Marycarl, we have a male cockatiel that is 32 years old!!
He does talk and his favorite phrase is Here kitty, kitty kitty. We did not teach him that, he picked it up from hearing us call the cat. It's so funny to hear a bird calling a kitty over and over.

Brooke, I just suggested in your live to add this to MC's homeschooling as credit...if home school does electives...that way she won't quit on you...lol seriously though this way if she does a whole semester of it she will work out the frustrations and might continue on in the future with alot more confidence...I would have loved a video editing class in school. ❤️ Love you guys!

What a perfect name! “The Ladies of Cog Hill”
MaryCarl seems so intelligent that I wonder if her unhappiness at school wasn’t boredom and lack of intellectual stimulation. Happened with my oldest son. If smart kids don’t get challenged by learning, they soon become bored and unhappy at school.
MaryCarl, we had a Mexican double yellow head and a Moluccan. When we moved into a development from our small farm, we had to give our birds away as they were too noisy to live in a neighborhood. The neighbors would have heard their screeching and called the police thinking someone was being hurt. I really miss them. 😢

⚘I like the name too, but, who knows, Brooke has started Her new channel For Women and By A Woman, and as much as she may like it, she has specific ideas on how she wants Her channel to look and sound.
Her naming her own channel is important to her. She told us that in her first video, and also that the name was only temporary.
She made it very clear that she is not Jason, and that sometimes she has her own thoughts and ideas as does he and that Jason was not having anything to do with her channel, because he has had his own channel and it still will be his own channel. She wants the whole thing to be her and MaryCarl's baby.
I am looking forward to kicking back and chilling, and enjoy watching Brooke slowly unfold what she has in store for her channel and all of us. This is going to be fun and with what I know of Brooke,........well, I can't wait for it all to begin ❣

    • @nancyhowell7735
      @nancyhowell7735 2 года назад +2

      @@brenda9140
But, Jason was the one who gave the temporary name and then changed it before Brooke knew about it. Does that mean this is the official name or is Brooke still looking? I think those of us who said we liked the Ladies…, were only stating an opinion based on what said she and MaryCarl wanted.

MC you’ve done an excellent job on the editing! Loved seeing your birds! 35 yrs ago I raised Zebra & Society finches (at peak I had 80 of them, as they breed like rabbits!) & also had a gray cheek parakeet. I found homes for all of them, as I had gotten a Norwegian Fjord pony (who was pregnant) & was boarding her at my friends farm, where I moved to. My friend had house cats and thought it better to find homes for the birds, rather than expose them to the cats. This past May my friend who had introduced me to birds all those years ago, had raised canaries & parakeets with his family. They were down to their last parakeet & asked if I would take Uno into our home & keep him & my husband & I agreed. We got him a companion (Star) & a much bigger cage, as neither were hand raised & trained. I love the 2 of them chatting throughout the day & realize that I did miss having birds. I’m hoping that over time I can build the trust up with them to hand train. I’m not planning on raising offspring, I just want to enjoy these two & watch their antics. I’m so looking forward to this new adventure with you & your mom, having no doubt you will be very successful with it!

This is a very smile-producing video! Love the beautiful bird homes with playgrounds on top! They are so well set-up for the birds' needs and enjoyment and the matching trays underneath are a great idea and actually attractive! I think I've seen some of those birds when they were in the camper but not so clearly.. Many decades ago I had a pair of finches, think they were called "ring-necked finches", in my bedroom, tiny birds. I left their cage open at night and in the morning the male finch would fly around the room, swooping down near my face so the breeze from his little wings would wake me. Hadn't thought of that for years. Great job on the video Ladies!! Looking forward to more. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍

I would love to see them and even see her process on coming up with ideas and then making patterns and just her thought processes and then the finished product. This would be a learning project for us women of all ages, wether we ever desire to sew or not. And once your kitchen is up and running maybe Brook can show some more of her cooking, like more of the process of it. Cooking is fast becoming a lost art!! This is fun, girl time together, who doesn’t enjoy that!! After awhile maybe you could feature other women doing interesting things like maybe your bee lady. More like why she got into it, etc. looking forward to spending time with you two. See you soon🤗🤗😘

Hi Brooke & MaryCarl. It’s nice to be able to ‘sit down’ with you & get to know you better. I’m Codee. My housemate & caregiver Jessica introduced me to Cog Hill’s vlogs at the beginning of the pandemic & I’ve been watching ever since. I am a lover of all animals. My Dad’s aunt had a farm when I was younger & we’d enjoy visiting every summer. I’d be working on a farm now if my disabilities didn’t limit me so much. I think I’m going to enjoy this channel. Especially if I get to see more of Mondu & Peanut. I had a blue quaker & a green cheek conure when I was younger. Echo & Charlie. They were fun to watch & hang out with. Looking forward to seeing what you both do on the farm & learning more about birds. Greetings from the Netherlands. 🦜

Well this was a breath of fresh air! I’ve been watching Jason’s videos and have thoroughly enjoyed them. Your videos definitely shed some light on the “girls” and who you are. ☺️ I too have autoimmune diseases. I was diagnosed about 4 years ago (I’m 59) and it’s been tough! But I have seen Gods faithfulness through it all. I also homeschooled my 2 daughters. Didn’t think I could do it, but I did. ☺️ I look forward to seeing more of your videos. Thank you for being transparent!

Hi Brooke and Mary Carl! Loved your video. I learned so much from this video. I was afraid of birds for many years (especially chickens). You see when I was two years old we had chickens and I was sitting in my little red wagon playing with some baby chick when the mama hen attacked me luckily our dog grabbed the handle of the wagon and pulled me out of harms way. To this day I can close my eyes and think chicken and see the beak, feathers, and talons coming at me. Now don't get me wrong, I like birds, I even like chickens. I had a cockatiel named BB, I feed ducks and ibises at the park. I have a bird feeder love to see the birds eat from it. I just can't get close to chickens because I feel like I'm going to to be attacked. If you knew the story of me trying to save a chicken from the neighborhood stray cats you would be laughing so much your sides would hurt. I've written long enough. Can't wait for your next video you did an excellent job Mary Carl.

It would be nice to know what the life expectancy of the parrots is. This is a great channel. My one suggestion is always remember to be yourselves. You have lots to share. Never feel you have to perform on your channel. You are both so awesome just the way you are.

Y’all are very generous to share your lives with us. You’re already pretty special to me and I look forward to seeing more videos. I have two granddaughters ages 17 and 15, so I enjoy girl stuff a lot. I am a 70 years old grandma living on 1/3 acre town lot that is a flower garden paradise, but in my younger days I was a hippie, earth mother kinda girl and dreamed of living the life y’all now live. I never achieved that, and am so happy and grateful to watch y’all’s channels to see the homestead life and in my own way I feel like a kinda am sharing my love of life with y’all too. Best of luck with your new channel and I’ll be along for the ride! I love you both!

Firstly, thank you so much for introducing yourselves to us via the new channel. A pleasure to meet you both! Civility is such an attractive quality to possess, I do believe it blossoms in abundance at the Coghill 40! Ms CH, and Miss CH, well done on your first video release. Good editing MaryCarl on your first video, it has been an interesting journey watching your dad grow in his editing technique, I have no doubt the same will happen for you MC, you are surrounded by good teachers. Your daughter Brooke and Jason is an absolute credit to you both! If that young lady does not become a professional Ornithologist I will be surprised. We remember when the decision was made to Home School, clearly the right decision in this young girl's case. What I see is an intelligent, articulate, and confident 12-year-old, her future looks bright, especially where birds are concerned, but then, we may still all end up surprised, while keeping her passion for birds, who is to say this young girl will not make her mark elsewhere in the future!

What a wonderful, informative and entertaining video! Well edited Mary Carl! When my wife was diagnosed with Breast Cancer we were told we had to get rid of our bird Jonsey (an African Grey parrot) , it made us both very sad, and Jonesy too. We rehomed Jonesy with the lady who cared for him/her (we were never really sure which) when we went on vacations. It will be good to have a place where we can get our feather fix...and two years ago we had to put down our schnauzer Scuppers. and so far we have not found a suitable Schnauzer replacement so we love Arlo as well!! Thank you both for your time and energy and I look forward to LOTS more bird learning!!

I discovered Cog Hill when I was searching how to care for chickens- so Marycarl is my go-to expert! We ended up with Peacocks when the next door neighbor bought some, but didn't feed them. We did feed them so they just stayed at our place. I'm working on building my own aviary/coop to protect them (and the chickens) from the coyotes. I'm excited to see your aviary more so I can learn and get ideas! I hope you'll include some chicken info along the way! Brooke - I started my own garden from watching your channel, so if you include some recipes you like - to use up what you grow - that would be an excellent addition to the channel!
