Hey Andrew, it's time for another video interview with your dad.😁 This time, let's talk about the farm when he was younger. How has he changed things since he took over? And is there anything you would change when you boys take over? Callie is getting so grown up already, such a cutie pie💜
Big time. Minnesota is the classic. Minneapolis is terrible and declining fast. The farms and country are full of families like this one. Godbless our farmers.
I'm sure you know, but for others that may not know. To tell if a watermelon is ready to be picked in the field. There is a curly "tendril" on the vine where the watermelon stem is attached. If it is green, the watermelon is still growing. If it is completely dry, brownish, it is ready to be picked. I grew up in east Texas and picked watermelon for local farmers. Much bigger melons back then.
We are from Georgia and used to have a problem with birds pecking the tomatoes til someone told me they are after the water, not the tomatoes. Just do an experiment and put out a couple flat trays of water in the watermelon patch. It worked for us. They drank the water and left the tomatoes alone.
Love the fun fact about Petey. Never thought about him being unable to do the clutch without having to stand up and step on it. But yeah I can see it. He is a smaller guy.
As a long time viewer and subscriber, it is amazing to see you walking through the sweet corn and to think it wasn't that long ago those little corn plants were popping up from the soil and into their little artificial greenhouses. To see those beautiful corn stalks so tall above the remnants of the plastic mulch is nothing short of miraculous. --- Keith

Hey, Andrew! Watching Callie with her ear of corn gave me an idea. How about Veggie Girl or Veggie Kids? Watching her excitedly eating veggies with that cute little grin would be an influence for good in our society. Maybe you could start off small with cameos each week, and as she gets older and more vocal she could branch off. ❤
Nancy, ME TOO. HERE SINCE DAY ONE. & LOVIN' IT! ❤❤❤ This family is incredible. My Slovak mom was from PA, & she remembers this farm 🚜 years ago!! God bless you all and many prayers 🙏🏻 Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ and Eucharistic Minister 🙏🏻 how's Uncle doing? Still prayers 🙏🏻 for him.
Pioneer Valley MA (CT river valley) picked 1000's of cukes for Oxford Pickle. They use old trucks with platforms on rear and both sides - the pickers, on their stomachs, threw the cukes over their heads into the center.
Paint some of those big rocks green before the melons even come on and when the birds peck they won’t get anything so when the melons DO come on they won’t bother. Works on strawberries too.
Attention @The Veggie Boys it's Official sir ones vlogs are exceedingly Veggietastic and thats the way I like em 😂😂😂. This delightful message is traveling to you from Jolly Old England 🏴
Ive picked many of veggies in a pile after the pickers had been there. It was free to me and i gave it to people who couldnt afford 1st quality veggies. It was super PR for the farmer!! Any herbs, fennel pollen brings real big $$.
You can tell everyone is more comfortable in front of the camera now lol. Keep up the great job everyone. Looks a lot better from last year. How are the cherry peppers coming along
As always, love Bryan's sense of humor. His ears do seem a lot bigger though! And there's Meme! A loving family with a great bond. :-) So many of us are praying for you, Veggie Funkle, and your wonderful nurse Ronda, too.
So great! Glad you have been harvesting delicious beautiful sweet corn. Glad to you were able to get a lot of nice cukes, and broccoli. All good. Very nice too you have loyal customers both at the farm shop and your commercial clients.
Any advice on harvesting cucumbers or any other tis-bits that you have are little nuggets of gold that help us all shine as gardeners. The more you say, the better . Maybe the chickens would profit from some of the cucumber casualties. Surely, the soil will reclaim the plant and vegetable casualties. All in all, you get a boat-load of vegetables from every crop. Your family business is sooo professional year after year and keep getting bigger and better in the produce production and gleaning knowledge to be ahead of the game. Wowza, your corn harvesting skills are amazing !!
So I fight the birds each year, from them eating my newly planted seeds to my fruit. What has worked very well for me is flash tape. I hang it on poles and wrap it around my plants. I didn't have to replant anything, and my harvest has been so nice.
First time I’ve watched, love it, by the way we have issues with coyotes in CT, they know the night before it’s ready to pick and show up and have a party.😮
Hey why not get a drone with enough range and some lights to take a flight through the fields at night? Might discourage a few critters and you might not have to leave the house depending on distance. Perhaps someone in family lives close enough to the fields to run it through the fields once in a while or by the trees.
Hey Andrew and Crew, maybe you can grow Melons in tunnel tents but the right size to walk through. Not the plastic tunnels because they get to hot in the sunshine. Those but made of fine fabric are the best i guess. I also know that the white powder on the Nightshade family can be cured with calcium..... Its just a tip and maybe i said something stupid now but i saw a lot farmers/gardeners using calcium to get rid of the powder. Thanks for sharing!!!
Please tell Pete, I’m a 40 yr master plumber, had to put a bag of concrete on seat of the skid steer so I could fill my ditches. I just saw the superintendent get off it and couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t crank for me….
I don’t know why I thought your Farm was in kutztown pa. Your farm is actually close to where a grew up in Bloomsburg pa. I am definitely going to have to come check it out next time I’m home. I thought you guys seamed like homeboys. Lol

I appreciated the clear explanation of how precision agriculture technology works. Very helpful
Veggie boys and stable life exemplify the American way!! Hats off to these guys and girls

That would attract other animals like skunk and deer and bears! And that would devastate the crops!
Love the fun fact about Petey. Never thought about him being unable to do the clutch without having to stand up and step on it.

Exactly how my brother learned to drive our truck on our farm. Stand on the pedals while steering.
Glad to see the bears and skunks are giving you a break.
I’d buy a bucket full of the damaged stuff for my chickens as long as it is a discounted price. My chickens love that stuff

When you and your brothers were young, did your dad raise vegetables on the same number of acres? Who worked in the fields back then?
We raise more now

Love seeing the less than perfect veggies set to become perfect in the years to come. ❤

Love your channel, you have a beautiful farm, love those sweet corn’s 👋
Hello everyone
Your broccoli looks great! In my zone 7B broccoli was done a month ago, from heat and harlequin bugs. May try again in August.
First time I’ve watched, love it, by the way we have issues with coyotes in CT, they know the night before it’s ready to pick and show up and have a party.😮
matt lost some weight he looking buff now
Our corn crop was awesome this year considering the corn was planted in a raised bed! Each ear was perfect and insect free!!
