This is a wonderful country where you southern folks feel cold at 45° but I'm just stinking happy we are above zero today here in the north. I am a bit jealous of your greens growing in the greenstalk, but I still love the snow. It's our different lifestyles that make it so interesting to watch you, and many other great RUclips families, even when you're just talking about oiling the beep beep.

I retired in 2013 and I've never been SOOO busy in my life. The great part is that my art, garden, animals, books, clubs, hobbies, church committees are my passion. I've also never been so fulfilled and joyful!

Our youngest did her undergrad at Auburn. She was a Wildlife major, and every summer did some kind of field work. She went on to Alberta, Canada for her Master's, and was astounded to discover that field work there halted when temperatures got above 75F. When she told her colleagues about working in Alabama summers, they actually Google fact checked her because they couldn't believe what she was saying. On the flip side, field work in sub zero winter conditions was nothing to them.

I have a friend that was redoing her bathroom. When her soaking tub arrived with it's massage jets. She did what you did. However, she filled her tub, hooked up the power somehow for the jets. She dumped in some bubbles and had herself a for real bubble bath 🛀 in her driveway. In her bathing suit of course. Because, what would the neighbors think. LOL...

Hey yall should or get someone to extend the sides of your barn roof so you can drive your machines against your barn. so the roof slopes over and down to posts. so you would have two lean twos on each side of your barn. one side for equipment and one said for hay or just other stuff. Just an idea from your Canadian fan Sam :)

I love that tub!!! That makes sense that you'd want it in three pieces for that very reason. Any repairs.

I love that you guys understand and appreciate things that are lasting and not just flashy. I'm sure I'm annoying but I'm always pestering people to buy things with more lasting power and purpose.

So great to hear all this activity happening on the Cog Hill 40. Power to everything, water to everything, the barn rebuild, the house to start this week and the pond too. Besides Mary Carl's aviary. Oh and the front gate. So exciting!

@Cog Hill Farm Podcast when you go to pick out a walk-in tub for Brooke's mom, make sure you get one that has a heater and drains quickly. Not all of them have heaters. The water can get cold quick and a nightmare to sit there waiting for it to drain so you can get out.

You’re exactly right people get accustomed to their weather. Here in Saskatchewan Canada, some people wear shorts (above the knees) in -20C (-4F).

A word of advice from a former 200+ head of cattle operator...put your fencing on the INSIDE of all posts for Moody and Mildred's pasture. They love to crowd the fence (grass is always greener, you know) and will eventually push down and ruin a fence that's on the outside of the posts.

It makes a big difference when you have the right tools and know how to use them.
