Stability issues aside, I think this is an amazing piece of smart engineering. Probably the best looking "All in one" combiner I've ever seen. Wish it was a tad taller. But I have to give them credit, they did a great job.

The size & the aesthetics of Ocular Max's Bruticus works for me. IMHO, this combiner release is a love note to the original Bruticus toy & the G1 cartoon. And I fucking love it. A definite buy for me in the near future once i can sell my organs for the right price 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Cheers for the video Bobby ✌🏽✌🏽✌🏽✌🏽

You got unlucky here, or I got lucky. Mines got tight enough hips and knees that I can just basically drop him into any pose I'm looking for and have him stand on his own power. He can sometimes take a moment to get there, but that'll be when I have too much of his mass unsupported.

Iv had this guy in combined mode for a few weeks now and for everything it is I think it’s great. If you get the chance to mess with the add on kit I would, I have him displayed with the kit as I prefer the toy look, very nostalgic for me, it hands a little height due to the feet also making it more stable, but not to a great extent. It does suffer from poor ratchets all over the figure in relation to weight of individual figures, meaning it is unstable in poses and hard to pose. Overall it’s a great effort for a unique concept, I am in on their Defensor, if they can learn from the stability and ratchet issues then Defensor will be great, an MMC are usually on point when progressing and learning from past products. Great review as always

It’s definitely the first time for an3p combiner where I’m not sure how I want to display this set. The combined mode is REALLY well done. The robot modes are REALLY well done. Absolutely agree with your issues on the set bother me as well personally. But overall I’m pretty darn happy with it. And I’m glad they’ve already started on Defensor!

It being a “one off thing” or “league of its own” is where I might just put it. I was really hoping it would do well in combined mode since I ordered two sets. One for bot mode an another in combined. I still love the way it looks but it’s a shame it has a bunch of stability issues and it isn’t as tall as I’d like it to be. The height is what disappoints me the most since word on the street is that MMC has a defensor in the works. I still love the set tho, but it’ll definitely have to be by itself and that’s a major bummer to me

I just finished this team last weekend, but I'm not combining them (mainly due to lack of space for display as a combiner). I'm glad the individual bots still scale well with other teams (FT Stunticons for example). I think MMC was going for a more toy accurate combine mode instead of toon accurate which is fine.
This is my favorite Decepticon team.

I think Bobby nailed it on his final thoughts. I own all (5) of these bots, because I do think what they did here was impressive, and also because I like most of their individual Bot modes. But, if I'm being honest I do wish they would have went the route of Zeta and added the parts forming element, because I think if they weren't bound to this all-in-one gimmick they could have made something to replace my Zeta Bruticon. Instead we got some pretty solid bots, with some impressive alt modes, that falls just a bit short when combined.

I agree with you on nearly all fronts, but I value the all-built-in gimmick very differently. Most of my enjoyment with these toys comes from handling and transforming them, and from that perspective parts-forming combiners come with a pile of bits you have to keep track of and carry around just in case you feel like combining them.
This set is a dream for me really, as long as they keep up the quality I'm probably in for every other combiner they make in this line.

MMC pulled off a non-parts-forming combiner and succeeded. That's a Masterpiece. If they strengthen the ratchets on their Onslaught reissue, this thing will be even better. No fake pelvis, torso, or hands. No cheats. That's a Masterpiece. Cool video. You're awesome.

I bought this 'cuz the engineering made me want to play with it, and it does not disappoint. I also want to pick up one of the Zeta combiners eventually (probably Superitron), as I want to experience the behemoth nature of the sets. There is no wrong answer here, as you've pointed out time and time again. You like it? You win. I'm glad you enjoyed messing around with it as well. Great review, thanks! 👍

The place that this sits in my collection is actually with my normal combiners. I got the foot upgrade kit for it and that makes him the exact same height as the titan scale Devastator and Predaking and also with my KO upscaled version of Superion (which I don't feel bad about buying because I also bought the original combiner wars one). the mmc bruticus seems to scale with the combiner wars devastator(from what i've seen both are roughly the same height) which i think is cool the 2 most accurate combiners with barely any parts forming being the same height is nice
now i've gotta be critical/defensive it might have helped the stability if you used his heels fully they weren't even touching the ground in the last bit and the hand articulation is well realistic hands don't do 360 rotations and the robots look great they are all accurate hell this entire set is the most accurate bruticus set i feel like you for some reason have this hate towards all in one sets its odd this figure is great and shows that you can do combiners without needing to partsform and that it can be done with insane accurate robots and vehicles and a insanely accurate combined mode, i do think sometimes parts forming is required with certain figures like galvatron he has to partsform his cannon or headmasters and 1 combiner (menasor is the only one you can really say has to parts form) or omega supreme but if its not needed and can be done without partsforming and still be good then partsforming on expensive figures shouldn't be a thing at all its just well lazy hell look at zeta toys bruticus the fucking head on it is parts forming

Chase down each individual on ebay, try chosen prime if they got any in stock or Tfsource, or worst case bbts, or like they guy Deluxe Baldwin recommends, terry wong. But as Bobby said, its like lifting a small toddler that refuses to stand up when handling it in combiner due to too weak ratchets in Onslaughts legs and the weight difference between Swindle vs Brawl, and that it wouldnt hurt if it were about a head higher, those upgrade parts dont rectify that and in my opinion destroys the idea itself of the entire thing being self contained.

My issue with this was .. were they going to go for "toy look" or "g1 sunbow look"
If they planned to make a g1 sunbow look, correct me if I'm wrong the thighs are the wrong color. I think it would have better if they just made it toy look. However I think they couldn't figure out how to do the studio ox /toy look and engineer the silver feet... (hence the silver feet add-on)
So for me, this is kinda neither here or there.. I do really like Blast-Off's colors and the transformation.

Now lets have a mp scale combiner made of combiners......devastator as the torso, bruticus and menasor as the legs with preadking and abominus as the arms

Given everything Bobby said, I guess we're not likely to see or hear any thoughts on how it looks with the supplemental pieces. If nothing they do give him better feet.

I'm ok with the combiner not being 'incredible' as the individual modes are what i was after, the team not the united combiner.
The knees and hips are rubbish though, no real strength in them for the combined mode.
Still a damn good bash at the all-in-one and the upgrade kit helps with height a bit and the bigger feet help with stability.

I really like the bots. Especially Swindle. Will ptobably at least get him. Maybe Brawl too. I'd like to get the Zeta set for the combined mode only, but now that I havr been comparing, I can't help thinking about how chunky the individual bots are. Kinda ruins it for me. Almost wish I could just vet a great looking Bruticus that doesn't transform at all and probably save myself a load of money, if the bots he is made from don't look right.(their Swindel in particular.)

You have to give MMC their applause for engineering & design, so disappointing it's not MP scale especially with defensor rumoured.

I really have to commend MMC for making such an amazing combiner without any parts-forming. Yeah, the individual bots do suffer a bit to necessitate the combination and the joints aren't as tight as I'd like, but I'd argue that they're still some of the best toon-style Combaticons we have ever gotten.
My only legitimate complaint (and this is more of a nitpick) is that Vortex's blaster doesn't store on Vortex in combined mode. Every other limb stores their guns and bits on them, but Vortex has to throw his in Onslaught's back. I could just slide it in the hollow tail section, but it's not attached anywhere.
Ah well, still one of the best Bruticuses (Brutici?) on the market out there. I can't wait to see a Defensor in this style.
