i was making an eye cream , but I just made a few adjustments, hehe. Love the chamomile addition so I'm gonna do that as well. I'm adding rosehip oil for the vitamin A content, and the lycopenes. the eye cream I am making is also for dry itchy lids. so im not fully sure what the name of the product is going to be quite yet but either way i feel like it's going to be that much better having seen this.
those little eye creams you made are so pro and look it too! again, nicely done. i hope soon to crank out product like yours. thanks for sharing.

I do I might be inspired by another SOAPERS recipe, but I do my own research and always use my own, plus here's the thing undereye cream great ingredients, it's the 2nd thinnest skin other than our eye lids for anti-aging., no one has the same skin type or reacts the same, so I ALWAYS love her and her formulations because she thinks about that whilst making her formulas. If I am inspired by someone's recipe not copied, I usually add my own flare to my own, but, yeah always mention that company or Soap Artisan on my channel..i love how she says Cammomile.. Xoxo much RESPECT!! I love Australian Accents. I USE A Broad Spectrum Even in my body BUTTERS. But ACV, OR WHEY IS A NATURAL PRESERVATIVE OR TYME INFUSED OIL IS A GREAT NATURAL PRESERVATIVE. You picked right 😊 I was born in England and lived there for 9 years before my parents moved us to Australia 😊 The English accent comes out after talking to English family and friends or if I'm really tired or excited

Im assuming your accent is coming out due to excitement over these gorgeous eye cream pots . Im astounded at your skill. I never knew you could make moisturiser from scratch. I assumed it was only something that could be made in factories using a whole heap of nasty chemicals!
@@wanderingchook1193 It's funny how some lose the accent all together and some never do. I know people who have lived in Australia for decades and you'd never know as their accent is so strong.
I stumbled across lotion making by searching kits on a suppliers and decided to try. I love the process of it 😊

Thank you. At this stage I am not running classes but I do have plans in 2022 to do them from my shop
just re-watching this...and really like that you cover your water while heating it so you don't lose any through evaporation. this is why i watch/re-watch videos like this! great example. and see, this is why it's not absolutely necessary to share the exact amounts in your formulation. it is after all YOUR formulation. and surely you would have no problem sharing it. But a true DIY'er or business person will learn how critical it is to be able make your formula to 100%. If one watches closely, you learn all you need to make a great product of your own.
My eye cream is going to be that much better, and not because I can copy your recipe but rather enhance my own with great examples and ideas from another DIY'er who gets it. well done missy.

Hi, the only ones I really know of is veg emulsion or Olivem 1000. A lot of the others are natural but with some synthetic

Hi ma’am what was used for emulsification please
I use a vegetable emulsifier but you can use any emulsifier like polar wax etc. Just keep in mind some are thicker than than others so you may need to adjust the amount used

I was just wondering did you have your logo made prior to using, I think you mentioned 'Corell draw' to print your labels? I'm from Australia and currently I'm using Vistaprint for my product labels and Avery labels for my cigar labels for my soaps. Between them both I have two sets of fonts and I'm looking for a more cohesive approach to my brand.

Can I ask what kind of scale the big one is, please?
Wonderful video, btw! I personally prefer an oil serum applied with a roller ball bottle for my under eye area because I've been too nervous to test lotions in such a sensitive area. However, you ingredients sound luscious, so I may try to make a cream after all!
The big scales I get from Ebay. I usually just search for electronic digital scales. They don't have a brand name sorry.
I've tried oil serums but have personally found the lotions to be easier to apply.
Hi thanks alot just a question for33%oil its enght to use 10%wax?
The amount of wax/emulsifier needed is determined by so many things. How much water you have, the viscosity you are after, the type of oils/butters you're using and the type of wax/emulsifier you're using. The guidelines I was give was when I first started was between 5 & 12%.
I use 33%oils and 60%water and 10% glycerin
Always my cream is greasy i want it wont be greasy

@@shkafs2555 I would say your oil content is way too high. You need to look at reducing them and increasing water
Great video. One question. Do you let the oil n water phase sit on fire ( in a brain Marie) for 20 mins.... just melting the wax is not enough which takes hardly 5 minutes? Please advice
I will generally put my water in the bain marie and let come up to the correct temperature. I then put my oils in the water bath and they generally take the 20 minutes hold to melt and come up to the same temperature. It might only take 5 min to melt them but if they are not within a similar temperature range, it is difficult to get them to emulsify and keep it stable. This method works for me, though others say they don't need to heat and hold.

Coconut oil is rated at 4 but I'm using Fractionated coconut oil which is at a 2 and easily absorbed into the skin

Back when I started soaping 19+ years ago, it wasn't easy to find information like today, which I'm glad as it taught me the properties of the oils and their recommended % of use, which really came in handy when making my creams and lotions. I think I love more experimenting with lotions and creams the best. EO's stay true and beautiful. So do you have a still that you use to make your lavender hydrosol? I'm looking into several stills right now.
In many ways we are lucky at how many tools are out there for creating products but has stopped the learning process. I like to know how and why things work so I'm always researching which makes it easier to formulate your own unique formulas.

It's a rather long story but I got into it by finding a kit. I was making candles and lip balms as a hobby and my Grandad found out. He told me my Great Great Grandmother used to make paraffin candles when he was a child and it would be great to someone else in the family did to and I should start selling. He passed away two weeks later and I decided to honour him by doing as he suggested. I started with candles and slowly added bath and body. I got into soaps after watching a few other channels and got curious and wanted to try myself. I found they are my creating outlet.
Soy and Shea that is a lovely story. I bet your great great grandmother in spirit ( New Zealand?) has been helping you along too. Thank you for sharing. I started out making soy candles too then i made bath bombs and solid lotion bars ....then got over being a scaredy cat and made soap. Now i mostly make soap..... just a little, not wanting a big business. I love your studio set up and I can see just how much work you have put into your business. The computer stuff for me is a no no. I cant do the labels etc. i think you are amazing,

Is phenoxyethanol a good preservative to use in water based products?I am looking for a low toxic preservative that works well. I have bought it and I was wondering if you could give me feedback before I use it in my products
The preservatives that are available to buy like optiphen, liquid germall etc are made of several ingredients to ensure they have great protection as no one ingredient it usually enough. I like to use Nipaguard as this has been certified for use in natural products. I see that phenoxyethanol is usually an ingredient used in these broad spectrum blends. I absolutely love your videos and the way you describe what u do, but I have to tell you that heating evening primrose oil it absolutely kills all it's property. It's a very good oil but extremely unstable, it oxiduses very fast so heating is not good, if I can say, you can add it in the cool down phase. From the top of my head now, I'm not sure about squalane, I study it some time ago but didn't actually use it, it might be the same as evening primrose.
Thank you for your advise. I have personally found that adding vegetable/plant oils in the cool down phase poses problems with my emulsion as I use a heat emulsion method. I find adding oils later breaks the emulsion and the "free" oil goes rancid.
@@SoyandShea I know what you say, it can happen, as a rule of thumb the cool down phase should be kept at 10% and lower

Thank you. I finished high school and then went on to university and have a Bachelor in Business majoring in hospitality and events management. I always wanted to work for myself but thought it would be having my own coffee shop or even bakery.

Thank you. We do have international postage and are continuing to find ways of reducing the shipping cost but sadly we don't have too many options here in Australia. I love to crotchet in our cooler months but have never thought of different materials you could incorporate.
