I continue to try to get a vacation for my non-golfing wife to Portugal so that I can enjoy these courses and I've been showing her your videos as a "look how stunning this is, drive the kart for me!" to convince her we should take the trip.

Recently went to Portugal with my wife and two sons. We managed one round with all four of us and three with just me and my sons. If it had just been my wife and myself it would have been a grand total of none. Having said that the two of us did play Maspolomas in Gran Canaria.
There’s lovely villas here. I played last year and the wife and kids enjoyed the villa. If you like hotels the Marriot pria Del Rey is nice.
No disrespect to your wife but leave her at home and go by yourself or with the boys 😂

Will you be doing another what's in the bag soon? I look forward to hearing how you like your 50 deg wedge. I've been playing a 52 and it has served me well around the green. I haven't golfed the past few weeks and am eager to get back out and continue to practice and work on technique! Your channel always keeps me excited to go practice.

@ontheroadwithiona I must say, I appreciate this run of videos. I've been in Portugal for a couple months and after seeing the Praia D'El Rei video, I went and played it. Then I saw the Dunas video and booked it. I may try to squeeze in West Cliffs now before I head to a new country. Keep up the great course reviews!!

I had a lot of pressure put on me as a kid playing golf competitively, so much I walked away from the game for 22 years, After seeing Iona and Rick play at Crail, I picked up some clubs and fell in love with the game again. . I’ve played West cliffs a few times over the last couple of years, it’s a very fair course with some challenging holes for players of similar ability to myself, handicap 19. Great views and some good driving holes, I recommend playing it if you are in the vicinity😊.
Tough course I also played los obidos aswell as playa del ray . West cliffs definitely the toughest.
I hope that you enjoy sharing paradise with us as much as we enjoy having it shared. You make the best content. I intend to play this course in my dreams tonight.

My favourite course in Portugal but I haven’t seen Dunas (which looks promising as well) so far. With West Cliffs its not only the course, for me its the vibes of the area and the proximity to the powerful ocean. Too bad this was only the second nine, that was a promising round, even par on the back nine is a hell of a score! I enjoyed this very much. 😍

Played here the year after it was built Iona. I found it very intimidating with the wind. We stayed at Campo Real Golf Resort and had a trip to West Cliffs. Might be worth a look.

Another great video at such a picturesque course. I love how calmly you approach the intimidating tee shots and your swing is so smooth. I also love the fact you mentioned not chasing distance and focusing on tempo and finesse which is where I'm at in my golfing journey! Slow is smooth and smooth is fast!
