I watch a lot of golf content and thing I love about Iona is the endless possitivity. At the end of the day being out playing is a real privilege and I forget that sometimes myself.
Have a read of Harvey Penick. A tour pro was struggling, after their chat she says to Harvey “ I have to go and play now”. He stops her, grabs her hand and says” you get to go and play”. Changed her attitude and results.
As a greens keeper,I am hugely appreciative of the fact that you show how to repair divots and pitch marks! More to the game than whacking a ball in a hole. I hope people pay attention. Thanks for your videos, you are a superstar!
A Friday evening chat with my friend from Scotland . . . one of the most enjoyable and relaxing hours I’ll spend any day. Thank you for sharing your gift of communication and the pure love of golf with us here in North Carolina. When you drop a video, I wish you could see the smiles it brings to us. You are indeed a treasure.
(15:31) "I just love this game!"... 11 minutes later... (26:43) "Iona! God... I hate this game!!" Emily needs to get a drone for aerial shots and you can capture the shots-into-green approaches!!
Iona, I don't get much free time especially as a dad to a lively 2 year old, but when I do and I'm not playing golf, I just LOVE watching your videos! Such positivity and enjoyment bursting from you through the screen and your insight helps me when I do get onto the course! Thank you and keep making incredible content as we all absolutely love it 🫶
Love the positivity exuding from Iona. I also learned three expressions that I haven't heard; here in Texas. - a wild wee - cream cracker - a welly (?) Hope I got that right I try to never miss an Iona video!
Hey Iona, I enjoyed your round! You hit slot of good shots. It looked like a tough course. It is a beautiful lay out. I really like the way you accelerate through the ball! Thanks for showing us this course. The holes alongside the Atlantic are breathtaking!! Golf is a wonderful game and I am glad you enjoy it so much!! Look forward to your next video!! Blessings to you!! Kelly
I have adopted the "chasing the Red' and found it an excellent way to keep the focus and achievable. didn't quite make it but close, next time... love it
I love the Chasing the Red concept. I'm using it as my guideline for this year, and hopefully, it will help me get less frustrated on the course. A four is always better than a five -- etc.
Iona, it sure seems like you were not giving your backswing time to mature on a number of your approaches. It was encouraging to see you remain so positive about turning the score around after those bogeys on the front. Praia d'El Rey looks like a beautiful course with a stunning layout and treacherous greens! Well done, Iona. On to the next!
I don’t get to play much these days but thanks to your videos you help keep me close to those lush fairways and velvety smooth greens, and keep the beautiful game of golf close to my heart. Thank you 🙏🥰
More compelling viewing Iona and it’s in my backyard. Westcliffs and Royal Obidos are also great courses and the nearby historic walled town of Obidos is a gem.
Wow Iona simply great driving enjoyed the video great course didn’t do much wrong tough putting on those greens look forward to next instalment from Seve x
Matt Fryer featured this course this week. He must have been there the week before you. The storms were quite bad then. We must have been in Portugal the same time as you, when the weather was much better. We played the 16th on Val do Lobo Royal course just as the sun was setting. It was quite magical. Slight logistical cock up though as we had to miss out the last two holes. What did I score? Who cares?
It was a pleasure to meet you on the 1st tee, and good to see you played the course much better than we did. Looking forward to seeing your West Cliffs video.
Played this course and west cliffs with my family for my 18th. Absolutely loved it. Wind was off the land when we played which is very unusual but meant the holes by the sea played very short which made for some memorable scores on the most memorable holes.
Iona, the way you drive the ball is something I’m trying to emulate. So solid. Spot on about practicing the chips just off the green, it’s not until you have a good day making up and downs that you realize just how many shots it can save!. Love the content and your boundless enthusiasm for the great game.
Excellent video and the "Chasing the Red" idea is super. Loved watching you play and I was impressed with your tee-shots. Please do not take my earlier comment on your tap-in putt too seriously, it was intended to be tongue-in-cheek.
I thoroughly enjoy watching the calmness of the way you play golf, lots of good content, and very informative 😄 The idea of having a personal chasing the red is great! Gave me a different outlook on how I want to play my golf 😃
Some fantastic shots in that round. Slightly scrappy early doors, too early for you I think. Stunning scenery, great camera work, almost rescued it near the end.
Another great episode Iona! My chasing the red goal is to shoot under 80. I did it a couple times last year and looking to better that this year. You inspire me!
Chasing your own version of the red - never thought it like that - I'm now having more fun and being easier on myself like the lady said - great advice.
Iona, I wouldn't be surprised if you scored 6 shots better the next time to play this beautiful course. You would have greater success with the fast, undulating greens. I loved your ball striking and commentary.
okey pokey, great soothing video! Was thinking to watch something on my 2nd screen, i ended up doing nothing but just watching your video for straight 43 mins :) Really appreciate your love to the sport.
Enjoyed it, Iona...you need to play it again now that you know it better. You did well for it being mostly new to you. Nelly Korda says hey...ha...your swing seems very ssolid...chipping needs some work...eh?
Lovely vid...a cream cracker of a vid. actually. Really enjoyed it. And just to clarify, Emily is just over seven foot?😂Happy weekend to all. I'm only 3 quarters through vid but am so sure I'll enjoy the last bit that I let the comment go live early...confidence...unquestioned confidence.
Wonderful video on a great looking course! Iona always has the best content to learn from and to be entertained with!!! Always love the videos and I can’t imagine anyone watching and not loving to and subscribing!!❤❤❤
Had a greens keeper teach me how to repair pitch marks years ago, have taught numerous golfers since. It's good to see the RUclips golfers demonstrating this skill, which I consider a must for any responsible player. Last year I bought an electric golf trolley and bought the sand bottle attachment too, since I am not carrying it. So now when I go gardening in the fairway I can fill that as well. Makes me feel better, since when I dig a trench, it's a miss-hit. Most of my divots are really shallow, just need a sprinkle of sand.
Thanks for the great video and positive comments about our course. Video is being shared around and watched by many of the PDR members today as we suffer howling gales and torrential rain! Glad you had a good day here. If you thought the PDR greens were tricky, try West Cliffs! Hope you will be shooting a video there too. We’d be happy to welcome you back if you have chance to visit again.
Wow you are such a good watch.Your attitude is great. You just enjoy your golf, even when it’s not going as you would like. Not like some RUclipsrs who throw their toys out of the pram when it’s not perfect golf.I like the way you talk us through each shot.Keep up the good work.
Loved this video and I will be in Portugal later this year at Praia d'El Rey, so it was great to get a look at the course from a golfing perspective. A small comment to your score on hole 5, when you holed out with the tap-in using the back of the putter, I looks very much that your feet were on different sides of the line of play, which would also give you a penalty stroke 🙂
Always entertaining Iona. I also learned some new colloquialisms: 'shipping boat to catch some fishies' (ok that was just dang cute) 'gotta have your putting boots on' 'that's a cream cracker' 'gowan gowan gowan gowaan' 'just tickle 'em' 'gave it some welly' 'a round of two hats' 😄✌🏽 Cheers! 🥃⛳
As always , excellent video, commentary, and lovely course, love the positivity, little Dove, always bring a smile to my face , and well done Emms , great camera work 😊
Iona, love the videos and your work with Sky. Early morning and late afternoon are my best times for golf. So peaceful and a great way to connect with you thoughts and clear your mind.
I watch a lot of golf content and thing I love about Iona is the endless possitivity. At the end of the day being out playing is a real privilege and I forget that sometimes myself.
You can take pills for that nowadays. But you are right, everyone should count their blessings.
@integralevideo ha yeah i get way too wrapped up in the score it ruins my day. Conversely if i chilled out a bit id score better and have more fun ha
Have a read of Harvey Penick. A tour pro was struggling, after their chat she says to Harvey “ I have to go and play now”. He stops her, grabs her hand and says” you get to go and play”. Changed her attitude and results.
Love watching you play golf iona, you bring such a positive attitude with you when ever you play, your content is infectious
She's getting paid to do it. Get a grip
As a greens keeper,I am hugely appreciative of the fact that you show how to repair divots and pitch marks! More to the game than whacking a ball in a hole. I hope people pay attention. Thanks for your videos, you are a superstar!
Not a greeens keeper but totaly agree with you. Everybody fix your divots and pitch marks as you could be in it next round.
Quickly becoming my favourite golfer on RUclips. Absolutely love Ionas energy! Those driver skills! Awesome!
She comes from the same place as me and we are very proud of her. I think she's brilliant.
(15:31) "I just love this game!"... 11 minutes later... (26:43) "Iona! God... I hate this game!!" Emily needs to get a drone for aerial shots and you can capture the shots-into-green approaches!!
Iona is such a lovely person! So positive, smart and talented.
Excellent.. Emma must be laughing "scalded cat" haven't heard that in a while! 😁
Iona, I don't get much free time especially as a dad to a lively 2 year old, but when I do and I'm not playing golf, I just LOVE watching your videos! Such positivity and enjoyment bursting from you through the screen and your insight helps me when I do get onto the course! Thank you and keep making incredible content as we all absolutely love it 🫶
Friday with Iona! What a great start to the weekend
Content is homespun, natural, and becoming my favorite You Tube creator
I love that you talk about missing a putt or chip being frustrating but still keep it positive and shake it off
Love the positivity exuding from Iona. I also learned three expressions that I haven't heard; here in Texas.
- a wild wee
- cream cracker
- a welly (?) Hope I got that right
I try to never miss an Iona video!
I love the morning golf!
Hey Iona,
I enjoyed your round! You hit slot of good shots. It looked like a tough course. It is a beautiful lay out. I really like the way you accelerate through the ball! Thanks for showing us this course. I have adopted the "chasing the Red' and found it an excellent way to keep the focus and achievable. didn't quite make it but close, next time... love it
That birdie putt at 12 was money!
Class Lona
I love the Chasing the Red concept. I'm using it as my guideline for this year, and hopefully, it will help me get less frustrated on the course. A four is always better than a five -- etc.
Cracking drive Iona. I'd love that. Very entertaining video. Thanks
Good score Iona on what looked like a tough course, Those greens looked very tricky
That “YES” on 7 green…I felt that. 😅
I like the Emily Measuring System on the Greens 🤣👌
Played there many times, worderful part of the world, Obidos nearby is stunning, San Martinho De Porto also.
Fairly good golf under tough conditions on a nice course in a beautiful place. 😍 👍🏽
Perfect place for enjoying a post round beverage 🍷 😋
A beautiful course, played by a beautiful person . Three more weeks , and I will be playing in Beleck Turkey, can not wait to tee off .
Lightening greens I remember playing it also West cliffs 2 really difficult golf courses.👍⛳️
West cliffs beat me up
As a 10hcp my red zone is to break 80 , enjoying this series and your production is top notch 👍
@ 13:00 - I hate getting up early enough for the best 'morning' golf, but love twighlight golf 😉. Fabulouse course.
What a great ambassador for golf you are Iona 👏🏴
Such a consistent striker of the ball. Very easy on the eye.
Allowing the backswing "time to mature" is a very interesting expression !
It's an expression Adam Scott uses in Iona's video with him.@@paulk5685
Beautiful course and love how you talk through your process. Keep up the amazing content. Would love to play a round with you one day!
I don’t get to play much these days but thanks to your videos you help keep me close to those lush fairways and velvety smooth greens, and keep the beautiful game of golf close to my heart. Thank you 🙏🥰
Good tip on the divot repair!
Great video again. I played there back in 2008 and it was amazing then. Looks just as good now. Obviously you played it much better than i did. 😂😂
Really nice looking course. Proving to give you some interesting misses. Love your positive attitude.
Absolutely adore the golf in that part of Portugal. ❤
What a great way to start a Saturday morning - the Iona way !!!!⛳️☀️
Matt Fryer featured this course this week. He must have been there the week before you. The storms were quite bad then. We must have been in Portugal the same time as you, when the weather was much better.

Another brilliant video from Iona…gorgeous track and she makes the game seem so easy… ❤
It was a pleasure to meet you on the 1st tee, and good to see you played the course much better than we did. Looking forward to seeing your West Cliffs video.
How good it would be to play a round of golf with Iona course looked in good nick and some lovely views.
Love Praia, been loads of times and back in September. Did you play west cliffs as well? Now that’s hard!!
What a course I had an apartment on the 1st, the coast line is fantastic. Hope you enjoyed it.
Just watching this now after a hard week.
So relaxing to watch iona with feet up, and a cheeky bushmills. You really Struggled there Iona ☹️
Played this course and west cliffs with my family for my 18th. Absolutely loved it. Wind was off the land when we played which is very unusual but meant the holes by the sea played very short which made for some memorable scores on the most memorable holes.

I loved it. That’s all.
Excellent video and the "Chasing the Red" idea is super. Loved watching you play and I was impressed with your tee-shots.
Please do not take my earlier comment on your tap-in putt too seriously, it was intended to be tongue-in-cheek.
Wow, course looks stunning. Your commentary and explanation are great. Even with a bogey you remain positive… great lesson for us all.
Them greens looked flat and fantastic, plus the views were special. Enjoyed your golf.
I totally agree with you Iona, there is something very satisfying playing from an elevated tee. I love them :)
So many channels teach golf. Iona shows you what a good attitude and great composure can achieve. Lots a talent helps too 😆
Positivity aplenty, love your content and chasing the red as a concept. Nice way to target under handicap for me, now down to 15!
Iona is just the best 🥃
I thoroughly enjoy watching the calmness of the way you play golf, lots of good content, and very informative 😄

You and your team produce some really enjoyable golf content. Cheers
Some fantastic shots in that round. Slightly scrappy early doors, too early for you I think. Stunning scenery, great camera work, almost rescued it near the end.
The Birdie Celebration on #7 - Priceless.
Breaking the red for me is to score under 90. Just subscribed. Great video Iona.
Another great episode Iona! My chasing the red goal is to shoot under 80. I did it a couple times last year and looking to better that this year. You inspire me!
Another great video Iona. Looks like a fabulous course, chasing the red might just get me ready for a weekend of ⛳️! Cheers
Great video Iona, just what I needed while in hospital recovering from stomach surgery. No golf here for a while.
Chasing your own version of the red - never thought it like that - I'm now having more fun and being easier on myself like the lady said - great advice.
Really enjoyed this longer 18 hole video. Hopefully some more of these to come in future. Always look forward to your videos, keep up the great work ❤
I played this course a few years ago ,still looks great
Super round Iona, Thanks for a great watch!
4:12 Your driving is a thing of beauty. One of the smoothest swings on YT.

Great course vlog Iona 🎉
Tough course with quirky greens. Another great watch showcasing good golf …👍⛳️
What a beautiful sight ❤. I’m going to Portugal later this year! Love it there, they really know how to make tea as well! 😂
I absolutely love the content Iona . I watch a lot of different golf channels and you are 1 of my favourites
Simply great.
So good to watch. Such a great easy swing. Tubes and Ange got me on to this and glad they did 🏌️♂️
