I’ve found that some of the instability comes from the hips on Brawl moving in limb mode, and that main slide joint causes as well as fixes some instability too.
I’m hunting around for some stronger springs for the leg ports to clear up that problem, but overall an excellent set for the money!
Bruticus was one of the few combiners I had when I was a kid, so going for Zeta's more toy look was a bit of a no-brainer for me...that and the sweet sweet gestalt mode.
Seeing this makes me all the more excited to see their completed Superion! Oh I can't wait til that guy is done!
Another combiner i NEED for my collection. I like the look of Ragnaros better, but, i love the way this scales with Constructor. After this will be the Jinbao oversized Gravity Builder.
He is huge. Both are great.. would had love the unique to be as big as Zeta.
I'll wait for the box set. I'm still loving my OS Warbotron. I still think this Warbotron is way cool.
I must say! I was planning on picking up the Unique Toys Ragnaros, but I managed to get the Toyworld Constructor for an amazing price of Ebay which I wasn't planning to get. But I am so glad that I got the Constructor that now, to me the Zeta Toys Armageddon is a must have. The height on these guys is absolutely perfect for MP scale, and the price is actually not bad. I was going to with the Generations Toy Gravity Builder oversized KO version, which I still really like but for me is the right scale. What's even more awesome is that Fanstoys, toyworld and Dx9 are all coming out with combiners in that scale. As always great review.
I just need to get Onslaught and I'll have another Completed Bruticus to go with the Combiner Wars one from Hasbro. I Love ZETA!
I want it so bad
Great review! My Zeta Onslaught has been ordered, and I can't wait to complete Bruticus. It was an easy choice for me; ever since I got Constructor, if given a choice I'll always go for a 22" combiner over one that is CHUG scale at 18" or less. I may get a UT Swindle at some point just because they really did nail the G1 cartoon look for him, but the other UT Combaticon bot modes aren't that much better than the Zeta versions.
Unique Toys Brawl is pretty nice as well. Unique Toys really nailed the animation look for the most part and it has a fairly easy transformation.
I was seriously excited for this guy and now I’ve completely soften on the release. So much so that I’m contemplating selling all the limbs. My fear is that when if I was to buy him that in a few months time that a animation set will come down the line that will fix all the issues this seems to have. Even worse maybe it will be a gift set, so I’m stuck in quite the impasse for this release. While I’m not one to play with my robots a lot I do occasionally like to mess with them and this seems stressful than it’s worth. The hype around how solid these figures really set an expectation that the final product doesn’t seem to live up to.

Bruticus devastate Devastator
I'm nearly a year late to the party here but this Bruticus is goddamn amazing and I need it.

I don't mind the mass & appearance of the individual robots - I'm not really feeling the colours on some of them though.
I am pretty indifferent to the combined mode he's a bit neither Arthur or Martha, The Vehicle modes are mostly a bit meh too. Add in the needlessly fiddly transformations - Then I'll say he's a back burner item.
I'm not ruling them out though as they would be an acceptable larger scale for the robot mode - or it would give me an excuse to disassemble my Jin Bao over-size Warbotron KO to use them in robot modes.
If I knew for sure I was going to get the Aerialbots - or they decide to start in on Motormaster then I'd raise it up the buying chain a little bit.
I do slightly prefer the Unique toys ones - though that is only "Slightly".
I don't dislike them but as I already have The Warbotron, the Oversize KO of it and the Multi-coloured KO of the normal size (and I'm considering by the metal one as well) then I may be OK for Constructicons.
A much more noticeable gap in my collection is the Stunticons in a nice size.
I do kind of like the arm cannons. And the forearm wheels. I like cartoon accuracy, but also like seeing something more toy-like also. I LOVE when they give us options like zeta has. And I don’t mind add on sets (for a cartoon chest piece for instance). What I don’t like is when they pack those add ons in “for free” (like they are actually free) with future toys. That’s just forcing you to buy toys you may not want. Just don’t take a year like you did with Toyworld constructor.
Kinda wish you woulda compared him with os warbotron. That is my current bruticus
Thats odd, my armageddon is also bigger than constructor. I want ik the same size you have...saves me a bunch of space.
@benscollectables how many chain bases did you need to fill the height Zeta Bruticus? I want to build the chain base to fit my moducase df120 that will have TW Constructor in it

what batteries does the head takes?
if you take off 16 treads on brawl they will not come in robot mode or combine mode

Vortex is the only one that bugs me. he's not the correct helicopter i.e Kaman SH-2 Seasprite.

I like what MMC is doing with theirs, buuuut... to be frank I'm kinda over $600 combiners. No one is going to touch Zeta's near-retail pricepoints.
Look at it this way, TFC's combined bots, separately, cost $100 a piece whereas the torso bot costs $150 or more.
With Zeta, their's costs $59 to $69 where the torso bit costs between $100 & $150, if not more.
An oversized KO of the UT Bruticus is on its way.. cheaper and bigger

Combined he's great a little to cartoony for me individualiy in robot mode hate the pink color they used oh wait is he gay I would like an IDW in that size. But again combined he's great pay attention 3rd party people and knock off brands this is the size a combiner is supposed to be toyworld Devastator set the bar

You know, with Constructor, the did silver thighs, and people wanted colored thighs. With this guy, they give us colored thighs, and people want silver thighs. oye vey.
Armageddon outta here lol. Idk, these guys just don't do it for me. The bots are horrible and plain and the bruticus is nice but still looks plain and has flaws. Something about it just doesn't sit right with me. Not getting this set.
