olimar canonically has shoulder joint pains, which is explained in the sales pitch for the rocket fists. the fast that he somehow can throw pikmin every frame in every game without repercussions is a miracle.
Capturing raiders, imprisoning them, harvesting their organs to sell, then finally butchering them to eat, all while making them perform slave labor, is way more brutal.
I love how anytime there's a problem in Pikmin 1, the solution is 90% of the time "take a nap" or " Multiple war crime against the Pikmin species" Oh and this video taught me that the blue Pikmin saving drowning Pikmins wasn't only a Pikmin 2 thing BreadBug

i think it works because if it was like "how many throws" you'd say "idk like 40? it's probably not interesting" and skip. But by saying 3, now you need to know how they managed it. "How many throws" isn't an interesting question "How did I do it in 3" is incredibly interesting
Oatchi is 100% a good boi, but I never wanna see his mug ever again in a Pikmin game outside of maybe side modes or post-game content. I play Pikmin to solve problems and overcome adversity using my army of carrot minions, not to steamroll giant evolutionary monstrosities using a doggo.
It's like when someone finds a new cheese/setup for a boss in a Dark Souls no-hit run. Only saves the runner maybe 5 minutes and it's the coolest shit ever anyways.
I've never played so forgive me if this is a dumb thought entirely... but could blue pikmin with their lifeguard mechanic throw pikmin AND have them latch onto a flying enemy? if so that could bring it down to 2 but I feel like that's a pretty big if either way, always love breaking games down more and more as time goes, and if this is truly where this stays for the rest of time, it's still impressive it got this low!
Ngl if this ends up being possible, and thought of by a non-player instead of speedrunners/challenge masters, I'll be really amused. It's always amazing when someone can figure something out just by having an outside perspective. Human brains are so fascinating.
7:24 “The Blue Pikmin throw the Red Pikmin and we get the part without any throws.” I get that it’s within the rules of the challenge, but the statement was funny to me. 15:28 “That seems possible, right?” Absolutely. The way you've smashed these games are crazy. "Can you beat Pikmin while ignoring most game design and mechanics? Unfortunately we start this challenge by having to touch the controller..."

Based on the explanation is for the puffy blowhog, it’s pretty much a game of tug of war The blowhog wants to go to its home so it stops attacking and leaves Then it gets hit so it returns Before it can attack, it’s already back to leaving The blowhog just says “IM GONNA KILL YOU- nvm I’m tired- IM GONNA KILL YOU- did I leave the oven on?”
1:19 Dan saw the response on his last video about not being able to like the video because Louie isn't human and said, "Ok, let's really make it impossible to like the video...and maybe get some bricks through my windows while I'm at it."
Excellent work! The only thing I can think of that MIGHT reduce the number further is if there were a way to somehow lead Beady out of its arena and into the bottomless pit on the other side of the Forest Navel and kill it that way, but even if that were possible, I'm not sure if it would actually result in the Guard Satellite being obtainable afterwards. Beady might just respawn the next day like nothing happened, forcing you to kill it like normal, or worse, the Guard Satellite might not respawn *period.*
An idea I just thought of to possibly reduce throws: if the enemies holding the treasures go out of bound, do the treasures just spawn in the overworld? Cause I know that happens in Pikmin 2
My only issue is the moon jump one, just because last time you were so convinced it wasn't possible, that I kinda wish we saw a way of proving it can happen, like you did with beady
15:23 Shiny Hunters eat your heart out, that's a one in 1,099,511,627,776, or the chances of catching 134,217,728 full odds shiny Pokemon. Back to back.
I went oh no as soon as I heard how many times you had to win the coin toss I didn't know the exact number but when you've got to succeed something a lot of times in a row things get unlikely real fast
@InspectorGadget923 Fun fact, in Dutch the word for "second to last" is "een-na-laatste" which literally means "one after last". "twee-na-laatste" = third to last "Twee" of course meaning two.
I don't remember if this was ever tested in the original video, but for Beady, could it be possible to damage him with bomb rocks in the level by grabbing a ton of yellows, huddle under him, and at the last stomp before they dip down, have him crush one of the pikmin to cause a chain reaction. Could the bomb explosion reach him?
So I'm guessing the claim that the bomb rocks can spawn in the lower area is based on examining the code or something the seeing the spawn range of the bomb rocks? Something like that? I would just be concerned that, since no one has ever recorded it happening that even if the code shows it can spawn down there that there might be more code somewhere else that does invalidate that as a spawning location. So, I'm not entirely convinced that's legitimate. But even if it's not, that only shaved off three throws. So if that isn't possible it just means that the minimum throws is 6 rather than 3, which is still WAY lower than the previous 35.
I really REALLY gotta give you a huge pat on the back man cuz i'm gonna be entirely honest with you I would NOT have the patience to do ANY of these challenges that you do in these videos. I would give up after a glitch/trick doesn't work after like 3 resets MAX
Just a dumb question. If you use a moon jump cheat to get up where the bomb rock is, why knock it off to use to get up there again? You're already up there. Just continue without knocking the bomb rock down.
I believe it's because the moon jump cheat isn't an exploit or glitch like the other techniques. It's something straight up impossible in the base game. So it was used just to show that if the bomb were down there you wouldn't have to cheat to get up there. But if you allowed cheats generally you could just, like, console command kill the three enemies that take throws and bring it down to zero. Or even just teleport every part to start right next to your ship.
Could anyone help me figure out what the ost at 13:44 is? I know it and it's gonna drive me crazy that I can't remember what from. Great video by the way. It must take hours to figure this kinda thing out.
I have to be honest - this is maybe the third or fourth time I've heard about the bomb rock spawning on the lower floor super, super, super rarely, but I won't believe it until I see it in a legitimate copy of the game. The reason I'm so suspicious about this is that certain things, especially in Pikmin 1, that have been treated as "extremely rare" glitches later turned out to be total hoaxes. For YEARS, it was just accepted as a fact that there is an extremely rare glitch of Beady leaving the arena you fight him in. What's our proof? Well, you know, it's just one of those things you KNOW! Until the time came it was exposed as just having been made up So I'm suspicious of this rare bomb rock glitch in Final Trial actually being a thing or not, or just something somebody once bullshitted for clout
20:26 Sample actually managed to get that spawn in his "Pikmin 1 Without Making Pikmin" video: ruclips.net/video/aqmcPaEEH6M/видео.html at 57 minutes in.
