Emgo, you seriously ROCCCCK!!
Just so you know, there's a LOT more voice clips than were heard here in the review. This is understandable, as they're apparently randomized, so getting to hear all of them wouldn't be practical without a lot of repeats and/or video editing. Mode 2, in particular, is extensive-31 voice clips in all.
You already figured out the first round of voice clips, and some of the others are just as obvious, but to be complete, here's what's heard in the review...
Mode 1 (main, 4 lines total)
"Cybertron senshi, Transform!" / "Autobots, transform!"
"Transform! Start your engines!"
Mode 2 (G1 seasons 1 & 2, 31 lines total)
"Saa, tanomu zo, Roller. Ano futari ga dou natta ga sagurun'da. Ki wo tsukete na." / "Okay, Roller, I'm counting on you. Find out what happened to those two. And be careful."
"Naani, daijoubu da. Atarashiku soubi shita jidou shuri system ga sadou shite kureta you da na." / "I'm all right. It seems the newly installed auto-repair systems are functioning."
(Hearty laughter)
"Lambor ga iru ka! Omae no rocket booster wo kase! Meirei da!" / "There you are, Sideswipe! Lend me your rocket booster! That's an order!"
(Pained scream)
"Matei! Sou ha ikan zo , Megatron!" / "Hold it! No, you don't, Megatron!"
"Ha ha ha ha ha ha! De ha Destron no nakamaware wo takami no kenbutsu wo sharekomuka." / "Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Then let's treat ourselves to the spectacle of a falling out among the Decepticons."
"Yamenaika, Gong, ii kagen ni shiro! Kondo Perceptor wo bujoku shite miro. Kono watashi ga damatte inai zo." / "Stop it, Brawn! Enough, already! Just try and insult Perceptor next time. I will not remain silent."
"Megatrooooon!"
"Anatagata wo osotta no ha Destron no hakai gundan de, yatsura kara chikyuu wo sukuu no ga wareware no ninmu no da." / "The ones who attacked you are the destructive forces of the Decepticons. It is our mission to protect Earth from them."
"Aa, Spike, watashi koso honmono no Convoy shireikan da. Tsumari watashi ga Cybertron no soushireikan de ari, kimi no tomo Convoy da yo." / "Yes, Spike, I am the real Commander Optimus Prime. In other words, the supreme commander of the Autobots and your friend, Optimus Prime."
"Teletran 1! Destron no space bridge no basho wo dashite kure. Hayaku!" / "Teletran 1! Provide the location of the Decepticon space bridge. Hurry!"
Mode 3 ("The Unicron War", original movie lines, 9 lines total)
"Omae no okage de nannin no Cybertron ga shinda." / "How many Autobots have died thanks to you?"
"Tanonda zo, ima warera ni hitsuyou na no ha energy to kouun nan da." / "We're counting on you. Now all we need is energy and good luck." ("Now all we need is a little energon and a lot of luck.")
"Meister, keibi joukyou ha dou natte iru?" / "Jazz, how's the security situation coming?" ("Jazz, report security status.")
"Uuumu, mada da!" / "Rrrrh, not yet!" ((Pant pant) Never!")
"Tatoe kono mi ga gisei ni narou to mo, Megatron ha taosu shika nai!" / "Even if it means sacrificing myself, Megatron must be stopped!" ("Megatron must be stopped, no matter the cost.")
Mode 4 ("The passing of the Matrix", 5 lines total)
"Saa, daidai hiki-tsunagarete kita Matrix wo...leader no akashi wo...uketore." / "Now, accept the Matrix...the proof of leadership...passed down for generations." ("[I]t is to you, old friend, that I shall pass the Matrix of Leadership, as it was...passed to me ...")
"Nani mo, nageki-kanashimu koto ha nai. Jiki ni watashi ha Matrix to hitotsu ni naru kara da." / "There is nothing to regret. ("Do not grieve.") Soon I shall be one with the Matrix."
Mode 5 (2010/G1 season 3, 5 lines total)
"Eichi no hikari yo, yami wo terashite kure." / "Light of wisdom, illuminate the darkness." ("Now, light our darkest hour.")
"Uchuu ga...hitotsu ni...matomaru made ha..." "Until...the universe...is brought together as one." ("Until...all...are one.")
"Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Aah, ii to mo, Bumble, omae no kibou douri, kore kara omae-san no koto wo Goldbug to yobou." / "Ha ha ha ha ha ha! No problem, Bumblebee. As you wish, from now on, we shall call you Goldbug." ("Ha ha! That you are, Bumblebee, so from now on, that's exactly who you'll be: Goldbug!")
Mode 6 (Peter Cullen, 4 lines total, no translation necessary)

Remember when people complained that the movie toys were getting too complex to transform???
Adam Allison Their cg models were a nightmare in tackling the transfornation process. The toys were only a taste of it.

But when I watch the original cartoon, the transformation doesn't look like this
The bayverse toys though, they are trying to replicate the transformation animation in the toys, and maybe we will see they'll perfect it after 50 yrs
I love how so many of these have all these little panels and stuff that flip out and tab in to cover up the inner workings and make the robot modes look so cartoon clean.
you *know* it's a needlessly complex transformation if Emgo cuts sections.
Haru Takami And TWICE, compared to only once for Element OP!
I can understand why Megatron was so complicated, but this one just seems unnecessary
Transformation to bot mode is pretty easy, truck mode requires some more care but nothing overly complex about it.

The Starscream head and shoulder piece are from Megatron's master plan episode were Spike is showing the Mayor a video of Starscream Thundercracker Skywarp disguised as Autobots.
I was never really into the cartoons or movies but I loved the toys when I was a kid. The creativity that went into designing them is mind-boggling. The people who created the models were geniuses. Figuring out how to transform the toy is one thing, but imagine how complicated it would be to create the original from scratch.

Oh yeah. The "I have a good idea" clip?
That is Optimus' famous catchphrase in Japan.
reynaldi Pangestu TakaraTomy even nicknamed one toy of Prime with that catchphrase
If I had to pick ANY Masterpiece Prime, it would either be Magic Square's version, Transform Element's version, or MP-10.
This one is good, but it's WAY to complicated for me!
And MP-01...yeah, no thanks.
Hmm. To be honest, I still prefer the G1 toy look of the MP10 mold. It's still nice though, even if I'll never be able to afford it
This figure is not just a collectible toy, it is a work of art
and a workout tool because of the transformation
Yeah, the masterpiece line keeps getting better and better.
Clever engineering but I still prefer MP-10
Or if you want a screen accurate one Magic Square and Transform Element for 1/3 the price
Yes
The colours in mp10 look the best. So vibrant, so alive.
Plus the semi realistic look of mp10 is just superior in my opinion.
The Blueberry Pokémon yea I end up buying the TE01. Takara has gone bonkers with the price of their masterpiece figures I may sell my beast wars megs if a third party makes a better version.
Only true g1 fans will understand the starscream head
It’s from when the decepticons stole oil disguised as the autobots and starscream pulled off his optimus mask and his intakes pop out
For something called a masterpiece, they sure do suggest otherwise with all their remakes.
I remember when Gen 1 came out in 1985, kids said the optimus toy, which had less than 10 steps to transform, was way too complicated. Imagine what they would have thought of this
G1 came out in 84
Watching the transformation and the engineer(s) who designed this, one just can't help but think that "The line between genius and madness is inexistent!"
I think those effect parts could be used as energon swords *if* they came with detachable handles
Now about this figure: this prime does have a unique transformation, it has quite a few tricks i didn't expect
But his face plates are green instead of grey .-. What the primus riding a tiny bike.
41:11 "I've waited an eternity for this. It's over Prime."
Jesus Primus. Now I know why the price is so high. Just the transformation is so complex, maybe even more complex than MP G1 Megatron.
Edit: the added Starscream head raises the possibility of a MP Starscream 2.0. Takara Tomy...make it happen.
I believe you meant starscream 3.0
I think this is the best embodiment of G1 Prime, I absolutely adore this look and all of the features
People think Unicron is too expensive yet buy this thing with no hesitation.
I would think that it wouldn’t as bad as those that collect MP or 3rd party since the MP game is in the expensive side. But, for some those that only live the CHUG life had a rude awakening.

Ah, the boobies episode. (Yes, OP did say that there is video proof on RUclips)
Love the Megatron's Master Plan reference with the Starscream bits.
He doesn't say "Till all are one"? It's probably because they used Peter Cullen's lines from the Bay movies and the quote doesn't exist there, but it's unfortunate none the less.

You can’t retire MP10. He’s almost as iconic to this channel as mascot!
You may be right about that, but the only downfall about MP-10 is that it is not entirely cartoon accurate, despite being in the right scale.
While my engineering background applauds what they've been able to do in going from a toon accurate truck to a toon accurate bot, this is ridiculously over-engineered. Takara has gone completely overboard with the toon accuracy. I always looked to MPs for the toon/comic silhouette, but with the real-world deco and details, and this is why they're losing me more and more to 3P stuff. I'm more than happy with MP-10, not only for his (relatively) more direct transformation, but the truck-y kibble and non-hit on my bank account. Still, happy for those that this satisfies. And jealous of some of those trailer features!
Agreed on your opinion concerning Mp-10. That toy is the very definition of timeless.
The problem with MP-44 is that they had to add their stupid gimmicks like opening doors and a voice feature, which not only made the transformation more complex, but less accurate to the cartoon.
Yeah, in my opinion this is too toon accurate. I’m not the biggest fan, I love the g1 cartoon designs, but too see it as a 3D toy looks weird. I prefer mp10’s more realistic vehicle mode and more detailed robot mode. As of now I’m not sure I’d buy any of the newer masterpiece figures because of the cartoon aesthetic.
Just got my mp 44 today. Starting my collection all over. It's a beautiful work of art
It's a gorgeous figure, and it's awesome that it has all those accessories, but still not worth the high price. I agree that Transform Element Prime is the lead competition to show accuracy. TE-01's design maybe be more simple than MP-44, but it still looks great.
I think that I still prefer MP-10 for a couple of reasons. One, the vehicle mode looks too plain. There is no white stripe around the cab, and the trailer looks too dark, with no blue stripes through the white highlights. And Two, I would prefer that the backpack did not have the electronics, I would prefer to have the weapon storage done in the same way as it is for MP-10, seeing as the Ion-Blaster still has the fold up feature.
An absolutely incredible figure. Beautiful attention to detail, incredible engineering, and simplicity astounding presence. If it was $100 cheaper, I might have to bite the bullet and purchase it. As it stands, it’s just way too much money. Plus, I’m already pretty happy with my MP-10. Great review!

Its a beautiful figure, i love the cartoon design a lot....but the price point is absolutely unacceptable imo, i will never ever spend that king of money on a Transformers Masterpiece toy, its just insane and not worth it imo. Ffs, you can get a high quality Transformers figure from ThreeZero for half the price of this one!!
Edit: i never thought i would say this, but the more that i look at it, the more i think that the MP-10 is the better version of the 2!! Im really surprised because im a sucker for cartoon accuracy, but for some reason this one doesn't do it for me, its a beautiful figure but its missing something for me...

I love this overly complicated transformation. It looks satisfying
Eh, I still think MP 10 is the best Prime Takara has produced. Even today that Prime still looks great. But that's just my opinion.
Mine too. It's just perfect. This guy, while extremely complex, has a huge chunk of backpack that I just don't dig
I think this does a really, really good job of capturing the cartoon look, much better than MP-10. But MP-10 does SO MANY OTHER THINGS better. Not in the least its price...
Really the only appealing thing to me at this point for MP-10 is his price. And even that guy's too much and is beaten out by the new 3P options imo.
Knee makers: I think having the knees the same as the others is too simple...
Some random guy: well lets over complicate it then by doing THIS!
Knee makers: your hired
And that is how Takara lost their minds when they were being too fancy with the MP-44's knees! They should've left them as regular double-jointed knees and let us decide however we want to move the joints, hopefully they would correct that problem by starting a second production run of MP-44 and fix that knee problem.
11:04 That's a welder, not a gas pump. Nobody seems to know this. In Diaclone World, when the trailer is in repair bay mode (vertical), the claw arm uses it to repair the robot mech suit (Convoy/Optimus Prime).

@@ironthanos2190 Okay, nobody's perfect.
Just want to say that you walking through this _insanely_ complex Optimus Prime transformation in a single take, with no cuts or flubs, is impressive. Respect. ✊🤖
Emgo, as always, you’ve outshined yourself. Great review.
Impressive engineering, but for me MP10 looks better with fewer panel lines and a cleaner physique. Plus that price tag is uh... yeah.
This transformation is so overly complicated for no reason. Magic Square and Transform Elements look way better in both modes with much cleaner designs.
Whilst admittedly over-engineered in a few regards there is a reason why some aspects of the transformation are the way they are, Optimus in the cartoon does not rotate his waist or legs whilst transforming from cab to robot in spite of the fact that this is how basically every single figure of him has handled the transformation including previous MP iterations. Takara are so sringent about the whole cartoon accuracy thing that they wanted the figure to reflect the actual transformation as depicted on screen as much as possible, so the designers had to make an extremely complex workaround to ensure Prime's transformation involves no waist or leg rotation whatsoever whilst simaultenously maintaining the cartoon accuracy in as many other aspects of the figure as they could manage.
Even if you don't like the finished product I think the effort put into this figure by the designers is worth acknlowedging and appreciating. Even though it's completely trivial to like 99% of people the preservation of Prime's actual cartoon transformation really just shows how committed these people are and more over how much respect and admiration that they have for the character and the original source material.
@@pootisbear Plus? It's a toy that has to be both a cartoon accurate truck and a cartoon accurate robot and considering the cartoon was VERY prone to cheating its transformations due to being animation? Makes sense why this guy would unload some complex wizardry.
@@pootisbear MP10's transformation is way more cartoon accurate, even with the rotating hips. Did you forget that his gun comes out of his back?
They didn't keep a lot of things from that because the priority is a cartoon accurate robot mode texture.
@@pootisbear Agreed. This version of Optimus looks like he jumped right off the screen!
if the price keeps climbing, in addition to all the gimmicks seen here, 4.0 had better have a button-activated transform, that somehow looks just like the slo-mo in the movie where his hands slide seamlessly into his headlights, etc
It's nice, but MP-10 is still the best imo.
Why?

Glad to be of service :)
Imagine if you were part of the engineering team that had to design how this all came together
Wow the leg complexity
I can’t imagine how much of a sadist the design lead must be
Can you imagine if the G1 Prime was built like this back in the 80's, trying to transform him at the age of 7 years old? There would've been a lot of pissed off kids!! 🤣🤣 Man! It takes an hour to transform him! 😂😂Despite the complexity of transformation, this Prime has some awesome details. Only the Chinese have the patience and will power to design such elaborate toys.
As a power Rangers fan, I never realized just how lucky we were to have simple transforming sequences! O_o

Why would he? He only has like 2 primes (sarcasm)
Great review. Thanks for showing about the knees problem. Will be careful 👍
Finally! Thank you emgo, for giving us a review of this thing that’s actually quality lol. Like my man said, we don’t deserve you
Is it just me, or does MP-44 look kinda... cheap?
I get that they're going for show accuracy, and in that regard they did a great job, but the lack of detail and metallic paint just makes one of the most expensive Transformers figures look, ironically, like a cheap knock off.
Credit where credit's due: the engineering is absolutely phenomenal, but from an aesthetic standpoint, it's just missing something.
I think if they'd swapped the grey paint out for silver and picked out the eyes in metallic paint like they did for MP-36, I feel the figure would've looked A LOT nicer.
(Also MP-10 has a better head sculpt.)
(Just sayin'.)
It's why I can't my head around the people that were constantly screaming for cartoon Wheeljack with his MUCH worse lack of paint, sponsor less Smokescreen etc ... and as for plain red Inferno with his lack of detail compared to the beautiful Artfire, I just can't understand.
In general I've been dismayed at MP's direction lately
It looks to plastic!
At least MP44 does not look dead because of the colored eyes.
To be fair, they did kinda put effort into making it seem straight out of an inconsistently animated 80s cartoon. I guess a sort of a fireback at people screaming for g1 cartoon accuracy
Yow been waiting for your review on MP44
Awesome and extremely thorough review! I watched the whole video! Man, this Prime is PACKED with tons of accessories and features! Even though the transformation is pretty crazy, all the parts look perfectly whole and solid in the end. Kudos to the makers of this Prime because they seemed to have thought of EVERYTHING!
I definitely would love this, but at that price point, I'm sticking with my MP-1 Prime.
You got the tooch YOU GOT THE POWERRRRRR
Anyone remember that song?
I was singing The Touch while he was doing the transformation...and the many transformers G1 themes...and some quotes from Transformers The Movie.
No "rotate waist" step? ✅
Completely hidden tires in robot mode? ✅

Even after docking points for that last thing, I am proud to say that this figure is THE BEST G1 PRIME WE HAVE EVER GOTTEN!
Just kidding I didn't dock points, because since they don't store, they may not be included if they ever release him in the states.
10/10 would buy if I had the money and space for it.
This review is gonna determine if I decide to get this 😁I've been thinking about it, but I need a really good review 👍🏻
The Second ZedRies You misspelled “Transform Element Op”!
Honestly seems like a rip off to me, Takara must be making giant profit off this. I think MP-10 looks better.
@@zookdom3347 I love my MP-10, but the big thing about MP-44 is that cartoon accuracy, and I *really* like how posable this guy is. You can really do scenes from the movie as well. I grew up with G1 in the 80's, so that's a big nostalgia point for me.
get it from amazon japan, its around $350-$360 shipped. Better than paying $460 at bbts
@@zedries wish it was available
Starscream's head is surely for the Megartron's Master Plan scene when he is wearing the Optimus disguise, and he takes off the Prime Mask. 'This mask would fool Pime's own creator'.
See, every reviewer I’ve seen who has this guy is like “I’ve heard of the problems, but I don’t have that problem”, which makes me scared that whenever I inevitably get him, mines gonna have a problem straight out of the box
Awesome video, thanks so much for great transformation instructions...I’d never have made it through without your Masterpiece wisdom! 😁👍
