A couple of follow-up details: 1) If there is more than one fault code stored in memory, they can be retrieved by re-initiating mode 1 by pushing the button 1 time after the first code has been read. The memory can hold up to 3 codes at a time. 2) In both diagnostic modes, the speed sensor can be tested even if the engine will not start. Enter diagnostic mode 2 then run the starter until the rapid flashing stops and a code is given. If rapid flashing doesn't stop there is no signal.
Thanks, this video helped me a lot. I have a problem, by testing function number two described at minute 4.18 my led does 3-3-2 and not like yours which does 3-3-3. Could it be that the TPS is faulty?
Excellent, wish I knew about it before I bought a throttle position sensor. who knew volvo would go into limp mode when tps came loose while driving...
Thanks, your 240 self diagnostic tests was most informative. Didn't understand how to perform the input tests. Now I do. That brings me to a question regarding my 92 240 wagon, 3.2 system. When testing the TPS sensor I get a code 332, not 333. Checking the idle switch gives a code 332. Any ideas? Also, re: your next batch of mead. Pasteurize the honey. There's a lot of stuff in there that can inhibit proper fermentation. Remember also that a low attenuating yeast should make for a sweeter mead than will one with high attenuation.
The video is too blurry to see what pages in the Bentley Bible he is talking about. It would help a great deal if you would tell us what pages to go to to see what you are talking about.

I got the same thing on a ‘93 2.4 wagon. May not mean anything but am interested to see if there is a difference
My hardback Bentley has no references to the OBD-I system at all.
So, random question, but does this same procedure also work for the 740 gl models? If so then that is awesome!

Will detect a bad brake booster ?
No. Brakes are not connected to obd.
2.3
you can delete anny code and reset det system
ECU will not self diagnose.
ECU Doesn't enter test mode.
These "diagnostics" are useless. My car had no error codes yet it was not starting. Cranked well but would not start due to lack of spark.
Awesome, keep videos coming!
