Yes Living Traditions worked with Grower’s Solutions and they put in a really large nice Greenhouse on the newer farm property that Kevin & Sarah had bought. They already had 2 smaller Greenhouses from Grower’s Solutions on their original Homestead Property & were very happy with them. You are so lucky to have this opportunity! I bet that Grower’s Solutions has watched some of your videos, saw that one with your visit to the Storm Shelter place and saw a great opportunity to have their facility showcased. When Brooke referenced “Old Time” I chuckled. My Great Grandmother didn’t do Daylight Savings Time when I was young, so if you were going to her house for Sunday Dinner, you had to remember for half the year she was an hour off. I’d forgotten that memory, thanks for bring it up.

Hauled hay one summer and the guy that was bailing the hay wouldn't change his time and if you got there at 8 AM by your time he wouldn't be there until 9 AM. He would say I am going to start bailing at 8 AM my time not yours don't you see. Dan

Retired dog groomer here…clipping Pom hair softens it. Poms actually have two coats. The undercoat is the frizzy stuff that falls out. The longer guard hair on the outside holds the undercoat in. The undercoat is supposedly what keeps them warm in winter and cool in summer. I had clients that insisted on haircuts for their Poms so we would put them in cute 1/4” cuts and scissor up their heads to make them look like little foxes. Adorable! If I lived on a farm in Alabama my Pom would be sporting a short haircut clipped every six weeks. Just sayin.
That sounds like a great idea for Giget! I bet she does get hot in the summer months. Maybe Brooke will reach out to you and give it a try!
I just wrote a long comment about clipping one of my shelties and then scrolled down to see your comment. You said it so much better than me. My sheltie with the thick undercoat was never cool in the summer until I started clipping her.
@@stonehillfarm866 Yeah, Brooke was saying that even when it's 70 degrees her pom gets overheated on walks. Summertime must be very hard on the little.
@@stonehillfarm866 Exactly. You run the risk of softening the coat which makes it easier to mat up if you aren’t brushing them but if you keep them clipped short, who cares? They’d come in my shop with their tongues hanging out and leave prancing with wagging tails.
The best time change story was that Sunday morning we went to church. All of us were setting in the pews but there was no Priest. About 35 minutes later in he ran, apologizing to everyone. He forgot to move his clock ahead. We all had a good laugh. ❤️

As to daylight savings, I think we should leave it one way or the other - no switching back and forth!
Hold onto that thought reports saying US Senate has approved time change to end in 2023.
I live in Phoenix AZ, and we don't change a thing. Life rolls on as Nature intended it to be.
Today US Senate voted to stop changing time . Need US House approval then Biden sign bill .
I don't like daylight saving time I vote for the standard time like nature intended.
Tell your state legislators that.
The more they hear from the people, the better it is.

Living Traditions had a training video filmed at their location in Missouri. Kevin and Sarah built 2 of their own and then Growers Solutions did a build on the 3rd one.

I had a pom for over 10 years and every summer shaved her down, and by winter her coat was as beautiful as the past year
I agree with Brooke, I wish they would make daylight savings time last all year. I really dislike when we have to revert to standard time in the fall.
The state I live in voted to stay in daylight savings years ago, but it literally takes the approval of congress to make it happen officially. A state can opt out of daylight savings (ie Hawaii and Arizona) but must get Congressional approval to STAY in daylight savings. It's ridiculous, especially considering so many states want to stay.
WE HAVE GREAT NEWS!!! The U.S. Senate has just unanimously passed a bill to make Daylight the permanent time-- no more back and forth. Next step is passing the House and signing.

Brooke I too have a little pup (chihuahua) who has stubbornly refused to come when I call. In desperation I talked to a trainer and expressed my fear for his safety. He suggested I work on a very strong “sit” response. Works like a charm, when he wanders too far I tell him to sit and he plops his butt down and waits for Mama to come pick him up.

I raised a Pom and got her groomed about every 6 weeks. Her hair always came back just like before. They are the most precious dogs in the world. I got my Kasee at 5 weeks and she passed at 14 years with an enlarged heart.

We raised Pomeranians when we lived in California. When we moved to Arkansas it was so much hotter that my mom cut their hair. It looked great and we never had any issues with it growing back. They were show dogs so my mom wouldn't risk anything with her dogs. They looked so much better in the summer when they had their haircuts.
This warms my heart. It just shows you all how loved you are. How much you all give us in your videos. Thank you all for sharing your lives with us.

Former Vet Tech and Groomer here, the hair on a Pomeranian grows back depending on health conditions of individual dog! Health conditions like Cushing’s, diabetes, or thyroid problems will cause the hair not to grow back normally! The “shedding” your seeing is undercoat! It acts like insulation in your house helping to cool when it is hot, and keep warm when it is cold! Brush your pup with a good wire brush will help control it! But, I am also a fan of an adorably cut Pomeranian!!! 😁 Hope this helps!!

As a dog groomer we learned in our studying that they dog will lose its ability to regulate temperature due to having a double coat, they have Guard hair that will out grow the other coat. It can grow back different lengths and colour. Also it’d make the dog hotter in the heat

Talking about "yard" birds.I remember folks having Guinea fowl.They we're excellent for eating ticks.And alarm systems.
Here in South Africa Guineafowl are regarded as wild birds. One sees them on the side of the road foraging. My cousin has them landing in her back yard same as my late mom, our house was on the mountainside & come 4.30pm like clockwork they'd come for food ( Here, chick, chick & they'd land a few feet from the front door.)

Your not old…your still young! I agree, I’m not in favor of time changes…but which one is considered the correct time? Making a list does make things easier. Brooke - your amazing, you always make things come together! I love using harnesses for all dogs. Well Brooke, you restored that bathroom back at little cog. I was very impressed!
The time we just came "off" of is what is known as "God's time". Daylight Savings came about during WWII I believe to have more daylight during battle, and running the production back home.
I've had a Pomeranian, Shih ztu & a Maltese at separate times. They all grew their hair back & just as beautiful as before. Yes, the Pom had little fuz balls come off during shedding season. The other two I found little hair around my house. I did learn the hard way to keep sanitary cuts on all 3 long haired small dogs. I leash trained my dogs at early age. My Shih tzu was chunky also. He in turn was diabetic.
We are reminded often that when life's circumstances throw us a curve, we should always be thankful for the blessings that will come forth following. For Cog 40 farm, that wind and rain storm thru you a curve, however, look at all the blessings you are reaping in spite of the wind and rain. Thank you Lord!

Oh Jason I know exactly what you're talking about. My mind is the same way and being easily distracted is so frustrating. Work my butt off all day and don't seem like I got anything done. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 42, I'm 71 now. I medicated until I retired which helped immensely. Making to do lists each night for the next day helps me stay on track but....

I’m so happy to hear about your greenhouse, I wrote to you that I felt like you deserved a big greenhouse to work in where you could walk around inside in. It seems like you are going to get what I wished for you, you will make it so cog hill style and it will look so good on the property to have some bigger buildings to fit the size and scale of your new farm. I can’t wait to see prayer flags get put up again and have the peacocks get to be out free, I miss seeing Scott and his ladies strutting around and feel so sad for them being in that little coop, I’m sure it’s been long enough for them to not want to fly back to the old farm.
Eventually you are going to have a lot of large size buildings for a barn and a house for Moody and the little girl. And I’d love to see some paths of stone or brick or rock later down separating different areas and see your fruit orchard grow to its mature height. Your farm is just getting better all the time and I don’t mind investing in watching you for years to come, I lobe the south and your sweet words and down yo earth personalities, I watch you faithfully and have been for I think 3 years now. I have a Time change story for you...I have to walk over to the Elementary school to bring children over for religious training class on Monday and Thursday. We'll yesterday I was working away and looked at my desk clock and it was 12:50 and I looked again it was 1:10. Come to find out the clock didn't adjust and I ran out of my office and over to the school (2:15 at this time) only to find out the kids were sent back to their classes for dismissal. Needless to say I had to send some emails and texts to alert parents that their children were on their way home at regular time. Had a good laugh after.

Oh my goodness!!! My Boston Terrier plays that “catch me if you can” game! Luda is so much fun!
Oh my goodness!!! Luda sucks on his stuffed animals and the side of his bed, too!!! He paws at the bed when he is soothing himself. He’s so adorable and sweet. Luda is 13 pounds and stays right at your feet when he’s off his leash. I only allow him to run in the fenced in backyard. He plays fetch so good, and he stops when he’s tired and needs a break.
