash course and I wanna say I watched it all in 2 days.I highly enjoyed it and its a perfect start for anyone starting with an xt-4. Although it is a lot of camera for a beginner I am much less afraid of it . Thank you for your paid courses and your free courses. I dont have a Facebook to join your Facebook group ,but I certainly would join! Thank you and good job.

Michael you're an angel! Thank you for this amazing content. I have this camera for a while but I'm not a professional and was lost about a few things, and now I feel like I can just go out and practice without embarrassing myself because I have all information I need. I'll also buy your lessons when I have a chance because if all this is what you have to offer for FREE, I believe I will be ready to be a professional after your Crash Course! 😁
Wow. This has to be the best course I've seen on understanding a camera. I stumbled on this because I wanted more detail on the X-T4. I think you've converted me to really wanting this camera. Originally I was set on the A7C. But to be honest that thing is a confusing mess. Knobs. Simple knobs. How easy.
This is without a doubt the best tutorial on the T4 that I have found. I appreciate the time and detail you shared with the community. I am proudly a subscriber and rang the bell too. Looking forward to reviewing other videos you have compiled. Thanks again and your efforts are greatly appreciated.
@@thyerriwolf Hi! Yes, overall its better than I expected, its my first camera, so I was surprised with video quality and sound which it records. Downside is that my pc handles 8bit in editing no problem but 10 bit is too much and you cant really work with it. But bigest disapointment is that you cant create custom profiles for video recording, for example one with 24 frames/s, shutter speed 48, other 60 frames and shutter speed according, third slo motion and etc. You have to select each value every time, and that takes away from enjoyable experience. Thats the only negative I have on it. Ibis and 18-55 is great and stable, photography wise I dont have any other camera experience, so my impresions with this one is great haha
@@audriusa7005 amazing, nice to know that is a good camera, I think for a dieta camera it is fantastic, I'll learn a lot and improve my skills, it will be a nice experience, thanks you, best wishes!!!
You are an excellent presenter! Fantastic tutorial about the camera as well as exposure basics. Coming from a film camera background (30 year professional, mostly medium format, always manual exposure), this has helped me understand how this camera functions. I will probably never use any of the auto modes, however, there is so much else going on with this camera and you have really helped me learn all the buttons, settings, histogram viewing, white balance setting and more. Thank you.
I think you've earned people investing into your crash course. If it's anything helpful like this video was, it will be worth every penny. I know I will be signing up shortly! Thanks a million.
As a singer/songwriter that doesn't want to rely on unreliable photographers/filmmakers, I'm now able to comprehend my X-T4 so much better now. Love the way you explain this camera, your positive feed back is well deserved and I'm a beginner to cameras in general so......well done to having a clueless one like my self feel like I know what I'm doing now. Thank you again 🙏🏽 lol
This video was super duper helpful! I’m switching over from Canon and this video was extremely in-depth. I learned so much I wouldn’t have known if I hadn’t come to you channel. Thank you so much 🙏🏾
What a hero you are! I've been shooting Fuji for several years and still learned something. Especially when trying to incorporate video shooting (thus upgrading from my X-T2 and X-T30 to the X-T4). I'll be using your link to purchase that Maven mic. As a long time Fuji shooter, I would suggest the 18-55 and the 55-200 as the perfect one two travel set up (the 50-140 is just too big for travel). I always bring these two lenses and the 56 f1.2 when I travel. When I'm doing landscape/wildlife, I bring the 16mm f1.4, 35 f2, and the 100-400 instead. I've owned a lot of the fuji lenses and these six are my full kit now.
The best tutorial I have seen. Everything I need is here in this video. I am a former Navy Photographer and my go-to for years was the Nikon D300S. I have been watching youtube videos to help make my decision on upgrading. Fuji has the most features and reviews I've seen. I see that this video is 1 year old. I am having trouble getting the front command dial to display all three items (Aperture, Exposure Compensation, ISO. I have all the settings correct but when I'm looking through the viewfinder, I only see ISO on the screen and if I push the button in I can change the iso, but cannot figure out how to change the aperture? Has a firmware update happened to fix this or am I doing something wrong? I just got my system 4 days ago (XT-4) Not sure what I am doing wrong. In your video, I see you are able to show all 3 items on the screen. My screen only shows 1?
This is very informative and helpful. I'm actually a X-T20 owner and upgrading to the X-T4, but still watched the whole video and picked up several reminders that also apply to the X-T20 and, of course, many other X cameras. Thanks again, I am subscribed now.
Thanks for putting this video together. I start to read the manual and within a few minutes I am dozing off! I will refer to the video often and having the contents table for quick reference is great.
Just had to pause this, part way in, as I want to say that I can already see how useful this is going to be to me - and to thank you so much for taking the time to do this amazing tutorial. I have been using an XT-2 since 2019 (paired with the 100-400mm lens), and am part exchanging that camera now for the XT-4. So I am familiar with a lot of it, but to see and hear it demonstrated all in one video, rather than try and understand the manual or watching bits and pieces on various other You Tube channels, is just the ticket. I am looking forward to learning about the pre shot option which I have only just discovered the XT-4 has. I had been thinking of changing to another brand simply to get that, before I found that the XT-4 has it. I loved my XT-2 but it's time to move on, and I hope I shall love the XT-4 just as much! Thank you again.
Thank you just received my xt4 and this was so helpful in getting me started. So much information to learn on new cameras. I will be purchasing your xt4 course when it becomes available.
I just wanted to say thank you so much for making this video. I bought this camera a year ago and pushed my way through making videos but I really want to get really good with this camera.
this was an AWESOME tutorial! thank you so much for making it - i'm not new to photography, but i'm new to fuji (formerly, canon) and found this to be a much better alternative to trying to follow along a user guide. definitely will be saving this for later to refer back to as i get more comfortable with my new camera. thank you!
Fantastic video. I'm still a little dizzy. Thanks so much. I will look into the crash course. I'm in the process of purchasing the X-T4 for wildlife and sports. The 100-400 looks like the best choice for now. Thank you again.
Michael, I managed to figure it out. All I needed to do was turn off the Large Indicators Mode for the EVF and the LCD. Something told me I needed to see if turning OFF those large indicators would affect what is displayed on the screens, and it sure does.
wow! how can I support you for this incredible work? i have been feeling lonely not knowing how to use it properly. You are my new friend and teacher. Thank you!
I just received my new x-t4 after being a Canon shooter and this video is a godsend, thank you!! I immediately realised I had no idea how to control the aperture etc 😂Thank you so much!
The quarantine stopped me from buying this camera, as I have to travel to do so, but this video was so amazing, that I still step in, and couldn't leave... thank you very much!
Amazing tutorial... Clear and easy to follow along with.... Will be re-watching this many times. It is said, that in order to see if you know your subject, try to teach it to another:- you certainly "know your stuff!!". Thank you for sharing your knowledge on the X-T4 😁👏
Thanks Michael for the good introduction to the camera system. This is my first serious camera that I bought with a lens XF16-80mm. I am already loving it. I dropped the much marketed Sony a7rIII for this.
Thanks so much for this, most informative. The X-T4 is my first Fuji and your guidance covered the questions I had and several I didn't know I had - it's a great help.
I just come to buy Fuji X-T4 and also Fuji16-55 mm f.2.8, thanks to blackfriday specially on the lens. Great job from Michael, thank you! I was needing to know more of Fuji system (X-T4) since I am new here. I keep my Sony system , and I had also Olympus but sold it. Not my style.
This video is a TREMENDOUS resource. Thank you for putting this online. I am interested in your crash course, but the price point for it is a little too high at this time.
Bless your heart Michael, no really, I mean that. I will get my first aps-c camera soon, and it's likely going to be the X-T4. Your content is reference material in making an informed purchase decision. Thank you for going the extra mile here, it makes a world of a difference for an aspiring enthusiast eager to learn photography on the right tool. I will consider your crash course as soon as I have the camera.

I had been thinking of changing to another brand simply to get that, before I found that the XT-4 has it. I loved my XT-2 but it's time to move on, and I hope I shall love the XT-4 just as much! Thank you again.
Your an absolute legend for putting this together bro
E daz gA. aa.
I love how you illustrate. Best college feeling class ever lol
Thank you just received my xt4 and this was so helpful in getting me started. So much information to learn on new cameras. I will be purchasing your xt4 course when it becomes available.
It’s available now: www.canontrainingvideo.com/downloads-c-9_16/fuji-xt3-xt4-crash-course-download-only-p-160.html?zenid=7u8m6qf1532u8ffikpukeontr3
I just wanted to say thank you so much for making this video. I bought this camera a year ago and pushed my way through making videos but I really want to get really good with this camera.
this was an AWESOME tutorial! thank you so much for making it - i'm not new to photography, but i'm new to fuji (formerly, canon) and found this to be a much better alternative to trying to follow along a user guide. definitely will be saving this for later to refer back to as i get more comfortable with my new camera. thank you!
Can this tutorial also be used for the X-T5?
This is the best comprehensive help video for the Fujifilm Xt-4. Thanks!
Thank you!
LIFE SAVER!! Thank you sir, I just switched over from Sony so this helps heaps 🙏🏽
I just switched over from Nikon ..
@@philiphoughphotography4061 and...do you like you switch?
do you like it more than the Sony? (wich Sony)
Just got a new xt4 and I’m new to Fuji, thank you so much for this!
Thank you.🙏🏼
Amazing tutorial... Clear and easy to follow along with.... Will be re-watching this many times. It is said, that in order to see if you know your subject, try to teach it to another:- you certainly "know your stuff!!". Thank you for sharing your knowledge on the X-T4 😁👏
I've just got my X-T4, unpacked and watched your video. Great job, thanks!!!
This is beyond amazing. Thanks a lot for putting this together. Really, thank you
Holy.... This is the best guide ever !
Thank you so much
Thank you Michael. You help me shorten my reading using the manual! Well done
Super informative, thorough, and easy to understand - this video is just what we needed to get started. Thank you!!!
This video is so well done. It's everything that I was looking for! Thank you for putting this together.
Hey thanks for doing this video. I just spent a very long time studying and watching it. I learned a lot.
I got my Fuji X-T4 three days ago. Coming from a Canon EOS 70D, I learned a lot from your tutorial. Thank you very much!
I bought my XT4 as my second camera but as the settings are different from my Sony camera, this tutorial helps me a lot, thanks a ton!
Thanks so much for this video!
Helped me get to grips with my first fuji camera after years of Canon and Sony.
Thanks Michael for the good introduction to the camera system. This is my first serious camera that I bought with a lens XF16-80mm. I am already loving it. I dropped the much marketed Sony a7rIII for this.
Thanks for these video, very clarifying. Can you make a similar video about the Fuji X-S10? That would be great.
That's amazing and elaborate and practical demonstration of all the features. Thank you for that.💐👏👏👏
Very much a beginner. Wonderful video! Excited to see Crash Course!

Thank you so much ! This is so useful ! I am really thankful that you took the time to do such a complete tutorial : this is real generosity !
