I got ton of Flak for saying to people to *not get our expectations up too high regarding the weapons designs before get the game.* If you want to throw hate, do it *properly... Know context...* I *didn't* "force" people either. I *only replied* to the poster to *maybe reserve the comment,* since it might age like milk. Regardless how *you interpret it,* it's not my intention. That's not my fault nor problem. So stop putting words in my mouth.
Now Dual Blades Trailer dropped during the edit of this comment. It showed us the Bone Blade. Before that, there was already the Long Sword's Bone Longsword, *with monster parts on it.* The Longsword Bone Blade had *monster parts stapled on it.* Those designs will be in the game, but not as terrible as MH:World.

Might be a little too early to judge. We haven't seen the entire game, after all. They could just cherry picking the good designs but what do I know. Let's keep the *expectations tempered(?).* I am so hyped as well but let's reserve that kind of comment after we see the game.

@Dastardly_Duo It's definitely not. They tend to keep designs the same through out games, and that's definitely not Raknas CB or armor. So unless they decided to change how they've always done returning monsters...Thats a new Spider, or a weapon that just has a web as its design.

@@Lunk42 Yasunori Ichinose is the director of MHGen and MHRise. Given how dirty CB was dealt with in those games, it is safe to say he has an agenda against CB. It is fine, so long as he stays directing spinoff titles while Yuya Tokuda (who was part of the crew of MH4 and MH4U) directs the main titles.

Not true. There's some changes and new ones.
1. [00:30] - Forward attack with Phials. We had this before but no Phials. That can be considered "new" technically.
2. [00:43] - New attack from AED. A new type of Roundhouse AED slash.
3. [01:00] - Focus Mode attack - Technically new, despite other weapons also getting it.
4. [01:10] - New Focus Slash attack as well(?) Probably an attack that immediately charges Phials to max.
5. [01:12] - This one is not new however. This is from Point 2. Roundhouse AED slash, into SAED. The new thing is, we can combo from AED, into Roundhouse AED, into SAED.
6. [01:00] - Focus Mode Shield. We move faster here in comparison back in World/Rise. Courtesy of @BadEnd98 for pointing that out.
But hey, that's just me watching the video. I'm no rocket scientist.
One small thing I'm really liking is the metallic singing and clangs that the weapons seem to make in this game. It helps convey their weight, sharpness, and sturdiness when you're not even hitting anything.

@@vidmanandrew09 That's what I was wondering too, because steel weapons made the same ground impact sounds as bone. There was some slight difference between hit and swing sounds but nothing stark like this.

Valor CB in MHGU had a 4th move in the combo, but it followed the 2nd move and looped into it, while the elemental discharge was moved to strictly X+A. This is a completely new followup.
I wonder if the aed has an infinite combo loop now :o

Pretty sure the phial combo extender at 0:43 is the same one used at 1:13, which means we can go from AED into Phial combo into SAED and that sounds satisfying af.

as a charge blade main , the game changing changes in Charge blade can be seen here, after AED there's a follow up swing that could prevent you from defaultly morphing back to sword mode which could mean you can follow up with another swing looping back and forth, with that follow up , you can now chain from AED to follow up swing and then SAED completing the flow, the focus mode attack seems reminiscent of the MHGU's hunter art Ripper Shield
Yeah, it's going to be nice to be able to use AED for more than just sniping KO's and cancelling SAED's that aren't going to hit.
That said, this may be them moving away from SAED spam, which means SAED might not be hitting as hard this go around in order to force the use of other options.
Though, as a Charge Blade main, I will never complain about having even more options lol

The combo flow in axe mode is going to be absolutely insane.
Two other things
It looks like charging your blade attack blocks at the same time.
The counter from guard point is not aed or saed. Unread a sweeping attack. Which means you don't need to be perfectly in front.
Savage Axe being part of the Focus Strike moveset is so amazing, and looks like they're continuing the theme of making the weapons combo smoother into other attacks.
Not "savage axe". That's literally the Shield Ripper hunter art from GU, after the it ends it will go back to Sns mode like GU as well it seems

Literally how savage axe in iceborn works where you don't need start each axe combo without activation move. So it more probably savage axe from iceborn where you activate spinning once it will remain while philes last.

@@Deamonder_ Ragna Kadaki armor was similar to a bride dress, just like the armor in this trailer.
Nercilla on the other hand used to have a full armor with a carapace design, also Nercilla weapons were more high tech with the web patterns looking more like straight lines.
So if I were to put money on one of the two it would be Ragna Kadaki.

monster hunter worlds was my first MH game and charge blade was the weapon I chose not knowing it was one of the more difficult weapons to use. I remember continually learning new moves with it. Now can’t wait to pick it up again.
just go to the training area as all beginning hunters should to get a feel for their weapon other than just winging it and spamming the same simple combos through an entire playthrough. your gonna see someone else do something entirely different and your gonna be in awe for not using such a weapon at its max potential
The armor and weapon designs are not just fantastic. But also the sounds, those beautiful metallic sounds. It is a good thing I decided to learn all the weapons, because I've been eating good with every single weapon showcase video.

@@ECI5858 There's some sort of spark from the arm not holding the blade before it goes into the follow up. Not sure what that's about.
But having something to do after AED besides converts to SnS mode is very cool.

Also, the follow up after AED looks like the same move they do right before the SAED later on

So glad the savage axe chainsaw mode made it's return, arguably some of the most fun I had with the CB in Iceborne and Rise!!!

Savage axe is super boring in iceborne : upward slash, downward slash -> rinse and repeat otherwise you use phials and have to charge back phials AND savage axe mode
The axe mode needs a lot more moves that don't use phials
@@jeanmahmoudventilateur3480 I mean, if you paid attention it's much more than just 2 swings. Just like in Rise you can actually hold your Axe in place while letting the blade spin.
That, and the axe has new moves that lead into AED and SAED. And I highly doubt this is all of it. CB has always been "create phials, store them, unleash them with the axe." I'll take savage axe any time of day over "SAED" spam that base world was known for.

The first weapon that "clicked" for me when i was learning how to play MH. It's reliable and usually my first starting weapon before unlocking gunlance equipment

I have never played a monster Hunter game, but i'm mega hyped for this game based on all the weapon trailers we've gotten so far. They're all so creative and have so much variation, I wanna try absolutely all of them

i'd give monster hunter rise a go too, as long as you get the DLC for it; it's really slept on and faster-paced than world, and it's very frequently on sale for huge discounts in my experience

When this weapon came out in 4, i instantly fell in love with it. The mechanics of it, animation, fluidity, all of it. Its the whole fucking package, stun, cut, elemental. empty vials popping out just like ammo casings, chef's kiss!

-Sword Charged
-Shield Charged
-Axe Charged
But they didn't show the axe charge-up (i.e. Savage Axe Mode) but depicted the spinning axe head during the Focus Strike scene
My guess: they simply didn't want the video to be 5 minutes long and so by necessity; they didn't show some parts of the weapon lol
You can see a transition to Savage Axe mode after a Guard Point at 1:08
The same we had on Iceborne (Guard Point => SAED or AED => Canceling into Savage Axe mode)

@@rustygear447 yeah plus it's unknown whether the block was a guard point. i did not notice any guard point indicators, so it's up in the air if there is just no visual feedback or they're getting rid of them. then about the transition to SA, it seems the SA was already active before morphing. so no - we don't see the transition into SA there, and we see no cancel in the clip roland mentions.
@@killazaawl the shield glows white on block so it's probably a guard point, but it doesn't come out of any attack move like normal; it looks similar to advancing guard move on Lance. Seems to be what happens when you block in focus mode.
Seems like every melee weapon is getting some variation of the 'GIGA DRILL BREAKER!!!/SPIN-TO-WIN/PIZZA CUTTA!!!' and I'm all for it. Spinning is WINNING!

The ONLY gripe I have, is that if that was the saed at the end, it did not nearly look as big and intense like they did in world
That's what I've been saying since the first trailer. All the weapons so far lack impact to me it's not nearly as spectacular as what we were used to. Especially with big weapons like CB et GS.
they might be trying to move away from SAED spam by making it less the focus. Or the move before may use a phial or two which could explain why the SAED looks smaller since its not fully charged
I'm glad someone else pointed it out. I'm hoping the reason is it's not a fully phialed up saed or something. Tbh it looked really pathetic :( the Moveset looked good though

@mystr0696, it's possible, I guess, because they showcased raknas charge blade in the Rise Demo. But this one has a very different design to the keyboard/gate thing the last one had going on. So my guess is either a new temnoceran or some other string producing monster.

Seeing the 3 HUD elements for Sword, Shield and Axe tells me we might see Buzzsaw returning as a proper mode, a la Iceborne style. Or there's a new way to charge the Axe, which would be interesting. Also, love the new Temnoceran armor/weapon. I wonder if its a new Temnoceran or a redesign of Nerscylla's gear. I assume a new one. Hopefully wilds is the MH of Variety again, with neopterons, leviathans, carapaceons and amphibians, on top of all the wyverns and beasts. We could be looking at almost a GU sized roster, which would be insane.
If you rewatch the later half of the video you can see the axe head spinning whilst doing normal attacks, and considering the axe now has its own icon we're probably in luck for it being a real, usable, mode instead of having to activate Savage Axe EVERY. DAMNED. TIME.
i hope we get savage axe as a mode, and not only for focus mode.

Gu sized is pretty much impossible. They don't have enough recyclable assets to do that
Gu cheated by using models from the psp era. Capcom still needs to build up its assist library again
The guard point SFX sounds awesome. and i like the extra movements and the way the blade swings around the body when SADing.

@@kingdomheartsfan3002 it could be rakna but they don't usually change designs to such a degree. Raknas charge blade had a pretty distinctive look. Also, double-checked to be sure, and it's completely different to nerscyllas CB as we.

I knew it! I had a feeling Charge Blade is the one that's going to be shown today. That armor and CB look amazing! Every new move here flows perfectly. And I love how there are more incentives in using axe mode and switching to it in between attacks. I am so excited!

I'm a charge blade main ever since my first MH game which was 4 ultimate. I love to use other weapons every now and again for variety and fun, but charge blade will always be my go to for a tough hunt

Its possible that animation might depend on how much phials you have. Hoping that we'll have that world's crunchy SAED animation again.

I'm not sure who viewed this. However, the hit's minute detail also aligns with the direction that the phial charge shock appears to be traveling in. This will be an incredible game.
Oh no the full discharge looked kinda limb, I was hoping for world's huge explosion, or maybe that wasn't a full discharge.

CB GANG!!! Pizza cutter and charged sword at the same time is back as well. I just hope they adjusted the speed a bit. We will see next year!
Amen to that. Slowing the whole thing down just to make you take a skill that gets it back to normal speed suuuuuuucked.
I mean, I learned to deal with the slowness but I'd really rather not go back to "Charge Blade but you're in a pool of Jello".
We will likely find out in a week or so when people get their hands on the demo. Shouldn't have to wait til next year. May even get to see our selves if the public demo drops soon after.
