      sounds like the Dentist office I went to, they did a consultation, xrays, panoramic and checked the depth of my gums, then the business guy comes in and says you need a deep cleaning, root canal, and 2 implants, that will be $6000 and we need all the money now before we do anything

    I find hearing about other countries approaches on x rays quite interesting. In Germany it’s illegal to take x rays without the patient seeing a dentist first. If the cavity risk is very low it’s quite normal to never take any X-rays or maybe bite wings ever five years or something. We don’t take x rays in children either, unless there is a problem that requires it. Full mouth x rays aren’t a usual thing, anything but bite wings is rally only taken with indication.

    I’ve been getting consults from dentists and I had 3 panoramic x-rays and then bite wings at one office in one week. I still have three more consults left. Should I have previous views sent to my last three consult places. The consults have been free but I’m concerned about getting all these x-rays in a short amount of time.

    Quick question as someone with a high gag reflex. Do you have any tips to minimise gagging at the dentist? Even bite wing X-rays make me gag. What can I do to help me and my dentist? Thank you.

    Is it necessary to do xray before starting the braces treatment?

    • @InnovativeDentalofSpringfield

      It really helps to determine the health of the teeth and make certain we know the position of the roots. We take a 3D X-ray before braces or Invisalign. ;)

    Yay for potty training!!! I went to a couple dentists within a few years. The first visit they refused to get the previous X-ray from the other dentist. One even went as taking impressions but all refused to do any work. I voiced my concern with all the radiation and they said there was no risk... all I could think was I was wearing a cape and they hid behind a wall... thank you for your explanation.

    I went to a new dentist's office, and they told me I had to do x-rays or else i could not be seen by the dentist..... And I only went for a routine cleanup.... no pain, no cavities, etc... Very Sad, I was forced to do it, so they can rip my insurance off. Also the dentist didn't do a good job either, very quick and sloppy......

    What about for the assistants that take X-rays every day all day.. I understand that it’s important to protect the patients but the person who helps the doctor and takes X-rays every day should also be cared for when it comes to getting exposed to radiation. I feel like doctors cared more about their patients because of course that’s how doctors get their money but let’s not forget without the work of assistants there would be no patients and of course no money for doctors so please let’s not forget about them.

      We definitely focus a lot of our energy on making a great and safe environment for our team. ;) we use digital X-ray technology and the team member taking the xrays does not stay in the room. We have zero touch buttons on the doors outside our rooms. We also use nomads. Our team has worn the X-ray badges to make certain that the radiation is extremely low. Just thought I would share how we handle radiation in our office. ;)

    8/8/2019Yeah! Its all about the money. When I get examined for the first time by a medical doctor, he doesn't request x-rays of any part of my body unless his impressions inform him that an x-ray is needed for further diagnosis of some malady about which I am complaining. Not so with dentists: each wants full-mouth x-rays periodically, notwithstanding that my teeth appear to be in excellent condition. Now, if my medical doctor had his own x-ray machine in his office, perhaps he would want full -body x-rays of each patient so he can pay for the machine and his for Mercedes.

  • @gummybear41283

      Why does my dentist do bitewing xrays every 6 months?? I think it’s highly unnecessary. From now on I’m gonna get X-rays every 30 or 35 months.

    • @InnovativeDentalofSpringfield
      @InnovativeDentalofSpringfield  4 года назад

      Everyone has a different preference. We typically do once every year or every other year depending on the number of restorations or how cavity prone the patient is.

    • @veroka7851
      @veroka7851 4 года назад

      Innovative Dental of Springfield every single time I go they tell me my teeth look good. So I’m really starting to believe they just wanna get paid (my insurance pays) for X-rays. I don’t believe it’s necessary unless I had gum disease or some other problem that needs to be checked every six months. Radiation is radiation and it accumulates in your body overtime.
