So everyone knows. I have seen the video that was posted about the silencer. If you look closely, I have the silencer oriented properly, per the instructions. I was doing it right. I was always doing it right, but I still have the tightness issue with the connection and I have seen other say the same. It does seem like it's a case of "your mileage may vary"

For the record, the cylinder that goes into the barrel is a little bit too thick. Shaving it down with a sharp knife or using sandpaper will be enough.
Open the silencer and then sand off the grey plastic tab.

I love how megatron has this giant ass canon on his arm and he still feels the need for a gun

The main reason he used the gun at all was that in the movie, the arm cannon had broken off

Alas, a roughy transformation as all part of the price for getting a Megatron that both looks like the cartoon yet still can become a gun.

I dunno g1 couch is pretty nice, if there was a masterpiece couch, it needs to be a bit bigger and made of more realistic materials.

It's amazing how intricate the designs have become. I remember transforming MP-01 back when it was new thinking it was insane, but Megs here has taken things to a new level. Kudos to the design team for making such an accurate robot mode - something that us G1 fans never thought we would ever see!
The designers for this should be promoted to working on an international space program. Genius levels.

The engineering that goes into just ONE of these is just mind boggling. It's obvious these were engineered by true fans of the g1 cartoon. Fantastic job!

I'm impressed the engineering advancements we've come from the old G1 toys, any kid back in '84 would have broken this the first 5 seconds.
If I could give you 100 likes just on the fact you had to transform the original MP Megatron at least twice there. This video must of been an all day job based on all the Megatrons you had to transform and how complicated some of them are. Great video as always.

I think Takara really outdid themselves on this one. I especially love the battle damage parts for the 86 film. Kinda makes me want them to release another MP Prime just so that they can find a way to give him his battle damaged look as well, just so we can have the full scene (and we already have MP Hot Rod to have as a hostage to boot).
I think he looks beautiful and as soon as I get the money I’m adding him to the collection 👍👍
the scuffs would make the gun look more natural I'm pretty much alone on this but I think a little bit of wear and tear can make a toy look better depending on circumstances

I got to the part where you show all the robot mode comparisons, and I realized, "Man, he had to transform every one of those....and those are some complicated transformations!" Ha! Props on that, dude!
one fix for the silencer problem would be to open it up and carefully remove or cut out that peg. that would solve the problem of putting the silencer on. now fixing the paint scuffing, all I can say is clear coat the barrel other than that, you're on your own when it comes to any other problems
12:40 Thanks, Emgo316! That part where you have to "fatten" the legs by sliding the panels up/down was a big problem for my MP-36. I felt it was going to break while doing that section. Your "wiggle, wiggle, wiggle" trick did wonders!

I don't think I've ever seen the original MP Megs, so when you said that this one was leaps and bounds a galaxies and planets better, I was confused.

Another thing to note, this rendition of Megs has his chest able to open up revealing more detail as shown in the beast wars TV show. Such as his spark chamber and what have you.
I don't believe there will ever be a Hasbro US retail release of MP Megatron because of the current gun law of having a toy gun that looks like a real gun.

If you file the tab that holds the barrel it will loosen the grip and you won't be scared of breaking the barrel.

This is the figure that got me started on the Masterpiece line. I was just looking for a G1 Megs (since that was one i always wanted as a kid) when I came across this guy and was just blown away by it. He looks like they ripped him straight from the cartoon. But of course he had to have Optimus to go with him... And Starscream... And Soundwave... And Magnus... And all the others...
Aaaaaand now I've run out of space and money. Worth it, though!

When you put all the guns on him he sort of looked a bit like Lockdown

As usual, fantastic review. I kept rewatching your Apollyon and Mightron reviews trying to decide which one to buy. Now I'm so glad I waited. The real Megatron has finally arrived. He makes all the others look like not so cheap knockoffs. (Especially MP-05)

Another excellent review, as always. The only thing that I think was missed out was having the barrel aim forward in robot mode, like how the G1 robot mode looked like.
The way those legs transform is awesome, going from the two halves of the thin handle to the thick Megatron legs is pure engineering wizardry.

Mr Gomez.... i came up for an easy fix for the barrel extension issue.... if you unscrew the barrel extensions 3 visible screws, and one hidden one under the post that swings out to attach the barrel extension to the stock assembly... if you are patient you can carefully spread the barrel extension at the connection area.... take the post that goes into the barrel on megs off of the post it sits on... you then carefully sand the cross arms on the piece.... then reassemble without rescrewing it together to test you will find that all you will need to do is remove some plastic until it slides on better... the post is too thick for the barrel... if you do it slowly and test as you go you can get the barrel extension to go fully on and be safe to remove... even if you do not wish to attempt this the process can be tried by one of your like 9,000,000 other fans :) great vids as always

+emgo316 just FYI, the inside of the silencer is painted with black paint, so the "scuffing" on the barrel of your gun could be paint that rubbed off the silencer and not paint that was scraped off the gun.
