These are so good, I luv that you are taking a look back at these awesome figures.
The RID 2001 anime had Armorhide face the other way with the turret at the back. Those models were more toy accurate.
My first combiner. Love the combaticons. Swindle is best most fleshed out gestalt leg.

Since my childhood I had a tiny gray plastic gun and had no clue what it was from, until I got to the segment of this video featuring Brawl (who also happens to be my favorite combaticon) and whoop-de-doo, that's what it is! It's neat to find out I've had an antique toy accessory in a LEGO bin for the better part of 2 decades xD
I've really been digging these throwback reviews! If I may, I'd love to see you review any/all of the other G1 Combiner teams like Predaking or Abominus if you own them?
I reviewed my G1 predaking a long time ago.
Also, probably said earlier, but Vortex can stand easier when you slide his hips and waist back along that trench under his back.
Lastly, I'd suggest tightening Brawl's knees, as it looks like that's the cause of the leaning
Could be .....or he could just flip down onslaughts arms ...because thats why hes not balanced
@@TonySpike Except he's supposed to have his arms out like that. The chest plate has two tabs that plug into the shoulder joints that would just push against the front of the shoulders if they were down

I Still have the TF Universe Ruination! Heck and before that I had the 2000 repaints of Bruticus (Blast Off, Vortex and Swindle!)
He was technically my first and actual Combiner! Well, I did have Prime and the others he could combine with in Armada but still, something enjoyable about a full out G1 combined is always great~

I loved having bruticus growing up.Back then he was amazing.And then came predaking.
So many fond memories of Bruticus. I want to buy that 3p set that has all the parts built-in.

Reminds me of mega octane, roll bar, brawl, rotor and movor (who together form ruination) from the 2001 ENG Transformers R.I.D. I now see they were a straight up repaint and rename of of the g1 combaticons. 2001 Transformers rid was the first transformers i remember watching as a kid (5 at the time). My first transformer i got as a kid was x-brawn. Used to have optimus, combaticons and scourge. Still have the autobot brothers, build team, ultra magnus and brawl in various states of missing/broken/yellowing pieces. Ah the nostalgia, thank you for a video reminding me of a well enjoyed childhood, i salute you sir o7.
I've already got G1 Bruticus, what I've ordered on EBay about 3 years ago. Probably love it.

For the time they were released (1986) they were really fantastic toys! I still have mine! They cant possibly be compared to what they can make today! The G1 Transformers have a charm that nothing released since has!
On Vortex there is a sliding joint im the waist that pushes his legs back. I found that out last year when messing with my RID Ruination gang( had them for 15 years 😅)

Emgo you’re normally very thorough in your reviews. That’s why I am surprised that you didn’t mention that Onslaught and Motormaster’s base modes were designed to link with Trypticon‘ s city mode

The only g1 combiner I was able to complete as a kid.Had s lot of the other leaders silverbolt,motormaster,hot spot and others but never was able to complete them.
Can you do the G1 aerial bots next please?

I had all of these when I was younger. Been living in the USA since I was 28. Went back to the UK at Christmas and was going to bring these back with me.... Let's just say I must have played with them alot cuz they were not worth bringing back lol.
Emgo you remind me a lot of “Sherlocke” from the Flash tv show. I like how try to make the videos interesting with the different voices👌
I can't help but wonder if Onslaught's arms are supposed to be pointed down for the combination, like Menasor.
Ah man, these things... the condition you have this thing in is amazing, I don't even know where mine is anymore... hehe
Instead of rotating his shoulder joints to point backwards, I've always pointed them down. It widens out his torso a little, but I don't remember having the balance problem.
I have a very, very small g1 collection but I have these guys. They are so awesomely precious!!!!
I've been eyeing the alternate colored ones that make Ruination from Car Robots(aka: Robots in Disguise 2001), but I'm still kinda pissed that Hasbro did NOT release them as a complete set. Seriously! I remember picking up combiner characters of Superion Maximus, Bruticus Maximus, and Constructicon Maximus from my local Zellers(back when that store was still around), and I NEVER found all the parts to each figure, because of that "Sold Separately" BS Hasbro did.

I really hope we get a reissue of him as a big fan of Bruticus and the Combaticons they are indeed and always will be my favorite combiner
I ended up going Edgy Boi on this set and I got the Urban Camo Ruination set. While I need to find 2 guns to fully finish the set, I'm honestly shocked how good these guys are for G1 molds!
Dont forget brawl has little mini fist sculpts!

Am go how you doing such a huge fan of your Transformers reviews I the creators of the Transformer action figures back in our days we're focused more on their vehicular form then the robot form because the vehicular Farm was always the best form
One of my favorites. Lobe the color scheme. I had the Ruination for robots in disguise, for car Robots.
vortex's waist can slide back, which helps with stability, im surprised you didn't notice the huge track in his butt when trying to find heel spurs

Thanks to this video I just discovered that I have recolours (and it seems slightly remolded) of the G1 Combaticons. Sadly I never got Onslaught...
I loved Blast off as a kid (and still) but never understood why he was a part off the team
I think he's a combat shuttle, but I'm not entirely sure
While I prefer him as a jet, like in combiner wars, the idea with him in G1 was blasting enemies from space.
Of course, one would think that makes it hard to combine.
Space Force
He was magically created from a corroded WWII bomber once Starscream installed a "personality matrix". So of course he's a space shuttle, because G1, dammit! Lol
Blast off is a low altitude shuttle. Basically just an airplane that flies almost in space but not quite

My uncle had a bin of old g1 go it’s and transformers and he had 1 part of Bruiticus in that bin and there was the entire devastator but the arm connection was broken off

Got the RID version of this, and my "Vortex" is different when it comes to his legs - not loose, but tight. Using him as a leg bot is best avoided, because once the feet have been slid up, they lock tight, and I fear breaking him when trying to return him to robot mode.
I love how you made bruticus sound like Bane
Gotta slide Vortex's legs back to get him to stand up easier and it keeps his fist from hitting his leg in combine mode! Also when you have Brawl on backwards if you rotate his turret down the notch cut out of the back matches with his leg well. I think he was actually meant to go on that way

I've noticed as brawl ages it causes Bruticus to lean backwards. I had a RID Ruination that was solid but was new.

Can you make Vortex and Blast Off the legs and Brawl and Swindle the arms too? I remember that the G1 Combaticons were repainted into the 2001 RiD Decepticons who combine into Ruination; and they sometimes show him having his limbs reversed.

Damn, I remember my brother getting a cheap knockoff figure of this Bruticus, was a bit cheaper plastic, and a bit differemt colouring, but it was the same mold, transformed the same, had some stickers on the chest... We had a blast transforming him, unfortunatelly didn't live long because we had a knack for breaking stuff haha, had many cheap KO Transformers as a kid I broke, we couldn't afford the original stuff, which is probably a good thing, because now as an adult with a job and my own monthly earning, I get to enjoy the figures properly without breaking them, and I get to enjoy the figures I wasn't able to as a kid.
This brings back a lot of memories though.
