The monkeys are very guilty of this, especially congalala seeing this fat monkey just eject into the stratosphere to move into the zone that is 10 meters away
@@KoongYe The first one I played was monster hunter 1 and i can categorically say that is not my favourite, actually made me quit the series until a few years later lol
@@Croyles same. Bought mh1 and got to the gravious. I played the PSP one that brought in nargacouga. Hated the game flow of the series til generations.
@@tflees i love the game but damn wish they had the quality of life improvements from the later games. Its so annoying when im fighting monsters and another monster enters the zone, also sucks how every thing, everything just wants to kill you even when your in the middle of a battle with the main monster lol
@@sukiyomie ... Do you know what a dung bomb is? Even World makes you use them to save your ass in this scenario. Rise just messed up and made two monsters on the same screen rarely a threat.
@@JeanKP14 I always eat the food that activates the potency of the dung bomb, since some monsters just take too long to leave the map, even if I use 3 dungs on them. With the food skill, just 1 is enough for it to leave. lol Damn, I really need to play 4U again with my friend again.
@@sukiyomie Don't really care about that problem, never been much of a problem for me, but would absolutely love being able to hold a button to continue gathering, being able to move in any direction (rather than clunky 8-directional movement), not needing to bring picks and bug nets with me, and all multiplayer quests being tuned to the number of players participating. I was able to complete most of the multiplayer quests solo, but holy crap, at least if you run SnS (my preferred weapon), some of the later ones are nearly impossible just because you can't get your DPS high enough to kill within the time limit, no matter how aggressive you are. Otherwise, other than wishing it was on other systems, there's not much I'd change about 4U. My all time favorite.
GU is the peak of the classic, the culmination of gen 1 through gen 4, you cannot say that classic is better than the modern one and vice versa, they are just different, the classics ends with generations ultimate, and they go out with a bang, the name itself "Generations Ultimate" is pretty fitting tbh Gen 5 and onward is the new era of Monster Hunter the natural evolution of the game i always think to myself that gen 5 onward is the spiritual successor to the classic era, if there's ever gonna be another new era of monster hunter in the future, i hope that the modern games can also give us a final game like GU
I agree, however I really wish they would give us another classic styled MH game. The more arcadey Gen 5+ and slower paced, preparation-oriented artful Gen 1-4 can run in parallel. Something like mainline Pokemon games and the new Legends series.
13:58 that moment you get hit by plesioth so hard you just teleport to camp Also you didn't cover the most goofy and fun "weapon" in the game and that is the prowler playing as the cat to support and do some weird crazy attacks especially online is so much fun, not only that but prowler has SO MUCH customization its almost as much as the weapons themselves making it a weapon on its own
@@fredrickwheeler6852 i know GU actually fixed plesioth hitboxes and kept the original hitbox as a wind pressure only "well 3u did too but GU did it better"... These are the FIXED hitboxes
One of the other great lessons Great Maccao teaches is about "danger zones" or, zones around the monster you want to avoid being in because they can attack you faster than you can react and avoid. With Maccao, it's those little tiny kicks. They won't kill you, just be annoying enough for you to realize "shoot, I should stop being right in front of this guy". Another lesson is something that leads right into Valstrax, and that is stance changing. Maccao on its tail and on its feet has access to different attacks, and you can adjust your play style based on that. Similarly, Valstrax does different attacks based on whether its engines are faced forwards or backwards, and you can similarly approach him differently based on which stance he is in.
@@hotramen5936 Fiver attempting to downplay old MH monster design will never get old. Tell me how the Great Jagras does this...oh wait you cant. Its a complete meat puppet.
@@JayceCH. who are these so called "fivers" that downplay old gen MH, take a second to think about what youre reading. My intent was not to downplay maccao, but to bring up the fact that this is something that so many other games, even those outside of the action rpg genre, teach. Please think straight and be more welcoming to newer players regardless of what their first MH game is instead of having a schizo moment over people who dont exist. said "fivers" would find all mh games fun if given the chance to experience them. Smart talk aside. Nah, great jagras wins 🚬💀
same here, I was looking into emulating the psp games when I thought to myself, wait is there a more modern version of this? At the time I didn't think my pc could handle World so I wrote it off completely and got myself a Switch and fell in love with the series once again..
It absolutely doesn't require loading screens to get that perception of scale. Just a simple zoom-out fade-out as the character starts walking a path... then cinematically coming back in. Maybe a couple times with an intermediate zone looking down. Just like how thick vines / fast travel works in World, there's a cinematic entrance to the zone via wingdrake before you regain control. Also allows much more interesting terrain and set pieces when not everything needs to be walkable.
I think Ahtal Ka can perfectly be summed like this. Style AND Substance. It's an absolute spectacle of a battle that's actually fantastic to play through. Without Iceborne, I honestly feel Base World suffered greatly from Style over Substance. 2 of the biggest fights in the game, Zorah Magdaros and Xenojiiva are just overgrown punching bags that are nice to look at.
SO glad someone finally decided to talk about how the limitations loading zones actually enhance the atmosphere of classic monhun maps. I love GU so, so much.
@@NineToFiveGamerUC0079I remember played GU and just spend 10 minutes finding monster that keep flying through zones after painball effect is expired and that pissed me off like wtf. Also glad that is gone lol
That bit at the first part about Valstrax's nest height could be possible in rise, maybe through like a 20 second long massive great wire-bug pull, which would totally be badass.
4U is the best one imo, very cold take I know, but it’s just the most well rounded game overall. Didn’t experiment or introduce any crazy new concepts, just doubled down on what worked and greatly succeeded at it. I generally prefer GU for its combat, monster roster and map selection but it probably has the worst grind loops in the series. G-rank hypers don’t feel playtested. I feel like MHWI could have easily been the best if it had just streamlined less mechanics, avoided the live-service approach to prevent monster and weapon power creep and patch out the clutch claw/claggers entirely.
Strongly agree, I think 4U is the best balanced of any MH from roster, to story, to equipment, etc. The hardest content felt insanely hard (GQ 140 Shagaru Magala demolished me and my hunting buddies) but also completely doable with enough preparation and practice
What do you mean it didn’t experiment or try any new concepts? 4U had a lot of new mechanics that weren’t seen in the series up until its release. Things like mounting, frenzy and apex monsters, GQ leveling system and even weapon augmentation was introduced in 4U so to say that it just stuck with what worked it doing it a disservice tbh.
@@The_Mewster69 Perhaps I should have clarified that it didn’t wholly revolutionise the real-time gameplay like previous games did. Mounting was like the biggest thing to come out of the game in that regard and I wouldn’t necessarily say that it shook up the formula as much as underwater, the slinger, or wirebugs did for their respective titles.
@@lonradb Sure it didn’t revolutionize the series much in terms of combat or anything but it still introduced some major mechanics that pretty much have become staples since. The Frenzy/Apex mechanic is pretty much the reason we’ve had hypers, tempered, afflicted and whatever powered up state Wilds may introduce. This alone pretty much makes it one of the games in the franchise with a huge impact to how the rest of the series would develop and I think it’s important to keep in mind the effect of mechanisms like these and how they affect the game and not just weapon move set changes.
@@lonradb the way 4U played with elevation was pretty huge, it may not seem like a big deal for people now because of how standardized it's become, but the old Tigrex chase trailer (not the CG intro, but the old MH4 original trailer) depicted a level of player movement that seemed absurd for people only used to 3rd gen games.
I'm surprised you didn't bring up the even most unique thing about GU... You can play as your Palico, known as Prowler. I know people who would pick up MHGU just to play as a Kitty Cat. Otherwise, great video.
Making the maps divided into loading screens creates the feeling of a much bigger world, ironically. You can let to your imagination the time it takes for the hunter to move into each area, and the distance too. The deserted island feels way smaller in Sunbreak than in the classic games, everything is so crammed.
Sunbreak in general feels small. World is the only MH game where everything actually truly feels to scale. The weapons, the monsters, the local, the hub. It's genuinely perfect!!
Loading screens also suck. Especially when your hit through one mid fight and must now go through 2 just to get back. Let alone chasing a flying monster, so many screens
Fuck I couldn't recognize it, I was so distracted by the fact I couldn't recognize it that I wasn't even paying attention to the video. Can't believe I'm a fake fan
I am super happy that you mentioned how you felt about the map design and world building in the old games. I feel the same way for exactly the same reasons. It is the reason i fell I love with the monster hunter games. The world that is not fully shown but hinted at, for your to imagine.
Another thing not mentioned that makes Maccao the best starting monster is that it teaches the player about sharpness the best. Even after an upgrade or two, you are very likely to dip into orange (or even red if you absolutely refuse to sharpen), and this even happens in the tutorial arena fights. Maccao also has parts that will bounce if you're at orange, something other starter monsters don't really do.
I think Buldrome can make you bounce on his horns, but most of his body is belly and ass, and you're most likely NOT wanting to be in front of a Buldrome to begin with.
@@Hambs23 yeah, but bulldrome is also a monster that exists purely to haunt the nightmares of experienced hunters. Seriously, the thing is the definition of easy but frustrating. And they knew what they were doing on deviant quest 7 when they make you fight a bulldrome and the deviant in a small arena. Absolutely diabolical lmao. I haven't played generations in like 6 years, and somehow I still remember it was quest VII...
I gotta say, I love the theming of the first part of the video. The sense of wonder and imagination that some media evokes makes them feel so special. So many of my favorite games and books, either from my childhood or that I've experienced in recent years, activated that part of my brain and became so dear to me because of it. They're not just fun or moving but feel like they somehow transcend fiction . . . whatever that even means. and also hearing about the combat and monsters in these games makes me want to play Monster Hunter. Don't know if I ever will, but it sure seems so cool.
Another great thing that Great Maccao teaches new players is the value of breaking parts. If you break Great Maccao’s tail, he will fall over when he tries to balance on it later. I couldn’t agree more that it’s easily the best starting monster when it comes to teaching game mechanics.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is regarded to be the best 'old'-world Monster Hunter game, but Mhgu remains the more accessible one If it wasnt for the 3ds, I'd say Mh4u is way more beginner-friendly
The simplicity of Tri and 3U is unmatched. They didn't need an elaborate story, nor need the biggest roster. Because Tri and 3U lack a fleshed out elaborate story, they remain more timeless than 4U as time goes on. MH is heading into a more story driven focus and as time goes on, players may want to return to a game where the story isn't "in your face"
Nakarkos truly is one of the most brilliant monsters ever made. It does the EXACT same thing that we hunters do. It hunts other monsters, and uses their parts to create new weapons for itself; so it can hunt ever larger and ever stronger prey to gain newer, stronger weapons. I love it so much.
I took a completely new player with me along for a replay of MHGU over the last year. we've beaten the Mantis and are working on prep to take him through the fatalis trio. I bought it for him because I wanted him to experience pre-5th gen first and he's having a great time.
One thing i really miss about GU as well is the 4 villages you visit, i really liked that i could set my home base between 4 diferent villages and that all 4 had different hunting areas and questlines asigned to them it basicly felt like 4 MH games in 1. Not to mention that the sheer number of 93 large monsters is the most we have ever seen in a monster hunter game. Sunbreak has 78 and iceborn has 71, which as a byproduct also caused a bigger variety of weaopons and designs. When i played World for the first time i of course really enjoyed it and had a lot of fun but i did miss a bit in variety of weapon designs.
@@Ghostgate611 Sunbreak > GU Wrong. GU is easy. Monsters are just slapped into the game without caring about clipping etc... its way too easy to just maneuver out of the way and straight up ignore attacks with Styles allowing special dodges or counters. Sunbreak is full of monsters who take a shit all over the deviants which I really love btw, they are some of my fav monsters. Hazard quests are 10,000x harder than deviants LOL and Special Investigations (anomaly) are a lot more engaging than the deviant grind. Rise even though its a base game, was more fun to grind than deviants as well, rampage weapons changed the MH base game because you could craft weapons. Deviant equipment sits in your box and never gets used. Rampage weapons get used a lot. I love the deviants, but the grind is booty. REengine, has allowed the devs to get a lot better at creating tighter hitboxes and monster skeletons, which means you the hunter, have to be a lot more precise with your timings. Even with counters etc... youre more limited than what styles allowed. Monsters AI is improved as well, GU doesnt even come close to Sunbreak, in terms of monsters reacting to you the hunter. Risebreak, was built from the ground up to improve the fluidity of combat, GU was just slapping monsters into a game to celebrate. Theres a massive difference between the two.
I think what makes GU so good especially if you played the older games was it is like a classic monster hunter mix tape of all the best that classic monster hunter has to offer then mix in that it had the most customizable play styles of any monster hunter game and had that elusive 15th weapon (RIP prowler) and you have a seriously great game that really is a love letter to all the OG hunters. It was the last hurrah of the classic monster hunter and it really did go out with a bang. All that said I do still love world and rise just the way they are.
At 4:55 when you said that's not why you play Monster Hunter when it comes to the unique imaginative zones, I personally would say that THAT is half the reason why I play Monster Hunter, because part of hunting is to step into the world of that monster, where it lives, so the way the maps are designed add to the personality of the monster and the surrounding habitats it inhabits. I've always loved the various set pieces that the maps of the old games provided. World and Rise have some good areas, but overall they don't come close to the classics.
World by nature of having more detail allowed for a better immersion into a monsters habbitats. Like 4u is my favorite monster hunter game (followed by 3) but I can admit that rise and world are both just better. The hardware diff alone settles it
@@magellan6439 World did good when it came to individual monster habitats, but because the areas you hunted in were conceptually smaller than the older ones, it felt like you were hunting the monster in a tiny part of a much bigger landscape than an actually massive hunting ground. The split areas with loading screens helped sell that idea for me in the older titles. Basically, it's impossible to replicate the feeling of climbing a giant mountain with seamless maps because everything has to be contained within walking distance.
What I enjoy the most about Hunting styles is that Adept and Valor style enable a switchaxe playstyle where I don't use sword mode, which I appreciate because Gore Magalas Switchaxe in Axe mode is objectively the best designed weapon and kinda my signature weapon.
I think that we can still recreate that feeling of distance or height in the new MHs. Take for example Elden Ring: you can technically see the Mountain Tops of the Giants from Limgrave, the very first area, but only its cliff. Then, once you are there, the change in the skybox an the sea of clouds below make it seem like you are in a higher area.
@@hive_of_bees I'm interested to see if Wilds is some kind of wild (ha) hybrid fusion of World/Rise's style and the Old Style of the games. The map that we've seen so far seems more open, more vast and varied and interesting, but I'm concerned that certain landmarks that we can see (Like the funny stone circle that gets shown off a lot) won't be areas we can actually go to. The Seikret being so woven into the game as a core feature unlike the Motor Bike Doggos also seems interesting, like the vibe could be a lot more... wild (ha) west-y, and the last time we had that was Monster Hunter 4/4G, so I'm excited to see Wilds and I hope the team takes all the time they need to make it as good as they can.
I NEVER had any want or interest in playing great sword until I played gu. I fell in love with aerial great sword, and have been chasing that fun factor ever since. The fast charges while in the air but also my favorite monsters' gear boosting the damage as well as every aspect of the build also helped.
Fun is the key word. GU is just pure entertainment, it's not a bragging right challenge, it's a fun challenge. Aerial GS was so so easy and spammable, but god I miss it 😂
I stopped playing GU early into high rank back in 2018 just cause I burnt myself out. Got into World recently, and have been pressing into Freedom Unite when I can't play World... But this video reminds me that I really ought to get back onto GU. Thanks man!
The biggest reason why world was / is the most selled mh game is "Noobfriendly changes" I played every MH game on PSP, 3DS and XBox / PC. I have easy over 20k hrs in the series. I started World 2018 and noticed something immediately... The game is easy af. I am not joking. You want combine something? Ok no fails at all. You need some ores? You have a pickaxe everytime without losing a slot. You run out of potions? I got you bro! Just return to camp! You understand what I mean? I hope. The feeling of running out of potions was insane. If u kill your arch enemy after running out was such a extremly nice feeling. I remember a lot of hunts like this. Kushala, first time, running out of potions, running around the map to get some new stuff back and then killing him. The feeling was INSANE! World never ever gife me such "release" feelings. Imagine a World / Rise player fighting the old Freedom Unite Fatalis xD They already complain about him being to strong in world. Yeah... My guy try to kill him without going back and restock your stuff! Kill him with hard limited slots! Prepare for a win or lose fight! If someone says "I am a good player! I killed Fatalis solo!" I immediately ask "In the old games?" if they say "In World / Rise (maybe Wilds later)" I start laughing. Sorry not sorry but this Fatalis is easy and not hard at all. If u have a big ego because of killing Fatalis in this games I will bring you down to reality. But if you are just a nice guy / women I will say nothing and will not laugh. I had a lot of this situations and I will never change my mind. Fatalis solo in the new games means not that you are a good player. Or in other words "Not such a good player that you can have an ego bigger than Mount Everest"
I honestly think 4U is the best, GU is great and all but i feel it's a game for veterans of the series, it has the largest number of monsters but no context for them. In 4U not only is it a great way to experience the way the old games but is has without question imo the best story telling. I also think 4U has an easy low rank but a very challenging end game which again i think is great for new comers. I do however agree GU has by far the most combat options
Irónicaly 4u was my first and wowy it made me think twice on thinking i was going to get another button mashy game nah hear you think before you act and the challange was amazing but generations últimate let me enjoy old monsters i could not fight because of old hardware i couldnt get back then
Striker Switch Axe gotta be my fav way to play any monster hunter game, mostly because of one specific monster. Thunderlord (especially the EX version) Slotting in EE lets you side step almost all of his moves and also mostly gets rid of your weak defenses and it often gives you massive punish windows. Personally I feel like it is the pinnacle of old school monster hunting.
Giving access to 3 hunter arts and faster charging isn't the only thing striker style does, it also makes the moveset A LOT simpler, though on some weapons that change is barely there while others feel like you crippled them
Gotta agree: Ahtal-Ka is easily one of the best, if not THE best battle in the entire series. Never thought a small gold bug could make for such an unforgettable battle.
For me, its a bit generic but fatalis from mhwi was probably my favorite. He's a generic evil black dragon, but his fight is just so iconic. When I first pulled the dragonator and heard proof of a hero, I had a full smile on my face.
Yup athal ka is the best final boss on MH series. The feeling of discovering why is this tiny golden bug is called "a walking fortess" is something amazing
It's the best monster hunting game, not the best Monster Hunter game. If you're already a fan, it's an incredible experience, between the gameplay and monster roster, it's phenomenonal. However as a start to the franchise, even disregarding individual difficulty, I still believe other games are a better starting point then this. This is coming from someone who played this game first and then got into the main series with World. I believe any of the main series (and Rise and Freedom Unite) to be better games to start with. This is just my opinion before watching the vid lol
Explain to me whats the point of monster hunter because it sounds fo fuuuuun...and can you jusy fight monsters with friends after beating the campaigne?
I hope this explains it well enough but if not, I'll pin this comment so other people can chime in! So you can actually play with friends from the very start! It's a bit more streamlined in world and rise but you can play through the whole game solo or multiplayer if you want. As for what kind of game it is, you could think of it sort of like a boss rush? Basically you start off in the village, chose one of 14 weapons, then go out to hunt a monster in these maps that are separated into a few zones. Fighting the monsters gives you materials to upgrade your weapons and armor. The game is all about learning the monster's attack patterns and the capabilities of your weapon while gradually getting stronger and fighting bigger and stronger monsters.
Gameplay wise is almost similar to the souls games but the bosses take a lot longer to kill and feel like actual animals (most of the times) the game atmosphere is very light-hearted but not childish, it's a very chill fun game to play with friends after school or work, you go hunt a few monsters all together for that armour or weapon you want to craft or upgrade with the"monsters parts" and it can be a fun easy experience or a challenging one depending on the monster you are hunting, real fun If you want a game with good graphics and nice fights go for monster hunter world If you like more fast paced gameplay and would like to fight a ton of monsters from the older games but reworked for the newer games get monster hunter rise One small nitpick is that both games are astronomically better with their respective DLC because they add a ton of content and harder but more enjoyable fights
You fight monsters and turn their entrails into funny hats. You dont need to do much to play with your friends either, usually being avaliable from the start. Its recommended you at least finish the low rank village to unlock key fetures like farms to grow more gathering material for healing and support items.
My only wish for a future title is for them to release monster hunter XXX / Generation Ultimate Final Challengers Hyper Fighting where they add a rank after G-rank called H-rank and they will add weapon transmog, the missing subspecies for the monsters and also the monsters from MH frontier.
Big shout out to frontier for serving as the mixing pot and testing ground for a lot of these incredible changes the series adopted 🫡 Still miss my Extreme style and energy blade mode for swaxe tho. Saw a little reference in Wilds, hoping to see much more in the future
Your video just got me hyped to go back to XX and 4U. I'm finally going to edit my short video of Brimstone Slash III on a flying Rathian. That was a really epic clip. haha Ty for the upload man!
Dunno man sounds a lot like nostalgia. Although not to the same extend as vortex pinnacle both the ancient forest and the coral highlands have a similar journey of being able to journey from the very underbrush and lowest point in the map to the very top of the ancient forest main tree where Rathalos nest is as well as the Coral Highlands where you also ascend above the clouds to meet elder dragons such as Kirin. Although it’s not as extreme the journey is still there and I think with Wilds this’ll be even further exemplified with larger maps that can convey the type of distance travelled with the older games. U say the journey is inconvenient and may take a while but doesn’t that add to the experience of being a hunter tracking down a monster? I think it’d be way cooler if the vortex pinnacle didn’t have a loading screen and getting to the top was a challenge in itself
THIS! Loading screens take out so much of the thunder. Getting smacked out of a zone mid fight always frustrated me. And finding the monster for the first hunt was a nightmare
After 600 hours in World and close to 200 in Rise, the change in speed has been extremely jarring and difficult to adjust to, but I'm into Village rank 5 and Hub rank 2 and I'm starting to get it. Adept greatsword is my crutch, but onward we go!
I started with freedom united and something I hate to see disappear is the amount of weapons and armor as well as the high rank variants and the visual change when upgrading them. P.d: Sorry for my bad English
With some people, it will always be that the one they started with is the best, and the newest one is the worst. And nothing can convince them of anything else
I see monster hunter I click. Nice video! I started with mh1 back on the ps2 and then later on psp. There's just something satisfying about taking down your first Velocidrome or Yian kut ku and learning as you fight that I never got anywhere else. MHGU is gorgeous and it's the final love letter to the old games all in one. An absolute masterpiece and I'll play it along with the new ones that come!
Honestly starting from World and experiencing the series for the first time all the way back to FU was such a trip, 4U has to be my favorite. I wish these older titles would be remastered, as I felt a sense of nostalgia for these games that I never played. I love wilds and was taken away by it, I had a great time with the demo, but it still doesnt quite scratch that "itch" that I have for the older style of games. Hopefully, fan servers will be up sometime for the 3ds titles, I'll finally bother to mod my 3ds when that happens for sure.
OMFG thank you!!! Ive been saying this for years about how the maps where better when they had loading screens. Moderns maps feel small compared to older titles, like how the forest in world all takes place at the base of a giant tree. In older titles maybe 2 or 3 zones would take place right next to each other with the rest of the zones showing of more distant locations of the biome.
I love the MH series, but World just feels like it's on a whole other level, and my favorite part of it has got to be the environment. The older games had some cool enviromental interactions, but it wasn't anything crazy, but in World, you just stop and look around for a sec, and boom! You see that wall covered in fungi? Why don't you run up that and do an air attack! Or oh, that pile of stones on the ground? Pick em up and use the clutch claw to fire the monster into a wall! Those poisonous plants? Use them to poison the monster! Maybe try and lead two monsters together for a turf war! The list goes on! It is worth noting the only MH games I have actually played and beaten are 4U, GU and World, though I played 4U and GU when I was way younger so I might not remember just how good they could be.
This! World has its issues but to honestly say a 3ds game is strictly better is just lying to yourself. You can like a game more but still understand that another game is an improvement
This level of glaze for MHGU is entirely deserved. 4U was my first love and i was honestly overwhelmed with the amount of stuff they shoved into GU, but you couldnt be more right with this video. Its a love letter to the first 15 years of the series. Loved the in depth analysis. Excellent video, sir.
The biggest issue with world ai vs old ai that gets really annoying when you notice it is 5th gen monsters run away from you just to do ranged attacks which totally makes the pace annoying because you have to go run up to them instead of them just using it point blank still or only whipping it out at the correct range already. Its not like this is for realism either since any projectile would do more damage point blank or close to it then with time for energy to fall off anyway
I’m not usually one for objective videos that seem drawn by bias, but this one is more of a song to an old time, it was a great presentation of something I never got to experience
Real talk? I think Dos is the best game in terms of immerson, FU in terms of difficulty and git goodness, GU for contents, World for attention to detail, and Rise for combat. The only bad monster hunter game is a cancelled monster hunter game. MH1 is good but its more of an all around in stead of a specific strength
As someone who started the series with Tri I agree that individual entries have their strengths, but I genuinely don't find MH1 playable. Between the uncomfortable controls and the frankly frustrating aspects of old school design I can't do MH1. Freedom 1, to me, feels like a complete version of MH1 where it's more approachable. Better controls, a balanced farm that cuts down on some of the insane resource grind MH1 and G are notorious for without being broken like the modern farm, and more. SnS is kinda broken in Freedom 1 though. Generations Ultimate imo just has way too much content. It almost feels like Frontier in that way, where there is so much stuff that it can be overwhelming. Freedom Unite, at least in my opinion, strikes a good balance. There is a lot of content but it's more gradually introduced so you don't feel overwhelmed. And I personally don't find Freedom Unite to be particularly challenging until G Rank, but I also played solo Bowgun which tbf kind of trivializes most of the Elder quests, and until late in High Rank in Guild. 9 Flame shots to kill a Low Rank Gypceros with Low Rank gear lmao.
@@765craven4 As someone who adjusted to the controls in Dos, you get used to them. It honestly feels weirdly satisfying for attacks to be on the stick, you can see their vision. I haven't played 1 yet but 2 is incredibly immsersive in the town building and SUPER difficult, way harder feeling than FU even in Low Rank but it makes triumph feel all the better. The portable games are totally different games from the games they are drawn from and you miss out on certain aspects.
Honestly, as much as I enjoy FU, a lot of the difficulty IS artificial. There is no "get good" ness about how ridiculous chip damage from tails is, etc. But it's still a great game. I do agree about Dos, and I honestly feel like it's a better game than FU after playing through village.
@@JeanKP14 A big part of old school MH was more about learning to position so you're never in the path of an attack, or to block it, rather than dodge through them. I think Khezu is a great example of that, and tries to teach that lesson since melee players literally just can't stay near it for very long due to the tail spin and lightning. Tigrex is a much harder version of Khezu in that way, where weapons without a shield can't challenge a lot of his moves, making positioning super important against him.
@@765craven4 Oh yeah, I know. I started with Tri, then went back to FU and learned that the very hard way. And now I've played Dos' village, and believe me the small monsters in FU are nothing compared to LOW RANK in Dos. There are so many. The PSP can't handle that many. They are like G rank aggressive in LR. It's insane LOL. But it teaches you to clear the screen out of small monsters before you even think of trying to hit the large monster that's going to two-hit KO you. Tigrex I actually learned to love with GS. I don't feel comfortable with really any other weapon with him in any game. He enjoys turning into triple charges like an idiot and getting staggered. It's risky and scary, but hilariously not actually dangerous with practice unlike a lot of other weapons where you will just get hit for daring to attack him
As a MH vet that played every title since freedom 2nd, MHGU was the most fun I had. Styles made it so much fun and nostalgia hits hard when you can hunt “end game” monsters from previous titles. EX deviants were also pretty fun apart from EX astalos one shotting me in LBG armor
Immagine a modern, divided by zones with the quickest load screens, with rise fluid control responses, with mhgu level arstyle designs (when those flamingos flew in front of my screen i gasped) mh game.Literally a dream.
I actually don't want zones to come back. Their awful. And definitely make the games easier. Like zone hopping to heal and re-apply buffs is so much more lame than riding the dog in rise.
holy shit i knew mh was super vast but not to this extent, the vibes from the top of ruined pinnacle are pretty mindblowing and might be one of the coolest things i've seen from mh in general, and wtf ahtal-ka's segment completely blew me away LOL phase 2 of the fight being that it....digs up A MECH THAT WAS BURIED BENEATH THE SAND AND STARTS PILOTING IT?? that's just insane. really dope video full of some insightful stuff mr swoocer 😌
this. great maccao is an unpredictable, frustrating mess that deals way too much damage way too quickly, while great jaggi eases the player into the flow of combat.
@@snowcloudshinobigreat Maccao is more predictable than great jaggi because of its extremely obvious telegraphs, and doesn't do that much more damage than great jaggi. I do prefer great jaggi, but your claims aren't objective at all. Perhaps the more erratic movement of the great Maccao makes it less predictable to you, and the "too much damage too quickly" thing is really only the case before you learn its tells, which is the same for every monster ever. But yeah great jaggi is still better, and I dont know why I think that but I like it more.
The best part about mh gen is that when you hold the A button the hunter will actually continue gathering/mining/carving it was the first time in the franchise
as a 4U player, my main issue with modern gen is how much different *all* of the design style is. since they can make high poly, ultra detailed monsters, all of world had really overdesigned monsters compared to traditional designs. But the charm of MH for me was that they were built cartoony and rugged. the more HD they become the more fragile and dainty as well, which really takes away from the vibe like the generic orchestral music and uncompressed sound design. clunky combat, and systems of inconvenience like manual crafting, finite whetstones, hot and cold drinks, etc are some more reason why i prefer old rather than new, it forces you to pay attention, develop more skills, make sacrifices. The old games were about being a hunter, where modern gen MH is like being a soldier, which is not what i had hoped for. it looks like the classic design style is gone forever which is really saddening because its like my favorite franchise suddenly turned into something completely different. and there is no hope for anything to change due to how popular convenience and realistic graphics has gotten MH. its really hard for me to understand why people prefer the realistic graphics for MH when the lowres textures looked perfect and fit the rugged vibe like the tribal style UI or people speaking in grunts like cavemen instead of the unimaginative coherent speech in modern gen. the low poly models made for solid and compact designs that didnt have small but overdetailed features like anjanath's nose thing or tobi's bland body frame contrasted by its overdetailed quills and fur. modern gen to this day is still unrecognizable to me, its hard (for me) to see the new games as anything more than your average action game with MH combat and occasional monsters from MH thrown in. its like if Angkor Wat was demolished and renovated with different materials and less decorative architecture. yes its more advanced, but besides technology, its only an upgrade if you didnt care for what was. yes i will compare MH4U to a UNESCO world heritage site
Between the styles Adapt is sooo fun. On some hunts you are just repeatedly making god tier dodges and making beautiful counters. It's definitely the cool kid in the friend group lol
It is hard to convince players to adopt a sentiment that they don't share. I tried GU on Switch many years later, and I downloaded the GU app database for my to to help me on key quests. I was really looking forward to playing it, but I felt content overload before I made it High Rank. My first MH was Tri, and though that game lacked a lot in comparision to other games, the simplicity and the quality that it does have, is what kept me with the series to this day. For me, Tri will be my favorite in the series as it is what has gotten me hooked to the series.
ayo I had to stop the vid 5:30 min in cuz I HAD TO GIVE A SUB TO A FELLOW GREAT MACCAO ENJOYER! dude from its theme, design, move set and lastly its armor and weapons, I can not stress this enough but there will never be a starter monster as perfect as THE GREAT MACCAO! here you'd earned a sub and a like and so I wish you a prosperous life my fellow brethren.
Easily my favourite in the series. A good mix of solid QoL improvements needed from the older titles and a good variety of monsters to fight. Golden Bug is a wonderful fight too.
It always makes me a little sad to have to place GU as my least favorite monster hunter game but while I could list off all sorts of minor reasons for that (deviant system, hypers, my personal dislike for styles) what it really comes down to is its the first old style game I played, and god damn is it a terrible introduction to that. I wasn't really able to appreciate it until playing 3u and 4u and revisiting it. I do find it fun to play now but once I get to and beat ahtal-ka I dont know that I'll ever open it up again
I'm a pretty strong supporter of the idea that games are extremely subjective and that it's totally fine if two people have entirely different views on the same game. I think because games are inherently supposed to be fun, you should just play the ones you like! (that said, I don't blame you, I've got my fair share of issues with GU too lol)
What makes GU my favorite monster hunter is hunting styles. I've been screaming and begging for those to come back. It made it feel like you had 84 different weapons. The variety and customization were crazy. Even if you didnt like something about a weapon, there was probably a style that fixed it and made it fun. I never liked ranged weapons, but in GU, I ended up playing valor HBG. I loved the power run, which made the weapon feel way more mobile which was my biggest problem with HBG, as well as the crouching fire. I wish they'd bring back in a new monster hunter. I need them to bring GU to pc or at least playstation and xbox so more people can get a chance to play it. I dont want this game to end up being lost to time.
Realism in gaming always makes it worse imo. There’s a reason we love video games.. it’s because they’re NOT real life. This video explains why that makes video games like GU more inherently interesting to our brains over something like World once it really sets in.
Meh. I'm personally more partial to the more grounded monsters. The really out of this world mystical ones always stood out really hard. Love gu but 4u was definitely better to me
I’m very new to Monster Hunter, and everything from the combat, exploration and design, to the fan base all being so passion and inclusive has just pumped me up to play all of these games. I started with Rise, which it was on a major sale with the expansion pack, but I cant wait to play GU and World, they both look stunning
I love GU but GU was just slapping monsters into a game without really caring about the important details. This isnt a bad thing, its not a mainline title, but right from the get go, its nothing like rise, which is a game built from the ground up to be an experience that expands what monster hunter is, because G/GU existed in the past. Risebreak exists to cater to those who love a different taste of monster hunter, like GU and frontier, because World was just an abomination when it came to equipment, set/skill diversity, endgame systems, and "the grind". I love world, flaws and all so its okay, the new armour system just needed more skills, rather than boosted skills to really make it pop. They are 100% going to bring Deviants into mainline monster hunter. Rises apexs are freshly wounded by storms, they may not be deviants, but they definitely are in the middle ground between a normal monster, and a monster who has survived way too much bullsh- if you know what I mean. Apexs are more fun, and the rise grind for rampage weapons was a lot more fun than having an equipment box full of gear that never gets used. I love deviants, I love the fights, but the grind is just blah, and frankly not worth it. Deviants are going to be like the Hazard quests in the endgame of Sunbreak when they return. Apexs and Risens are just the beginning, Deviants will be a 1000x better. Rampage weapons, completely changed how we interact with a base game, and making hundreds of them, was a crazy amount of fun times. Playing all 14 weapons, is a nice change of pace, when I usually play a couple. I make hundreds of different sets, rather than a handful. World leaned into raw damage too much, so its nice to see them expand how much fun you can have with status/elem builds by creating an entire system for us to play with. Ramp up skills also turned low tier weapons into the meta rather than elder dragon weapons, so the apex monsters gave us new ways to play monster hunter, which was a nice touch. Wirebug skills are a lot more engaging, than what was in GU, but thats not to say GU was bad. GU was trying a whole plethora of new ideas, but in terms of combat fluidity, it was a miss. Rise, takes what GU was doing, and focuses on specific things, and enhance them by making the combat more fluid. Rather than styles or skills taking away from your moveset, they expand your movesets, they put more control in your hands. GUs combat is mouth wateringly good, so the fact that Rise leaned that much into skills, is really special to me! Leaning into frontier and deviant-esque ideas with the monsters fights, like with Primordial Malzeno, Lucent, Violet, and Espinas hazard quests makes me want them to lean into skills even more in brand new ways. Its not about one being better over the other, GU and frontier walked, so that Risebreak could run.
I think what makes GenU the most enjoyable to me is the fact that the different playstyles aren't locked behind only weapontypes, if something gives me trouble, instead of having to suffer through a less-than-decent weapon matchup like I was forced to in 4U and earlier titles, in GenU I can instead try and adjust Arts and Styles to see if the new combination works better than the old one. That, and compared to 4U the monsters in both Gen and GenU actually seem to have been adjusted to have "nicer" hitboxes all-around, so you have what's technically a slightly easier experience than normal, but also Hunter Arts to freshen up the gameplay, and because the gameplay otherwise resembles classic Monster Hunter, you know that the monster's health doesn't "feel bloated because Hunter Arts exist" it actually feels like Hunter Arts are "just" a nice bonus in the game, well I mean, unless you count Hyper monsters, but I mean, at least hitting their glowy bits also charges your arts faster.
in world the monsters will stop an attack sequence to hit a hunter sharpening their weapon or turn to hit you when stunned. shavaldara isvaldra is the best example of this.
I started on monster hunter gen and i followed up with MHGU and I've been a monster hunter fan ever since, so both games are so close to my heart,i wish we got another monster hunter game like them
Hunter styles are definitely one of my favorite features and I'd love to see specifically Aerial and Adept come back because of what they offer (Adept guard feels incredible and I'm so glad Lance got it in Rise). I'm not sure I'd say GU is the best in the series, could probably argue 4U, but I do think it's a league above 5th gen.... That might be bias though because I really dislike how World watered so many weapons down to focusing on one big move. Like CB being entirely SAED focused, GS being entirely TCS, LS being Helmsplitter, etc. For all the added fluidity of movement it really felt like that customization aspect took a huge hit, there was almost no diversity to armor sets because of the live service style endgame rollout combined with the focus on these big moves. No reason to run a draw build on GS when all the drawing attack buffs can't be used on TCS and regular charged slashes can't really compete. At least Rise brought some back, and I really hope Wilds has some degree of it. Switch skills are a really cool middle ground and I'd love to see them in a mainline game.
It's not just nostalgia. I started with Rise, and then went backwards into World and GU. I'm endgame in Iceborne and just hit G Rank in GU. Is GU my favorite? I'm not sure, but it at least has to be in the conversation and it very well may be my favorite. And again: I have no nostalgia for it. For me, it's the variety for it, but also the struggle of it. The lack of quality of life things from World/Rise make me think more about my resources, my items, etc. That sounds miserable, however it works for GU because the pace of the game is so different. It's a slower, more methodical experience. It's not the experience I want every time, but it does hit a button that World and Rise don't.
I absolutely agree on 100% of the points you made. This exactly reflects my opinion on the game and I cannot overstate how happy I am that someone could express it so well
4U is the best for me because it balances an exceptionally good, simple storyline with variety only surpassed by GU. The latter being a celebration title grabbing from all the pre-world games probably has something to do with that, but even the ones who didn't make it for 4U in some ways had a return factor. I loved doing optionals in 4 when they unlocked trades for said missing monsters where you could still get most of their gear. It's actual rare stuff in the game you work towards. Plus expeditions were a nice evolution of the Moga woods concept where you could just go to some place to free hunt but now it was a semi-random experience. You even get early powerscalling as some of the hardest fights in the series include the first Apex monsters that can only be fought there at rising AI levels, maxing out at level 140.
The best part of GU is seeing monsters jump into the stratosphere to move to another zone.
The monkeys are very guilty of this, especially congalala seeing this fat monkey just eject into the stratosphere to move into the zone that is 10 meters away
Old World Monsters didn't skip leg day
*insert flying monkey*
Congalala can barely run and jump properly in a fight, yet he yeets himself so freaking hard while screaming whenever he changes areas.

GU is the peak of the classic, the culmination of gen 1 through gen 4, you cannot say that classic is better than the modern one and vice versa, they are just different, the classics ends with generations ultimate, and they go out with a bang, the name itself "Generations Ultimate" is pretty fitting tbh
Gen 5 and onward is the new era of Monster Hunter the natural evolution of the game i always think to myself that gen 5 onward is the spiritual successor to the classic era, if there's ever gonna be another new era of monster hunter in the future, i hope that the modern games can also give us a final game like GU
I agree, however I really wish they would give us another classic styled MH game.
The more arcadey Gen 5+ and slower paced, preparation-oriented artful Gen 1-4 can run in parallel. Something like mainline Pokemon games and the new Legends series.
so if we clump game design as 1 game called "classic", Gen 5+ is a sequel to the classic?
13:58 that moment you get hit by plesioth so hard you just teleport to camp
Also you didn't cover the most goofy and fun "weapon" in the game and that is the prowler playing as the cat to support and do some weird crazy attacks especially online is so much fun, not only that but prowler has SO MUCH customization its almost as much as the weapons themselves making it a weapon on its own
I said this in my own comment, but I see Prowler as a sort of unique Weapon and unique Style both rolled into one exclusive to MHGU.
And this isn't even 2nd gen plesioth who can hit you from 10 feet away lmao
Idk how to tell you this broski, but not only is that not exclusive to old MH, its also not exclusive to monster hunter in general...

What you're describing is a loading screen
If the title has a "U" in it, it's a good Monster Hunter game. See: MHFU, MH3U, MH4U, MHGU.

The CrossCode music in the background though. I love it.
CROSSCODE FAN SPOTTED IN THE WILD! LETS GOOO!
I think it isn't just the Great Maccao that did it, Everytime Zinogre charges you can always disrupt it
I saw a video of someone knocking down Valstrax from a jet charge with the gunlance flare art.
There's even a hidden "weapon+style combo rolled into one" that's only in MHGU, the playable Palico.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is regarded to be the best 'old'-world Monster Hunter game, but Mhgu remains the more accessible one
If it wasnt for the 3ds, I'd say Mh4u is way more beginner-friendly
3U better then both anyway lol
@@MILDMONSTER1234 3U better than 4U, that is always true. xd
@ like Generations ultimate, a lot of people is playing it now.
@@swaglink9142 I love 3U but i disagree. The verticality they add in 4U along with them adding insect glaive and charge blade make it better IMO.

Your discussion of the map design is something I've thought for years - and I'm thrilled to find someone who understands it the same way I do.
Is it better than the newer games? Maybe not, but they are definitely comparable.

Wrong.
07:55 great maccao has better mechanics but great jaggi's aura is unmatched
Its definitely possible but not in world or rise, the advantage that elden ring has is that its an enormous open world
@@hive_of_bees I'm interested to see if Wilds is some kind of wild (ha) hybrid fusion of World/Rise's style and the Old Style of the games.
YES dude Aerial GS was so damn fun!
Fun is the key word. GU is just pure entertainment, it's not a bragging right challenge, it's a fun challenge. Aerial GS was so so easy and spammable, but god I miss it 😂
Welcome back, mhswoocer!
Always loved watching your videos with a coffee and some toast and beans on a nice Saturday morning.
Seeing someone play alchemy without any sp arts hurts my soul the stronger sp levels from alchemy are so useful
Shout out to all my prowler mains yall a different breed of skill
I stopped playing GU early into high rank back in 2018 just cause I burnt myself out. Got into World recently, and have been pressing into Freedom Unite when I can't play World... But this video reminds me that I really ought to get back onto GU. Thanks man!
The little subscribe pop up when you said "concealing what's waiting for you" got a laugh and a subscribe from me lol
The biggest reason why world was / is the most selled mh game is "Noobfriendly changes"
I played every MH game on PSP, 3DS and XBox / PC.
Imagine a World / Rise player fighting the old Freedom Unite Fatalis xD
They already complain about him being to strong in world.
Irónicaly 4u was my first and wowy it made me think twice on thinking i was going to get another button mashy game nah hear you think before you act and the challange was amazing but generations últimate let me enjoy old monsters i could not fight because of old hardware i couldnt get back then
I finally got into monster hunter and playing through rise right now, but I picked up GU on the switch for 10 bucks. Can't wait to try this game
I LOVE MHGU GRAAAAHHHH 2K HOURS AND STILL GOING BABY
And hey you can still play it online! Sadly 4U is done 😢
Striker Switch Axe gotta be my fav way to play any monster hunter game, mostly because of one specific monster.
Thunderlord (especially the EX version)
Slotting in EE lets you side step almost all of his moves and also mostly gets rid of your weak defenses and it often gives you massive punish windows.
Personally I feel like it is the pinnacle of old school monster hunting.
I loved GU, but honestly Rise and sunbreak felt like a sequel to Generations Ultimate, and took everything I loved from that game and improved on it.
@@benj4845 Iceborne Fatalis sure was a near perfect challenge. Fair, but difficult as heck
If you never played a MH title, i'd recommend MH: World, then go for Iceborne expansion.
Gameplay wise is almost similar to the souls games but the bosses take a lot longer to kill and feel like actual animals (most of the times) the game atmosphere is very light-hearted but not childish, it's a very chill fun game to play with friends after school or work, you go hunt a few monsters all together for that armour or weapon you want to craft or upgrade with the"monsters parts" and it can be a fun easy experience or a challenging one depending on the monster you are hunting, real fun
If you want a game with good graphics and nice fights go for monster hunter world
If you like more fast paced gameplay and would like to fight a ton of monsters from the older games but reworked for the newer games get monster hunter rise
One small nitpick is that both games are astronomically better with their respective DLC because they add a ton of content and harder but more enjoyable fights
You fight monsters and turn their entrails into funny hats. You dont need to do much to play with your friends either, usually being avaliable from the start. Its recommended you at least finish the low rank village to unlock key fetures like farms to grow more gathering material for healing and support items.
@@bonelessman56 Actually in some ways MH combat is a complete 180 to souls combat.
I’ve only played 3 ultimate, world and rise, shame I’ll never be able to play monster Hunter 4 ultimate and generations ultimate
Emulation bro
Think of 4U as Iceborne minus the Qol changes and of GU as Sunbreak minus the Qol changes

My only wish for a future title is for them to release monster hunter XXX / Generation Ultimate Final Challengers Hyper Fighting where they add a rank after G-rank called H-rank and they will add weapon transmog, the missing subspecies for the monsters and also the monsters from MH frontier.
look on rule 34, you will find monster hunter XXX and H-rank
Big shout out to frontier for serving as the mixing pot and testing ground for a lot of these incredible changes the series adopted 🫡
Still miss my Extreme style and energy blade mode for swaxe tho.
You forgot about prowler
I started with freedom united and something I hate to see disappear is the amount of weapons and armor as well as the high rank variants and the visual change when upgrading them.
P.d: Sorry for my bad English
im old enought o remember that people fucking hated generations on release
And risebreak being hated on by people who started with world.. for some reason
With some people, it will always be that the one they started with is the best, and the newest one is the worst. And nothing can convince them of anything else
I remember thinking it was too handholdy having the shakalaka helping you in mh tri. I had endless debates with my friends about it
I see monster hunter I click. Nice video! I started with mh1 back on the ps2 and then later on psp. There's just something satisfying about taking down your first Velocidrome or Yian kut ku and learning as you fight that I never got anywhere else.
In older titles maybe 2 or 3 zones would take place right next to each other with the rest of the zones showing of more distant locations of the biome.
you forgot to mention that you can even fight as a Felyne the whole game
Its also like that in 5th gen when you mount them. The monster fucking bolts lmao.
Immagine a modern, divided by zones with the quickest load screens, with rise fluid control responses, with mhgu level arstyle designs (when those flamingos flew in front of my screen i gasped) mh game.Literally a dream.
primal forest is actually from mh4
5:30 wrong!!! The Great Jaggi is the best starting monster of all time.
this. great maccao is an unpredictable, frustrating mess that deals way too much damage way too quickly, while great jaggi eases the player into the flow of combat.
@@snowcloudshinobigreat Maccao is more predictable than great jaggi because of its extremely obvious telegraphs, and doesn't do that much more damage than great jaggi. I do prefer great jaggi, but your claims aren't objective at all.
Agree, and i think it all started going downhill with MHG hunter arts.
Between the styles Adapt is sooo fun. On some hunts you are just repeatedly making god tier dodges and making beautiful counters. It's definitely the cool kid in the friend group lol
Ok I haven't watched the vid yet but MH4U is the best monster hunter game, and nothing can change my mind.
Babe wake up mhswoocer just dropped a video
Joke aside, welcome back sir!
I dont want this game to end up being lost to time.
valor hh was AWESOME, i hate modern hh so much wtf is it doing
Realism in gaming always makes it worse imo. There’s a reason we love video games.. it’s because they’re NOT real life. This video explains why that makes video games like GU more inherently interesting to our brains over something like World once it really sets in.
Meh. I'm personally more partial to the more grounded monsters. The really out of this world mystical ones always stood out really hard. Love gu but 4u was definitely better to me
We will never see monsters like ahtlal Ka or dalamadur anymore and that upsets me
I’m very new to Monster Hunter, and everything from the combat, exploration and design, to the fan base all being so passion and inclusive has just pumped me up to play all of these games. I started with Rise, which it was on a major sale with the expansion pack, but I cant wait to play GU and World, they both look stunning
Every single MH game I've played has been an absolute joy to experience, so I hope you have a lot of fun with the rest!
Holy commas batman
proof of a hero never hit harder than during the athal ka fight
World is normie bait
yeah but XX and Rise are anime pfp bait so it evens out
I think what makes GenU the most enjoyable to me is the fact that the different playstyles aren't locked behind only weapontypes, if something gives me trouble, instead of having to suffer through a less-than-decent weapon matchup like I was forced to in 4U and earlier titles, in GenU I can instead try and adjust Arts and Styles to see if the new combination works better than the old one.
That, and compared to 4U the monsters in both Gen and GenU actually seem to have been adjusted to have "nicer" hitboxes all-around, so you have what's technically a slightly easier experience than normal, but also Hunter Arts to freshen up the gameplay, and because the gameplay otherwise resembles classic Monster Hunter, you know that the monster's health doesn't "feel bloated because Hunter Arts exist" it actually feels like Hunter Arts are "just" a nice bonus in the game, well I mean, unless you count Hyper monsters, but I mean, at least hitting their glowy bits also charges your arts faster.
i like the use of crosscode’s ost
Love seeing a fellow Switch Axe user.
in world the monsters will stop an attack sequence to hit a hunter sharpening their weapon or turn to hit you when stunned. shavaldara isvaldra is the best example of this.
This is a great title. No hand holding the monster hunter series is the reason I'm still gaming well that and the souls series ❤
gotta love the music in the Background^^
wonderfull video again. fun to watch thx for youre work mhswoocer
The best monster hunter is the friends we make along the way
I started on monster hunter gen and i followed up with MHGU and I've been a monster hunter fan ever since, so both games are so close to my heart,i wish we got another monster hunter game like them
Hunter styles are definitely one of my favorite features and I'd love to see specifically Aerial and Adept come back because of what they offer (Adept guard feels incredible and I'm so glad Lance got it in Rise).
