    I bought that exact black and red mixer several years back. I find that blade works so well when mixing lotions. Sadly, it was damaged in a move and when I went to get a new one... Out of stock. Checked for ages but never came back in stock. Heard someone else call it a Greek frappe mixer, so I looked that up. Nothing on Amazon but I did find it at a place in Cyprus of all places. With the international shipping, it was still fairly reasonably priced. What I didn't think about was the power cable differences
    Oops. Luckily the part of mine that was damaged was the actual blade spoke and not the machine itself. So just took the blade off the new one and put it on my old one, voila! Perfection! (when looking at it that way though, I paid waaaaaaaay too much for just a mixer attachment haha)

    Hello, i know this is an older video, so not sure if you'll see...in your video you said you can switch out oils and aloe juice for water? Unlike soaps...all these things can be switched out equally as long as the total amount is the same. I mean weight amount the same? Just for example...you could switch out olive for jojoba and not have to change the weight amount or persercitive amount?

    • @EllenRuthSoap
      @EllenRuthSoap  7 месяцев назад

      Yes, in lotions you can sub a liquid oil for another liquid, and a hard butter for another hard butter, and the measurements stay the same.

    I love this formula. I let it set overnight, and it looks like some oils are separating. I used a combo of argon, rice bran, and baobab oils. I also added. 5 grams of powdered vit c and .5 of moranga powder...it was covered but not bottled. I did notice the tiny bit I jarred for myself has not separated. I used murumuru butter. Could this be why it is separating?

    Hi Ellen I love your videos and your products are fabulous. I tried making this eye cream but substituted walnut oil for hemp seed oil and rosehip seed oil for camelia seed oil. Process went well, cream starting getting thicker and looked fab. I thought I would carry on whisking for another 2 minutes and suddenly the whole consistency changed back to liquid again. Was still fairly warm. Waited until cooled down and gave it another 10 mins whisking and it has remained as a milky liquid. How bizarre! What do you think went wrong? Is it the oils perhaps? Or maybe I didn't whisk fast enough and long enough. Please help!!

    Ellen, I’m hoping you can help. I have made this recipe for the very first time, but when I was adding the Optiphen, I was startled and added too much. It blobbed in and was about double the amount. Now the product is very runny. And it’s not hardening even in the fridge. I’m thinking you would suggest adding more mango butter? If so? Do you know approximately how much in grams? So sorry, hoping to save this batch.

    • @EllenRuthSoap

I did not warm up the previous batch so although allowed the cocoa butter to cool a bit, there was still a considerable gap between the two. So my end product is a bit grainy. That’s ok. It’s for me personally. And it melts the moment I begin massaging it into my skin. It turned out nicely even with the mistake. I very much appreciate your quick reply 💕

    If I wanted this to be a bit more thinner, would I need to add more water and reduce the e-wax? Would I also need to add more oil?

    • @EllenRuthSoap
      @EllenRuthSoap  Год назад +1

      I would start with the water & E-wax

      @@EllenRuthSoap Thank you. Does emulsifying too long make it thicker or does it not matter about that?

    I know this doesn't have anything to do with this current video. I followed your video on your dish soap. My first batch was like the stearic acid didn't mix well and appears to be all over the top of the soap. My second batch somehow separated (oils stayed on top)
    Any suggestions on what I could have done wrong?

      It sounds like you didn’t get a full emulsion.?

      @@EllenRuthSoap this was my first CP attempt so I am totally new. But thought the dish soap would have been the easiest. I absolutely love all your videos and you have inspired me to make CP soap

    love all your videos. I'm making soaps and creams and now I have people who want to purchase items from me. What do you do about insurance? I've had quotes to $1500 per year. I doubt I'd be selling that much. Any leads you can send my way would be much appreciated!
