First of all, I’m so sorry about Bear 😢
I would be so happy to do more podcast with y’all. I had the best fun and I’m so incredibly honored to be your first guest.
I can talk gardening for days!
    Brooke you are AMAZING!
I know 0 about equipment or welding or anything like that and I think it is so awesome that you are so gifted in those areas and I love that you embrace who you are and what you are passionate about and not try to be something you are not!
It makes me happy to be able to help y’all with designing The Cog40. Your farm is going to be beyond magnificent and I’m so excited to be able to help.
I could go on and on for days!
    Y’all are just the best!

@@donnalovintexas8760 She's the best I've seen at that. Heavy Equipment and getting everything in the shopping dept and thinking ahead, the womans a wiz. Add doing some construction, cooking, and now thinking of welding...what CAN'T she do...?
We actually have a program up here where you can learn all different homeowners trades for free. Classes are taught by retired professionals who are passing on their trades and skills...you can take individual classes or go the whole course, plumbing, roofing, building, etc. When you get your "Certificate" if you want, you can also go on to help others learn these trades or work with the "teachers" at going out in the community and making repairs on peoples homes that cant afford higher prices from companies, at a lower or no cost fix.
It's one way to learn and pay it foreward and also give those that have retired a sense of still being useful in the communities.
Am hoping other states and communities adopt programs like this, they're badly needed, and improves the community life.

Yes Brooke go for the wielding.. It is a GREAT skill to have, I made sure when I was a younger girl, that i could work on my own car change oil, tires ect: made sure I could do basic carpentry, electric, dry wall, plumbing ALL that because I never wanted some guy feeding me lies about cost and labor cost and all. SO I made myself a self sufficient woman. So even though I am older now and may need to hire these jobs out. I know when and if somebody is feeding me bull! It would be super great for you all on the farm and a great example to your daughter.. Always learn and grow!! Two years down the road I can only hope I am still around to see how your farm turns out!

When I was 7or 8 we vacationed at Indian Lake. A friend I made there and I went hiking in the woods. We found a huge clearing full of Canadian Geese, nesting. We decided we each wanted an egg. We ran, clapping and yelling, into the clearing. Hundreds of Geese jumped up and attacked us! Pinching and biting at us! We ran screaming through thorny brambles and thick woods for what seemed like forever! They finally quit chasing us! We were freaked out and scratched up! I learned that day to respect Geese!!! Lol!

You are absolutely correct! For some reason a pecan tree knows. Once they put on buds you can plant because the freezes are done. True story I worked on a rice farm and we didn't plant until pecan trees had buds and the farmer found a 4 leaf clover. He was superstitious and sometimes it took days but not a seed went into the fields until those 2 things happened.

Great podcast and I love the boulder idea with flower planted around them what a beautiful statement they would make !! And if Brooke takes the welding course she could make some beautiful arbors and sculptures out of iron/ steel , free form sculptures are so unique and beautiful and Jason could grow some climbing roses on some of Brookes designs!! My gramma had a huge beautiful climbing rose the was so beautiful And my momma took a cutting from it and rooted it snd put it on our fence in our front yard ! It was an heirloom climbing rose called “7 Sister Rose “ it was pink and was a continuous bloomer from spring until frost and each branch had 7 blooms on it , the blooms aren’t real large about the size of a 50 cent piece / half dollar size but 7 blooms on each branch ! Beautiful heirloom rose and very hardy ! ❤️🙏✝️🙋🏻

You could totally mess up your front end bucket moving those. You might really want to reconsider this. Living Traditions uses the weed barrier in their big garden spaces they might could give you an idea how long the weed barrier material lasts and how they turn under their soil before planting season starts every year. They been at this for several years so they might could help you guys on any questions or shortcuts you might need to know to help you.

Go for it Brook, about the welding. My ex-husband & I owned a steel fabrication shop. SO I used most of the equipment including welding. I enjoyed it.

My Dad owned a machine shop. He had 3 girls and I was the baby girl. When I went to College ASU, I took sculpture classes and decided I would learn to do welded sculptures. This fascinated my Professor. I did all kinds of metal sculptures out of the scrap pile out of his shop.

Great podcast. I learned to weld in FFA shop class. I would like to learn to weld with the Mig welder. My son has one I'm going to have to get him to let me try it. I learned to weld with a Lincoln stick welder. That was one of the best welders at that time. It's still a good welder just not what the new kind are. Go for it you will do good.
Love you'll stay safe and God bless. Dan

We had geese and had to beat the tar out of them to feed them. I wasn't scared, but they were mean. The egg never hatched and they raised our mallard ducks.

Oh No!! I am so sorry to hear about bear😩 he lived a good long life, and I know how hard it is to lose an animals like that. When I lost my Blake it was the hardest thing I ever went through lord I loved my English springer they are such amazing dogs. And I been looking for another one but they are so hard to find. Best will be missed on the videos, but he is having him a good time up there in heaven, he probably dig him a hole up there to lay in and just relaxing.
