This set is phenomenal. I've never spent this much on a single figure set and probably never will again, but Bruticus is my favorite combiner and I HAD to get these after watching your Fraudo review. They're all so good looking in every mode, the boxes are great, everything about them just screams quality.
I haven't gotten around to replacing the shoulder ratchet yet but I need to because I still haven't combined them yet.

It seems pretty obvious to me that the legs are supposed to be collapsed, that extra joint makes no sense and it makes the bot less stable
The same applies to Feral Rex.
Both Toyworld Constructor and Zeta’s combiners have abs crunches with the help of their parts forming pieces.

There's definitely a ton of stuff I love about this combiner. The way they all combine together is neat and the way everything is stored on the bots. I especially love how the combined hands are built into the bots themselves
Wonder what part Swindle's mind played in Bruticus's decision to switch over to Megatron.

I'm really curious how they'll handle Groove when they do Defensor. I'm worried his motorcycle mode will be really compromised in order to get the foot built in.
I'll still probably buy them all, though. I need a beefy bot to go against Assaultus.
I was thinking about getting the Make Toys Defensor, now I'm thinking maybe I should hold off .

@@electrobuster5483 Nah, they're doing G1. A mock-up revealed a while back shows Groove as a leg, not Rook.

This is a beautiful modernization of Bruticus. If this had been a thing in G1 it would have probably out-sold every single other combiner.
I think it's taller than the Warbotron KO I have (yes, I went the cheap route then painted it up)
Man I don't blame you, being how so expensive these combiners be.

Toyworld and Zeta’s combiners do have ab crunch with the help of their part forming.

Definitely, I picked up the UT one on a deep discount about a year ago. This set looks miles better imo, but I cant justify the price tag to switch up. Still an impressive piece.

You and me both. I've got no qualms about buying KOs. Honestly I prefer them, as I buy toys purely for my own enjoyment.
The good stuff isn't cheap.
This is the only combiner that is so satisfying to watch with those built-in no parts forming hands or feet.

Bruticus is probably my favorite combiner out of all of them (except maybe the constructicons) and its a shame he will never get an official figure of this sort of quality
My first introduction to combiners was with Beast Wars Magnaboss and Tripredacus. Everything with them was all built in. This is why I love this set so much. No partsforming. Nothing popping into or out of existence.
I'm really digging the toon accurate look on mine as well. I went one step further and kept all the fiddly bits(antennas and gun) off of Brawl in combined mode. Looks slot cleaner that way.
Really liked this. Along with Warbotron Bruticus.

I can not get over how huge he is or the other combiners are of the modern age. I had him and the other G1's minus Computron and that small pretender one Decy-con? No way would I have had the room for them all now that size. Congrats to all that do. :)
I see Emgo put Vortex's insignia on his shoulder. I thought about doing that myself, but the fact that it ended up upside down in helicopter mode bugged me too much. So I ended up applying decals more in accordance to the original toy. That is to say, one insignia on the chest, and on on either side of the tail in vehicle mode.
I have the Assaultus Regenesis on preorder, can’t wait to get my hands on it!
I also had the G2 version of Hasbro’s Bruticus as a kid (didn’t manage to keep him, unfortunately). So, the Regenesis set will be a massive nostalgia-gasm for me.
They did an awesome job on these guys. It's like a combiner that made no compromises for being a combiner. All the individual bots are awesome, then the combiner is just as posable

This is by far my favorite bruticus figure, i have the g2 paint version and they really improved those joints. Tight bug not too tight, easily holds himself up in various poses with ease

Great vid Emgo. I think i will wait for MMC to do a few re-releases so that they can iron out the small problems Assaultus has. This to me is probably the best iteration of G1 Bruticus. A definite buy for me in the near future

Good pleasant review as always. 👍 imo tho, tho all the different from modes look great, i feel like his combined mode n vehicle modes r definitely NOT mp scaled. They look too small. However, their robot modes scale PERFECTLY wit the mp scale. Which is kinda odd for a combiner. Kinda reminds me of dx9's rodimus prime scale.. his bot mode also scales perfectly but his vehicle mode was totally too small. Guess thats a price of all in 1s?🤔 idk where imma display mines. Probably stand alone like studio cells unicron.

One of the things I liked most about the G1 Protectobots that I had in the '80s is switching them around between arm and leg modes. I'm a little disappointed that you can't do that with this Bruticus, nor with the upcoming Defensor, I expect.

Just a note, toyworld Devastator and zeta Bruticus and Superion all have ab crunch as well. Sure, they use partsforming torso but they do have it.
I love how G1 toy accurate this set looks. I do think it's much better with the upgrade set though. Really amazed that MMC pulled this off so well. The only real sacrifice I see in combined mode is the hands. Not being able to splay the fingers out on a figure this big is definitely a drawback. Overall the best Combaticons/Bruticus to date imo, especially since I prefer this scale to the Zeta.

I'm not sure if I would categorize this as a Masterpiece combiner, since it ends up being shorter than a lot of combiners that fit the Masterpiece scale better. It would probably make a good substitute for a Combiner War Bruticus, though.
I can't help but see Onslaught's fists bunched up against the torso and see them as little T-rex arms...
Zeta Superitron and ToyWorld Constructor both have ab crunches, but they’re not integrated into the main figures and they’re a bear to use, as the joint is extremely tight on both.
I'm not sure if it is the first, but I know it's not the only one. Toyworld Constructor also has an ab crunch.

On swindle and brawl the extra pieces look like support struts to help move in combined mode and to keep stability like a big bot

Hey emgo idk if youve seen this but ive seen other collectors/reviewers review a mp-10 knockoff... that is 28 inches tall! All havent had many conplaints and have said its a fun figure and pretty cool seeing how hes so big.
I've seen it. No interest in it.
I love he has a smaller handgun than most combiners and most larger TF figs. He knows he does not have to overcompensate. :P
Unless you get the upgrade kit. That gun definitely falls into compensating territory.

Where did you buy the decepticon decals for them? And the figure looks great I really love the look of the combine mode and the all built in feature! These reviews have persuaded me to start collecting this set!

There's one Bruticus that I'm surprised wasn't in this comparison. Forgot its name though. It was basically edit pieces that were meant to upgrade the individual transformers with more armaments and the combined form. Forgot its name.
Brawl always been my favorite combaticons
My only issue is his feet are way too small, but the fact that that is the only major glaring issue in a combiner with everything included inside the figures, no partsforming needed, really says something about the engineers who made this!
