Glad I sold my 1st Zeta Bruticus and picked this once up! They definitely fixed the knee joint issue.

This is a great set but I prefer the toy accurate colors because the colors balance out better imo

Fallaway Movie to many , still trying to play catch-up , only takes a few days of the pain or medication being to much and wiping me out and I get behind on content :(
That does look really awesome, I’m a massive fan of what they have done! However, I just can’t justify buying both so sticking to my original. But I’m grumbling about it! 😂
My gears were certainly grinding after spending my duckets on the first set just to see them release a more G1 accurate color set with improved knees. Maybe I'll take my original one down and sell it. I really want that improved knee joint lol. Love the changes and love the colors. Thanks for reviewing!!
The reissue of ZA-07 just hit stores recently and I got mine in the mail yesterday. I can't stress enough just how great the combined mode is and just how not great the individual robots are. It's not just the overly blocky statures, it's the horrible clearances, the pieces which pop off, the pieces on Vortex's helicopter mode which snapped right off with any amount of pressure (breakage, not pop-offs) and so on.
Your video guide helped me with a lot of it, but without sounding like I'm offering too much unwanted criticism, please, if you can slow the editing down on combiners, it'd really help. There are so many pieces, modes, etc. that it is genuinely difficult just to reposition the figure from frame to frame with some of these transformation videos.
And that’s why I’m not completing my Superion set, they made this so much better than the original especially the Swindle leg. I can’t even move the knee without Swindle falling off. I’ll wait for a box set of Superion.

thanks for this review. i already have mmc swindel but i'm in china dealing with taobao and the figures are quite expensive and some are just really hard to find. this zeta toys box set is what im going for, i may even try their other box set combiners if this one holds up
I prefer the toy look. I like the blue abdomen area and the colors balance better imo.

I can't see Kronos box set looking all that different. I'm sure they'll remove the tampos and change up the head colors a bit, but I think I should be happy with my first release.
Here's my plan get this set for the combined mode as it scales better with my other figures and other combiners and get the MMC ones for there individual modes
Wonder what pricepoint the originals will bottom out at? It's nice that they fixed some of the issues, shame they couldn't have done that for their initial releases. Idk seems to be the new trend in 3P. Just ship it, we'll do it right for the re-release.

Like this. It kinda make me mad that all these companies are doing repaints. I think they should of done them in the cartoons colors. It makes sense to me. I haven't bought any of these in awhile so i should not be mad.i grew up on cartoons. It made me mad when i got toys and it didn't look like cartoon. But i digress.

I wish Zeta had done a Menasor and later release it as a box set.

Great Review - I am curious about their NEW set of Bruticon - ZA07 - METAL CHEST - is it worth it? I have this set currently and enjoy it most in Combined mode.
Im on the fence with this. Id be all in if they made the chest more toon accurate in style, not just in color. Just looks off to me because I try to go "full toon" with my collection.

I've been seeing a few ebayers selling the sets with the cartoon color scheme. I really prefer that look. But does anyone know if those sets still have the issues with the knees or do I HAVE to get the grey color scheme box set to get the QC issues addressed?

I completely agree. The cartoon color is more of an olive and this new set is closer to a brown. I definitely prefer the previous green.

The question is if they're gonna fix a lot of the QC issues and use a better plastic with the box set for Kronos. That would suck. I might as well sell my set then buy the box set if that's the case lol.
I would say that's obviously the plan. If you want the "fixed" version you probably better sell the old one while you can get something for it. It's a shame I prefer the colors of the original release, but this is clearly a far better built figure.
@@GibDozer1 That's the thing. I really love the colors of the original release but I'm kinda scared that they will go ham with V2. Shipping to Canada is expensive if I want to make sure nothing happens to it and I had to wait for TFcon to even get them. The other problem is if I buy that huge item, it will definitely be over $200 so I will get tagged for huge customs charges so it will beat the purpose of me waiting for so long to get them for a decent price.
If they (and other companies) keep releasing version 2 of everything no one is going to buy version 1 ... it’s a dangerous game

Alrighty, Ben. I need your expertise here, mate. I just received my Zeta Bruticon (ZA-07), and when un-boxing it I noticed that Uproar didn't have the chain link type of treads...these were more like a rubber band. Huh..."running change probably" I thought. When I sat down to look over Uproar some more I noticed his legs look different. Everything cleaned up better, the treads on the side of the leg weren't dangly. The treads sections looked folded in half and neatly sit at the side of his legs. Have you heard of any remolding/ re-engineering for Uproar or is this just they way it's packaged? Cause if this is the way it's packaged it looks 10 times better and I'm gonna transform him that way from now on. Haven't transformed any of the figures yet...maybe that'll give me so more clues. It definitely looks like an improvement tho.
edit: Got around to looking at the atlas of the instructions after getting the bots looked over. I suck at instructions, so they're usually among the last things looked over lol. Look like there maybe have been engineering improvements to Uproar treads. There's a color addendum in the instructions for the difference in transformation labeled "New PVC Pedrail" Sooo...I dunno if this is old news or not, but I haven't seen any information about Uproar's update from before I bought him up until now in the set. Maybe it's just the Metallic editions?
I want a toy inspired without all the shitty CQ issues..... oh well. Wish they would release an updated box set of the toy color version.

i.STiLL.FUNCTiON easier said than done , I did what I was physically able too, I think people forget I am disabled and suffer from chronic pain , lugging two combined bots about on video was just two much for me

As a child of the 80s, parts forming was acceptable. As an adult collector, no thank you. Ill be getting MMC’s.

I own both Bruticon and Armageddon, this one is miles better. The spring sections on the knees are tighter and the paint on Swindle and Onslaught is brilliant.
I would've loved it if they could've re-engineered Blast off so the combiner peg sat on the under carriage for the more G1 look. I hope they're looking into adding a Blast off cockpit chest piece. The peg holes are on the main chest they just need to engineer it.
Any way this is the best Bruticus to own right now great review Ben.
Do you recommend these dudes for playing? (I mean transform them back and forth like once a week or 3 times a month? XD)

Honestly, it's up to you. Depends on which one you think looks better. I much prefer the toy colors, especially when looking at Bruticus.
You should put everything on the toy before you review it because many of us want to see everything
