This was amazing, the only problem is that it is expensive (for me). Megatrons legs look good, unlike the first masterpiece. Good review that covers everything in less than 30 minutes unlike optibotimus.

Nice review as always. Being Irish I quickly noticed the word 'shite' in the soundbite translations.
Obviously it means something different in Japanese but it's a swear word here in Ireland so I found it funny.

Love the review. MP-36 is definitely the best Megatron figure I've seen. The price point is steep, sure, but for the pure quality, it seems worth it. Keep up the great work! :D

The "under arm" position for the gun barrel you mention at the 11:15 mark is not so much a nod to the toy (where the gun barrel is down on the inside of his right hip), but a reference to the cartoon episode "Heavy Metal War", where Megatron actually flips the gun barrel under his arm like that to fire on Oprimus Prime.
Wow I just now noticed when you did the Mp-36 to MP-10 size comparison, it looks like Megatron is standing on his tiptoes for height. O_o
The reason Megatron’s alt mode gets a pass is because there isn’t nearly as many lines and it doesn’t look like a 4 year old broke 4-8 toy cars and than glued them all patchworked together so his dad wouldn’t get mad at him.
Not many people like MP-36 G1 Megatron because he is really fiddly. I look forward for TakaraTomy to make a Masterpiece G1 Megatron that does not transform at all. And by that, I mean a separate cartoon-accurate robot mode that does not transform and a separate cartoon-accurate gun mode that does not transform. It can be a Masterpiece G1 Megatron 2-pack featuring Robot Mode Masterpiece G1 Megatron and Gun Mode Masterpiece G1 Megatron. Makes sense, right?

I wanted to let you know that it would be worth it for you to get the MP36 Head upgrade kit..it comes with 5 more faces, and lights for his eyes..looks really sweet, and adds even more nostalgia...i got mine from Toy Dojo..model number is: MOD-001..and it's not expensive at all bro!! Danny Vestal correction, comes with 1 more face and 4 of the original faces remade to be compatible with the new led eyes. Stil cool though
I almost ALMOST didn't get this guy. I was happy with Apollyon and I grabbed Mightron during a box-damage sale. Then I saw how well MP-36 was. I figured I'd at least grab him, and if I didn't like him, sell him off for a small loss. Needless to say, I've had him for over a month now, and he easily challenges Fanstoys' Grinder and Phoenix as my favorite Transforming toy. Yes, he has his flaws, but his poseability and how much attention to detail Takara paid with the sculpting and accessories... Needless to say, as much as I liked Mightron and Apollyon... They're somewhere in storage.

As for the figure...ehh. I wound up gettin' the Infinite Transformation KO. A couple of the pins are too short and tend to fall out (the one that connects the gun mode safety latch and the one that literally holds the left foot together at the toe hinge), but this thing is otherwise awesomesaucity and amazeballs. The biggest edge I can say it has over MP36 is that the metallic gray paint that Infinite Transformation/Black Mamba chose to use is a type that simply doesn't chip!! But...I still wouldn't call this my favorite MP scaled figure (yeah, nobody's dethroning MP24 Starsaber. Ever. Especially when Soundwave couldn't do it. 😏😏😏).
Glad this video can entertain all these years later. I'm quite proud of the prime team skit hahaha

I would be perfectly happy if Studio 86 Megatron was this but he didn't transform. Just have him as a 30k MOQ pulse exclusive with a reissue time slot set aside for a second run of 20K more a few months later. Give him his back cannon and his silencer turret / stand, probably his mace and handheld P38 and I'd be happy. I'd also probably be perfectly happy if Missinglink had to do that as a concession as well. He'd still look pretty damn good where it counts.

The ball n chain weapon is in fact a weapon that megatron did have. He used it in the g1 cartoons.

The Lazy Eyebrow Reviewer My main reason for liking it comes from the fact that, be it intentional or not, kinda is a call back to Astrotrain's G1 bio. His bio talks about how he longs to be more involved in combat like his fellow Decepticons. So this time around, his train mode is altered to be a futuristic war train, and his shuttle mode is given small cannons for those aerial dogfights. All the while being a well built G1 inspired update of everyone's favorite triple changer.
