    I just made it and love it! My oil blend was hemp seed oil, sweet almond oil and apricot. The FO I used is Oatmeal, Milk & Honey from Fragrance Buddy & 1 tsp 24k gold mica from Natures Garden. I poured my mix into a large pyrex glass measuring jug which made filling my jars easy. Thank you!

    my teen daughter was like “why would you make that?” I had her try it on her hands and five minutes later, she comes back and says “ummm…. I’m going to shower, can I have some more of that scrub?” Now she gets impatient if she runs out and I don’t have any on hand. 😂❤

    I use a whisk to add the oils/EO-FO/Preservative to the sugar first - to moisten it without having to worry about the waxes thickening and clumping it. Then I add the melted butters and waxes and whisk again and it doesn't clump. A canning funnel with a 1/3-1/2 measuring cup as a scoop - it fills the jars super-fast and doesn't make a mess. The rim stays clean and dry. Thank you so much for sharing the recipe. My first batch came out perfect. I use small amounts of colored clays to give the mixtures a color to compliment a fragrance.

      Ellen, should we be worried about destroying properties when melting the hard butter? I make my scrub in a crock pot, I melt the butters and waxes on LOW, then add the rest when it's cooled down considerably. Even on low it got to about 190 , maybe I should melt in a double boiler. Have you temped the butters coming out of the micro?

    I just finnished making a batch of coffee scrub yesterday! I actually make a lotion base first then add my sugar. I do use distilled water in mine and enough waxes to make a rather thick cream then add my exfoliants. I just find this makes a creamy product without it being so stiff in the jar. Most recipes I've tried with just waxes, butters, oils are really hard to spread on the skin evenly. I see you start out by adding water and rubbing between your hands. I do my body scrubs this way on occasion. However, my facial scrubs I start with a cream base always, as I want that easy spreadability!
    I hope all that made sense, lol! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Our family got together,after cleaning up the wreckage with my daughter, I'm watching the Thanksgiving videos! Yeah, yours was one!
    Now on to "Black Friday" shopping tomorrow, lol! So had to get the great videos in tonight!

Next time leave out the hibiscus powder and use matcha tea, it has the same label appeal without the poopy brown color red and green makes brown.

    This is great! Can you make an emulsified whipped soap and body butter if you haven’t already?

    I made a small batch of this today as well. I used a little grape seed oil with the others. No mango because I didn't have any. I also added a little blue jojoba beads.

      If you add up all the ingredients including the sugar, you’ve got it👍

    How do all these solidified wax and oils react with drain pipes?

    • @EllenRuthSoap
      @EllenRuthSoap  Год назад

      I wipe my containers out really well with a paper towel, before I do the dishes😉

      So people that make these scrubs, don't use them in the shower? Solidified wax and oils melted and again solidify only to melt with hot shower water, oils don't go down drain pipes?
