Your first mistake is listening to anything that overblown self-important horse's patootie had to say. I went to high school 1969-1972 and my favorite cast was probably 1990-1995. For me, current day SNL stands for "Still Not Laughing" and "Stop Now Lorne!" This was your favorite cast because it was one of the best casts that got even better after they brought in Mike Myers, David Spade, Adam Sandler, and Chris Farley. It peaked in 1995 when Will Ferrell joined the cast but the show took a major shit when Michaels let Farley, Spade, Sandler, and Schneider out of their contracts and Chris Rock and Dana Carvey left in '93. Then Myers departing in '95 the same year Ferrell came in. After that, it was never quite the same.

It's really trippy to know what they're all about here in 2023. Some tragic, some politically extreme and some just still funny and going.

Victoria is a toxic and very aggrieved old woman now, famous for making herself look like a fool when she shares any of her political opinions. A real jerk, sorry you liked her, she turned into a real stinker!

Ive been trying to find the "Donheiser" sketch with (I think) Dana Carvey as a German version of Donahue. It was hilarious.

Phil Hartman had enough talent for 10 people. In addition to his comedy, stand up and acting, he was an excellent screenwriter and artist. Dana was always a favorite of mine. There is an excellent podcast called "Fly on the Wall" with Dana Carvey and David Spade, which is on youtube, There is a 2 part show of past SNL members remembering funny Phil Hartman stories.

I miss Phil Hartman and am saddened by all of the brilliant comedy we all have been deprived of since his tragedy.

It would be so meta if this had been Dave Thomas doing Phil Donahue and the SNL cast had actually been portrayed by the SCTV crew.

This audience seemed to be clueless. You can tell Phil Hartman was the "father" of this cast. Listen to Fly on the Wall podcast. Good insight to these SNL days.
