Seeing Zeromus rendered on modern hardware has blown my mind... and i can see how terrifying this thing would be the the Ffiv gang. 🤠

This thing enslaved Golbez in Final Fantasy 4. Now it will be slayed once again by a Warrior of Light.
The Final Battle (FFIV) is one of my favorite boss themes in all of Final Fantasy, so I was looking forward to how it would be remixed in FFXIV. I was not disappointed. If anything, I stayed on the arena before the fight (when the Raid itself opens up for the first time) and just idled, listening to the song.
Absolutely same. I grew up on the ff4 gba and ds games and I was absolutely feral when this came on
There's also a version of it from the first tier of the Omegascape raid, which had Exdeath and Neo Exdeath as its final fight.
That music is just so urgent and suspenseful. It makes you feel nervous; if that's the intention, then the music team certainly knows what they're doing. (As if that was a surprise :P )
Just the way it felt fighting him in II...I mean 4 lol
It felt like everything was going off the rails in the worst way with the music.

@trustytrest they didnt say it was bad. It felt like everything was spiraling put of control for the worse with this music. It added to the menacing amd terrifying nature of the fight.
This music is probably at least half the reason this fight is so stressful for me
When I first heard this music I was straight up intimidated. It was otherworldly.
Other people have mentioned that it has major Giratina vibes, so maybe I was having repressed memories from that one Legends: Arceus fight too lmao
This theme made me remember how I fought Zeromus on FFIV the very first time. Oh the nostalgia...
I purposely queue for this, this is my favorite trial in the game, so fast paced and fun. Music kicks ass too.
As a healer the going down to 1 hp gets my blood flowing. Such an incredible trial!
I did this for the first time today and for the most part didn't have a clue what was going on... the music is definitely cool though!
That bass guitar is just too Fuego! 🫠🫠🫠
Also, imagine having some of this track play randomly at a rave while you're in another dimension!

I enjoy the fact that Zodiark was our 1st trial of Endwalker and in essence also our last.
Did this fight yesterday, as a drum and bass lover and ff4 being one of my first ever ff games to play id have to say this shit went HARD, i want this song on Spotify, I NEEDS IT

I am no a big fan of Final Fantasy, but my friend showed me this song, and I really enjoy this.
The FF games in general have pretty phenomenal music, that's for sure.

This entire arc felt like a ton of fanservice towards ff4. I'm super happy I just so happened to start playing 4 right around the time I got to this arc
It is weird I am not seeing this more but the design, the battle and the song all make me.think of flowey from undertale. I know ff14 came first but this really has that particular feel.
Zeromus in FF4 wipes the floor with every single battle in Undertale. It's not even close.
Ah, the good ole' days of Final Fantasy: When final bosses were random, Cthulhu-like abominations that just kind of showed up.

I did this fight this morning was so much fun as a Red Mage 1 tank, both healers and a few of the other dps went down and i was just flowing threw my rotation rezing left and right moving to the right spot it was beautiful lol
Red Mage is a thing of beauty. Why it's my go-to roulette job

Everyone talking about Pokemon, but I do get hints of Secret of Mana in some places of this theme.
Imagine this could have been our Zodiac bossfight instead of what we got. Nonethless Zeromus can stand on its own. Real nice bossfight + intense OST.
You don’t think Zeromus isn’t a final form of a Zodiac boss fight? I feel like it would be a Cancer. He just wants to go home, yet has been betrayed enough to finally let loose and let his hatred consume everything, and pull the world into the darkness of the cosmos he has wrought since ffiv.
@@TheSawtoothNomad What i think is that after 10 yeras of build up giving us a lvl 83 or was it 84 boss trial against a easy peasy Zodiac is a waste of these 10 years of foreshadowing.
Overall i think Endwalker besides its high notes was a waste of potential & needed 3 expansions. As in take their time to let the final days play out.
Instead we got a rushed Zodiac fight.
A off screen nuked Garlemal.
The Final Days happening in the span of 35 minutes if you add the space quests onto it.
A last minute time travel plot to gives us the real big bad with at best 15 minutes of build up for them vs 10 years of foreshadowing that some kind of weird sound/entity is inside our planet.
But yes Zeromus is a better Zodiac fight than what we got at the lvl 84-83 trial.

@@TheSawtoothNomad There isnt much to miss. Zodicas placement in the story was just a huge let down. They could have given us a grand Zodica bossfight in Enwalker Expansion 1.
Then let the final days play out over Endwalker Expansion 2. For what do we have the Fate system if not for this to spawn Terrors & Nigthtmares given form all over the maps for players to clear in a "global evnet". Maybe put one or two world bosses ala Odin/Behemot somehwere.
Expansion 3 could have been the plot twist to reveal Twitter as the final endboss & build up the whole entropy/despair theme.
Before it was a "sound from sapce" it was a sound inside the earth.
Plus Midgasommnir not reviving & his corpse/spirit suppressing the entity below the silver lake sea. Which implied he knows whats inside the planet.
But whatever. Even Yohi-P cant win against japanese corp politics & shareholders.

*Spoiler Alert*
Zodiark *IS* our Zeromus. Zeromus is based on FF4. Zodiark may come from FF Tactics Advance & FF12 but make no mistake, the battle against Zodiark near the end of Endwalker is a big reference to Zeromus in FF4. This here is just a repeat of it all just as Zeromus Malice is in FF4 The After Years. Zodiark was the highlight for me personally because it allowed me to dance in front of my friends and go " _I was right, I was right!_ " after being so wrong about Shadowbringers, the expansion that so utterly disappointed me, plus it was a fantastic finale. Well, right before I was slapped in the face with the true enemy of course.
Shadowbringers disappointed me immensely because it spits in the face of old school FF by saying " _Ya' wanna be a Warrior of Darkness? Just slap the label on ya and succ that sweet light up!_ " and that's not how it worked...
Fans: *Mad that Zodiark was the expansion's final boss*

I don't think this is necessarily a bad remix, but the Black Mages' remix is on a different league entirely (which I guess is to be expected from something made by Uematsu himself)
Easily the worst tribute to a FF song I've ever heard, at least discounting those with zero production value.

This entire boss design and music theme give me massive Giratina vibes.
That was actually one of the big hiccups with Zeromus' design back in FF4. An immobile sprite with heavy detail work ended up losing a lot in the shuffle. It took years for me to realise where the eyes actually were.
Now though? Clear as a bell.
Honestly, I wouldn't be mad if Giratina said "Ey, Imma borrow this beat for a hot second." Then enters Phase 3 Giratina.

In a sense, this is the climactic showdown with Zodiark we didn't _Quite_ get, seeing as THEY DROPPED HIM ON US AS THE 83 TRIAL.
My head was spinning at that point. I was like wtf?! Zodiark NOW? Then wtf is happening 83-90?!! It was one of the first times I truly had no guess as to what was going to happen next
