I just got my Hoss seeds!!! I am 72 and this will be my 2nd year for gardening. I always worked, worked, worked and was (is) a city girl. Nope no dirt thank you. BUT NOW I have 2 8'x4' raised beds my dear son made me, and I'm am adding 8-10 containers. Thanks for shout out for Zone 8. I'm in Tumwater WA. I am SOOO excited, as my Uncle WB used to say, "I am so excited I could spit!' LOL I bought the Hoss Acre Homestead container collection. Tomatoes, peppers, beans, cucumbers, flowers, and much more. Includes 22 seed packets!!!!! Its under Premium Garden Seeds in the Collections. Now I'm going to get the Sunflowers for perimeter of my garden!!! Yep I'm excited!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@CogHillFarmPodcast You guys Rock!!
Good luck with your beautiful garden!
I have showed my hubby your beautiful animals and farm and told him what he has to look forward to when he retires! I keep telling him I want a zoo! I can't wait!
👏 Red Snapper is officially back in stock! We'll get ya some headed your way!
I just placed an order. Had an issue using code, but after deleting code, and re-entering after talking to your office. Everything worked out. Thank you. 😊 I have just one more issue, you don't ship or sell strawberries to New York. Heeeee, heeeee. I couldn't get any last year either from anyone. 😔 😟 🙁 😥. G-D Bless.
@@angelsarrived2642 Glad it all worked out! We will have more Strawberries later in the year and hopefully be able to ship out to more states this year! :) We appreciate the support!
@@gardeningwithhoss Thank you. 😊 😇 Put me on the waiting list for the Strawberries. New York.
I just got my order in this week from Hoss Tools. Getting my stuff together to make some new aboveground beds for the front yard.
Opening gifts with the old barn and license plates as the backdrop will look cool if you have enough space to set up for filming
What is the name of the new gate closure? Oh my! That would help Jake and Lester sooo much to be able to swing a gate closed!!! I love your channel so much!
I'm so happy for you that you finally found a plumber!
I had a plan once... but you know how that goes.
By the wayside as always.
Or sideways! :-)
I always say "I make plans and God laughs."
speaking of indulging Mary Carl's love of birds......Lester's ostriches laid their first egg! ooops....shhhh, nobody tell her! lol ;)
You can order plastic boulders that look real and weigh nothing. We used them for a Eagle Scout project my youngest son did for his Eagle. Just look them up on the internet.
I think they have enough real stones to not need any substitutes.
Dewalt makes an attachment that fits onto their cordless drill that's a metal shear. My husband has one and he loves it. We bought it at Home Depot for around $70.
Thanks!!
Good morning!! I’m so happy you decided to put a bathroom in the garage. I would definitely put a shower in too! I had mentioned a mud room , but in the garage would be perfect! I love seeing your progress on your houses! Thank you for taking us along with you on your build! I love all of your animals and so wish I had lived on our farm as an adult! I loved growing up on one. Love from Hanford, CA.
Be happy MaryCarl’s obsession is birds and not a big animal!
My husband grows yellow watermelons. He planted them everywhere. I have no idea what they are called. They are our favorite.
Good Morning Jason and Brooke! I'm having my coffee and breakfast enjoying your podcast, I'm in heaven this morning! So happy you have a plumber, one issue you don't need to worry about! Have a great week, weather looks real good. Love and prayers❤🙏🏻❤🙏🏻❤🙏🏻❤
Sounds like your in for a good day today . The concreat looks beautiful too. Everyday things are looking good. There seems like there’s always something to to be thankful for. God is good! I can’t wait till the walls start to go up.
And also I love the barn with your signs! You guys are great people!
Bought my seeds from Hoss and used your code ... THANK YOU :) I have a small back porch bucket garden, zone 7a. Got my seeds started .. woot
When I was young I raised Homing Pigeons. We would crate them up and back in the day when we had railroad stations, we would sent them and the conductor would turn them loose at a certain time. We would wait for them to come home. I belonged to a racing pigeon club and we would race the pigeons. I loved involvement with the pigeons, we also raised rollers. They would go up about three or four hundred foot high and then throwing their heads back and roll down to about thirty foot. They loved rolling...
Huh oh! I can just see Marycarl thinking she wants to see those Rollers in action.
Have a cousin now nearing 70, hubby is in his 70ties who have been breeding & flying homers since way back. They've now retired to a small holding close to the east coast with their "babies". Their club has a special trailer with pidgeon cages (easier transportation than trains!) to let their birds fly home.
Good Morning Jason and Brooke and of course Marycarl!
I am so very happy that you finally have a plumber to do your work. And everything is going as best it can. The Barn looks great with some of the tags. ❤❤❤❤
I think you should make peaches shelter into a Canham so she won’t feel left out
Thank you for the smiles, ☺️ They make craft kits, for boulders, and trees. Maybe a good project for MC.
Once again I wasn't disappointed in your blog. You had me at good morning cog family.
I'm so happy for you to get a plumber just 5 mins away. So happy pinky was in the barn😊
Hi Brooke and Jason, got my Cog Hill Sunflowers seeds! Great collection ! Came so fast in mail. Nice Cog Hill tin too!
Thanks for Tomatoe seeds! Looking forward to spring!
Brook, hearing your excitement in your voice makes me excited to see it all. The house is going to be beautiful! Love watching as it gets built to. Love that you guys share your lives with us. I look every day for your videos. Love you all.
CutiePies, both you youngins!!! Love you sharing your life with us! Thank you and God Bless you and everyone at the Cog Squad!
You guys are living life and I truly enjoy your videos! Keep up the "GOOD JOB!"
Between the sunflowers and the veggies I’m so excited. Made me miss my Dad and his garden. Guess I’ll have to live my younger years through you. God Bless.
Once you get settled in your new home you should try drying some of your favorite seeds in case there comes a time when there are a shortage of seed availability,
Good morning Cog Hill Farm and Cog Squaders. If MaryCarl is planning on having flying pidgeons, rollers, tumblers, homing and several others she will need to have another pidgeon palace for them. With pidgeons you need to have a three section loft so you can keep the males, females and breeding pairs in separate sections, also they should be cleaned daily and fed twice daily without a permanent feeding stations like chickens do. They do need access to permanent water though.
Good grief!
once the garage floor goes in and you empty the pods you might be able set up a little homey space so you can spread out a bit from camper life.
Wouldn’t it be great to put in a large garage shower that could be used as walk in shower if needed in the future. We recently took out our tub and put in shower that us old folks could easily use.
Look on RUclips how to make artificial boulders with cement. It might be a fun project and satisfy MaryCarl's desire for boulders. Also, she may like a RUclips channel called Birdtricks.
Things are coming along on the 40. I really do enjoy seeing it come together from the start. I mentioned before how much I am learning from it all. Blessings to all of you.
Good morning Cog Hill and all of the Cog Squad. Love the barn. Glad Pink has no problems with the pet door. Looking forward to seeing your garden.
Jason and Brooke I saw how another channel made a root cellar using metal trash cans. So it's an idea. Hope ya'll know how much you make others lives better. Mary Carl girl think of now and down the road for your birds. Hugs 🤗
I love your get stuff done spirit Brooke.
Yay! Cog Hill in the morning!
I bought two of your tee shirts, WHICH I LOVE AND WEAR ALL THE TIME......and I also bought SIX of your hats (pond fund)..........I would LOVE a shirt that said COG SQUAD on it!
Love you guys!!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Me also!
Oh I’d love a Cog Squad shirt, too!
Hello, Cog Hill Squad and Family….I’m watching replay due to another Livestream this morning watching a Great Lakes tanker got stuck in the ice on the river and since I grew up watching these things, I needed to watch..and it took all day.😂😅. Your podcast was so informative…sorry about the shower panel…I pray all goes well and you get a new one with no problem. I’m glad you have a plumber, please pay a deposit…that guarantees contract. Make sure it’s in writing and signed…trust me from experience. Contract on paper, not shake of hands. I’m excited for your garden, too. Love ya guys💕💕💕🙏🏻🙋🏼♀️
GOOD FINE MORNING. I Love you and THANKFUL I can see your FAMILY VLOGS. Love the tag's on the barn door. Clean off your earphone's..might help with the itch. MAYBE bring extra bottles of WATER to the tin can. GOD BLESS YOU ALL FROM SE MICHIGAN 🌹🀄🀄🛐✝️ 🌹. I hope the new owners are HAPPY living in a warmer state. The property was so beautiful. Give them my love and prayers.
I just got my Cog Hill Farm Sunflower Collection! I'm so excited to try them! 🌻💝
We cannot wait to see all of the tags on the barn it's going to look great and we are anticipating seeing the final destination of all the tags that y'all have received on that tin barn!😎
Good morning Cog Hill Family and Cog Squad. Yup, it's time to think about starting seeds for the gardens this year. Good thing I have everything I need.
Hey they make the metal shearer that fits on your cordless drill!! It works amazing 😉
Sweet!!! Thx!
Found it from living traditions
Homestead. What a life saver!!!’
@@CogHillFarmPodcast Jason since you talked about your freeze dryer ( possibly) and your vegetables... got a little Tip for you on a tomato.. if they do well in your zone.
Research " pineapple tomato". I bought 1 plant last year and let my neighbor grow it in her garden. (She is planting 2 or 3 this year) It is a LARGE tomato (could be up to 2lbs) and the inside is like solid tomato meat. very little juicy liquid pulp and I'm thinking this would be perfect to freeze dry. And the flavor... to die for!!
Thanks you all! Be safe and stay warm! God bless!♥️🙏✌️💪🦋
I just ordered my seeds from hoss’s. I also ordered there seed tray. So excited we can’t plant plant outside till after May 31st. Next to get two green stalk planters. Thanks for the codes! Love to watch and listen to you. Every video.
Sorry I am late in posting this. Glad to hear about the garden. Love your videos and podcasts. Stay warm y'all.
I saw your sunflower collection from Hoss. They came out after I bought my seeds. However the sunflowers seeds I did buy are 2 inches tall already.
🙌🙌🙌❤️
Setting in place the first garden of the new Cog Hill. Can't wait to see the process begin!!
Fiberglass boulders for the pigeon palace. Easy to add/remove, come in different colors (limited), and no maintenance. A small fiberglass pond / waterfall in the pigeon palace from Home Depot or Lowes. Something easily removable.
O gosh. I can’t wait to see the flowers. I love plants 🪴. Flower 🌸. Good morning to everyone. Have a great day.
So glad you got a plumber! Coming together! Yea! Love the barn!
Good morning Cog Hill family and critters!!❤️
Hey y'all. Let me just say most of us in NC/VA are DONE with all this frozen stuff around here. Ready for 🌷🌱🌿🌺🌸
Virginia's last frost date is April 15th.
Y'all gotta 'nother round coming.
Seems like it's every weekend. 🤦♀️❄🌧🌨
My 2 cent from NC.. You are soooo RIGHT about this cold weather! I can't bring myself to even go to walmart because of this cold !!
Thankful and hopeful your plumbing problems are taken care of !! I love your garage door and tags look great zen love y’all ❤️❤️👏😘✝️🙋🏻
Thanks for the update on seeds and types of plants! Always enjoy hearing what others are planting!!
When MaryCarl is all grown up and has her own farm she can have everything and Dad can help her
Love your family and all the animals! I watch all your videos and the pod cast! Ordered my seeds through your link and was very surprised they shipped the next day. I’m excited to grow them because I always had gotten seeds from Walmart and they were hit or miss. Thanks for all the info on the different seeds. I won’t be planting till May-June here in Central New York. ❤️
I so enjoyed the Podcast today on the progress of the plumbing situation, continuance of the home building and most of all....the seed information. I ordered my seeds today from Hoss. I'm a newbie of how to plant the seeds in a starter unit with a grow light. Jason, I look forward to your video on how to do this. I live on the West coast of Florida so I hope your video comes out soon so I know how to plant soon. I love your Podcasts, you, Brooke and MaryCarl.
I ordered the Cog Hill seed collection. Hope they will do well here in ABQ, New Mexico.
Jason- I start zucchini now(I’m in 8b) and get them in the ground early as possible(Mar15th)to beat the squash vine bore bug! They start showing up when it gets hot. Good luck!
My uncle used to race homing pigeons they had leg bans that you took off and clocked in with a time clock they flew hundreds of miles
HEY GUYS JUST ORDERED MY SUN FLOWER BOX SET I LOVE THEM IN THE SUMMER TIME AND THE BIRDS DO TO LOVE WHAT YOUALL ARE DOING THANKS FOR SHARING KNOXVILLE TN
Even though I’m 5B , I placed my order weeks ago, and received them last week. I also ordered the Cog Hill sunflower collection. 😀 we start ours seeds indoors in March.
I can't wait to see your garden grow and the flower farm i know will be spectacular! MaryCarl has such good ideas for the pigeon palace but I know how things can get out of hand. Even if she doesn't get any new birds (which I'm sure she will) the ones she has will lay eggs and I know she will want to hatch them. I know her pigeon palace will be wonderful and I can't wait to see it all fixed up. 🥰🥰🥰
That's awesome to hear that you have lined up another plumber.
Congratulations on your plumber!! I can't imagine what a relief that is!
YES!! so glad to hear you say you are adding a bathroom in the garage area to use when you're out working !! And do at least the rough in for a shower🙂
Wow, guys I love ya’ll including MaryCarl. I am so excited for seeing your flower and vegetable gardens, and finishing the Purple Pigeon Palace and the next projects on your new homes . God bless ya’ll! G Ma Lois in MN..
**GARAGE SHOWER** YES!!!!!!!!
While you’re at it, do a boot scrubbing station-grate area with a low wall faucet! An invaluable farm accessory!
Brooke, I hope you make a list so you can remember all the stuff to take when you go get the replacement panel for the shower, so you take back the wrong stapler gun, and get the three boards for the Purple Pigeon Palace! I know you have so many details but it looks like it is all coming together! 😊
I ordered the set of seeds and they got to me so quickly! Can't wait to plant, here in Michigan. Great video, I'm glad things are moving along.
Love the way you both light up with excitement on future plans.
I absolutely love the homing pigeon idea! They are super awesome birds, and get ya out there in the world to release them from new places.
Jason, have you ever looked into the Abor Day Foundation? I know they ultimately want you to buy through them to support the nonprofit, but I did the survey and donated $10, and they are sending my multiple trees and shurbs specifically picked for my region. I can let you know it they do infact send me all that was promised.
MaryCarl will never quit dreaming. I am 79 and still have big dreams still. At age 75 I did my first build ever a chicken house and run. I have since built 3 more. On my main coup I just installed a automatic chicken door. This was a nightmare. The door went on easy and works creat. The problem was getting permanent power to the coop. I ended up ordering a Jackery 300. And a 100 w solar panel. Sounds easy not so. The door kept turning off after running about 12 hours. After many E-Mails to Jackery and the. Door company, I found out the the Jackery has a power saver that turns off in about 12 hrs if there is not at least 10w of power pulling on the Jackery. The answer I just ordered a exhaust fan with a 110 AC plug. My dreams never stop. Go girl. Enjoy ever day of your life.
Just put in my seed order at Hoss Tools. I’m so excited!!
I collected me seeds from my garden can’t wait for spring. I and my husban have heath problem so I removed the tub and installed only a walki in shower and bought a handicapped bench and handle. Works very well and cost less than a 1000$
Heads up: when you freeze dry your tomatoes, either cut them in half or puncture them. I watched a video yesterday of a tuber that didn't do either with her grape and cherry tomatoes and her tomatoes exploded all over her freeze dryer, she had a MAJOR mess in her freeze dryer. Mary Carl might like renting white doves out to weddings, if that's legal in Alabama. I love her ideas with her purple pigeon palace. She is above and beyond in her knowledge for fowl and just as beautiful as she is intelligent!! Enjoy all your videos. Every week is exciting watching what you three accomplish. Love seeing Jason dance again!!! Big Smiles!!!
I've seen on the internet a large Boulder used as the beginning place to start a waterfall by pool/pond. Forgot the name of the channel. Their in I think, Arizona and have goats and chickens 🐔. Lumnah Acres purchased one of their goats two years ago. ______ and _______ is their name. Too early in the morning, I'm not fully awake. Going for my 🍵. Lol Up date. Remembered, Weed'em and Reap.
You guys inspired me so much I ordered my seeds while listening to the podcast! Thanks so much!
Thanks, Jason for wearing your "Turnip the Beets" t-shirt today! I have some beets in the fridge and I had forgotten them! I will boil them up tonight!
Be neighborly and share with your neighbors. This tells how good the plants will grow.., hey call Mr Greg to come get some
My grandpa races pigeons. I showed him the video of when you first showed us the Victorian crown pigeons. He was happy to see someone interested in pigeons.
I started with two young pidgeons that dad brought home from work, where wild pidgeons would nest on crates of knockdown VW car parts, from which Australian built VW cars were manufactured.
That ultimately was over 40 pidgeons, with fantsils, tumblers and a number of pedigree birds that joined my flock.
Originally I kept them in a smalish cage where I also had various other pets including reptiles.. After about a year, with about 10 pidgeons I risked losing a few and let some three out. Two vanished for several days then reappeared sitting on top of the cage along with the third that sat there all the time. I had no easy way to let them back in. Dad added a top extension with one way access in, hanging bars. Soon after feeding in the morning, I just left the cage door open till going to school, all pidgeons flew around all day and by evening would return in via the one way gate. The flock grew with young ones and a number of others joining from free flocks. But some banded pedigree pidgeons too. Others I got from friends, swapped etc.
Well I took some in a little box trailer attached to my bike, many km away and let them loose. Every time they were at home before I got there riding the bike.
Many years later as I finished my engineering degree and got my first 4WD vehicle, I took some severak hundred km away to let them out. Again most made it home before I arrived back. Finally my parents needed me to get rid of the entire pet cage, as it occupied part of our suburban block that a house extension was planned to occupy, and I was now working and having little time for all the pets. Decision was to clear all away.
I gave most pidgeons away, but they kept coming back. I took some 500km away across most of our state, across mountains and forests..Let 25 , not fancies like fantails or tumblers but fast racing types, go and all were home when I got there.
With no facilities and no feeding it took over 5 years before the last pidgeons left or passed on. Until then we had them roosting on our house and garage roof each night.
That is dedicated ......
HOMING PIDGEONS.
A shower in the garage is also a great place to wash your dogs.
I just ordered my seeds this morning. Plant purchase will wait until closer to my planting date which is June 1st. I love watching others plant and share their experience.
I remember last year just when the corn was ready to harvest is when you got sick from that tick bite. Praying this year is a much better year. Great podcast Cog Hill Framers.
Yes, a small shower in the garage is a great idea. You can always put a small wall heater in the the bathroom. Don't forget a vent fan in there too.
I've planted my Hoss seeds , tomato (3 types) , pepper ,herbs, and cucumbeer Indoors, zone 8 in NE Texas , getting ready to plant in my garden in 3-4 weeks. Love watching you guys and learning so much about farm animals and gardening tips.
So grateful that your podcasts are also available through my ipad podcast. It means I can listen to it while doing things I do not need to have my full attention on 🥰 Now I’m running it again on RUclips 🤗 I’m not much of an gardener and have no garden, but the enthusiasm in your voice when you talk about plants is very infectious. If I had a garden I would definitely give gardening a try. Thank you for a very interesting podcast!
When you put the shower in the garage suggest you add a hand shower so you can clean your feet off easily AND rinse the dogs off. I love the waterpik prp-252 shower sprayer attachment - great for dogs
God puts you in contact with the person or company you truly need and can trust to be honest.
Yes. Love your mail times . U do a wonderful job keeping us happy
With all you videos. Love to see the gifts . Granny from Destin . 🤩😄🐣🐓
Good Morning Cog Hill Family!
On the tub for your mom, if in the future she finds she cannot step over the tub, an opening can be cut into it. They did this in my mother's assisted living home. It doesn't cost much, looks fine. a fiberglass insert is put in to cover all the edges.
Yes I told my granddaughter it was a teddy bear and then I read the name. 😂 I picked up the Cog Hill sunflower pack. We are very excited to plant them!! I'm in California 9b. I also have the tomato seeds. Thanks Cog Hill 😘
I got my Cog Hill sunflower collection today!! I can’t wait to plant them!!
Thank you for all the info on the seeds. My order came in fast from Hoss. I used your code without a problem! Glad you have a plummer! OXOXO to all ❤️
I've got the Hossinator and can't wait to try them. I've got all, maybe lol, my seeds for 2022. I'm having a hard time locating starting medium or the components to make my own locally. I've got a couple more weeks before I start. Here's hoping!
I got my Cog Hill sunflowers and free tomato seeds. I live in a small townhouse but the yard will be packed with grow bags this year! So exciting 😁🍅🌻
Was sooo Good visiting with you today! 😁 Thanks for coming!
And Thanks for another great podcast!! Much love from ks💕
Home Depot has always sent the replacement to my house without returning anything! A couple of times they sent me another set! LOL Many times the store told me the same thing and i asked to speak to their manager- and didn't have to pay again or nothing the store did the re-order of the same item- no charge
BROOKE & JASON....Take note!!!
