From a 1-10 how excited are you for MH Wilds?
I'll see if I can sneak in and play the Demo at Gamescom, and possibly record any bits for you guys 👀

10!
Bring back the kut ku and garuga bowguns so we have the monster kiss the beak lol

Honestly I don't have a strong opinion on any of the changes, I'll just be happy to get immersed into another Monster Hunter and enjoy it for the first time again
same. im just very happy to play another monster hunter. cant wait
Fr let em cook
Based. It can be fun to speculate and hope for things and make opinions but it gets stressful, it's nice to just lay back and trust in the process and just enjoy what they actually make instead of getting upset about one feature you don't like.
Well said!
i just hope the seemless thing doesnt come at the cost of too much fps
Please just let me change my camera distance to "far" and actually have it be far
That would be crazy
Prolly not due to console hardware limitations, that’s usually why games don’t let you zoom far out or have high FOV because it would have to render in more on screen at one time
Quest boards and 16 player gathering hubs are still in WILDS, it's been confirmed already, it's just more seamless.
I never understood the point of 16 player gathering hubs if there are no 16 player hunts.
@@4PieceOriginal Sieges. And just beeing there with other people. looking at builds or transmogs
Where it is confirmed lol, no its not. Not even the official page does mention about the hubs.
@@deushayatur0301 Sieges are BS. We all thought there would be 16 player before Kulve came out, but its just more 4 player action with the enemy having a shared health pool among 4 diff groups of 4 players.
@@4PieceOriginal16 player gathering hub makes you feel like there is always someone that will probably help you, or someone new to meet that will probably help you with all the hunts you need to do on that day. Sos to be honest are difficult to trust on super hard quest. I would rather go on a hub where everyone is focus on a single monster than do a quest then risk asking for help through sos and have help from new players who are probably still learning how to fight the super hard monster
I wish they'll let us NOT display monsters on the map as an option. I want to ride around and be surprised by a random encounter, get bombed by a Bazel in the middle of a hunt, backstabbed by a Narga as I admire the scenery! Well, of course I'll also want to see where the monster I'm hunting is... World did that well in my opinion. Having everything displayed right off the bat like in Rise isn't a mechanic (or lack thereof) I like.
22:20 "If for whatever reason the monster [...] leaves to a different location" So yeah, like every time we put down a trap not directly under an immobilised monster. Good news indeed. Although I don't know how that'll work with pit traps, as the explosive should have already detonated... Also a random monster we're not hunting will still be able to run into the trap to save the actual target, as usual.
Anyway, I can't wait for release on the 31st of December 2025*!
*realistic estimation based on announced year of release
I have seen in translations from the japanse articles that the monsters won't be diresctly shown on the map *at the very begining*, you have to track it in a similar fashion as in World but apparently it's less tiedieous to finish finding the clues. If i remember correctly Arekks also added that in one of their vids where they list all the new info from articles.
December? I doubt it. We are getting a demo on August this year, so maybe we are getting the game on the first quarter of 2025
I don't think it will be like Rise.
Rise in not numbered MH series. Rise is not a main game. It's the 'fun' version, just like MHG (fun version of MH4)
@@ahmadashraf9448 Ah yes... World! My favorite number.
@@PenanceisNigh small braincell
Some Japanese reports said quest boards are still in. Skipping time doesn’t make sense because MH is multiplayer. You’d have to get everyone to agree to speeding up time. Not impossible but very awkward idea when you could just have a quest board. My guess is there are still investigations or something similar otherwise grinding will be so annoying.
Why wouldn't skipping time make sense? It can easily be done with all the players sitting at a campsite. It's not a difficult thing to agree on if you're playing with friends. Playing with randoms is already a mixed bag, so you shouldn't expect them to listen to you at all.
NOT being able to skip time wouldn't make sense. In World, there are several activities and things you can ONLY do during specific times of day. With how Wilds is being described, the emphasis on time and weather is being cranked up even higher. Not being able to skip time would be a very foolish choice. I don't want to have to wait half an hour before the chance that a rare endemic life might spawn, or some rare gatherable to pop up.
@@HollowBagelnot everyone is playing with friends. Monster hunter has always had a quest board. That's one of the essence of the game. You said it's fine if u play with friends but as i said sometimes u just go into a lobby and u don't know anyone.
@@HollowBagel Most of the time if u play with randoms and they're annoying, picking quests, ignoring yours, you just leave and find another lobby.
@@HollowBagelThere is expedition quests where it's already night or day. Never been a problem bro. Monster hunter hunting system was perfect then and i hope they won't ruin it
@@cauchyflorian9273 I can see you didn't really get my point..
if the monsters are already marked on the map from the beginning, I'm going to simply turning of the map :)
Hopefully there'll be an option to hide non-tracked monsters (best case scenario), or even a mod if you're playing on PC. Running into an Anjanath turning a corner was one of the best parts of World, I don't want the map to spoil cool surprises like that either :(
I'm out. This is just monster hunter rise. Focusing purely on fighting and not hunting. That's the most ridiculous feature. If I wanted the monster pre tracked, I'd play rise. That's why I didn't play rise.
i would be ok with just the paintball coming back. its kinda what made it in a way when i first played mhf
What a good thinker
According to another article from someone who saw the demo (don't know which exactly, I believe it was mentioned in the video "monster hunter wilds - 18 impactful changes to combat" by Arekkz Gaming) the scoutflies are still a thing! So the first time hunting a monster it won't be visible on map and you will have to track it similarly to World, but once you've discovered it it will be marked on the next quests
Apparently, there will be seasons in the game. I remember them mentioning that, and it would affect not just the environment but the monsters as well and which ones appear.
The "seasons" are probably just the state of the map, but maybe not, we'll see
It's not a rail gun. That monster is more akin to a flying tesla tower, something that channels electricity, not a railgun which uses electromagnetic force to accelerate an object
10:00 Never really saw the Palico speaking as a problem (except that they weren't talking the way Palicoes are usually shown) and I can see why it would get annoying for some people, but the player character speaking would be equally annoying and I hope we can turn the dialogue off altogether...
edit: Also to the people who complained about the scoutfly system in world to track the monsters, all that needs to be said is: Skill issue...
Complaining about the scoutfly system is a skill issue??? I just want my paintballs back.
Pretty sure Scout flies are quite the opposite of skill. I want to actually do something to mark the monster.
Skill issue? Are you fucking serious? You mean the system that makes tracking completely and utterly brainless?
with this set up there should be a ton of monsters to take advantage of these multiple states of the map. There are the 3 stats of harsh, hazard and, abundance, on top of that multiply that by 2 for the day and night cycle so there will be 6 states for each locale. The Japanese phrasing implies 3 to 5 locales. Even if it's just 3, on the low end, that's sort of like 18 types of environments with monsters reacting differently. Many are saying that the logo impiles 4 locales so that would make it 24 instead but if we get the max it's 30 variables here,
Some media also stated that each locale will have at least 2 monsters that operate in herds, this means we know the minimum of them for the windward plains. Some locales may have 3 monster types that do this or maybe more but 2 is the minimum.
A HUGE change will be less microtransaction armor and weapon as dlc/and more events rewards, not just titles and stickers like rise did...
I agree, I've been very vocal about this for a while now
@@darkhero2do you think we will ever get prowler mode back?
Just a gentle reminder that Rise and World are basically in two different series. Wilds was always going to be a sequel to World, with some experimental features of Rise _maybe_ getting implemented if they fit. Likewise, the next game after Wilds will be a sequel to Rise, with some mechanics from Wilds _maybe_ implemented if they fit.
We know people who are new won't pick up on how different the handhead versions are ment to be
THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING THE LACK OF TENDERIZING, oh my god that bothered me so much in W:IB. That aside, I'm so excited to be able to change weapons. When playing with my partners I always picked a weapon based on what we would be fighting, but to be able to switch quickly from Bow support to Lance tank will be very useful.
...I really hope that more defensive weapons, or at least Lance, get a taunt, because facing a monster head on and shrugging off attacks with blocks and counters while my partners flank it with their strongest attacks is a great feeling.
*Technically* tenderising is back as wounds, it's just that there's no move that specifically does it. It naturally happens if you just keep attacking. You can't do anything interruptive to your fight to make it happen, it just happens.
I wonder if the monsters will be summonable with lures similar to the guiding lands, as they would work like expeditions so anything could spawn in theory, if the area was at a high enough level to spawn that monster. I've also had some monsters despawn in World i think during different weather conditions, or day/ night cycles, especially in the guiding lands, but i might be misremembering. Recore also utilised sandstorms, and changed the dungeons depending on the cycle, as well as despawning certain enemy types, whilst a sandstorm is in effect, which was one of the better mechanics in that game.
Great info round up here man, cheers for making this 💙
The map states remember me of MHD where we had seasons. There different seasons had different monsters and the quests did change based on the season.
I really liked that .
My thoughts exactly. Even if it's a small touch in Dos, it really builds the narrative of the hunter and how they adapt to the environment (at least for me).
I really, REALLY hate how invasive the cutscenes are in World, which I'm now playing.
The fact that a cutscene gets in the way of actual gameplay (can't team up til all hunters have seen the cutscenes) is a great, big nuisance. Can't imagine who thought this was a good idea.
I'm only playing World on principle. Just so I can keep up my streak of beating every main MH game in existence.
I understand the elaborate story for the people who play alone, but we should have been able to opt out.
I miss the tried-and-true gameplay loop:
Go to counter
Go on quest
Go to counter
Go on quest
All this running up and down and investigations on expeditions and all that shit just makes me sleepy when I'm trying to pull an all-nighter.
I hope Wilds returns to form.
My guess on the armor skills and decoration system is that depending on what type of weapon you're weilding will determine what skills activiate in your equipped armor and decorations. For example a Doshaguma body might give an Expert skill for affiinity if you're weilding a blade weapon like greatsword, longsword, charge blade, sword and shield, switch axe or insect glaive then if you switch to a blunt weapon like hammer or hunting horn the armor and decorations would activate a different skill like KO for stun power so you can plan what 2 weapons to bring based on the armor pieces you have equipped. This would lend well to a mix and match armor set like MH games encourage you to do for min/max builds.
I can't wait to see all the weapon changes & Monster Lineup. Anything else is literally a MH Wilds Waiting Room atm.
I’m super hyped! I’m also a HH main and I can’t wait to see what changes they do. I did like in rise how you could really focus on combat but I also missed hearing the doots and timing my doots from world. Besides the timer for combat what about faints? Still 3 would be my guess and perhaps the monster flees?
I am super curious to see how lobbies are going to work. If sleeping can pass time, for example, will everyone have to sleep at the same time or is it just the host? Will there only be one Alma following the host around? The persistent aspects seem weird to me
I swear if there isn't 4 Almas walking around at once then I may not buy the game.
Jkjk I'm already sold on it
4? Those are rookie numbers, I want the big lobbies back. 12-16 almas
@@camerondavis800 some god tier gamin!
I think an interview said something slightly different anout quest. Something where by accepting the quest, the monster would be populated in it (in case it wasnt already).
I cant wait to see how the elder dragons react to the world
I just jumped on the boat for the first time, 70 hrs in, I am literally soaked in it :D
I was a big fan of Horizon games, and this is a similar style.
Great to see a newer more updated game is coming
Welcome to the club!
You have no idea how happy it makes me to hear CrossCode music in a video. Can't wait for Wilds!
Hey DarkHero, won't it be nice if the NPC Hunters that you call with the SOS flare be players from your friends list, kind of like the way pawns work in Dragons Dogma!😊
I don't know how I feel about them getting rid of quest borders for this change. they will most likely just do the accepting of quests similar to how you can accept a quest from the handler.
Also I don't mind getting part break parts automatically but I will miss trying to find time in a fight to pick it up.
I imagine this huge map may have similar mechanics to the guiding lands, could be the guiding lands were used to test things for this game
Here are a few things i hope will be changed/added in Wilds from Worlds
1. Palicoes Equipment can be changed at any Equipment Box instead at Blacksmith/Home/Camp.
2. When playing Solo you can bring a full party of AI Hunters that can be trained and have changeable equipment or have a class that determines their weapon. (this will help those who can't get any players into their hunts with S.O.S.)
3. Crossovers let them keep coming.
4. Skippable Cutscenes/Tutorial
5. On the field reviving. (when in a party with others/AI they can revive you on the field(item required) or you can chose to spawn back at camp)
I disagree with the AI hunters and would add back prowler mode
I can't believe they're actually doing it, finally!
I think my single favorite feature is Cross-play for PC and Console. Many of my friends only have one or the other and so this will be great to let us all play together
I just hope you can join multi-player before having to go find the cutscene, as playing through the story with my 1 partner becomes quite a hassle
Was there any mention on lance and gunlance so far?
It’s not likely, but I really hope transmog options are available and not a pain to utilize.
I liked the old school style of planning a hunt, making sure you had the right gear and items and the right craft items and if you didn’t plan correctly you had no camp crutch to save you. Having the monster already just marked isn’t hunting it’s just fighting
Not really any doubts that that there will be more locales due to not having 3 of the main locale types that have appeared in every game, a forested area, a tundra, and a volcanic region, one of those may end up being part of a dlc instead like Ice Iceborne did (most likely the ice or volcanic region) but that still leaves 2 more that almost definitely will be in the game
I would take IRL stake animations for the food, really, but in MH it would really fit I guess?...
Hunting Horn should get an ability to make it work like it does in rise. That being said, YEAAAHHHHHH! HH mains be feasting on this news!
All I want are weapons that change when you upgrade them instead of them looking the same for 90% of their upgrade path. they don't have to be too crazy different but just even a different color for the handle would be nice
It will be incredible bro
I don't understand why they can't just indicate areas a monster is likely to be in. Have information about where they are likely to be found. This would keep the surprise of not KNOWING when a monster is going to show up but also avoid tracking a monster over an extremely large map. Maybe tracks could appear in the area where they are likely found. It also makes real world sense as in reality we do have an idea of where we could find different animals if we wanted to.
Simple solution: Bring Paint Balls back
Thank you. I'm at 11 mate. This is going to be a generational change.
I somewhat wonder if MHW and Wilds decided to hide monsters instead of simply showing them. Sure it would be more grind and bit of a hassle for some but would be cool to find the monster you need and then SOS when on that expedition where other players can see what monster was SOS’d. Would make looking around and experiencing the map more part of it imo.
I started rise and played it for like a week after release 😂 now playing it again and cant stop lol cant wait for wilds
The monsters will only appear on the map once you have encountered them.
I wonder how they will handle the environment changes between low rank and high rank.
My guess is the story beat between low rank and high rank will change something about the enviornment or monsters in it to be more dangerous giving logic behind high rank.
I'm happy they are putting more effort in the story / cinematic nature of the series now with fully voiced protagonist more character development and involvement during hunts etc I can't wait to play this game
I'm wierd I guess. I like the monsters being marked. I expecially love that it seems we will have seemless quest and little downtime between them so grinding for parts should be far easier.
I don't get much time to play games so being able to maximize my time with less menu hopping is just great.
I hope there is no "skipping to the sandstorm"
It would eliminate the theme of adapting to the environment.
I also hope there is a limit on the amount of restocking items in the forward camp.
Preparing is a part of the monsters Hunter experience. I wouldn't like to miss it.
I wonder if theyre going to have weapon that wont look as good in the begining like in world before we get to the end game expsnsion so that we have something to look foward to be fore we get the endgame expantion
As hunting horn main, I'm not happy. I finally felt like i was properly dancing with my horn. Something along the lines of Bow, LS or DB. To go back to something a kin to a musical great hammer is gonna suck. Also sad that silk bind shockwave was so fun and it wont get an equivalent in wilds. That we know of anyways.
I still plan on Bow and Horn tho.
It doesn't matter for me what they will bring. Iam just ready for it. Iam holding my Longsword sharp. My Sins prepared. Yep iam ready for it!!!
New weapon is what I've been asking for
OVER 9000! I have rarely been as excited about a video game as I am about Monster Hunter Wilds. This game better come out in January because I don't know if I can wait any longer when I'm getting new information from everywhere.
I would bet on march - since most MH games came out around march and they had the anniversary in march this year
hmm, if its open world, i hope theres an escort quest when you capture a monster. It would be wild to see what sort of scavanger monsters raring to eat a rare monster.
Only thing I hope for is that the Berserker GS playstyle from Rise is back in this game. 🤞🤞
u mean surge slash?
Yes
i just hope we get some more unique weapon designs and less bone/iron designs like in world.... Thtas probably the thing I like least about world (other than teasing dalamadur but not including him), like the weapon designs got so dull over time except for the few uniques..
so hyped for any potential lance changes.mounted jousting, perhaps? :D
Omg I never thought of that. That would be amazing
I really need to see a long sword gameplay trailer for LS
It sounds like it can be like Legend of Zelda BOTW, where Hyrule castle is the middle and scale out from there! I approve!
I missed out on mhw, which i recently was able to play but i will be able to play this game day one
6:53- Railguns don't channel electricity, they use electromagnetism to push solid objects out faster.
Having more story focused game is something I always wanted. The MH world is so interesting and I always wanted an interesting story to be set in it.
Just started a replay of world with friends and my immediate thought for what we all want is "joining multiplayer hunts with cutscenes and the ability to skip them."
Not sure, The changes may be great or completely wreck the formula...
I am so excited for Wilds! Hopefully this time Hunting Horn will be good and not that complicated like in MHW. Rise made it easy and I hope this will be the case here too. I dont wan't to play like 15 Notes for Attack Up (S)
i also prefer the rise hh. it felt satisfying to play.. the only downside was, that the buffs available were really underwhelming and i somehow wish you could have 1 customizable slot for a buff
bruh Digimon world 1 File City theme is so Nostalgic
Hope that you can do the story with friend and not wait for Everyone to watch the cutseen to join them
World HH?!
We're so back!!!!
I hope there is still the quest board
I like the idea of monsters being available at different times.
The double doot is something the wilds aren’t ready for
I hope we get to create the Handler.
I am confidnet that this game will be great, but two things I noticed I really don't like are the tracking monsters on the map before scouting for them or paintballing / marking them, and then reducing the ammo types in bowguns. I love and miss the immersive feeling of hunting monsters not just fighting them, and bowgun ammo types are what make them so fun and versatile. I'd like to see ammo expanded and more tracking / hunting simulation elements
I agree with this. It's the one thing I didn't like about rise all that much is the fact that there was never a phase where you would be looking for the monsters. I think world had the immersion just right, because I always hated the paintball system with a fiery passion. World had it where you would find actual clues to where the monsters whereabouts were and over time get more used to how the monster moves and behaves till it made sense that you would know where it goes. I know some people didn't like the scout flies but I think that It hit the right balance of immersion and cinematic involvement with the hunting process.
I'm super hyped and excited for Wilds. Easily going to be my top game of 2025.
Is there any news in pc requirement?
Upgradable carving knife when?
I hope the maps have more verticality then they seem to have so far. Not like the shrine ruins either. More like the ancient forest.
Can you customise the seikret?
I just want some thick armor without my weapons clipping through the drip. ESPECIALLY THE STUFF WITH CAPES. Oh yeah, the accel axe would also be fun to try out. If any of y'all played DDDA, who wants arc of deliverance on the greatsword in here?
I just want medium bowgun back
Ok and aquatic enrionments but i doubt thats ever coming back
Bow main here I'm wondering if you might know if MH Wilds will be using MH World's bow system or MH Rise's Bow system ( I liked MH Rise's bow system better with each bow intrinsically having its own style such as piercing shots, rapid shots or spread shots )
i hope they are hiding a new weapon type. i miss tonfas
I want the farms back!!!! 😭 I rly miss them
I'm kinda worried about the bow gun ammo. I main LBG and HBG. I feel like in Worlds, the ammo is almost perfect. I don't use some of the ammo like piercing, armor and demon shots, healing, ect. But I use almost everything else. My main load out is a KO sticky LBG
Ammo definitely isn't perfect in world, sticky is beyond op eclipsing everything outside especific elemental match-ups or spread headlock, piercing is only useful in certain monsters, normal lacks dos and cutting ammo got nerfed pretty early.
What do you mean there haven’t been any locales confirmed? They said several times in some of there livestreams there is still more locales to show
I hope when you change weapons you also change the build because a HBG build is VERY different from a GS build, unless they will just unify and make retard skills like "Weapon Damage +5", so they have 2 options so far, the armor in the trailer is the only armor we would have in the beginning or they will make a lazy skills now on
I think that is the point and I expect there might be a system to allow some skills to apply to only weapon 1 or 2, but I don't think that will be the case for the most part
I wanted world style tracking rather than just seeing where the monster is at all times
I don’t care about anything except the game coming out and then taking their time to give us an amazing gaming experience for the next couple of years like they always do. The MH team has got to be the best in Campcom. They truly know their community
Will you play this game on gamescom this year?
Hmmmm, so they took the good points from the Wild Hearts, nice :)
Hopefully we get better co-op when you need help on certain quests or help others hunters with there’s 🎉🎉🎉🎉 also I hope my boy Narga on here 😊
I really don't think that Gemma is LMF. I think they are starting some kind of tradition. Like including a Cid, Biggs, or Wedge character in most Final Fantasy games.
I hear Crosscode music and I am Happy 🤩
What a game.
Not me, I've been asking for a return of underwater combat and Prowler Mode. :(
apollo theme jumpscare
Basically Toukiden 2's big open worldish Map
Ah yes, I remember that game. It was quite fun.
the changes about quests and monster spawn behaviour seems like the game will be slightly pokemon-oriented. I like it
where is underwater combag 😢
All I can say is: the more i've heard/ read about this game, the more i see that they're making my dream game. If everything they have shown/ said so far is true that is, sich i don't think that Tokuda and Fujioka or any lead MH team are the type to lie about their games. Also: please I wanna se my boy Tetsucabra again! I hope he's in Wilds, pleaseee be in wilds!
