Hey guys! Some updates on PROTO5 - will update this whenever I remember. LOL UPDATES TO THE CINEMATIC RACER KIT www.protofpv.com/product-page/proto5-cinematic-racer 2 months back I added a nano RX TPU holder and rear GPS M10 holder. Few weeks ago I updated the O3 quick swap holder with integrated capacitor stay. The front camera cage can also install a ELRS or CFSR antenna, and the rear antenna holder can also fit an additional ELRS antenna. The VTX antenna can now also be secured with a zip tie for extra security. PROTO5 CORE www.protofpv.com/product-page/proto5-core-model An alternative with less prints, and steel hardware, and less $$$. Same great frame, same great flying performance! BANDO APPROVAL STATUS -Been bando'd every weekend over hardcore environments by MUG FPV. He confirmed the baseplate is bando approved. It's seen months of use and it's still not broken. Go ahead and send it. The only thing you might need to replace are stand offs, screws, and props.
Wow so cool. This frame is versatile! No two builds will be identical. Its awesome to be able to film forward and downward at the same time. Love the bloopers!
Just purchased the proto5 with the pink tpu can’t wait to build it. This will be my most precious / prized build yet with all top quality parts hopefully you will feature it on you website. Totally stoked!!🥳
Thank you so much!! I’m printing it right now!! 😂🙏 super fresh! yes please share your photos with me by email when you are done your build. Would love to post it up. Also tag me on ig @protofpv
This is pretty wild! I feel a little conflicted about a single piece base plate, but I like the overall idea, and aesthetically, it's beautiful. I do have a 5-inch freestyle that I don't fly because I'm not a fan of the heavy frame, so I may consider doing a transplant. Oh, Im in Alberta, so i like to support domestic fpv endeavors. Nice work, man! 🫡🤙🏻🔥
Yeah that one piece base is a little concerning. I think in FPV things are always a trade-off though. I would probably never use it for pure freestyle.
@gregdavidd yeah that's just it. I think this is a really amazing design for somebody who only wants to own one or two drones and have it be sort of a Swiss Army knife . Aesthetically I think it's incredible looking, but the more I've been thinking about it all day, the more it kind of does the same thing as all of my different quads, but at the cost of some concessions. I have a open racer 03 race frame quad, and I have like six 5-in freestyle quads call in different geometry is, and I just built a sub 250 5 inch.. this doesn't really do anything that any of my other quads wouldn't, so if I do decide to build with this Frame it'll be mostly because I want to support a Canadian fpv frame designer, and that it just looks really cool. I appreciate that he is putting together a all in one package with all of the trimmings. For instance on my sub 2:55 in that I just built, I ordered titanium, aluminum, and PEEK screws, and that s*** adds up pretty quickly in the minimum order amounts.
Hahaha I tell myself that too dude! I just started transplanting stuff from frame to frame after a while. I guess you can keep old frames as back up too
@@PattyFlipz I'd want more powerful motors for this than I currently have.. maybe those new Chris Rosser motors? What do you think? The tmotor issue he had seems annoying to me
I don't usually comment on ANY video but, i have to say that this is a beautiful frame. If it flies as good as it looks this is definitely something to be proud of. I drive a hyperblue BRZ...make one with a similar blue TPU set and I'll buy 2!
Thank you for the comment! Really appreciate it. Hyperblue is a really special colour! On the website I do have a filament that’s a lighter blue. Not quite the same but there’s the option! 😄
I agree, like uh it's 50 dollars more than a Apex Evo, but is it 50 dollars better? Personally I don't think so especially for a park flyer I wouldn't dare fly this near a bando or carpark over concrete not at that price, it is pretty though
Thanks guys. No worries. This is my first frame.. had to make it kinda crazy and stand out from the crowd. I never like blending in. I’ll be releasing more stuff in the future for folks of all budgets 👍
This frame is perfect for the L.E.D. Ribbon on the edges. My first 3.5 drone and still have is the Baby Hawk 2 HD and asked the same thing. I wish this frame was in a 5-inch. Emax doesn't care too much for recommendations, I've done the same thing. Now seeing this that will have to same tech as Baby Hawk 2 ridged frame. I love the antenna in the front but was wondering if there's a way to 3D print a pocket for the RX to sit in instead of zip ties. Zip ties break easy. But I'm getting one anyway. Quadmula is great and all, but this is more versatile. The top or bottom battery mount is KING DING A LING bad AF. It'll be easy to put a GPS off the side of the Frame or 3D print a holder. Good job bro I love it.
Thank you bro all the way!! Glad you understand the frame and No doubt, It’s still a work in progress , def. Can use even more refining for sure (instead of zip ties for some areas) and I’m happy to hear you will pick one up! The rx pockets a great idea. Can totally sit between the stand offs for sure. Will add when I can!!
I found you, when you shared your LR4 PIDs and expirences and was already sold on the P25, which I've already ordered for XMas 😀Now it's stuck somewhere on the way in Germany ... The P5 was also in my shopping bag, but I have to admit I'm not a racer, more like a cinematic Explorer ... now I saw how versatile your unique frame is, maybe you have a setup recommendation for a more LRish setup? In this case I would be sold again for my birthday, which is in January (lucky me), because the more I look at this unique frame the more I love it ... And yeah, really nice work!!
Thank you so much!! I got more stuff in the works… :) hint hint.. LR 6” (like explorer and the looks of p5) Im going to test it next month. Will update all of you on the progress. You are going to love it.

Very nice design. I like the fact that you noted that the design aesthetics are also very important. This frame looks modern. Have you looked at the black box files and compared the tunes and resonances to other high end quads? You should reach out to the FPV retailers to get your frame into their shops. The only thing that I can think of that people will be concerned about is if you break an arm you have to replace the entire frame.
Hi! Thank you for the kind comments. Yes i wanted to make something different and striking and yes replacement is expensive, like crashing a super car haha. I crashed it into concrete blocks and dropped it from the sky on purpose. After multiple hard hits there can be slow splinter fracture of the affected side but drops from half a meter here and there is totally fine. Tpu print holding the o3 is 4mm thick each side and butted against cf frame. GoPro is much more exposed if you use it up top etc if you think about it. In my mind I did design the frame for experienced pilots looking for change but thinking about it might be a good one for someone’s first frame too. If you plan to bando very often, I would not use this. Just like you don’t bando a super car haha
