Showers: get the smooth wall shower. I spray my down before I get in. After my shower then take a window squeeze,, clean the walls just like a window. These are so easy and quick to clean.
Jason, you are extremely talented in filming and editing these videos. The music is perfectly matched to the video action(s). Then, you're a dancer, a gardener, and a true lover of animals. You're a renaissance man--an extremely talented renaissance man, and Brooke is the luckiest women in the world. My fav. thing about Jason is his fertile imagination. How he has conversations with the animals and pretends like they answer him. At least I think he's pretending.🤪
We built our dream home about 10 years ago. I wanted a pot filler. My builder asked me why? Well, because it’s heavy. His answer was, you will still have to carry it to the sink to empty it. He told me the extra cost ….I don’t have a pot filler and don’t miss it or regret.
well, evaporation makes the emptying less heavy but i get your point :)

It’s called a Victrola! Love the white noise of the old records .. the snaps, pops, and crackles are soothing to me!
If I am not mistaken Victrola was the most popular brand of phonograph sold not the player it’s self. Like all carbonated beverages being called coke.

That tub is AWESOME!!! GREAT PICK! :) Jason's urinal needs to be in a little "water closet" then no one will have to look at "his mess" and he can clean it. My husband said he wishes we would have put one in our bathroom and I told him, if he wants one, he can put it in his garage (ours is heated and we live in IL) and he can be responsible for cleaning it. :) If you are building from scratch, put in what you want. I think it's great! Then everyone is happy. :)
FYI My niece and I take a picture of the rabies certificate for each dog that she has. When we take them to the groomers or we have to go to another veterinarian because of an emergency, we have a copy of the rabies certificate and other shot records on our cell phones. That way we have their shot records at all times. Love your videos!

I don't have a "pot filler" in my kitchen.....but I think it would be SUPER HANDY to have!!
I have to laugh, my 19-22 year old grandsons all 3 asked for records, vinyls they call them, for Christmas. They all wanted record players for birthdays. I scouted all the Goodwill’s, second-hand stores, and junk shops to find some that they wanted. Jason, I think what your Mom wants to give you is a Victrola. I wish I had the one that my brothers and I grew up with. We’d put one of the thick records on, wind it up, and dance. Good times.

My grandparents had a wind up record player.
I still have my parents 78's of big band and Jazz Singers. I love music...never got into dirty rap nor heavy metal.

It's so interesting hearing you talk about Jason taking the time to choose the right music. I just absolutely love the mashup of the last highlights of the animals and the music combined at the end of the videos. It just goes together so well and it is really well thought out. Brings out a good warm fuzzy feeling.
Also, my daughter thanks me a lot for introducing her to "real" music and having good taste.

Hahahaha a urinal! Actually he's right about the seat staying down. I can't tell you how many times I've gone to pee in the middle of the night and made the mistake of NOT turning on the lights. What a rude awakening that is!
Being the only female with 5 males that put the seat down hardly ever happened...oh that water is cold on the tush.
I totally agree my hubby and I were listening to this podcast at the same time and I said wow I wonder why she doesn’t want him to have a urinal? I would LOVE it if you had one!! He said why? No pee on the seat, no seat left up and more importantly no sitting on the seat and noticing pee splatter on the walls or the floor!! Now I totally get that you sure wouldn’t want to be seated and have the urinal right next to you but how about a water closer just for Jason! It could have a urinal and a sink, easy peasy. Then he will have his stuff to keep it clean kept under the sink.
As for a pot filler by your stove that could be a HUGE blessing for anyone who likes canning or making big batches of soup. No need to carry heavy pots of water over to the stove, it would a wonderful feature that you may not appreciate now Brooke but as you get older much older then you are you may not be able to lift and move heavy pots around. It also helps with the cleanup too! You can fill the pot with hot water while doing the other dishes and it can be soaking. I don’t know if I had an option I’d definitely want one and I don’t think it would leak anymore then a kitchen tap that’s connected to a hot water tank? Seems to me it would be just as well constructed and if it’s not the plumber better be ready to fix it PDQ(pretty darn quick)🥰🙏🏻🇨🇦

I could talk music and dancing with Jason...I used to be a ballroom dance teacher and before that I went to Nashville and sang with the band from Brooks and Dunn. Also, got a chance years ago to open a concert for Randy Travis. Please don't think I am bragging, I give all the glory to God.....He gives us our talents and good gifts. Brooke you and I have very similar personalities, we'd be cracking up all the time. Anyhow, I just love listening and watching your family of humans and animals grow, discover and share knowledge. Build your house and plant grass and then wait a year to see where all the grass is worn. Then see where you want to put walkways. Put something at the bottom of the orchard hill so you have a reason to walk through the orchard.

I believe a Whole House Fan is essential to cool the house as the days heat up. You can cool the house down quickly when windows are mostly closed up or to draw fresh air through at night.
I appreciate the time Jason spends choosing the music, I enjoy it so much.
Plan for infrastructure in the bath room walls for ADA bars and by the commode. You might put in the ADA height commode right now. You will need extra wood in the walls in the correct locations for the bars.

Bidet for the bathroom too!! They are wonderful! After you've had one, you would not go without one ever again! Especially as you get older! Nana would love one! A urinal is a great idea too as long as I wouldn't have to see it! In an enclosure would be good just as toilets and bidets should be! I'm all about privacy especially if it's the only bathroom for visitors! Great idea, Jason!

I have a Toto bidet/toilet in one. It’s a game changer.
Especially with TP shortages, husband and I both love both of ours. Was $100 at Lowes before the shortages. Very easy to install, no heat though.

Cracking up laughing....Brook "Men are just gross!" 😂 Brooke, I grew up with all sisters but I have all males for children. When I was growing up it was my job to clean the bathroom so I was used to get in and get out with the cleaning...BUT...it was a whole other story getting used to cleaning up after males. I am so thankful my guys never got the idea for a urinal because every time I was in the bathroom and saw it I would be cutting my eyes over at it and...well, I won't tell you what I would be thinking, lol. I feel your frustration sister!

The Kelleys’s Country Life has the best Pole Barn build I seen on RUclips. Andrew has built, planned and video the entire process, Near Tallahassee, his HVAC system would be essential for your house. I’m sure he would email you specific information that would save tons on money, long term…system, comfort and power bills.🙏

We have one! Hubs and I had our home custom-built 15 years ago. I was all for it, too!
Funny story - so during construction, I get a phone call from the plumber's secretary asking at what height did I want the urinal... I told her I didn't know, but I'd call her back. Part of the reason my husband wanted one is because he's 6'3" tall. I knew we had to get this right and the plumber's secretary and myself were NOT fit for the job! Hubs ended up leaving work to personally show the on-site plumber exactly where he wanted it (thankfully!) and neither of us has regretted the decision to go this untraditional route.
Who would have thought? A tall plumber of course!!! Lol!
Just curious, are you going to introduce Brook's Mom to us? She must be lovely and a super woman to be happy with all the changes. Best to all!
They have said in the past that Brook’s mom has made the personal choice of not appearing in videos and they respect her wishes. Brooke has mentioned that she has often present when they video but stays silent and out of camera view. Maybe one day she’ll change her mind, or not….
I understand she doesn't want to be in the videos. I wouldn't either. It would be great to get a glimpse of her standing/sitting on her porch waving bye to us. She has to be a great woman..she raised Brooke and helps with Mary Carl. And she loves cats and Moody. ❤

My favorite showers had swing doors...not sliders...so much easier to clean !
Make sure there’s a motion light near the urinal.
Don’t let your contractors forget to insulate your walls and pipes so you don’t have extra noises while recording in the house.
I think the contactor is building until "in the dry" whatever that means 😅. Not sure if the contractor or Jason and Brooke are putting up the sheetrock. But that is a good idea to insulate the pipes in the walls..as long as mice do not like the insulation material. I know they like the coating on automobile wires 😳.
I can say I feel like your videos have stepped up a level because of the music! Not that they weren't awesome before, but the music lends a new level of emotion or something. Really amazing job and we all appreciate it!!

Our Walmart put Valentine’s Day stuff out before Christmas Day even came! Maybe yours has St Patrick’s Day stuff instead of Valentines due to supply chain issues!
I watch Tracy at Just Dig it ... all the time. She and Gene are great people and share so very much. That will be a great event, wish I lived closer. I love learning from Tracy, she is so calm and knowledgeable that she shares so graciously. She is going to do a garden design series, she told me last week. I love the tub and the faucet set. Great choice.

You DEFINEITLY want your shower and bathroom walls framed in for grab bars and set up for a grab pole. Ypu don't need to add the bars but when the need comes, it is often after an incident and the person is not allowed to come home until they are installed
Just put them in. Don't procrastinate 'til you need them. I found some on line that don't look at all industrial. They are like a flattened O G curve, brushed stainless steel. They just make getting up, stepping in and out of the tub shower, etc. safer without giving it another thought. Since so many home accidents happen in the bathroom, I don't know why everyone who is building or remodeling doesn't install them.
No, I am not disabled, but I'm not getting any younger. Do it while it's easy.
Grab bars are great to have. A lot of accidents happen in the bathroom. An acquaintance of mine slipped in the bathroom and split open her head. She passed out. Unfortunately she was home alone and passed away.
Our Wal-Mart was stocking Valentine's day stuff the day after Christmas. I was flabbergasted! Seems like every year they start prepping earlier and earlier.
I haven't been to the local walmart. but the Dollar General has mostly Valentines and some Easter Candy out. Can't remember seeing St. Patricks Day stuff out
Ours was had already set up for Valentines Dec 23rd!
My local Walmart was playing Christmas music the day after Halloween.

Y'all are so daggone funny. I love to watch you guys. Just put a bidet in there too, hahaha. Brooke is so grossed out by the urinal. I was a nurse for 30 yrs and I would love to have a dollar for every urinal I've emptied and cleaned out. hahaha

I'm with you. I love a bath. I went to a health club that's free for seniors. I loved the hot tub. When I shower after I feel I couldn't get cleaner.

groundhog day is my favorite holiday! the whole country looks to a groundhog in PA hoping for an early spring.
Also you don't have to decorate, send cards or buy gifts. I am surprised they haven't commercialized it yet
My great granddaughter was born on Groundhog Day.
We watch Ground Hog Day every year as a family.

I used to have a small plant store and I thought I should go take courses to have more knowledge. (This was before Internet ) one of the growers who delivered plants to me said the best experience and education is ask questions from other growers and people who love plants. You are getting the best education with all your experience PLUS you have the Internet and all you followers that can educate you as you educate them! Give Nugget a big hug!
We love classic rock. Black and white tv shows and movies. Our daughter grew up with that and loves a variety of music. I don’t think there’s a song written that she doesn’t know the words to. She was a tap dancer and still loves movies with dancing. She’s in her forties now.

Our Walmart goes from Halloween directly into Christmas completely skipping Thanksgiving. They combine Valentines with Easter and put the back to school stuff out June 1st. Winter coats are sold June to September and summer clothes December to May.
While pot fillers seem like a good thing, I have my doubts. After the pasta or whatever has cooked, you still have to carry the heavy filled pot to the sink to drain, so does it really help that much?

That is sooo funny. When I was an older teenager I made up my mind that I didn’t like tub baths anymore, because, I just didn’t feel clean when I took a tub bath, so, I switched to showers and haven’t looked back. I’m 72. LOL
Kitchen: DRAWERS...You can't have too many! You can put anything in a drawer that can go on a shelf. EXCEPT....more items & easier to get at. Pots & pans. Dishes. Bakeware. Aluminum foil, wax paper, freezer bags, etc. Small appliances like hand mixers.
Narrow cabinet(s) to stand up cookie sheets, cutting boards. A
wide, but not too deep drawer to hold place mats, kitchen towels, hot pads. I Have 14 drawers!
I agree about having plenty of drawers. We downsized and went from a huge kitchen to a smaller kitchen. I have a total of 5 drawers and a kitchen that I hate. I would have it remodeled but my husband says that we are not putting any more money into this house and there is not enough space to change things around. One thing that I do have that I love is an instant hot water. I drink hot tea and love being able to fill my cup rather than waiting for water to boil. I’ve had multiple glass coffee pots to heat water in the microwave, but my sons have broken them so I gave up on those.
I think some of the stores supplies are stuck on the barges off the bay. Lots of empty shelves.
Music in your videos is great and the hard work is noticed and appreciated just so you know. I can’t believe more people haven’t found you guys yet.
There is an old retail saying and that is: "You can't sell it from the stockroom." That said between supply issues, labor issues, and other issues - Im guessing that the shelves were going lean to empty of Christmas stuff, they had the full or full enough amount of St Paddy's Day stuff, the St Paddy's Day stuff was in the way in an over stocked stock room, they had the labor assembled who could put out the St Paddy's day stuff enough to make it (at least look) complete. Between manufacturing, weather, labor, amd transportation issues it seem like some of the retail pre-planned, perfection is dropping by the way side a bit.
I always have liked rock music but I like some country songs, so that said 😄I really do enjoy the music Jason puts on the videos, they really fit to what we're watching. Brooke said something like you all don't get things done, What!!?? You all get so much done in so little time that I am amazed! I am actually a procrastinator and I can not believe how hard you all work!! It is impressive!! I do get things done but it's always at the last minute, I guess I do well under pressure but I know that's not the best way of doing things. As always I love your podcasts and all your videos. 🥰🥰🥰

If this is your forever home, I am with Jason on the pot filler at the stove. I would also do a central vacuum. That way the vacuum is in the garage and you have to carry less around and no dust can escape the vacuum into the house. Don’t know about there but in Texas an attic fan is a great addition. You crack the windows and turn on the attic fan and it will pull air through the house.

I love my pot filler. My pot filler is cold water and I have a water boiler by my pot filler. I LOVE both of them. Also, y’all need a bidet in the bathroom. I have one that’s attached to my toilet. It was less than 100.00. You can get very expensive ones but I love mine. Its great!! I won’t ever NOT have a bidet.
I think you all should have a bathroom accessible from the outside so you don’t track mud through the house for as much as you are outside.

Hey guys, don't knock groundhog day! ( February 2) That's my birthday. I even had a pet groundhog when I was a kid in Pa. He was always into something so I named him Archie after the comic book character. Love your channel! Oh, I have a groundhog stocking cap. It was my late uncle's. He thought celebrating mother's day, fathers day and Valentines day was ridiculous so he celebrated. Blessings! groundhog day.
