- Bismarck Final Phase Theme Woe That is Madness from Final Fantasy XIV Heavensward
Clip showing the final phase of the Bismarck fight on my first group (third attempt here). Second phase is pretty similar to the first, except it's a DPS race from the state you left the island in from the previous phase. Cool fight. Enjoy!

Never thought I'd hear liquid drum and bass in an FF game. My life is complete.
Then u haven't played 13
Mitsue101 which specific track in ff13 is dnb/liquid dnb?
Mitsue101 it's really not a bad thing to have not played 13.
I didn't say it was bad that they didn't play it... -_-
Holy shit, is that the genre name? I've been dying to figure out what the style's called so I can find similar things!!!
You can really appreciate the lack of lyrics here as they wouldn't make much sense in this trial. You're fighting a force of nature that moves purely on instinct and the music reflects that.
Save for Zurvan, I believe every primal that talks to you has lyrics.
@@lightwiz
Depends on what you mean by "talking to you".
If by that you mean "sentient", then there's Ifrit, Phoenix, Ravana (Phase 1), Susanoo, Shinryu (Phase 1) and Tsukuyomi (Phase 1 and 2).
If by that you mean "being voiced", then there's Ravana (Phase 1), Susanoo and Tsukuyomi (Phase 1 and 2).
Pure Final fantasy
After I finished this primal i could not stop listening to this. Heavensward soundtrack is pure love.
Final Fantasy XIV has one of the best gaming ost ever in my humble opinion.

This song is so glorious. It's like Phantasy Star Online music, and that is a good thing.
***** pso
***** I feel the same way. Man I missing playing episodes 1 and 2 on the gamecube.
Lunarikko
play schthack ;D
***** YESSSS, so much this. Evoked such a nostalgic reaction from me when I got into this phase.
***** Sadly Bismark is pretty much a 1-run-n-done once you clear it. There is no reason to farm his weapon as Ravana's is better and you can Upgrade the Law (Doman) weapon to i180 when Bismarks is i175.
Other than Material for Barding there is little reason to run Bismark. Especially now with Alexander.
Nice flying Cid. Great job.
+The Chad did you expect anything less? its cid!
Oh hey, that's me healing.
I keep counting and we got a healer missing tho...?
That was before FFXIV get rid of protect
@@carbuncle1334 i really miss protect :,(
@@Adamantian9 protect is baked in now so it has no gameplay effect other then not having healers getting angry at the tank that runs off before you cast, though I understand if you mean you miss the feeling and the aesthetic
@@Adamantian9 I fucking hated protect. People flipped the fuck out if you didn't immediately cast that shitty spell that only reduced damage by 2%.
When the beat drops and Bismarck smashes into the island... something about that just hits different
It's amazing to see the amount of awesome music Soken made using the Heavensward CG movie theme as base :O
This is one of most awesome primal battles so far, the way Bismarck changes the weather was awesome.
One of my absolute favorite battle themes in this game. It's seriously so majestic, and really perfect for fighting a godly whale in the Sea of Clouds!
Does nobody else get XIII vibes from this song? Especially when the song shifts at 1:23 - I really love this theme a lot.
I started playing XIV around the first patch of HW, the XIII trilogy was something I was playing quite a bit beforehand. When I heard this I thought the same thing! Maybe Soken was inspired by it. It reminds me a bit of 'will to fight' and 'test of the L'cie'.
Same here. I said that the first time i heard it. Funny thing was a few months before i did this, i was playing Lightning returns
having listening to this song so much during Bismarck Extreme farming (was my first experience primal farming, even got the bird)...I grew to love this song even more
This track is so serene! 😍😍😍 The fight was relatively simple but fun! Sometimes, I would just run around or fly on his mount for extended periods of time, just so I could listen to this! Sooo soothing! 😍😍😍
This track has an official name now (from Heavensward - EP - Vol.3):
*Woe that Is Madness*
BREAKING NEWS: Flying Shark-whale just wanted to have a snack, gets attacked by a gang of 8 people!
All the victim had to say about this situation was: " *A N G R Y W H A L E N O I S E S* "
More at 11.
I wanted to hear more damnit
Now this is REAL news.
They stole his phone too.
good lord. Bass and piano works beautifully together
I had just beaten this trial as of writing this and my God this was amazing to experience the first time
Very very reminiscent of Amatsumagatsuchii's theme AND Dahren/Jhen Mohran's fights. One of my favorite primal encounters despite it not being particularly challenging.
done Bismark like 3 times now just to hear this music lol. it's amazing
I pretty much enjoy both Ravana's Theme and Bismarck's for good reason that people pointed out already. The meaning of them both.
Ravana is a bloodthirsty Warlord, so his theme with the lyrics pretty much fit him perfectly.
Bismarck is a different primal than the rest we've encountered so far in the game. All the primals in the game have showed some form of intelligence, while Bismarck is purely a wild beast, literally in all the aspects. Bismarck simply devours without judging because its a hungry beast, a force of nature, hence why its theme is more "chillish" or more "nature-like".
+Gameshunter92 Well, once you learn exactly what the Primals actually are, his mindless nature starts making more sense.
That shift in the music a little bit after 1:21 is amazing
After hearing this a couple times, I can't help but dance a little to this song! It's soo amazing.
when that bass starts is when it becomes my favorite fight theme inthe game. That BASS!!
Just so good captures the liquid DnB vibe 100% My fav song in all of FF14 OST !
This is some good drum&bass
I can appreciate the music Uematsu used to make. It shaped how people viewed gaming music. It's definitely timeless, and is nostalgic for many people. However, I don't think his music as of late, can really compare to the amazing composers we have now. I'll admit the overarching themes he makes for games (such as the central theme for HW) are stunning, but when he composes a whole game, there's nothing that stands out for me, at least anymore. People complain that he doesn't do FF games anymore, but Hamauzu, Soken, and now Shimomura (for FFXV), are amazing and godly composers with tons of past experience, Soken, actually having the least amount, but has been given a whole MMO to lead, and he has absolutely succeeded.
So if anyone asks me if I wish Uematsu were back to write for FF, I say absolutely not, because look at the composers we have now.
Absurd. Uematsu along with Mitsuda were the faces of Squaresoft's video game music back in the days. While I will agree with you that Shimomura is indeed amazing (seriously, besides FFXV, her work in the KH Series and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is absolutely remarkable). Hamauzu and Soken still have some long ways to go before they can achieve works that were as timeless as Uematsu's compositions.
I completely agree with you. I always find Uematsu's music, and style, rather bland. I've always loved FF music ever since Hamauzu was involved with X. It was then, that things were changing for the better - Uematsu didn't have to worry so much, and take a rest.
Whereas Uematsu does create timeless melodies, the sound quality is less so. He relied on MIDIs even when he didn't need to (for example, he didn't use samples for FFVII's OST, but that was a performance decision) and he used MIDI the very end (look at the quality of Uematsu X tracks compared to the other two composers' - it's much worse). The only Uematsu work I've enjoyed is Lost Odyessy and FFXV: Comrades. I think he truly shines when he's got good orchestrators and performers.
Yeah, i wouldnt want him to cone back to FF, his songs are literally too good for everyone's ears.
I'll say it and keep saying it, Uematsu's music are ass, he doesn't hold a candle to others with techniques and musician prowess like Mitsuda, Shimomura, Ito, etc., but who needs techniques and skills when you have shear ingenuity.
His touch on music is soo wack that it's above godlike. Nobuo is a man among gods, among immortals, leveling that to Bob Ross himself! Don't get me wrong Woe is Madness by Masayoshi Soken is godlike, Takeharu Ishimoto (FFVII:CC and FF:T-0) is on his own level, Kenji Ito is wild AF, Yasunori Mitsuda is a prodigy in disguise, Yoko Shimomura is a Seraph among the gods, but of all of XIV's songs, the main themes, Answers, Dragonsong and Revolution (and even Comrades for FFXV) are sublime.
That kind of assery of music he makes is so ass, that it's unique and it's ridiculous. Listen to all the FFs OST, he can't even create a good Soundtrack at all, each track is simply a piece of music made, nothing more, then he tried that with IX's Melodies of Life and it was mediocre, holds no candle to say, Yasunori Mitsuda's Chrono Trigger main theme that you can clearly hear throughout multiple tracks in the game, the best Nobuo got close to was in FFVI's Terra's and Celes' theme.
Each music that Nobuo composes is sublime! The day he passes is the day we lose one of the most unique VG composers of VG history.
I'm not trying to attack anyone, just helping everyone realize his manlike skills of a composers, and personally, I like Motoi Sakuraba a bit more due to the flow and hype of his tracks xP but by man, Nobuo Uematsu is just manlike *eyes rolls upwards* xD
Awesome music. It reminds worlds collide from FFXIII-2
Mateus Yeah I got heavy FFXIII vibes from this one too.
Mateus felt like a mix of "Dust to Dust" from FFXIII (Oerba's theme) and the Digital Devil Saga English opening song "Danger by Etro Anime"
***** I definitely felt Dust to Dust in there.
Mateus I haven't played 12 or 13, but it reminds me a lot to Panzer Dragoon Saga :D
I'm really loving the nostalgia Heavensward is evoking me, not only with this and Matoya's. In general :)
***** Yea I can here a bit of dust to dust in this song.
We got the mount, now we need this as an orchestrion roll lol
Our wish has been granted as of Patch 3.5, heh.
Beautiful!
I truly love this one
Da bass! Still an awesome track! Best part: 1:24
Even if bismarck extreme is an easy fight, the music puts me in the land of the rising sun. Thanks for upload!
I to this day don't think this theme has been topped. this is the best theme for me I have listened to.
Bismarck is such an epic fight.. im close to finishing HW but this fight... pure awesomeness
This fight I learnt to solo, so I could get the whistle and the mount to listen to this music every time I fly!
Still one of the most wholesome trials in the game I'd say
you spear a whale and then lobotomize it
Love the 2nd half of the fight's music so much better than the 1st half. Love the cool, chill music.
Bismarck kinda reminds me of some of the Elder Dragons in Monster Hunter, especially Jhen and Dah'ren Mohran
It's basically Dah'ren, up to and including boarding from the side after it rams the ship and breaking the back to expose the weak point so you can kill it. Such a fun fight!
easily the best song in the game. i literally couldn't focus pressing buttons anymore after it popped, for a few seconds. amazing
Those sick Black Mage Physicks!
GammaLGP Didn't notice it until you mentioned it. Did the white mage get stunned or something?
Good back-up healing.
My new favorite primal theme!
Damn thats a sexy track
Wow, never thought I'd hear liquid DnB in an MMO.
masterpiece
It reminds me so heavily of the Underwater Base section of Sonic 06. Not an insult if I'm honest, Sonic 06's OST has a special place in my head.
This song is also called Woe that is Madness.
seconds before the team that has absolutely no idea of how to dodge ituhigi dies
I found out you aren't supposed to waste 4 dashes dodge the first hit
what game are you talking about
@@andrasrealskill based boss fights
I like that you can still hear the Heavensward morif in this drum and bass
Hated the fight, LOVED the song.
I love when FF games drop a Drum & Bass track. They just do everything right
May shall fall.. Venom's bite.
WRONG PHASE
@@veikka65 yeah i know someone already made the comment on the right phase so i had to do it here so i dont seem like im copying the comment
Dear Square Enix: Bismarck pony please, which plays this theme while riding. Thank you.
+strifey07 good god yes... just this second half tho. First half when I first fought it way back was "ehh, okay..."
Then when this hit... "oh damn... it's ON."
+TheGuy WhoWentThere Same here, I love this theme, still gives me goosebumps when I hear it :)
+strifey07 we get bismarck/ravana themed eagle mounts in patch 3.2 :) i hope they play their respective themes
I KNOW!! I saw it! So hyped right now! It's gonna be awesome :D
+strifey07 they look so amazing
There's something about Cid shitting his pants at the beginning of the theme that changes the tone of this fight completely.
I get a Ghost In the Shell intro kinda vibe from this theme 😊
So epic
Perfect for a cool spring night
Freaking love this one! >_
Did this primal a few hours ago looking forward to see how the next few compare.(Favorite Primal Now)
I will comment here everyday to prove that this song will never die-- oh wrong video. Thought this was Ghost in the Shell: Stand alone Complex.
Round 1
Fight!
(sounds so much like a Tekken song)
Sigh what a majestic creature.
I know the title is along the lines of "Woe to that which is madness"...but the structure makes me hear "Whoa...thats madness, dude".
Somehow it reminds me a little bit ParasiteEve fight music. Anyway 3.0 music rocks!
+Alex Veronesi
FINALLY! Someone else gets it. I've made references to Parasite Eve the entire time while playing and a good majority don't even know what that is :|
A damn shame, Parasite Eve is a freakin' classic.
IKR? then Third Birthday came along and ruined it o.o I mean, Parasite Eve 2 was sorta decent....
SOooooo good
It's also the bismarc bird mount theme :D
Holy cow, haens off was on my server years ago! I think i did a sell run with them once lmao
Madness? THIS...IS...SPARTA!!!!!!!
Annnd this is why I do bismark at least once a day. Also, a shout out to all you FFX fans that got sin vibes. lol
why do i keep getting combo’d by this guy with a green valk 💀💀💀💀
Hot take: I preferred Bismarck's fight over Ravana's. The ambience, this music, the climbing on top a la Shadow of the Colossus...
anyone else think 0:36 sounds like one of the motifs from the ffxvi dominance trailer? for reference, it’s at 0:56 of the playstation trailer for ffxvi dominance
Nice theme
Am I the only person gettin "Sin" Final Fantasy X vibes from this fight? Like... they replaced the ship with an island... LOL
I think they designed this Bismarck after Sin tbh.
+Lenny Murphy I think they designed sin aswell as bismarck after flying whales xD
+Dolce Mizrahi You weren't the only one. me and a whole bunch of people cried out "SIIIIINNN!!" XD btw it's called a re-skin. where they carry over a design and implement it into something else.
Now if only Sinspawn Gui was in the game.....
that may be true but Bismarck the whale was already a summon who first appeared in FF6 SO it's Bismarck AND sin
BUT it's basically a reskin of Sin :O in design considering how long ago FF6 was made. Except sin didn't have a huge horn on his nose XD
I just finished this one.
The music suits the fight and the environment quite well. But i still prefer Ravana second theme *o*
wow this is from a fantasy game?
@Mekkah Dee
Can you upload the song that plays when you go and save Raubahn with Alph? I can't find it anywhere ):
@Carmine Jay it's level 57 mate
This kind of reminds me of some sort of Trauma Center/Trauma Team game-like music, without the vocals anyway.
ithugi
Check out some of the kh music like sanctuary and simple and clean guys.
Fish in sky and once music start
My mind: DARIUS
Just sounds like 90's anime soundtrack
@Carmine Jay it's level 58 for the HM and 60 EX
Lesley van Oostenrijk Isn't it level 57 for Bismark HM?
Christian Vazquez I just fought him today, can confirm it's 57.
ah my bad, it's 57
This fight reminds me of Panzer Dragoon.
***** this also reminds me of The Dragon God final boss theme from Chrono Cross (your Serge avatar reminded me of that hehe)
Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin!!!!!!
[WHALE NOISES INTENSIFY]
This sounds like After, in the Dark from Macross Plus to me.
We Second Opinion now.
It's a shame that the actual fight itself is so boring, because this song was _the_ thing that initially got me interested in FFXIV
I was where as Viola =D
Idk about y'all but I always hear "there's always another spoon"
90s rave time!!
anyone else was constantly thinking of that south park episode?
Shoutout to the black mage that misplaced their Ley lines on Bismarck
What level is this fight?
+Pookie Man
A bit late to respond, but it's a Lv.57 Trial (Sync'd down to Lv.58).
This is giving me Sonic 06 vibes
Reminds me of a DDR song
y no twitch content
Anyone else reminded of Monster Hunter? idk why...
John Lee Because this thing is basically a flying Jhen Mohran? :P
drascin I was thinking more along the lines of Ceadeus. Especially the final phase themes.
+John Lee caedues: best mu track ever
Man, this Jhen Mohran subspecies sure is weird.
The music is better than the fight.
