    I just had my teeth cleaned today. My dental hygienist recommended
    I use a WaterPik. She has nothing to gain if I buy a water pik other than her not having to clean my teeth as much every six months. She recommended the water pik , especially for people with crowns as bacteria can hide in there that brushing and even regular flossing cannot get to.

    If flossing with string is the gold standard, then water flossers really are a waste of money. I get it, it's probably easier and quicker to use a water flosser but I want the thing that's going to do the best job, even if it cost me more time.

    • @danielwithane911

      water flossing is great for many reasons: cleaning the gum line to the front and back of the tooth, for people with gum diseases, implants, braces or pockets too large/deep where a string floss would just waggle around and many more! The best option in terms of hygiene is a combination of both water and string flossing, but if you really wanna skip one, skip the water flossing.

    A waterpik did wonders for me. I don't really string floss much, but I dont have tight teeth. Went years between dental visits due to pandemic and my dentist was so surprised when I told her I hadn't had my teeth cleaned in two years. I honestly think she thought I was exaggerating. I would never go without one again.

    I prefer to floss in the shower as my gums bleed

    • @danielwithane911
      @danielwithane911 7 месяцев назад +6

      if your gums are still bleeding after max 2 weeks of consistently flossing once a day, you need to schedule an appointment! Your gums are bleeding because they're inflamed by the bacteria you're supposed to disrupt when flossing. If that isn't happening you might be using a bad technique, like pushing too hard, or you're very prone to gum disease! Check with your dentist, flossing shouldn't be painful after a while

    • @Therealbabe
      @Therealbabe 4 месяца назад

      For the gums bleeding, use an antiseptic mouthwash in the morning before brushing and then wait half an hour, then floss then brush. At night, Use a anticavity mouthwash in the evening after brushing and toungue scrape as well. And avoid alcohol free mouthwashes. Buy therabreath or Act mouthwashes, they are alcohol free. Also schedule a dentist appointment before it reaches the advance stage.

    • @Therealbabe
      @Therealbabe 4 месяца назад

      Don’t forget to ensure the toothpaste has fluoride, rinse with mouthwash (anticavity mouthwash) don’t rinse with water. If you rather rinse with water ensure the mouthwash has fluoride..which is good for the prevention of cavities And is alcohol free🙂

      I have a waterpik water flosser that has intensity level settings from 1 to 10, and also a massage option. Not sure if most or all have that same range, but if not, you may wanna try one at lowest level like a 1 and see how that is (or maybe you already have and it’s still too much)

    Mine stopped charging. Taking the reservoir out rinsing, soaking with white vinegar fixed it. They have a 2 years factory warranty. My hearing aid doctor told me to use this to clear wax from my ear so I could have a valid hearing test. Aimed at the canal not the eardrum

    Not gingivitis either. Just wash my teeth after waking up, before going to sleep and before leaving home for a meeting or date. Go to the dentist ever 1 or 1.5 years. Why would I waste my time on something that has not any serious medical study?
